i literally think about ferain every day. what a MAN. kind and conscientious and funny and hot and devoted and protective and romantic and just ugh his kindness stood out to me so much. karys needed so much grace and space and understanding and he offered it so immediately. like i LOVE him.

A very rough version of the original concept before I pivoted to make a normal Ferain portrait. Some of his last lines in the book (not the one quoted above) had EXTREMELY strong "Oh Anna, if only there was someone out there who loved you" energy. I think I'd still like to do something similar in the future because it was fun to make the smile just the tiniest bit different and I like drawing people looking unhinged but - I'm still recovering from the end of the book. I need some...happiness first. 😔
