i swear half the writers' room wanted to put logan through hell because they loved him and the other half because they hated him

he has some of the best character development in the series and has the most realistic reactions to how fucking tragic his pretty rich boy life is, but also backslides in a very frustrating way that feels like there's a tug-of-war between his fans and detractors

they just undo all his character development for season one in half an episode, make veronica dump him, then later in the season BURN HIS HOUSE DOWN ???? it feels excessive in an inauthentic way tbh and they just put him through the wringer again and again and again

#LoVe also suffers from that lazy writer trope of the only drama they can think of is breaking up lmao #like honestly rewatching this and remembering that he was accused of murdering ANOTHER girlfriend in the movie...#his fate in s4 isn't that shocking anymore #it just feels like they're more interested in using logan as a punching bag (or a source of misery for v) than writing something compelling #and that scene where veronica almost gets her face tattooed by the fitzpatricks and logan saves her is kind of off #it feels incomplete like they should have had a moment but they moved on too quickly #IDK MAYBE IT'S JUST SHIPPER GOGGLES BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE MORE WITH IT #felt more like a setup for Logan Has a Gun in His Glove Compartment than anything about their characters or feelings for each other #they just needed five more minutes #vm liveblog
