thinking about white-collar office worker au where all the sodor railway blokes are working their remote jobs doing business management for the railway companies and its The Most Office Job Environment Ever.
Henry is the idiot who's muted over zoom and doesn't know it until someone tells him he's muted and he can't figure out why. James and Thomas get a screen cap of him leaning in trying to figure it out and change their Webcam backgrounds so everyone thinks they're Henry all the time.
Edward is the human resources representative and he is so fucking overworked by these clowns.
Gordon is the floor administrator and is looking for ANY valid reason to fire James but James is so fucking good at marketing he can't in good conscience get rid of him.
Percy is the IT wizard who everyone assumes is a robot and sleeps in the office and can fix literally anything. No one knows how. It Just Works™️. Gordon struggling with his Webcam and Percy sneezes on it: fixed. Convinced he is just an AI.
Thomas is the temp worker who never left.
The skarloey and culdee fell railway representatives work on the floor below them and just have constant noise complaints.
always happy about the fact that in 2012, mikey often asked donnie questions if he didn't understand something and donnie always answered no matter what
this can be seen in a bunch of episodes but my favorite example of it it's the one in half shell heroes where mikey is extremely excited to be in the museums and is the one actively asking donnie questions about the exhibits they saw and also actively listening to donnie's explanation (before raph got silly lmao). he was very excited to learn!!!
And while it's true that mikey would lose interest quite fast if the explanation got too lengthy with too many technical terms, it doesn't change the fact that he does retain the info donnie is always rambling on about different things!!! (even if mikey himself doesn't notice he's doing it lol) and also i find it very sweet that no matter if donnie himself got annoyed, donnie would always answer the questions. no matter what. he would always try to explain if he didn't understand something
This is prob because mikey is the one brother who is often seeking out donnie to pass time around him Meaning that donnie might have used mikey as his rubber ducky whenever mikey hangs out with him while he's working (explained him a lot of his experiments and theories while trying to solve them himself and in this way mikey also learnt in the process WHILE spending time with his brother! win win!)
it also helps donnie because accompanies him while not letting him get lonely in his lab 24/7, sometimes explaining things to someone makes it better to understand it yourself AND it's shown in the comics that donnie is quite used to his brothers just Living as background noise and literally cannot function without it lmao
They are literally the two smart kids in the family even if none of them notice it and it's all because mikey looks up to his brother and is like an sponge with donnie around. donnie is actively teaching mikey and mikey is learning! even if they have no idea they are doing it
Yk. I love Ruin saying that he would do it all over again if he had to. Why not put Ruin in a time loop of it, hm? Make him relive the week up to his "grand finale" and study him to see if he continues to stand by his word but slowly loses all care and regard for the world around him or see if his resolve slowly crumbles away with each loop ^_^
I do get why so many fans love Divine Leliana, I do. But Divine Vivienne has so much good stuff going on and honestly is so underrated. The tone of her Divine ending epilogue is made so... villainous? But think about what she accomplishes. From the wiki:
"To the surprise of many, she reinstates the Circle of Magi and creates a Templar Order firmly leashed to her hand.
Mages rise quickly in the new Circle, having more freedom and responsibility then ever before - even if all true power lies with her."
People get so hung up on her reinstating the circle of magi and templars and others within the chantry like cassandra finding her tyrannical. But look at what she's doing. She leashes the templars, which implies that the templar order has far more checks and balances than before and prevents them from being able to abuse mages without consequence like they could in circles like Kirkwall's.
Mages within Vivienne's circle system have both freedom and responsibility. The "all true power lies with her" bit isn't something that is unique to Vivienne. This is literally how it works with lierally every Divine ever except for Leliana. But what is unique to Divine Vivienne is that she's creating opportunities for mages to have the same opportunity that she did. Consider how poorly the mage rebellion was organized in Redcliffe, and how quick they were to ally with Alexius. Part of that choice was due to lack of allies, yes. But I think part of that was also due to how unprepared most mages in southern Thedas were pre-inquisition for making choices of their own without chantry oversight (which is by design on the chantry's part). Within Vivienne's chantry, mages gain responsibility while also having the security of the circles behind them. Also, I can't find the lines at the moment but I could have sworn that mages within Vivienne's Chantry have the freedom to join the Chantry's hierarchy as sisters and mothers? If I have that right then for all of Vivienne's time as Divine, mages will have been earning the goodwill of the populace by being among them the same way all sisters and mothers are instead of hidden away in the circles like the majority have been before the mage rebellion. This makes it much more likely that Vivienne's reforms as Divine will stick after her death, since any future Divine who tries to restore the old status quo will now have to deal with the people of Thedas who now personally care about the mages who they interact with in their day to day lives, as well as more politically savvy circle mages who will be better prepared to advocate for themselves. Leliana's reforms have appeal as well, but Vivienne as Divine creates such an interesting world state that she is my personal favorite of the three options.
Y'know Im not even gonna pretend to get ppl complaining abt the new skill trees because it makes Wilson less unique or whatever. Like there's plenty to complain abt with the skill trees, but you have to understand that the actual abilities Wilson gets from them are still unique, and still quite powerful in some cases. He rly isn't losing anything he hasn't lost by getting a skill tree in the first place, and in particular he could have a lot of use for certain speedruns and at worst is situational, which in itself means he's gained a unique role as a character. He doesn't need another new rework now or anything, the only rework Id want is a rework of the skill trees in general, Wilson is genuinely going to be just fine don't worry
"I'm curious, Ferhð; What do dragons do when they're courting? Or at least, what does your species do? Do you show off your full wingspan and their coloration? Are gifts to be expected, both giving and recieving? How important is it that your mate be another dragon, or does that matter at all? Is the ability to reproduce vital when choosing a mate in the first place? Is mating...dangerous? If so, how dangerous?" / kaede asking silly questions for science--
Amusing, to think they knew a bit about their methods, but it wasn't hard to figure out. After all, all beasts had manners to dazzle potential partners for nesting and mating. Smirking a little with a tint of crimson over his cheeks the Dragon fluttered his wings twice before huffing with some embarrassment as the tail coiled behind him and settled at peace. "Well, it depends - for humans, we don't do anything. It's rare, and I've only heard tales of devoting one's warmth, home and food to them. A gesture to show protection, providing meals and safety." He blinked at the memory - the tales were far and old, so he wasn't sure if it was true or not. "Sometimes we die for our partners if we have too. That's rarer than a human parter though. We're pretty selfish."
He sniffed, not minding the term, it was survival of the fittest, and they weren't a species of dragon that didn't see itself as be all and end all. "Sometimes it's a display of ash-dancing, our lungs don't produce flames like normal dragons but a corrosive ashen-gas that burns all the same but more vile. If we can en case you in the ash, you'll be boiled alive as a statue of said ash." He pointed out, claw raised with his point before lowering it with his following words. "We make statues of gifts. Big trees, rocks, crystals - things we can show off our lung capacity - since it'll be a telling sign of how powerful our lungs are to defend the nests."
"Other times we bring gifts from volcanic holes - molten rocks, sulphur's a good one, common but good. Coals more fun - we eat that. Crystal or minimal ores are good for decoration and solidifying nests so we fight over those often if it's a big group." Explaining the oddities of his flocks mating season, it was strange to talk about it all as if he wasn't part of it. "I don't know if you've noticed, but I've laid eggs. Our species doesn't need a partner to make them but to fertilize. Like a common farm bird you humans keep." Rather proud of that - his nose was pointed in the air. "It's dangerous, mostly because of where we nest and live most the time. You finding me here is out of my element. Flat grounds, cold, damp, scarce tree lines. I'm a target here no matter what I do to make it be safer."
"We nest inside of volcanos. The hotter, the better, our talons are strong enough to dig through molten layers of a volcanoes sides, so we make nests and lay our eggs as close as we can to the magma, it helps hatch the hatchlings faster. In turn, we nest with them until that day - so, a human trying to live in such a place would kill them. That or the Dragons we follow for protection and wealth. Their hordes are delicious in the metals they sleep on, gold is great for nesting decorations as I mentioned before."
thinking about the fact that compared to literally any other single iteration of tmnt, the 2012 boys seems to be the ones who truly never left the sewers not even once ever since they got mutated
meaning that they truly spent the first 15 years of their life underground
When they first get out of the manhole in the first episode None of the brothers show any sign of recognition of their surroundings meaning that none of them, not even once, actually got to go that far
this is cemented by the way they all are actually very excited of what they are seeing for the first time ever at every single step they make (except for raph maybe lmao but i think thats because he didn't want to look silly like his bros)
AND ALSO HOW THEY DON'T RECOGNIZE OTHER FOOD THAT ISNT ALGAE AND WORMS 😭(because of what raph said of not knowing anything better than that) THEY FR SURVIVED WITH WHAT LITTLE SCRAPS SPLINTER COULD FIND AND LITERAL ALGAE AND WORMS. LEO IS SO WORRIED ABOUT MIKEY EATING THE PIZZA
they were so excited about being topside....it was a whole new world for them......
going off topic a bit but this all is definitely another reason on why mikey's relationship with food is the way it is
He literally has so many new possibilities to cook with other ingredients that aren't algae and worms and in this process he ends up making combinations that would make rise mikey cry blood
what if lord eclipse had a house of leaves effect to him…. like, how the book will say “the house”, anyone who speaks about lord eclipse will be like “he’s saved us,” or “the lord is near.” yk???
Amazing how Dragon Age got all the sci-fi royalty on board for their voice casts.
A Jedi Master, a Starfleet Captain, an Ex-Peacekeeper, Commander Shepard, alien next-door neighbour Larry Bird, and no less than 3 members of Torchwood all walk into a fantasy RPG
