I have no idea what I'm going to do for Femslash Februrary this year. Ususally I make gifs. But I'm out of gifs for the femslash ships I have in the fandoms I'm into right now. I've already giffed all those pairs for everything I've got of them. I don't really want to make gifs for things I don't ship, but I'm really low on ideas.

FEMSLASH FEBRUARY 2025 #1: Headcanon that Cameron and Donna both contribute and donate to Archive of Our Own Dot Org

Cameron and Donna both have ao3 accounts, but didn’t realize it until Donna went to respond to a Captain Janeway/Seven of Nine fic only to see a complimentary comment that had been left by a licoriceatmutinydotnet. Donna replied to their reply, “…Cameron?” Cameron figured out that the comment had been left by Donna from her username, TheSymphonic, and replied, “Nope sorry wrong number BYE”.

Donna has not let Cameron live this reply down, but they’ve learned to co-exist peacefully and independently on the site:

Sometimes they sit at the kitchen table and work on their WIPs at the same time, but they also lovingly mostly ignore each other’s fics and comments

Cameron does more writing, and Donna does more reading and commenting/encouraging

Cameron mostly writes domestic fluff, while Donna will post unabashed smut

Donna only writes about sapphic pairings, while Cameron frequently writes m4m and bisexual m4f

Cameron writes long multi-chapter fics, while Donna only writes one-shots, and is known for posting steamy drabbles

Donna will write fics about any and every ship that speaks to her, while Cameron has a short list of fandoms to which she contributes

They’re both heavy into Star Trek, The X-Files, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, obviously

Cameron also writes about Westworld, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, and The Lord of the Rings. Her most popular fics by far are the ones she writes about bi!Aragorn/bi!Arwen

Donna’s all-time favorite ships are Scully/Reyes and Faith/Willow; lately she’s been into Supercorp, the couple from the new Orphan Black series which then led her back to Trishica and other Jessica Jones fics, and, of course, Caitvi

Cameron mostly keeps her favorite fics to herself, but Donna sends her favorites to Cameron regularly

Lately she sends her a lot of Caitvi fics, and Cameron dutifully looks at all of them, not having the heart to tell her that she’s more into Jayvik, and is also intrigued by the rare Sevika/Jinx pairing

They’ve had multiple conversations about the criticisms that ao3 gets for allowing stories about assault and abuse, and reached the conclusion that ao3 shouldn’t be held responsible for the very tiny but vocal minority of users who go around threatening to abuse in real life if they can’t post their assault and murder and incest fics and might pose an actual danger

They’ve both been downloading their favorite fics, because they’re both worried about the site being targeted and/or shut down, and have had multiple conversations about both

While this is obviously a huge bummer, Donna is coping by throwing herself into the very popular Caitvi NASA fic, and Cameron has started to read and enjoy it too

Beau spends four nights tinkering with her jeweler's kit before conceding defeat.  This is not something she can do sitting in bed with goggles.  She needs a workshop.  Because she wants to make a ring, and she's never done that before. Then again, Beau has also decided to propose, and she's never done anything like that before either.

She gets Yasha and Nott to cover for her, distract Jester, make up excuses.  And after three weeks of sneaking out to the jeweler's shop up the street, she has a silver band, inlaid with jade, and crowned with sapphires.  And Beau isn't sure how she feels about rings, but she is sure about her feelings for Jester. Because even though they never talk about the future, Jester is always there in all of Beau's visions, and Beau can't imagine their life any other way.

So when she finally greets Jester that day, it's cupcake in hand, ring nestled neatly in the frosting, and tingles throughout her body. And she's supposed to think of something witty to say, something heartfelt and meaningful. Because all that time ago, when they stood outside the witch's hut, it was not Isharnai from which Jester saved Beau, but rather from Beau herself.

Jester smiles at the cupcake, and Beau, oblivious.  Beau kneels, because that's what people do.  Her words are nervous and stilted, stumbling and raw. “You told me once that blueberry was your favourite flavour, so this is for you. Save me again?”

This prompt sent me spiraling into pregnant Holtzbert headcanons because like… hi, welcome to Eevachu’s SECRET JAM.  I love it, thank you for giving me an excuse to INDULGE.

HEADCANON TIME: the Ghostbusters eventually start running programs with local schools to get kids, especially girls, into STEM fields of study.  Holtz runs like A DOZEN classes and workshops herself with youth shelters, and the Firehouse just becomes this hangout for tiny at-risk kids who love science and explosions.  Erin gets A LOT OF FEELINGS seeing Holtz so great around kids because she didn’t expect it and her biological clock is like: “THAT ONE, PICK THAT ONE, MAKE SOMETHING WITH THAT ONE.”

The Ghostbusters end up with one particular teen girl who becomes the Holtz to Dr. Gorin, but for Holtz (the rest of the gang love her too). They end up basically adopting her, and since Holtz and Erin are a couple they’re the ones that do the most “parenting” stuff.  When the kid goes off to college they get all empty-nester and they’re both like, “That one turned out great, we should grow one of those ourselves.”   And a coin toss and MANY costly medical things later: boom, they cannot agree on any sort of baby name for mini-Erin/Holtz.

This kiddo comes to adore and idolize her big adopted sister btw and is just so smart and this little clone of Erin with all of Holtz’ energy, which is terrifying.

Around the same time the freshly baked Holtzbert bun goes off to school, Holtz is just like, “I THINK WE SHOULD HAVE ANOTHER ONE, AND THIS TIME I WILL TAKE THE RING TO MORDOR.”  And so Holtz carries their second kid (who grows up to be a large dude Holtz: brilliant, charming, eccentric, a little neurotic and just worships the ground women walk on).
