Tron Pop-Up Book

I figured we could start off with something simple to get into the grove of things! Today we’re looking at a companion book that was released for children, a pop-up book. The book summarizes the 1982 Tron movie in about 12 pages, with movable figures and well, pop-up pieces. The one with the I/O tower is probably my favorite, but multi-colored MCP is a close second.

It was released in 1982 by Little Simon, a part of the Simon & Schuster publishing company. Honestly not a lot can be found about this book; I know it was released in English and French, but I was unable to find any other languages. It’s possible they do exist, but because of how rare the book is, I couldn’t find anything.

For collectors out there, the price of the book varies greatly. It seems to range between $20 to $200. It honestly depends on who you’re buying it from. I’ve seen it listed on collector sites, but also on Ebay and Abebooks.

I’ve included image descriptions for all of the photos presented. Please let me know if I need to adjust the way I do them, this is my first time haha.

Personally, my favourite relationships in person of interest are the John ones.

John and Joss.

John and Lionel

And of course,

John and Harold.

And one reason is I think (despite not being politically correct) Jim Caviezel. Unless he plays a villain, in every other movie he seems to be able to connect his character with the co-protagonist.

In the Count of Monte Cristo, Edmond's relationships with Fernand, Faria, Jacopo and Mercédès are as easily gripping as the story itself. Loving the novel before watching the movie means I needed to be interested in it and for me personally, the relationships and emotions between the characters were as alive as the protagonist's character's arc.

Something very similar happens in person of interest. For me, it's all about the character. I love John, I love Harold, I love Lionel and Joss. And that brings me to the second reason I think those relationships grip me so well. They evolve alongside the character's knowledge and arc. They are slow, natural, they grip you tight as much (or more) as the story itself.

The evolution of the relationships from disturst and fear to respect and love happens in steps as they get to know each other, live with the other and as they change each other. And that's my favourite thing in the series.

And the creators somehow lost it midway. IMHO. It stopped being about characters' evolution, relationships changed overnight. In the above category Harold and Root could be added as is a realtionship with thought put on it. Only it's not because for personal reasons Root is not a favourite of mine

Harold and Elias was an equally well written one about two very different men who came to respect each other.

Basically, person of interest had, for a while, the best written characters and relationships.

(Harold and Nathan were also great but we meet them as friends. Always friends despite their differences.)

Born in Thornweave, abandoned by his original parents and adopted by Gladiolus Gardner, Fern was raised in the family's namesake profession. He always had a strong connection to nature, something that felt like it parted him from other's -- that and his social awkwardness. Once, that connection meant long walks in the woods and hours reading about bugs and looking for them. Nowadays, it has become an increasing concern, as overwhelming feelings trigger transformations into an animal shape Fern hides as much as he can.

Nathaniel (Nathan) Campbell, 19 - he/him - human

Nathan has always been resourceful and quick to pick up the quirks of magic and understand the complex systems that rule it, all the makings of a caster. His family gave him support and fueled Nathan's interest in the occult in his teen years. Over time, he came to realize that he wanted to pursue magic further than as a hobby. That, paired with a growing need to find out who he is away from his family, made him leave Brazil and move to Thornweave to open up business for magical services as a witch.

Lucas Carpenter, 19 - he/him - troll/therian

One of the middle children of the Carpenters, Lucas spent much of his life mediating and living in accordance to what he needed to be -- dutiful and reliable. All his virtues, however, did not change the fact he was not his parents' daughter. Things went sour when he came out. He left home and found himself staying in Thornweave's temple to Saint Rosaire. The priestess offered to let him stay there officially, if he agreed to help with her duties. Already adept to the faith's traditions since childhood, he made for a perfect candidate.

Ego, 18 - it/any - human (demon)

Ego has come to Thornweave to run away from all that its life was. Former bad religious experiences and a depressive period left it vulnerable to demonic influence that has been slowly taken its humanity away. Meeting Nathan helped it get back on its feet in every way. Given mental illness left it quite disillusioned with life and the idea of college, Ego jumped at the opportunity when its boyfriend wanted to move away. Every witch needs a demon familiar, and Ego loves the theatrics.

La plupart des collages réalisés cet été ont été construits à partir d'une pile de magazines Vogue qui ont été déposés dans mon hall d'immeuble. Cette technique que j'affectionne tout particulièrement depuis que je l'utilise pour écrire des poèmes à la manière d'écrivains de la Beat-generation a été le meilleur remède au blocage créatif ces derniers temps. Je ne savais pas comment ni même quoi dire et les petits papiers parlent eux-même (en quelque sorte).

Most of these collages from this summer were made from a pile of Vogue magazines that had been left in my apartment hall. This technique, which I've been particularly fond of since I used it to write poems in the style of Beat-generation writers, has been the best remedy for creative block lately. I didn't know how or even what to say, and the little papers speak for themselves (sort of).

Süper Lig'de 22. hafta mücadelesinde Fatih Karagümrük, Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadyumu'nda Beşiktaş ile karşılaştı.

 Mücadele 1-1 beraberlikle sona erdi.  Maçta goller; 33. dakikada Cenk Tosun ve 49. dakikada Ozdoev'den geldi.  Bu sonuçla birlikte, Beşiktaş puanını 39 yaptı. Fatih Karagümrük ise, 23 puana yükseldi.

Siyah-beyazlı takımda teknik direktör Şenol Güneş, Süper Lig'in 21. haftasında Corendon Alanyaspor'u 3-0 mağlup ettikleri maça ilk 11'de başlayan futbolculardan Jackson Muleka'yı yedeğe çekti, Salih Uçan ise sakatlığı nedeniyle kadroda yer alamadı.

Deneyimli teknik adam, Fatih Karagümrük karşısında bu oyuncuların yerine kart cezalarını tamamlayan Valentin Rosier ile Nathan Redmond'a görev verdi.

Hayal kırıklığı

Son haftaların formda ekibi ve ligin en çok gol atanlardan takımlarından biri olan Karagümrük'tü... Beşiktaş zorlu bir deplasmandan 1 puanla dönerken önemli bir kayıp yaşadı (Gedson). Beşiktaş, Cenk'in fırsatçılığıyla öne geçerken golcü futbolcunun ilk devrede vuruşunun direkten dönmesi Beşiktaş acısından şanssızlıktı. Salih'in yokluğu çok belli olurken, Gedson Fernandes'in dışında dün Beşiktaş'ta vasatın üzerine çıkan oyuncu yoktu.

L'homme blanc ne voit pas que, sous cette superposition de réalités virtuelles, se joue son histoire à lui, et que c'est donc lui qui va en faire les frais au dernier acte, si quelque part entre ici et ce dernier acte, il ne se dresse pas sur ses membres postérieurs pour pousser un long cri primal !
