Hello everyone,
As the LA Femmes of Color Collective mentioned before the Femmes of Color panel we are apart of entitled “I See You: Creating #FemmesOfColorVisibility and Community” was accepted to participate at the Femme4Femme track this June at the Allied Media Conference in Detroit. We are thrilled to be apart of this track and to be able to share space with so many black femmes and femmes of color!
We are calling on our communities for support to get 5 femmes (Danielle Stevens, Dulce A. Garcia, Jo De La Torre, Laura Luna and V Durand) of the 8 panelists to AMC. The other 3 femmes (Andrea Quijada, Alyssa Hernandez and Kandace Creel Falcón) are able to provide funds to attend and be apart of the whole AMC experience.
The 5 femmes needing financial support need help covering costs of registration, flights and housing. Our grand total is $3,510. In our fundraiser link, we provide a breakdown of how the funds will be divided among those 3 previously mentioned groups of lodging, registration and flights.
If we are able to surpass our goal, we will be using the additional money for food during the conference and travelling between airport and the Wayne State University campus.
We feel that all of our respective work and this collaboration as a panel are an investment to our communities. We want to express deep appreciation for every single donation we receive and/or helping us by sharing our link to your various social networks. No donation and signal boost is too small in support of making all of our dreams of attending AMC for this panel come true.
Thank you!
In community, V Durand Danielle Stevens Jo De La Torre Laura Luna Dulce A. Garcia

We are super excited to announce that some of the Los Angeles Femmes of Color Collective core group members will be spreading the #FemmesofColorVisibility gospel at this year’s Allied Media Conference in Detroit! Our panel: “I See You: Creating #FemmesofColorVisibility and Community” has been accepted for the Femme4Femme Track!
LA Femmes of Color Collective core group members Jo, V, Alyssa and Laura Luna will be representing the collective and joining us on the panel will be Filmmaker and Activist Dulce Garcia, Chicana Feminist Academic Kandace Creel Falcón from MSU and Community Activist & Founder of the blog This Bridge Called Our Health: (Re)imagining Our Minds, Bodies and Spirits Danielle Stevens. Moderating the panel will be Andrea Quijada who is the ED of Media Literacy Project in New Mexico. We are excited to work with all these brilliant Femmes and continue making connections for our collective with other brilliant Femmes of Color in the US and beyond!
