He then confeses and asks to court her or something sweet pleaseee?? My fav fluff writer! Thank u!
A/N: Thank you so much for the kind words and sweet as heck request. Really love this one. I didn't edit it too heavily so please be wary of general writing mistakes! Hope you all enjoy my fav elf imagine :)
Pairing: Legolas x Female Reader
Word Count: 2.9k +
TW: Pure fluff? No LOTR triggers
You had finally gotten a free evening to yourself after training for the better part of every evening for the last year with your father, Girdirion. He had been training you relentlessly after Legolas had left of the quest his father, King Thranduil, had sent him off on. That was over a year ago. You hadn’t heard much other than they had made it to Minas Tirith a few months ago.
Your father suddenly saw you as defenseless without your longtime friend at your side. Being the kings most trusted advisor, he had been trained for centuries and was a formidable fighter. It wasn’t until after Legolas had left that you had realized how serious the threat to middle earth was. Your father must had realized it too as he worked you to the bone, training you at every chance he could.
It was only after King Thranduil received word that the ring had been destroyed and his son was heading home did things begin to change. Your father still made you train but it wasn’t at every waking moment any longer. Tonight, was one of those nights that he had given you off as he had meetings to attend to with the king.
Time felt too slow as you waited for Legolas to return. He promised he would. You knew he would. He was all the way across middle earth, but you just couldn’t seem to wait any longer. You longed for you best friend, who meant much more to you than just a best friend, to come home.
As soon as you settled on your bed to begin reading the novel you had been meaning to finish there was a quick knock at your door. Who could that be? You weren’t expecting anybody at this hour after dinner. Begrudgingly, you set the book down just as you had gotten comfortable and made your way over to the door.
When you opened the door you scrunched your face in confusion, “Father? What are you doing here? I thought you were meeting with the king?”
He nodded, “I was. Then we got interrupted. There is somebody here I think you may want to see.” His smile let you know exactly what you were thinking. Legolas was home. He was back in Mirkwood after nearly a year and a half away. Sure, it wasn’t that long of a time for you in the scheme of your lifetime but it did feel like the longest year of your nearly two thousand years in middle earth.
“Legolas?” You tore out of your room not waiting for his response as you made your way to the throne room. You heard your fathers deep laughter behind you before he jogged to catch up with your lighter than air pace.
Once he caught up to you he had that knowing smile on his face. He had watched the two of you dance around the obvious feelings each other had. You never thought you were good enough to be with the kings son. He never thought you were interested in that way. But to everybody on the outside looking in it was rather obvious the two of you were destined to be together. Even if it was taking longer than expected. A thousand years longer than expected. See, King Thranduil and your father had agreed they would bless the union between the two of you should it come naturally. But neither had the heart to force it. He and your father knew as good as anybody these things had to find their way on their own, naturally. Even if it drove the two elder Ellon’s mad.
“Indeed, your elf has made it home.” He spoke as the two of you walked, much faster than normal, towards the kings room.
Before you opened the massive wood doors you turned to him with a sly smile and a hint of a blush dotting the apples of your cheeks, “My elf?”
Your father raised his eyebrows at you, “Go on then.” He pushed you forward ignoring your question.
When you pushed open the doors you couldn’t find the familiar blonde hair of your best friend. Even as you walked closer to the throne you looked all around the hall and only spotted King Thranduil who was giving you the same smirk your father just did. What were they up to? Where was Legolas? And why was the king looking at you like he knows something you didn’t?
“I apologize my king.” You bowed unsure of what else to do. When you turned to see if your father had followed you in you were left biting your lip seeing the door closed without him in the room. What was he up to? “My father said…”
Thranduil put his hand up pausing you right in your tracks, “Legolas is out in the gardens with a dwarf. A dwarf!” He sounded more frustrated than excited to his son after the time away.
But you cracked a smile instead. That was so him. He was anything and everything his father was not. The two of them could not have more different personalities. Your best friend was the one to push boundaries no elves would or could do seeing that his father was the king, “A dwarf you say? That sounds like him.”
Thranduil studied your happier than he’s seen you in an entire year expression full well knowing it was because Legolas was back from his grand quest. Thranduil rose from his throne before walking down to you. Having to look up to him because he was so tall all you could do was wait on his word.
He pointed his hand towards the entrance to the kings private gardens, “Go, you audience is rather impatiently waiting on you.” He gave you a knowing smile before retreating towards the door you had originally come in, likely to go find your father. Not wasting anymore time you made a beeline towards the doors that led to the private gardens you so rarely got to enjoy. He must have deemed it enough of a special occasion to grant access to not only you, but a dwarf as well. You knew Legolas was behind that as well. He was the only one to get the king to agree to something he might not want to do.
For the second time in a few moments, you threw open the heavy wooden doors leading out to the gardens. It did not take you long to hear the pair before you saw them. You paused hoping to catch just a brief moment between the two of them before you made your presence completely known. As you suspected the dwarf had Legolas distracted from hearing you walk out.
“Look at ya lad. Pacin’ like a horse.” The unfamiliar voice chuckled. You had a feeling the dwarf poked fun at the ellon more often than not.
You just knew he was rolling his eyes, the beautiful blonde prince he was, “I am not Gimli.”
But the dwarf just kept laughing, “Ya’ weren’t even this nervous when we rode up to the Black Gate.”
“Would you quiet down dwarf. She will be out momentarily.” That sounded just like the elf that had left a year and a half prior. It was almost too easy to get him worked up and the dwarf called Gimli certainly enjoyed playing into it.
“The little lassie has you this nervous huh?” You? You made him nervous?
Legolas let out a huff, “Gimli!” And you knew that was your queue to help spare the ellon from his friend who seemed relentless. You already liked Gimli from the sounds of it. You shut the door behind you louder than necessary to signal your arrival.
Taking a deep breath, you walked forward suddenly terribly nervous after those comments. What was Gimli playing on? Why would he be nervous to see you? You didn’t want to get your hopes up on feelings as you buried those away centuries ago. Your crush for the ellon grew slowly the first thousand or so years you knew him. Truly organic in the best way possible. Childhood friends to training partners to friends then best friends after it all. Once your training to become a healer had completed you had a sneaking suspicion all his injuries in the field were so he could come see you after some time away. He would only request you. Straight refusing the other healers help when offered. He would wait for you.
But then it just stayed like that. You thought it could grow into something more, but it dawned on you over the next few centuries his father had a say in who he courts and marries. Why would King Thranduil allow his son to court you of all elves? Sure, your father was his most trusted advisor, but you were no political gain in marriage. So you did what you did best, buried the feelings deep and bottled it all up.
The two of them quieted quickly hearing the door close. When you turned the corner you finally spotted your prince after far too long apart paired with an adorably red-headed dwarf who was staring right at you. You however were staring straight at Legolas as your small smile turned into a massive one. There he was, as handsome as ever, standing right there in front of you after too long. The longest either have you had spent apart from each other.
“Legolas.” You grinned before pulling him into a tight hug. It was when he gave you a big squeeze back that you simply just melted into the ellon completely forgetting you had an audience yourselves.
“Aye lad! You left out the detail of your Y/N being quite the beauty.” Gimli spoke up from beside you breaking the trance the two of you seemed to be under. You giggled once you pulled away from him seeing the look of horror cross his face at his friends comments.
You turned to the dwarf feeling the nerves wash away. You had the advantage here as Gimli seemed to want to torture your friend, “Hello. It is lovely to meet you. I am Y/N. Daughter of Girdirion, King Thranduil’s advisor.”
He pointed at you before narrowing his eyes at you, “Do you hate dwarves as much as his father does?”
You shook your head, “Hardly. You are actually the first dwarf I am meeting. I do not get away often.” You knelt down making yourself level with him, “You are much cuter than made out to be.” That earned a few stumbling words and a rather mighty blush to the warrior who seemed to have nothing but words. You managed to render him speechless.
This earned a snicker from your favorite ellon, “Elf got your tongue there Gimli?”
That comment must have meant war between the two of them. The dwarf cocked his eyes up to his friend, shook his head then turned back to you who was now back to standing instead of crouching, “Lady Y/N. It is lovely to finally meet you too. I feel as though I already know ya lassie.” He grinned knowing exactly what he was about to do.
You looked at Legolas with curiosity framing your face before returning your attention back to Gimli, “Do you?”
“Aye.” He nodded, “Legolas here would never shut up about ye. Y/N this. Y/N that. Y/N would love this. Y/N would hate that.”
You knew your cheeks were surely aflame with embarrassment just as Legolas’ were, “We have spent quite some time together over the years.”
But Gimli wouldn’t have that, “I think it has something to do with you lassie. The way you look. The way you dress. The way you seem to occupy his every thought.”
“That is enough.” Legolas finally chimed in giving his friend a hard stare telling him to get the hell out. But that only egged the red head on further. Your eyes bounced back and forth between the two of them before Gimli relented.
He bowed his head, “My lady.”
Echoing his actions you responded, “Gimli.” Before turning your attention back to the prince. Your eyes finally were able to scan his features. Not a hair seemed out of place. He was exactly as you remembered.
“Welcome home.” You gave him your biggest smile feeling like you could finally relax after seeing him alive and well.
He wasted no more time before pulling you into a second bone crushing hug. He had never been so forward causing you to let out a slight stutter in surprise of his actions. It was the last thing you had expected from him. But then again, who knew what he went through out there. Legolas was a strong warrior, but you knew how deeply this could impact anybody who had to go through it.
“I have missed you.” He whispered into your ear not letting his arms go from around you. He had no clue how his words were affecting you in that moment. Suddenly you felt that stupid little crush, that was surely love at this point, bubbling up from the depths of your heart that you had long since locked away.
When he pulled away after a few moments he took the time to look you over just as you had moments prior. He didn’t drop his hands from around your waist though, simply holding you loosely in his embrace. You had never felt his eyes or his hands on you heavily before or that you had noticed in the past, “I have missed you beyond words Legolas. I have spent a year and a half filled with the dread of the thought you may never come home. Seeing you here is the greatest gift Eru Ilúvatar could have bequeathed.”
It was then that Legolas knew just how deep your feelings ran for him just as they had run for you. He too had spent the better part of a thousand years being absolutely in love with you, his favorite elf, but making no indication of it. For he thought you may have eyes for someone else. He could not risk losing you in the event you said ‘no’ to his request to court you. But by the way you were looking at him he knew that was wrong. Your love laced eyes could not break away from his gorgeous blue ones.
He knew he needed to take the next step with you. Gimli was right. His dwarf friend spent the better part of the journey home convincing him he needed to ask the question he had been dying to ask you. He wanted to court you. Spend the rest of his middle earth life and the next one with you. He had never been so sure of that. The thought of courting another elleth felt wrong. It was you. It was always going to be you.
“Gimli was not lying, my lady.” Even though it came out as a whisper your ears could pick it up with no problem.
That shocked you. Was he admitting the same thing that you were? Did he have feelings for you too? “Pardon?”
He grinned seeing your dumb struck face, “You do in fact occupy my every thought. You are the reason I am here now. I fought for middle earth, yes. But for you more. Thinking of your smile pulled me out of the darkest of times
Your lips parted in utter shock at his admission, “Legolas, I…” You were at a loss for words as you processed his confession to you. Your heart was giving you away completely though as it beat faster than it ever had before.
He continued seeing as you were rendered speechless, “It was only ever you. It was only every going to be you, my love. You are my very best friend Y/N. I would never want to continue this life with somebody who was not you. It is only you. It will only ever be you.” He paused finding the courage to say what had been on the tip of his tongue for centuries, “I love you.”
Your jaw might have been on the floor at this point, “You love me?”
He nodded with a nervous expression, “More than you will ever know.”
That was all you needed before you walked forward, butting yourself right against his chest, “That is a relief my prince. As I love you too. More than you will ever know.”
Euphoria. The truest form of euphoria pulsed through your body as you too admitted what had always been so hard to admit.
His expression melted to that of pure elation. Gently he placed his hands under your chin, cupping your face so carefully, “May I begin to court you, my love?”
“I would be so honored Legolas.” Your head was turned up as you looked into his eyes for likely the millionth time. It was different this time. Charged with love and lust. Like you were looking at a new Legolas. One that you could get to know at a much deeper level.
He brushed his thumb over your lips sending shivers racking throughout your body, “Only you. Only ever you.”

I really love your headcannons! Thanks for them! what do you think it's like to cuddle with a fellowship and how tactile they are in general, I would be grateful if it was in a romantic way, but if it's not difficult (if possible, then Gandalf should be too)
Cuddling with the fellowship
Aragorn:
-He often has his hands on you in some way
-Either in your shoulder, waist, back, or holding your hand
-But he isn’t the biggest cuddler despite being a touchy guy
-I think he worries he won’t be able to get up fast enough to protect you
-However he does sleep best when you are wrapped up in his arms
-He likes to lay his head in your lap
-Or with your head on his chest
-He subconsciously gives little massages while cuddling
-Does the thumb rub thing
Legolas:
-Once he figures out cuddling and physical affection he will always initiate it
-He will always come up and hug you from behind
-He finds comfort in it that he didn’t expect since elves aren’t really physically affectionate
-He likes to be big spoon and will hold your hand while you are wrapped safely in his arms
-He burrows his face into your hair or between your shoulder blades
-Sometimes he so close that he snores because his nose is pressed against your back (listen Ik elves don’t really sleep or whatever but let me have this)
-He will give you top of the head kisses randomly while you lay on his chest
-Just in general he does this; walking past you, you get a head kiss
-Pippin asks for one too; he says he feels left out
Gimli:
-Big time cuddler
-Dwarves are pretty big on physical touch
-Maybe cuddling isn’t necessary seen as platonic to dwarves; but wanting to be close in general can be
-However with a significant other this man is the biggest teddy bear
-He likes to face you when cuddling so he can see your pretty face
-Your very own personal heater/fur blanket
-Side note but maybe this is why Legolas likes him so much. I mean Legolas is kinda cat like and cats gravitate towards the warmest people to lay on
-Anyway
-He gets “grumpy” if you won’t cuddle with him
-Will pout until you give in despite being absolutely covered in dirt and you wanted to shower first
Boromir:
-He’s a little awkward about physical touch at first
-He’s a bit touch starved
-I can’t help but picture him as Arthur from the show Merlin in this scene
-It’s not so much that he doesn’t understand gentle physical touch; he is a gentle man; but he doesn’t experience it much so it’s a little foreign to him
-But once he is comfortable with you he will branch out and try initiating cuddles
-Will copy the way you initiate cuddles or any physical touch
-This man is lovely to cuddle btw
-You always feel very safe with him and he makes for a good pillow
-I headcanon that he has great tits; perfect chest to bury your face in
-He also talks a lot while cuddling; like he is just so happy to be with you that his giddiness comes out in random rambles
Frodo:
-He’s a nuzzler
-He does the little head rub on whatever he is using as a pillow when he first settles down
-Kinda like a dog spinning in circles before laying down
-If you fall asleep cuddled up just know that you will not wake up that way
-Someone is on the floor or you’ve swapped sides of the bed
-It looks like you guys were catapulted into the bed and that’s just how you landed
-Nose kisses
Sam:
-He loves to have “cuddle talks”
-Telling you about his day while you fiddle with his hair
-He’s a very intimate cuddler; likes to look into your eyes and profess his love as if it’s the first time even though he just did it yesterday too
-Not big on PDA though
-Cuddles are personal and private
-He’s not embarrassed or anything; it just feels like something too intimate for public eyes
Merry:
-He likes cuddling but in moderation
-I imagine he could get a bit claustrophobic
-Not that he doesn’t enjoy your cuddles; he just gets overwhelmed with smothering ones sometimes
-Doesn’t like being little spoon for this reason (same tho)
-I think one of his favorite positions to cuddle is with one of you sitting with your back against the others chest
-He does not care if he can’t see past you, he’s your backrest and he takes that job very seriously
Pippin:
-The biggest cuddle bug
-He is always touching someone; bumping shoulders, invading personal space, etc
-He finds comfort in being close to others and he’s not afraid to let it be known
-Spontaneous cuddle attacks
-Lots of giggles and nose boops
-If you are in bed he will “Dutch oven” you
-Gross ik
-However when his energy is worn for the day and he has gotten his playful cuddles out of the way he is the perfect teddy bear
-I mean seriously hobbits are the perfect little spoon size
-In those moments he does just enjoy the quiet and listening to your breathing as you fall asleep
Gandalf:
-Not big on cuddling
-More of the type to sit/lay where you are touching in some way but not engulfed with each other
-Maybe sitting across from eachother with your legs intertwined
-He does give the best hugs though

LoTR Characters When They Accidentally Walk in on You Changing (GN!Reader)
I love this scenario it’s so funny every time to me 😆
Warnings: bit suggestive at times
Aragorn
The ranger spun around as quickly as he'd entered, reeling so as not to face you even though all you'd done thus far was remove your coat and bare your feet to the room's open air. "My apologies," Aragorn remarked as he turned. "You assume that I would ask you to leave," you countered as the man took his first booted step away, prompting him to tentatively face you once more. "Would you not?" He asked, head tilted faintly in a hint of confusion. Questioning. "I trust you," you simply whispered in response, taking your own strides to cross the distance between you both.
Legolas
Shrugging off layer after layer, you exhaled in relief as air hit the exposed skin of your back. Leaning further, you reached forward to retrieve the lighter garment you were replacing yourself with. Before your fingers could curl and close around the soft material, the creak of the door behind you struck your ears. Turning, you started and gave a cry of shock, darting behind the rack dangling your new clothes and tugging them over your bare chest. Your wide eyes were met with the sight of Legolas in the doorway, his body whirling around even faster than yours had. “My apologies,” he told you hastily, “I did not know.” “I know,” you replied with a shaky laugh, well aware that if anyone were to peep at you it certainly wouldn’t be the elf prince, “The apology is mine. I, after all, am sorry you had to see that.” Legolas’s head tilted ever so slightly back your way at that, revealing what looked to be a dusting of pink upon his cheeks. “Don’t be,” he said.
Boromir
You had inadvertently made the decision to peel off your entire remaining clothing right as Boromir had walked in. Back to the door, you were only alerted to a presence when his voice rang out behind you. "Oh, is that what we are doing?" It was then that you swiveled on your heels, removed layer clutched against your chest and hanging down to your legs, to see Boromir unlacing his own tunic, beginning to reveal more and more of his chest. Time froze as thickly as your body, which was rendered all but unable to move in the shock of it all. "Wait, what do you mean?" At that, the man before you stopped, fingers pausing and hand steadying to reach out your way. "I'm sorry. Perhaps I misread the signs. Leaned a bit too far into my own wishes... I will depart if you ask it of me." "And if I do not?" You teased, still stood firmly in place.
Gimli
“Oh! Oh! My stars! I had no idea!” Probably against your better judgment and definitely out of pure reflex, you swiveled around toward the voice at your back. Giving a very wide-eyed, jaw-dropped Gimli a full frontal view of you in your undergarments rather than just the sight of you bent over. Your own lips parted in a gasp of shock as your gazes locked, neither body moving an inch. “Would it be better or worse if I told you you looked nice?” Chuckling, you finally broke form, body relaxing as you shook your head with a smile. “Alright, off with you,” you told him, waving a hand, but judging by Gimli’s smile, he saw right through your teasing.
Frodo
Pushing the curtain aside, you reached for where your fresh clothing hung, only for your heart to drop and flip rapidly back up again at the sight of Frodo on the other side, his tunic freshly peeled off to reveal his bare torso. With a squeak of surprise, you ducked back behind the curtain just as the hobbit’s wide blue eyes met yours. “I’m sorry,” you apologized, “Merry told me it would be alright if I dressed in this room.” “That’s strange,” you heard Frodo reply, catching the silhouette of his head tilting in confusion, flushing at the way his curls kissed the nape of his neck, “He told me the same. What a scamp! The apology should be his and his alone.” “Well,” tensing you paused for just a moment before venturing your reply, “I am not so upset with him.” “No?” Frodo sounded surprised, but pleasantly. “Me neither. The company is nice. And out of everyone I am glad it was you.” “As am I, Frodo.”
Sam
“Here Mr. Frodo, try this one on for size, it’s a mite shorter-” “Mr. Frodo? Not quite,” you shot back, ducking behind a bed in the room so only your head to shoulders showed. “Oh,” Sam exclaimed, whirling around instantaneously, “I’m sorry! I’m not a peeper, honest I didn’t mean to!” Despite the embarrassing predicament, you couldn’t resist letting the chuckle rising in your chest to escape at Sam’s words. “I know you, Sam. I know you wouldn’t. Now go, off to give Frodo his shirt!” “Oh,” the hobbit flushed, glancing once more at your ducked form before scurrying out the door, “Right.”
Merry
“Oh!” You heard Merry before you saw him, turning around to see he who made the exclamation doing the very same. “I had no idea,” the hobbit apologized, his back to you, “They said I could change in here, so I just-” “It’s fine,” you chuckled, pulling your new outfit on, “In fact, you are being quite the gentleman. Far more, I suspect, than many others in your army would be.” “Of course,” Merry replied, this time much more jovially, “I wouldn’t look unless you told me to. …Wait, that is to say…. I only mean that, well…” “I’ll tell you to if that shocks your mind back into place,” you teased him.
Pippin
A scream rang out from both of you as you swiveled around, tunic clutched in one hand and only undergarments on your person, to face a wide-eyed Pippin, who immediately turned tail and ran. Hastily throwing on your clothes, you made your way back out, where he rapidly shed apologies. “I didn’t know. Honest. I truly had no idea.” “I know,” you told him, resting a hand on his shoulder, the way his gaze tracked that motion unable to escape your notice, “I’m sorry you had to see that.” “I’m not.” Realization immediately crossed Pippin’s face, dropping his expression back into one of pure shock. “Wait. Well, I guess I just mean I don’t want you to think you look bad, because you don’t. You really don’t. But I certainly wouldn’t-” Smiling, you cut him off. “I know what you mean.”
Faramir
“H-hello?” The stuttering entreaty had you leaning, poking your head from the other side of the curtain you changed behind. Faramir. His eyes widened, clearly taken aback at the sight of you, even if all he could see was your head and one shoulder. “Oh!” He spoke your name softly as he glanced to the floor. “I will come back when you’re finished.” “Did you need something?” You asked, hands tightly gripping the curtain you hid behind. “My cloak was hanging on the other side of the room, but really, I can wait.” “Nonsense.” Letting go, you disappeared behind the veil, moving deliberately in case Faramir could see your silhouette. It seemed he could, too, for when you popped back out and dangled his coat for him, his face was quite red indeed.
Eomer
“How many times did must I remind you to- oh.” Eomer’s teasing tone dropped as soon as he found himself looking upon not the form of his expected comrade but rather of you. You as you had just removed a pair of trousers, leaving half of you clad only in undergarments and not the most of them you could have been, frankly. His smile alternately dropped and raised again, eyes trying and failing to demagnetize from the sight of your skin bared before him. You were frozen, too, looking into his hazel eyes questioningly, brows furrowing before the rose in silent inquiry. “Apologies,” Eomer told you, finally moving to incline his head, “But may I say what nice legs you have?”
Eowyn
“I’m sorry!” Eowyn apologized as soon as she stepped into the room, but you stopped her with a shake of your head. “Worry not, I’m still fully dressed! Beside that, I could actually use your help.” “Oh?” Facing you entirely, Eowyn’s golden brows rose. “Yes?” “This clasp always sticks,” you told her, back still partially turned to her, “Would you mind?” “Of course not,” she answered with a full, radiant smile. Her fingers were soft against the exposing skin of your back; you found yourself exhaling a small sigh beneath the sensation of her touch, muscles relaxing…. “It- it is loose now, isn’t it?” Almost starting, you shook free from your reverie as the fabric slid down your chest and shoulders. “Ah, yes it is. Thank you.” “Anytime I can help.” Was it your imagination or had her smile grown even wider?
Haldir
Fortunately for you, the door swung open before you had even fully unfastened the armor about your shoulders. Your head turned more to track the sound than anything else, a smile rising to your face when you met Haldir’s eyes. It was he who spoke first. “I can help you,” he suggested, sweeping some golden hair from his shoulders. Nodding, you moved again, this time to face him with your back, where you felt the gentle touch of hands upon the fastens of your steel. Weight dropped from your body as Haldir worked, finally leaving you in faintly sweat-soaked fabrics. The warmth left you at this point as Haldir stepped back, palms still bared. “I leave you here,” he told you with a small smile. “But you did so well with the rest,” you quipped back, chuckling at the elf’s flustered look when he disappeared out the door.
Galadriel
“Oh, are you changing, too?” Tilting her head at your words, Galadriel moved quietly closer, eyes fixed on yours. Never darting downward. “You have no concern for the intrusion.” Said like a statement yet clearly posing a question. Shrugging off your upper layer to nearly bare your chest, you tilt your head back at the golden-haired elf. “Have you not seen this all in your mind? I was under the impression there was little privacy in Lothlórien,” you answered simply. At that, Galadriel’s lips tugged upward, her fair brows raising too. “Not in such regards. Such things are to be kept,” she answered, “However, I must confess I have seen this before, though only in the mind’s machinations of desire.”
Elrond
Screaming the moment the intrusion began, you pelted a pair of stockings at the offender, only to feel the blood drain from your face at the sight of Lord Elrond himself with your underthings draped unceremoniously upon his shoulder, one bit even dangling off a corner of his silver circlet. “My Lord, I- I-” “I understand,” Elrond cut you off, clearly suppressing laughter, the corners of his lips tugging upward even as he fought them, “You have every right to defend yourself, and might I say quite the reflexes? I leave you in peace, of course,” he told you, hands raised and blue eyes never leaving yours, just as you would have expected of the Lord of Rivendell.
Arwen
Clothing slowly fell off your body, each piece abandoned upon the nearest rock. Warm springs rushed at your side, beckoning you with the faint steam curling from their waters. Lost in the feeling of fabric sliding off your shoulder, you had not heard the footsteps, not until they were accompanied by a soft “oh”. Arms crossing over your chest, you hurried toward the water, warmth encasing you and rising to your already heated cheeks. Relief flooded your body, though, exhaling throughout you when you saw it was Arwen. Her eyes met yours as you sunk in deeper, then stood fully again, a flicker of hope swimming in the blue therein. A nod was all it took from you for her hand to begin working fabric off her own shoulders, lips curling faintly upward.

Being a Maia Witch and in the Fellowship • Headcanon
(Gif not mine)
Request: Hi, if you're taking requests, can I get headcanons for the Fellowship? The reader is a Maia witch and is sort of a colleague of Gandalf's but he's also a bit of a mentor. Just interested to see how you think everyone would interact with the reader :) thank you so much and I hope you stay safe, happy, and healthy — anon
Warnings: reader is one of the blue wizards, mostly gender neutral though you are called a witch, mix of book and movie canon
A.N: Thank you so much for your kind words! I hope you enjoy these hcs, I really enjoy writing about the fellowship!
•
Since stepping foot on Middle Earth you had always been a wanderer
Of course you had spent time with the other Maiar; though you had your own specialized magic, Gandalf mentored you a lot
You always felt closer to Radagast the Brown; he cared deeply about nature and the living world that you lived in
You had been known to almost vanish for years at a time, exploring some deep cavern or somewhere high in mountains, it was always on a whim
You were elusive--all the races of Middle Earth had their own names and tall tales about you
But as the Age of the Elves starts to dwindle you start to ease down on the amount of adventures you have
Until your dear old friend Gandalf the Grey shows up on your doorstep out of breath with and almost crazed look in his eyes
A hobbit has the One Ring
So much for not traveling
You join the Fellowship at the Council of Elrond--no one opposes having another magical being in their midst
You try to get to know the other members better, it has been some time since you have interacted with people so your communication skills are a little rusty
Gandalf trusts you, of course, he is thrilled you have agreed to join them
He confides in you about the quest and the situation; things he would not tell the others
You two understand each other in a way no one else in the Fellowship can
The two of you, to fill the time, talk about your own travels and the history of Middle Earth
"You have been gone for too long, (Y/n), Middle Earth has suffered in your absence."
"Oh Gandalf, I needed to see everything before it was too late."
Boromir is a little wary of you, in Gondor they believe your presence is a bad omen since you do not show yourself too frequently near Minas Tirith
He warms up to you while travelling to the Mines of Moria because you and Gandalf exerted so much power trying to save them
"You are not the ill portent my father has talked about, witch. Why did you avoid Minas Tirith for so long?"
Aragorn has probably seen glimpses of you throughout his life and because of his travels he has heard many stories about you
Honestly he's very intrigued and asks many questions about what you have seen
He really trusts you almost immediately, you were welcomed in Rivendell, showing that Elrond trusted you
In Lothlorien Galadriel also holds you in high esteem, she's surprised you're in the Fellowship; not because you do not care about the fate of Middle Earth, but because you never tend to stay in one place long
"You must guide me, (Y/n). With Gandalf lost...I cannot proceed without council..."
Legolas is all over you--endless questions about the world and the time that has passed, but in like a subdued manner
He trusts you, though in recent years your reputation has been tarnished by his father, who is of the thought that you and the other wizards should have helped them fight against the spiders. He believes the Greenwood fell to darkness due to the negligence of the wizards
"Do you believe the Greenwood will be cured after we destroy the Ring, (Y/n)? I have missed my home..."
Gimli goes through the motions of meeting a witch only a handful of people have encountered in your lifetime
He's the one that discovered your sense of humor and loves joking with you
You ask him about recent dwarven culture, dwarves are wary of outsiders so it has been a while since you have seen their tools and creations
"Just you wait, lass, what we have created is unlike anything you have ever seen!"
Merry is genuinely delighted that you joined them
He feels a lot safer with two wizards, even if you’re not that experienced with fighting
Merry trusts your judgement and certainly looks for your approval just like he does with Gandalf
(Also please show him magic he loves Gandalf’s fireworks and he wants to see what else magic can do since Gandalf doesn’t really show anyone that stuff)
“Can you make Boromir’s shield disappear, (Y/n)? Or perhaps make Legolas’ hair a different color?”
Pippin is like Merry on crack
He wants to know every little detail about everything but at the same time he is chewing your ear off
Honestly he’s probably telling you his life story too
He enjoys your company, like Merry he feels a lot more secure in this quest and he also comes to see you as a friend
Wants to see your magic, even if you just create sparks at your fingertips
Probably your number one fan
“Can I see your staff (Y/n)? I promise not to use it to singe Gandalf’s beard!”
Sam is very shy around you and is very protective of Frodo
Sure Gandalf trusts you, but you’ve only ever been a fable in the Shire
He knows nothing about you, what have you been doing this entire time?
He does warm up to you, though, once you prove to him that you are truly there to help them succeed
Learns a lot about herbs from you, whether they be for cooking or medicine
“Tell me about the Elves, (Y/n). You must know so much about them. Rivendell was so beautiful…”
Frodo is highly suspicious of you for quite a while
It is mostly because he is afraid of the Ring and its influence
He doesn’t know you like he knows Gandalf so it takes him a bit to trust you
Bilbo has only told him rumors of you
It isn’t until Gandalf dies that he really starts looking to you for guidance
He takes to you mostly at night when everyone is asleep because he is away from prying eyes
“This quest leads me to my death, doesn’t it witch? I do not know how to even begin to understand that…”
Overall you guys learn to bond and grow together throughout the quest
You have never been so happy to be around people despite the circumstances, and you start to understand why Gandalf has always been so involved with the people of Middle Earth

Hello! Can you do a headcanon on how the fellowship reacts to the 10th member being so oblivious to flirting?
Thanks so much anon! Sorry it's taken me a bit to answer, but hopefully you enjoy these <3
*・༓˚✧❝𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬-𝐭𝐨-𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐡-𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐫❞‧͙⁺˚༓˚✧ « headcanons »

GN!Reader | No TWs | Wordcount : 1k
𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐧
✧ His main ways of showing affection/romance isn’t flirting, so if you pick up on him being more caring/his eyes constantly drifting to you/wanting to listen to you speak then you’re good.
✧ However, if you miss all of those queues as well, eventually he does realise he needs to be more obvious.
✧ Aragorn is pretty good at flirting, the voice definitely puts it from good to pretty good, although a lot of his lines are still done when he’s close to you.
✧ The two of you will be leaning against a wall and he’ll come closer before saying something.
✧ And then you still don’t figure it out.
✧ Confesses pretty quickly after realising it isn’t going to happen any other way.
✧ Will still flirt with you, especially after a fight. Grins when you just look at him like ‘???’
✧ Eventually you understand when he’s doing it, although that’s more because he’ll always come very close to you before saying something. (Comes up behind and hugs before whispering in your ear.)
𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐬
✧ Also a more traditional romantic, except whenever he takes you on long walks with him it always ends up with one of you infodumping about some flora/fauna you’ve seen.
✧ Still loves you for it, but decides to try a different approach.
✧ Merry and Pippin decide to step in and help their good friend Legolas, and give him some of the worst flirting lines anyone has ever heard (made most of them up).
✧ Says them to you in his softest voice, before staring deep into your eyes and trying to see if you liked it.
✧ You just end up in weird staring contests until he looks away, or you ask him what he said and he repeats it (you still don’t get it).
✧ Isn’t sure what he’s doing wrong.
✧ Asks Aragorn to help, and does spend a night trying to flirt with the ranger as though he were you.
✧ Aragorn has far too much fun during this, and Legolas takes it far too seriously.
𝐆𝐢𝐦𝐥𝐢
✧ Is also so confused as to how you’re not getting it, and what he’s doing wrong.
✧ But he is a great smooth-talker, genuinely 10/10 lines. Has one for most occasions, and in most tones.
✧ Does experiment to try and find which ones you like and is just so confused as to why none make you blush.
✧ Eventually realises it’s because you’re being oblivious and not because his lines are bad (which is a big relief for him).
✧ Finally, after saying a great line to you, he gets exasperated and asks if you even know he’s flirting with you.
✧ You immediately go red, and he takes that as a ‘no’.
✧ Grins and asks if you’d like to hear any for a second time.
𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐫
✧ Mainly shows affection by physical touch and acts of service. His loving words to you and generally acts of praise, or asking you to continue talking - he’s better at listening.
✧ Is also given advice by Merry and Pippin to flirt with you, although he recognises how bad their lines are and genuinely asks them if any of these have ever worked before.
✧ Does not believe them if they say yes.
✧ He has experience with flirting, although it’s generally over ale and with people flirting at him - not the other way around.
✧ At first is more subtle with his flirting. Then, when you aren’t getting it, it eventually devolves into much more obvious flirting - the kind used at slightly seedy bars.
✧ Knows from experience (himself) about people being oblivious to flirting so eventually just confesses.
✧ Still flirts to see the ‘???’ face and laughs before hugging you, telling you he loves you if you ask what he meant.
𝐏𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧
✧ Good at flirting, but not in a serious or romantic way. He’s better at getting a smile from his lines, and getting his feelings across, than he is actually starting something intimate.
✧ Flirts quite often from the day he meets you, and doesn’t realise you’re not understanding them.
✧ Slowly gets more dejected until Merry is like, ‘you know they haven’t picked up on you flirting with them?’
✧ Instantly brightens.
✧ Flirts quickly get more and more obnoxious. Gandalf audibly sighs at quite a few.
✧ Eventually tells a very obvious one while looking directly into your eyes and winking.
✧ Takes a lot of pleasure in your embarrassment, will take advantage of you finally realising he’s been flirting with you and tell you almost every line.
✧ Occasionally comes up to you and says something random but with a wink - you then have to guess if it’s a genuine pick-up line or nonsense.
𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲
✧ Quite similar to Pippin, although his pick-up lines are slightly better.
✧ Uses them as a way to subtly show his feelings to people, as a way of confessing without the harshness of rejection.
✧ Catches on fairly quickly that you’re pretty oblivious. Has a small amount of fun with it.
✧ Makes some small bets about if you’re going to notice him flirting (mainly with Merry, very occasionally Aragorn, Boromir, Gimli, and Gandalf join in. Legolas could, but just bets with Aragorn).
✧ Confesses normally to you.
✧ Attempts to rig the gambling ring by telling you how you should act ahead of time - this is quickly discovered.
𝐒𝐚𝐦
✧ Sweet, little Sam.
✧ Cannot flirt for the life of him. He truly is trying.
✧ Even gets coaching from Merry and Pippin (and a pep talk from Frodo) to try.
✧ Doesn’t realise you’re oblivious because he’s also so bad at it.
𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐨
✧ Frodo is surprisingly good at flirting, he just never uses them.
✧ And whenever he does there’s always a slight aura of him being uncomfortable about them. It’s subtle, but it’s there.
✧ Wouldn’t use them as a way to show you his feelings, and would confess before flirting with you.
✧ Does it very occasionally, and when you don’t realise he grins a little.
✧ Tries flirting a bit more, you don’t pick up on any of it, and lets you know at the end of the night.
✧ Very occasionally would flirt with you - but if he’s going to talk to you with romance in mind, he rather be vulnerable and open than flirt.
Hopefully you enjoyed! In any case, I'm thankful you stuck around until the end <3

Best friends father
Heavily based on best friends brother from victorious lmfao. But this is a very funny request that you can find here
(gif not mine:)
Pairing: Thranduil x Elf!reader
Summary: Legolas and Thranduil have no idea of each others roles in your life
Warnings: none
Category: fluff, fluff, and more fluff
Word count: 1.6k
----------------------
Twisting branches hovered high above her and all around her, whistles of the wind through the trees lingered through her ears like an eerie song sung just for her. She glanced around the path, knowing he was out there somewhere, he played this game with her all the time. However this time she was determined to win it. She felt chills crawl up her spine and she nocked an arrow in the blink of an eye, turning her body and releasing the arrow further up.
He felt the brush of the arrow graze his arm and he knew she had won. He swung from branch to branch and landed in front of her on his two feet, she watched his hair fall down back into place perfectly and she giggled, crossing her arms. “You know what, I'll give that one to you. I'm impressed.” He swung his bow back over his shoulder.
“Legolas it is quite rude to underestimate a lady” She told the white haired elf who stared down at her in amusement. “Sorry…if i'm not mistaken, i've won every single time, until now. So I think it was fair” Legolas joked back, only poking at you playfully.
She’d known Legolas for a good thousand years by now, they met during a trading with Imladris and since then they were glued together at the hip. Best friends some would say but if you asked her, she'd tell you he's some silly dumb ass who doesn't know how to handle his elven wine.
“You just insist on making sure i know you're better than me.'' She gave him a playful eyeroll and began their walk back to the main palace, knowing they both have duties to tend to. “I assume once we return you'll be going off with your mystery lover?” Legolas teased, knowing lately she'd been quite infatuated and busied with her new asset. He was glad she had finally found someone in her life, he felt like a proud brother. (the irony im so sorry)
“You'd be correct, elf boy. Hopefully he's feeling extra nice today..” She teased, knowing Legolas hated hearing the descriptive details of their relationship.
Legolas groaned in agony and shook his head at her suggestive and very unnecessary comment. “I have never met a more interesting creature.” He used his index finger to push at her shoulder jokingly as they approached the main gates. She gave him a playful smile and chuckled to herself as the guards let them into the kingdom.
“Farewell my friend, late nightfall?” Legolas spoke as he began to walk in the opposite direction of her, waiting for her reply before he turned around.
“Late nightfall it is! Don't miss me too much!”
She bowed to him dramatically and watched him turn around and walk off, she did the same. Only she waited until he was completely out of her sight before she began walking to the palace, her head facing the ground to hide from onlookers. Not that it necessarily mattered, however she wouldn't appreciate it if someone decided to gossip to the prince of her private whereabouts. She made her way down the main hall to the throne room, the guards allowing her through with the command of the king.
She saw him perched upon his beautiful throne, his autumn crown complimenting his head and his blinding white hair fell down his shoulders perfectly, not one hair out of place. He was always a sight to see no matter how many times she'd see him.
He caught her scent long before she even entered the throne room, his head positioned downward at the elf that approached him, her sweet presence instantly making his whole body relax from its usual tense state.
“It is more than a pleasure to see you here, for I have missed you dearly.” his deep voice boomed throughout the entire room as he stood up and began descending from the stairs to meet her at the bottom.
“It was like trying to swat a fly from your drink trying to get rid of him” she chuckled and met him halfway, looking up at him while his arms wrapped around her waist tenderly, pulling her flush against his body in a warm embrace. He ran a hand down the back of her head, smoothing down her hair as he placed a kiss on her forehead. “He seems persistent” he said, a bit jealous of her other companion no matter how many times she would reassure him it's not like that, nor will it ever be.
She just gave him a feigned look of annoyance and brought a hand up to place on his cheek, her thumb caressing his cheekbone gently. “My dear Thranduil, soon you will see the silliness of your jealousy.” she teased him, knowing he hated being called out on his feelings. “Do you insist on making me miserable, my lady?” He gave her a heartfelt smile and placed a hand on her back, gesturing for her to go to the private doors, doors which only the king and prince were allowed to use. They were passages that lead to everything, just quicker and more discrete.
Every day, Thranduil took her to a new place, slowly showing her every beauty Mirkwood had to offer. His love for her grew every day and only made him want to do anything for her, anything he could. Today he was taking her to the Amaranthine Garden, the specific flora only visible to the royals. He was sure you'd love it for it is one of the few ethereal gardens amongst the elves.
Legolas was speaking with a royal guard, telling them about this morning’s duties, sending him off to go inform the rest. Right before he was about to walk back to the main quarters he was stopped by a messenger who handed him an envelope, he looked on the back seeing it was addressed to Thranduil. He cursed these damned messengers for not just giving it directly to his father, that was something he would also discuss with his father when he gave this to him.
He entered the throne room and found it empty..how strange. He never left his throne around these times unless it was severely important. He searched the room a bit and even called out for him but there was silence. That was until he spotted the private corridors left cracked. He could see the light emitting from the small opening of the door and approached it, he opened it fully but saw no one. Yet he got a whiff of a very familiar scent mixed with his fathers. It made him a little uncomfortable, he was determined to get to the bottom of this, something was up. So down the halls he went, peeking inside every single room, basically sniffing his father out like a dog.
She had her hand around his back and her body pressed into his side while he held her close, showing her the garden and telling her all about the unique plants she'd never seen before. There wasn't a second of this moment where she didn't have a smile on her face as her beloved spoke so gently.
Thranduil bent down at his knees and carefully picked a beautiful bunch of Rhododendrons, pulling a thread from his pocket and tying the flowers at the stem, holding it out for her. She felt like a princess when she was with him, he treated her with the utmost respect. She took the flowers from him and smiled kindly. “Thranduil you never fail to put a smile on my face, you know that?” She set the flowers in her satchel and placed her hands on his chest.
“I live and breathe to please you meleth nin. I thought it was quite obvious.”
She giggled at this and felt his hands sneak to her waist, caressing her like a teenage boy, until his head snapped in the direction of the door that led back inside.
“What is my sweet?” she looked at him with quite the confused look until she heard a voice all too familiar.
“Well if it isnt y/n and her mystery lover.” Legolas stood before them with his arms crossed as if he just caught a child sneaking into the cookie jar.
Her head fell to Thranduil's chest in defeat, knowing she'd been caught red handed. Thranduil however was utterly confused, he hadn't put the pieces together just yet. Legolas approached them and she pulled from Thranduil, meeting Legolas in front of them. She sighed and placed a hand on Legolas’ shoulder. “To be completely fair, you see why i didn't tell you” she joked and looked up to Thranduil.
“Meet the best friend.” she spoke sheepishly with a weak smile and Thranduil just simply sighed in utter annoyance at this childish situation. “So you were able to keep both of our identities secret from each other, and this is how we find out? You never fail to surprise me little one” He placed a hand on her lower back and gave Legolas an unimpressed look.
“I think you might find yourself with an arrow in your chest while you sleep tonight” Legolas playfully threatened. “That's if you wish to go blind, you'll find me cosying up with your father in a not so friendly manner.” She shot back, earning a chuckle from Thranduil and a gag from Legolas.
“I curse you woman.” Legolas turned around to leave them. “And I curse you father, you'll be lucky if you don't find poison in your wine tonight” He said before leaving dramatically, leaving her and Thranduil to laugh amongst themselves.
“I think that went great!” she tried weakly as Thranduil simply shook his head and continued their walk through the garden.

Things I never felt before
Pairing: Legolas Thranduilion x reader
Summary: You are Legolas' lover, he courted you before you both left to destroy the one ring. You are a healer who is needed almost all the times and a motherly figure to the hobbits.
A/n: My Lotr/Hobbit obsession has again started after I saw my husband, Legolas, in a youtube video. Anyways, Thank you for reading!
______________ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ___________________
The Fellowship had been assembled. Tens companions in total. Aragorn, the son of Arathorn. Legolas, son of Thranduil. Gimli, son of Gloin. The four hobbits- Frodo, the ring bearer, Sam, Merry and Pippin. Gandalf the Grey. Boromir, son of the Steward of Gondor.
And..Y/n, daughter of Lord Elrond. The only female.. Lover of Legolas Thranduilion....
Her father didn't want her to join, thinking she would get hurt. But her abilities, knowledge and skill is something that the Fellowship required.
The elves of Rivendell were sailing off to the Undying lands. Yet she told her father she would not. She would stay with Legolas.
The Fellowship left Rivendell after bidding goodbye. Arwen almost did cry to see her little sister go on a dangerous quest, she felt a bit of peace as she knew her sister had someone to protect her.
And so...their journey began....
_________________________________________
The fellowship were aiming for the gap of Rohan. After a while of walking the mountains they had stopped near a pile of giant rocks, some of which even looked as if they are stacked.
You handed a plate of food to Sam to give to Frodo. The others had already eaten. After doing so you blew out the fire and sat next to Frodo and watched Merry and Pippin train while Legolas was looking out for any enemies.
"One. Two. Good!" Boromir said, sword clanging against another.
"You got good Pippin" Merry said to Pippin.
"Thanks"
"Move your feet" Aragorn said.
Frodo looked at you and smiled.
"Ah!" Pippin squealed
"Sorry!" Boromir said. The two young hobbits tackled him on the ground as the three of you watched.
"hold him!" "For the shire!"
You gently laughed as you saw the two hobbits tackle Aragorn who tried to help Boromir. Aragorn groaned as fell on the ground as well.
Pippin got up and ran to you.
"Y/n I've got a cut on my finger. It hurts." He looked at you with his adorable little Hobbit eyes which melted your heart.
"Ah.. come with me, I will put some medicine." You led the little Hobbit to where the fire once was.
You were putting a healing balm on his hand. You turned your head and saw Legolas jump from one rock to another and stand on a giant boulder.
You finished applying the medicine and smile at Pippin as he runs to Merry. You got up from the ground and stand near Legolas.
Him standing on a boulder gave him better view whilst you stood on the ground, adjusting you satchel. You were shorter than Legolas too which gives him the tall height advantage.
"What's that?" One of the members asked.
"Oh nothing it's just a wisp of clouds." Came Gimli's reply.
"It's moving fast.. against the wind.." Boromir said, getting up from the ground with Merry and Pippin.
"Crebain from Dunland!" Legolas shouted.
"Hide!" Aragorn shouted.
"Hurry. Frodo.." you said as you guided Sam and Frodo to cover.
As crebains flew away, everyone got out from their hideout.
"Spies of ... Saruman! The passage south is being watched. We must take the path of caradhras." Said Gandalf.
You looked at Legolas as he gently held your hand.
_________________________________________
The path of Caradhras was difficult. Thick snow, extreme cold, heavy snowfall. Elves do not mind cold very much but the others do. So you and Legolas walked in the front.
You, Legolas and the others got stuck in the snow when a huge chunk of snow fell from above.
You helped Sam out of the snow and then got out yourself. Sam went to Boromir's side.
"There is fell voice on the air" said Legolas.
"It's Saruman!" Shouted Gandalf.
"He's trying to bring down the mountains" Aragorn said as well.
Gandalf started to chant a spell in Imladris to try and stop. But alas it did not work.
It was decided that the fellowship would go through the Mines of Moria. It was chosen by Frodo.
_________________________________________
Gimli sat down a bit away from the door. The Door of Moria was yet to open. Gandalf had tried all the password that he could come up with but it didn't work.
You and Legolas sat on a log. The two of you braided each other's hair. You saw Gandalf sigh of defeat. Legolas got up and walked around to see any incoming danger.
You went to Gandalf and stood in front of the door before looking at Gandalf. He looked at you.
"It is riddle......" You said.
"A riddle you say?" He replied.
"Mellōn" you said as the doors opened the Hobbits running towards you at once.
The events that occurred after that...were too cruel for all of you...
_________________________________________
The hobbits were shedding tears. Gimli was trying to get back in the mine but Boromir didn't let him. You sat on a boulder, unable to accept the reality like Legolas.
"Get them up Legolas, Y/n." Aragorn spoke to you and Legolas. Legolas came up to you and placed his hand on your back. You looked up from the ground to his eyes. He could see the pain in your eyes, for he too feels it.
"Give them a moment for pity's sake!" Boromir shouted.
"By nightfall these hills will be swarming with orcs. We must make for the woods of Lothlorien." Reasoned Aragorn.
"Come, Boromir, Legolas, Gimli, Y/n get them up." Aragorn said as walked up to Sam and held him up.
You got up from the boulder and gave Legolas a nod, after which you went to the hobbits, asking if anyone got injured.
_________________________________________
You and Legolas were close to eachother. Fingers intertwined as you walked through the woods. Aragorn was leading the way.
"I have the eyes of a hawk and the ears of a fox." Said Gimli as he almost got himself pierced by an arrow of a Lothlorian guard.
"A dwarve breathes so loud, we would've shot him in the dark" Said Haldir, an old acquaintance.
_________________________________________
"Mae g'ovannen Legolas Thranduilion, Y/n Elerondiel." Said Haldir. Welcome Legolas, son of Thranduilion, Y/n, daughter of Elrond.
"Ah, Aragorn in Dunedain. Istannen le ammen." Oh, Aragorn of Dúnedain. You are known to us. Haldir spoke, turning to Aragorn.
"Haldir." Aragorn greeted him.
"So much for the legendary courtesy of elves! Speak words we can all understand!" Spoke Gimli, annoyed because he couldn't understand what was being spoken.
Haldir simply turned to Gimli and spoke.
"We have not had dealings with the dwarves since the dark days."
"And you know what this dwarves says to that? Ishkhaqwi ai durugnul!" I spit on your grave.
"That was not so courteous" Aragorn intervened.
Haldir looked at Fellowship and then to Frodo.
"You bring great evil here.... You can go no further."
_________________________________________
You sat like the rest of the Fellowship while Legolas stood. Aragorn trying to convince Haldir to let you all stay the night.
Frodo saw Legolas look at him as the others looked at him too. He felt guilty. As if they are blaming him.
Frodo got up and went to you. He came to you and sat beside you as you opened your arms. He came in and laid his head on your chest as you hummed. He looked up in the sky and then closed his eyes.
Legolas saw you two cuddled up. He felt warm at the scene. Many would feel jealous at the sight of their lover with someone else but Legolas felt love for you grow further.
You and Frodo looked like mother and son. You ran you fingers through his head and held him close like a mother would.
Legolas smiled a little seeing you both. He imagined how it would be when the two of you would have children together.
_________________________________________
Night had fallen. Most of the Fellowship had gotten fallen asleep. Aragorn was with Boromir.
You and Legolas were in your sleeping place. He had re-braided your hair and you were currently doing his.
You ran your fingers through his hair, trying to untangle any knots.
"Melēth nin, what would do after all of this is over?" You asked him.
"Ah..... The first thing I would do is to marry you. I would still need to think of what to do next." He replied.
His reply made you blush a bit. The sad atmosphere lifting up a bit.
"I would have a big family with you, nin melēth. I imagine it every time I see you with the little hobbits. You would make an excellent mother to our little elflings." He continued.
Your ears had turned pink. You laughed gently as you finished braiding his hair. He got up from the ground and went to your side.
He sat down beside you and kissed you passionately. It was slow but filled with deep love.
Elves love once. They love slow but when they do, they love hard.
After a minute, his lips seperated yours. Your lungs felt empty before you inhaled air.
He laid down and patted the place beside him. You went to his side and laid your head on his chest.
Soon after you drifted off to sleep. Soft snores made Legolas smile. The world was harsh... But you both had each other and that was enough.
He ran his hand over your head, soothing you. He drifted off to sleep after sometime. He fell asleep admiring your beauty. He had said something before doing so.
It was what he felt since he met you the first time.
"You make me feel.. Things I never felt before..."
-Lillian

Got inspired recently to write a Legolas x Reader angst fic, but I'm not sure if there's a market for it. Will possibly continue if people are interested :)
(Part two)
“Lady Arwen, may I ask a question of you?” Asked Frodo, looking up to the tall she-elf who stood before him. He had followed her fluttering navy skirts into one of the lush, green courtyards within the citadel of Rivendell. Originally, he had been searching for someone else in particular but had trouble finding her. Naught for lack of effort, but it had only been a few days since the incident on Weathertop, and he was yet to become accustomed to the breezy walkways of the forest city. He figured that is if he could not find the she-elf he had the intention of finding, then the lady Arwen would surely have answers. Arwen turned to face Frodo with effortless grace, and Frodo found himself once again understanding the admiration Strider had for her.
“Ask away young hobbit,” Arwen encouraged with a soft smile on her face.
“Who was the lady that rode with us to Rivendell? In my delirium I did not see her face and I was to thank her for her efforts,” Frodo asked in return, thinking of the (H/C) hair which flowed on the accompanying dappled horse behind him. He had searched for another maiden but had yet to see her. Arwen’s smile softened even more if possible, and a care took over her eyes.
“That is Elron’s youngest daughter, my sister (Y/N),” Arwen replied sweetly, clearly remembering her sister fondly at the mention of her name. “She is one of our finest riders and is quite knowledgeable in many arts. She rode with us as a precaution, Strider feared your injury graver than what it thankfully was.”
“Where can I find her?” Frodo questioned further, eager to see the youngest child of Rivendell again. Her touch had been tender and kind, and Frodo was not the type of Hobbit to not properly thank those who had helped him. Arwen’s face however fell slightly in the slightest of ways, a quiet grief overtaking her eyes while her soft smile remained for Frodo.
“She will be in her chambers now. She does not oft leave them…” Arwen trailed off, her body turning towards one of the many quarters in Rivendell, evidently (Y/N)’s. Frodo raised an eyebrow at this, and he continued his line of inquiry.
“Why does she lock herself away? Especially with all the visitors here now,” Frodo commented, thinking to how the day before numerous messengers, nobles, and representatives from all corners of Middle Earth. He himself had been overwhelmed, and he recalled hiding behind a balcony with the other Hobbits. Merry and Pippin had joked about all the royalty that had arrived, while Sam and himself simply watched. They had never seen so many important people in one place, and Frodo’s stomach had grown heavy knowing it was about the burden he now carried. That was partly why he had tried to find (Y/N) in the first place, he wanted to occupy his mind with thoughts beside that of the Ring.
“The man she loves is here,” Arwen replied lightly. Frodo raised an eyebrow at this.
“So then why is she hiding away instead of seeking his company?” He inquired further.
“He does not love her in return,’ Arwen’s tone was light, but Frodo could tell by her gaze, which still lingered on her sister’s chambers, that there was a slight grief to her words. Frodo was startled by this, thinking of the (H/C) haired lady’s ethereal beauty that rivaled that of the elf in front of him. He thought of how she effortlessly kept up with her sister and was unflinching in her dedication to helping him. Both of Elrond’s daughters had been dauntless in the face of danger, and even if Arwen’s courage was more forthcoming, he had heard (Y/N) instructing her sister of the route, aiding in their swift return.
“What happened, if I may ask?” Frodo asked softly, looking up hopefully to Arwen as she turned once again towards him. Her hair fell softly from her shoulders as she turned forward, before she gracefully seated herself on one of the many marble benches that occupied the courtyard. She gently pet the empty spot next to her on the bench, inviting Frodo forward to sit with her. He did as she said, however with a bit more difficulty as he clambered up, hurling himself on top with his upper body strength.
“It is a tale well-known to all Elves, so I see no reason to keep it from you dear Frodo,” She replied, before sighing softly.
“(Y/N), as Elrond’s youngest daughter, has always felt a need to prove her value. Since she was a young elfling she engrossed herself in studies of nature, manners, politics, battle, all areas she was allowed to. She was always outgoing, in fact I have fond memories of beckoning her to climb down from the tall trees surrounding Rivendell. My entire family cared dearly for her, she is my only sister, and being the youngest girl she is treated as fragile. Despite her efforts to prove herself worthy of admiration from others, I know my sister is insecure of her worth beyond being a high-born elf. Father, however, was immensely proud of her, and upon seeing her interest and natural aptitude in politics asked her to accompany him on diplomatic journeys since she was a girl. That is when she first met the elf she loves.
On a journey to Mirkwood she met their Prince, Legolas, a skilled archer and sworn protector of Mirkwood’s forest. She had previously struggled to prove herself in front of other high elves but found herself floundering even more upon meeting the prince. In the words she shared with me when she returned from this trip, he was tall, handsome and unfathomably skilled in archer and leadership. At that time, he was the head of a division of Mirkwood’s forces, and I believe he himself was struggling to prove himself to his father. (Y/N), upon seeing herself in Legolas, made great efforts to impress him with her skills. Legolas did not take well to it at first, believing her to try and embarrass him in front of his father, the king of Mirkwood. He retaliated with similar efforts, ultimately causing great rivalry between the two.
It was this way for decades, and I saw firsthand their hatred towards each other when Legolas came to Rivendell with his father. I could tell however that beneath her hateful façade, (Y/N) cared deeply for Legolas. The few times they were not fighting they would sneak off together, and although (Y/N) told me they were simply competing to see who was more adept in various skills, my brothers and I could tell that she was falling quickly for the blonde-haired prince. Slowly, over a long time, Legolas softened toward my sister, and they often snuck away from the respective citadels to spend time together in the forest. I caught them both once, in a similar position to my sister when she was younger. They sat upon the top branches of one of the highest trees bordering Rivendell, laughing heartily to each other as they gazed across the landscape together.
At one point father suggested an alliance between Mirkwood and Rivendell through their marriage, but I was quick to inform him of my sister’s true, underlying feelings. Though she had confessed to me that she was falling for Legolas, she feared he did not feel the same. She recounted to me all their time together, the soft touches and tender words which had made her fall under his spell. They had a shared love of the forest which has ultimately led to the end of their rivalry, and the beginning of their shared companionship. She told me about how once Legolas had absent mindedly given her a purple wildflower which sprouted from their favourite shared tree, and that she had it pressed in her favourite book. Although she knew she was infatuated with him, she also thought that Legolas did not love her the same, let alone think of her that way. Upon telling her of father’s suggestion, she endeavoured to tell Legolas her feelings herself to confirm her thoughts.
Father held a feast in honour of Legolas and his father, and (Y/N) asked Legolas to sneak away with her. Soon after Legolas returned to the feast without her. I rose to find her, but Legolas halted me in my efforts before going to find her again himself. Days later, when Legolas and his father had left to return to Mirkwood, I found her sobbing in her chambers. She told me all that had happened. She had told Legolas of her love and admiration for him, and he had frozen for a moment, before responding that he did not love her in return. She had fled to her chambers, only for him to find her later and stay by her side late into the night as she cried. Apparently, he claimed to care deeply for her despite not loving her and could not bring himself to leave her in such a state. He watched her sob throughout the night, before she finally could not bare his presence anymore and bade him leave her chambers the following morning. For many moons she did not leave her chambers, and I feared she may die of a broken heart. When Elves love someone so strongly, it may chance destroy us. Although in recent years she has left her chambers, she still refuses to see Legolas and hides herself away whenever he visits. That is why even now, when Middle-Earth is in most peril, she cannot find it in herself to face him,” Arwen finished, before her eyes lit up softly as she gazed at her sister’s chambers. Frodo, after finally processing the heavy tale presented to him, followed her gaze to finally spot (Y/N). She had emerged from her chambers to stand on her balcony, her own eyes unusually heavy for an elf. She was smiling softly to Arwen, though it did not reach her eyes, or even her cheeks really. Her gown, a gorgeous flowing violet that most vibrant of flowers Frodo had ever seen, was slightly crumped, and Frodo assumed this was due to her hiding away in her chambers. (Y/N) waved enthusiastically to Arwen, clearly trying to summon as much energy as she had to greet her sister and the Hobbit beside her. Her (H/L) (H/C) hair flowed in the light breeze, creating a halo around her form.
As Frodo waved back kindly to her along with Arwen, he found himself wondering who Legolas truly was, and how he could reject this beautiful elf. From what Arwen inferred; Legolas had not exactly made an effort to repair (Y/N)’s trust after her confession. There was a distinctive rumble of two sets of boots along the marble floors which led to the courtyard, and Frodo turned to see who was disturbing the peace of the greenery he shared with Arwen. As he and Arwen turned to face who had approached them, the two smiled upon seeing Strider, or rather Aragorn. Arwen rose quickly to greet her lover, while Frodo looked beyond the embracing couple to view the other man behind them. A tall, lean and blonde elf stood behind them, watching them embrace with an almost unreadable expression. His posture was refined, and Frodo found his eyes trailing to the quiver strapped to the elf. He was an Archer. He watched as the elf’s eyes turned to where Frodo had been looking before, looking sad and longing. Frodo turned, desiring to see (Y/N)’s react to the elf, only to see a peak of her violet skirts retreating back into her chambers. Oh. This elf must be Legolas.
“Frodo, I want to introduce you to Legolas, my close friend and confidant,” Aragorn confirmed Frodo’s thoughts as he turned back to face the three taller figures. Aragorn now stood beside Legolas, clasping a hand amiably to his shoulder. Arwen stood beside the two and regarded Legolas quietly. This surprised Frodo, as he assumed that Arwen would harbour hatred for the prince. Instead, she looked at him as if he were a friend, and knowing of Aragorn and Arwen’s relationship, it almost made sense that she did not despise him. Yet, underlying all that outward friendliness, Frodo noted something deeper, almost a look of pity. He did not understand it, but perhaps there was more to Legolas and (Y/N)’s story than what had been shared already.
~*~
It was evening in Rivendell now, the full moon illuminating the halls which shone back quietly in return. Legolas found himself drawn towards her chambers after the meeting of the Ring. He would be leaving tomorrow with the Fellowship, and as always when he was in Rivendell nowadays, he felt he had unfinished business. He knew the pathway like the back of his hand, and his feet carried him with a heaviness he felt only in her presence. Usually Legolas was agile, lithe on his feet, but the closer he got to her, the more he felt like a bumbling idiot. Earlier that day he had seen her again, if only a glimpse of face when he had met the ring bearer in the courtyard. (Y/N) had scurried quickly back into her chambers upon seeing him, and Legolas felt mournful as he was unable to see her beautiful face clearly. He endeavoured to at least say goodbye to her, after everything that had happened between them, she was still one of the closest friends he had ever had. As his feet carried him further into the night, he fondly remembered the many times they had spent together. The one that sprung to mind in particular was when he snuck out of the official arrival ceremony once to try and surprise (Y/N) with his presence. Instead of finding her within the citadel of Rivendell, he had found her nestled under a one of the fuller trees in the forest. Shaded completely from the midday sunshine by the evergreen leaves, she sat with a book open and surprisingly, an eagle by her side. The eagle, mighty in wingspan and intimidating in aura, was instead snuggled in her side, hidden partially by her flowing (H/C) locks. Although she was convinced that she was intimidating force, he knew in that moment that her influence and power was one which stemmed from kindness.
Legolas smiled faintly to himself as his mind retraced the memory that it had held so dear, until the smile dropped completely to allow for a solemn frown to occupy his lips instead. He had arrived at her door.
“(Y/N), may I speak with you?” Legolas asked tentatively, his voice almost getting lost in his throat. How long had it been since he had tried to talk to her last? Years, decades, perhaps more? He cursed himself softly, both at his lack of confidence and inability to speak to her. He racked his mind, trying to find a reason for his cowardly actions toward her when suddenly her door opened. There she stood, as beautiful as she had ever been, and yet his eyes were immediately drawn to her tired face, her deep (e/c) eyes flat as her once full cheeks instead showed tracks of tears. This was why he never approached her. Even now, being in her presence he knew what he was doing to her. He was breaking her heart even more, and that broke him in return.
“I know you are leaving tomorrow. I know you are part of the fellowship. I know you came here to wish me goodbye as you may possibly die on the journey. I know you wish to settle this matter between us, but I will tell you again what I told you decades ago,” She spoke directly before breathing in deeply, and Legolas once again saw that sharp mind he admired so. It wasn’t just that she could his mind now, no she had been doing it to everyone for over a century now.
“(Y/N), wait-” Legolas attempted to interject while she was drawing in breath, but she spoke over him.
“I am unable to stop loving you Legolas, and it seems my burden to bear that I will love you until I die. So, if you came here to try and make amends, then I am sorry, but unless you have suddenly decided you love me back, then my feelings have not changed. I will think of you often on your quest and do my best to keep you safe where I can,” She whispered the last part softly as tears started to stream down her face again, and she paused to give Legolas the right of reply. Once again though he hesitated, despite his heart straining and hurting at her words, her confession and the tears that would not give her respite. He cared for her so deeply, deeper than he had Tauriel or anyone else platonically or elsewise, including Aragorn. Yet he could not say it, not out loud or to himself. (Y/N) could see this, her broken (e/c) gaze dropping to the ground as she moved effortlessly to close the door.
“Goodluck Legolas, I wish you goodnight,” She whispered as he stood there, paralysed once again by her confession. Every time she said those words, told him that her love was undying, Legolas felt trapped in his own body. He couldn’t tell, couldn’t comprehend his own mind in those moments. His body always became overwhelmed, his heartbeat rapidly and he felt as if he may ill. He thought it was because he did not feel the same, that his body was physically reacting negatively to her words. But as he stood outside her door once again, unable to even speak to her because his appearance caused such severe heartbreak, he found himself second guessing everything. On the eve of leaving her again, possibly for the last time ever, he suddenly was unsure what his feelings were. Legolas opted to return to his chambers and chase whatever sleep he could before tomorrow, because he knew in his bones that there was nothing he could do tonight. Besides, he could decode his feelings over the many gruelling months ahead of him.
~*~
As Legolas walked with the fellowship out of Rivendell, he couldn’t help but look back longingly towards the forested citadel. Arwen had wished them goodbye, but her sister, as usual for Legolas, was nowhere to be seen. His heart yearned to see her again, and Frodo picked up on the Elf’s gaze quickly. As they walked further away, Rivendell barely a vision, Frodo finally spoke up, directing his words quietly to Legolas.
“Do you love her?” Frodo asked, a concerned look for his companion on his face. Legolas brushed his blonde hair out his face, frowning. He had heard this question many times, but finally this time, he had a different answer.
“I don’t know.”

Hazy Memories
‣ pairing: Legolas x reader
‣ words: 950+
‣ content: fluff, human reader, gn!reader
──────────────────
summary: after the Fellowship settles down for the night, you find that the cold leaves you unable to fall asleep. A walk in the woods ends in a moment more touching than you could have imagined.
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
The terrain you— along with the rest of the Fellowship— trekked along was undeniably a difficult route to take. The temperature had plummeted significantly before the group had even reached the mountain of Caradhras, which led to the decision to make camp before nightfall would bring even deadlier weather.
Now you tossed and turned in your sleeping bag, your thoughts constantly lingering on the persistent, icy wind that was currently nipping at your skin. Most of your companions had somehow already found their way to hazy dreams: the hobbits were huddled together and sharing each other’s warmth; Aragorn, Gimli, and Boromir had each found their own place to rest; and Gandalf was off meditating somewhere, you were sure. The only one who was wide awake was Legolas, who was currently on watch due to his lack of need for sleep.
But through the fog the cold had brought upon your mind, you could still make out the memories of the past evening. Although the long stories of the mountain that Gandalf had told the group were already lost to you, the interactions you had with the blond elf were clear as a sunny day. The thought of him brought an unexplainable warmth throughout your chest before you urged it away. Your feelings for him were based purely on admiration, that was all.
You had always worried about him, which was why you had immediately offered him your cloak once the temperature had began to lower. You felt bad for him, seeing him in simple layers compared to the others. He had given you a curious look at first before a small, warm smile made its way to his face.
“I am alright, thank you.”
“But aren’t you cold?” You continued, the crease in your expression making it seem as if the mere thought of him being cold horrified you.
He shook his head softly, pressing your cloak back towards you. “Not necessarily, although I do appreciate your offer.”
And before you could protest he was already in front of the group again. You watched him gingerly step upon the snowy ground each time he moved, his grace leaving barely a trace. You sighed, the warmth of your breath drifting from your lips. Only when one of the hobbits pushed you forward did you snap out of your trance.
Tonight you were in that same trance again, your restlessness guiding you from your sleeping bag and towards the dense woodland. You weren’t sure where you were headed, if you were headed anywhere, but hopefully your movement would be enough to grant you a bit of warmth. You found your way to a relatively clear path between the trees before your eyes caught sight of a light trail of footsteps. You followed them, wishing for the elf to still be there, yet the trail stopped at a deep decline in the ground. You looked past the cliffside and to the star-speckled sky as if you were waiting for something. After a moment you eventually sighed and intended to turn back around, yet something stirred from the leaves overhead.
With one swift movement you grabbed the pocket knife on your waistband, ready to fight whatever was there— or rather, whoever. When your eyes opened again you were met with ones of sapphire-blue, paired with an amused grin framed by strands of smooth, delicate hair.
“Y/N.”
“I- Legolas!” You stammer, quickly withdrawing the weapon you had faced him with.
He looks you up and down with one swift glance, clearly not affected. “You’re awake. Why?”
“I just can’t sleep. Too cold, I guess.” You answer, not mentioning the fact that you were too busy thinking of how graceful he is. Or that you purposefully followed his footsteps here. He nods.
“Your cheeks are horribly red.” His response makes your eyes widen before you try to relax again, hoping the action was subtle enough that he didn’t notice. He continues as his gaze travels along your face, almost as if he’s analyzing each feature. As he does so, the back of his hands lift to lightly stroke your cheek. Heat blooms under his touch. “You’re not familiar with the cold, are you?”
“And I’m guessing you’re so warm with your… what, only two layers?” You scoff, taking a small step back and turning your head nervously. He looks as if he’s about to respond somehow, yet he cuts himself short. His line of sight travels down to his feet as if he’s nervous.
“Well, I suppose I haven’t been thinking about it. I am very cold, to tell the truth. Freezing, even.” As he confesses this, he glances at you from the corner of his eye as if he’s expecting something.
“I was right!” You exclaim with victory before settling down and providing your care. You join hands with him to share your warmth. “Here, take my cloak. I can do without a layer.”
“No, no, I can’t have you be even colder—“
“I insist! I’m sure you’ve been barely surviving with those mere layers.” You quickly take off your outermost layer, settling it onto his shoulders. You don’t notice the shade of soft pink on his cheeks. “There we go.”
You both stand there for a moment, Legolas looking like he’s still missing something. “I don’t think it’s enough.”
You raise your eyebrow. “Really? Well, if you want another—“
Before you can finish your sentence, the cloak envelopes your upper body, the elf using his arm to support you as he pulls you towards him. You instinctively stiffen before his voice washes over you, calm and easy like a stream. “I think this is perfect.” The tension leaves you at once, instead replaced with the warmth of his body, nurturing like rays of sun. For a moment you believe you’re back home.
Huddled within your cloak, the two of you settle down at the foot of a tree. Your hands wrap around to warm his back as his fingers run gently through your hair, lulling you to sleep. As you fade into unconsciousness, he speaks to you of the old forest at his own home: the towering trees, the soothing melodies of birds, the vibrant green of flora. Your dreams consist of a realm you have never set foot on.
When Aragorn finds the two of you next morning, he doesn’t dare tell you that elves do not get cold.

As a LOTR fan I’m so tired of reading things such as: “What would Frodo have done without Aragorn or without Sam and so on for other characters?”. But do you ever wonder what all the other characters would have done without Frodo? He was the only one who had the courage to carry the Ring. In general I saw really few people who just give credit to what Frodo did. All the members of the company are important in the story and they should all be appreciated for what they have done without always making comparisons. I don’t know if I’m the only one who thinks this. Lemme know🥰

aragorn x half-elf gn/reader
warnings: descriptions of nudity
summary: you and aragorn have known each other for years, resulting in the two of you inevitably falling in love with each other though never admitting it. though, it turns out all a love confession took was a bar of soap and you two bathing in a lake together.
Exhaustion has long since seeped into your muscles, the motion of placing one boot in front of the other becoming a rhythmic pattern you refuse to break for you know you won’t be able to pick it back up again.
Strong winds roll through the grassy fields, making a mess of your untied hair and causing your eyes to catch the billowing of a dark cloak in front of you. You raise your head slightly to gaze at the owner of the garment: reluctant heir of Gondor, unnamed leader of the little band titled the Fellowship the group of you have formed- and although commonly known as Strider, this part-elf is simply Aragorn to you.
The pair of you had been picked up by the group of hobbits you traveled with in Bree, helping them to evade the infamous Nazgûl and inevitably being brought along the daunting journey laid out for them. You had first met Aragorn years ago when he had first left Rivendell. You led a similar fate to Aragorn after you befriended him, leaving the safety of your current life for one of adventure alongside the ranger. Poets would say you were seeking meaning, you joke that you were bored.
The seed of friendship you and Aragorn had planted then was watered through the experiences you shared on your travels, the memories that wrapped themselves like vines around that bond holding you two together, and every laugh and secret you both managed out of each other in peaceful times. But then you two began to look at each softer, speak to each other quieter for the words were meant only for the two of you, touch each other in fleeting moments that may not have been accidents- and then that seed grew into a budding flower of more that you gathered up and have held deep within your chest. Though no matter how much you both watered the bond of your friendship since then, that flower has never seemed to bloom.
Aragorn finally looks over his shoulder to the rest of you, and everyone momentarily pauses as he lifts his hand to guide everyone’s attention to a forestry patch of land seated a few hundred metres south of the hill you all waited on. “We’ll take camp there for tonight. We won’t reach Lothlorien by dusk, and I haven’t seen a better place for cover yet.” he instructs. Nobody seems to disagree, not even the opinionated elf or eager dwarf who both wait at your sides. Once three of four hobbits start celebrating, enthusiastically asking who would hunt for dinner, you offer Aragorn a small smile and nod of assurance. He repeats the gesture and turns to lead the way, but not without a response to the impatient hobbits, “You all can hunt dinner for us tonight, how does that sound?” which silences them.
You hurry a pair of paces to match the long strides of Aragorn, who slows down when he notices exactly who is on his tail. “You look exhausted,” you tell him, amusement flickering in your eyes as you look to him.
“As do you,” Aragorn shoots back, his brows raised in subtle entertainment at your rather honest opening line.
You scoff lightheartedly and get to the point of your words, reaching down to the satchel at your side to unbutton the flap and reveal the contents. Aragorn leans over you to peer into the bag, finding four small bars of soap.
“From the travelling merchant we crossed earlier?” the heir asks, and you nod proudly as if this was a noble accomplishment on your end.
“I do not have confidence in myself to survive another day with the… natural aroma of our companions,” you jest, and pause, “or you.”
And to your pleasant surprise, Aragorn’s chin tilts back- outlining the sharp line of his jaw- as the man lets a genuine laugh escape his lips. “I would not say you are so innocent in the matter, either,” he says, the closed-lipped smile on his face not faltering as you send a warning glare his way.
You feel lighter as you walk alongside Aragorn the rest of the way to the tree border, smiling like a giddy child for longer than need be over the silly interaction. You and Aragorn maintain the front as the lot of you push further into the forest until Aragorn stops, glances around, and looks to you and Legolas for approval.
You turn to look over your shoulder, and when you see that the forest has become dense enough to block the border to the grasslands from your line of sight, you say, “I think we are far enough in.”
Legolas had already found perch on a fallen log, fiddling with the strings of his bow, and so you and Aragorn simply take that as a sign he agrees.
As the sun dips behind the distant hills, the shadows of the trees encompassing you all extend until the soft starlight slipping through the canopy dims them. Now, camp is set up, and the fire Aragorn once was stroking while Gimli cooked the hunted meal of the evening has been forgotten. Most of your companions have spaced out their places for the night, all but the hobbits who crowd next to their friend Frodo.
You gingerly place your things down nearby Aragorn’s, and when you offer to take first watch Aragorn’s volunteer to do the same comes not much later than yours. You both sit next to each other as you listen to the idle noises of your companions turn to quietness, and quietness to silence save for the surrounding sounds of the forest.
You catch Aragorn glance to you in your peripheral vision which tempts you to steal a glance back. When you do, you are surprised to see he has risen from the leafy floor he was sitting on and began crossing the few metres that separated the two of you. You stay sitting, craning your neck as Aragorn now stands a few feet in front of you. You tilt your head in questioning.
“There is a lake nearby, I saw it when I scouted the perimeters earlier,” his voice is low, quiet, though you see his Adam’s apple bob slightly as he swallows, “May I borrow the soap?”
Any hint of drowsiness has been stolen from your body, your heart beating rapidly as you nod to him. You do not like how the thought of the man doing the simple act of bathing makes your body blaze like a catching fire. You dig into your nearby satchel and hand him one of the square, neutral coloured bars. Aragorn turns the dry thing in his hand a few times before he turns and walks away.
You do not watch him go and rather turn back to your satchel to close the button of it, wondering why the crunching of leaves beneath Aragorn’s walking feet ceased so swiftly. Curiously, you turn to check, finding Aragorn returning your gaze.
Aragorn clears his throat. “Would you like to join me?”
You can only blink, feeling that flame return to your body as his words act like oxygen and spread its tendrils through you.
“Yes, I would,” you say, though the words come out more breathless than you had expected.
You feel Aragorn’s eyes on you as you stand, dusting off your trousers in the most awkward of ways before padding over to where he stands. He only looks down at you, the look in his eyes gentle yet unreadable before he quietly turns and begins to guide you to this lake.
“What of the others?” you ask, glancing back.
“I do not wish to bathe with Gimli,” Aragorn responds with blunt humour, looking back at you with a raised brow.
“No, I mean that we promised to watch the camp,” you correct, managing not to roll your eyes.
“The lake is not far. We will know if something happens.” he assures.
Although it may be easy for him to remain alert, you are not sure if you can trust your instincts once you are distracted with the sight of Aragorn’s bare body. Aragorn seems to see apprehension on your face, and makes a bold move of reaching back to brush his fingers against yours. Then, your fingers close around each other’s like lock and key, and Aragorn is gently pulling you until you reach a clearing.
The trees wrap around the small, oval lake like a wreath. The water is not murky, a sign that it is untouched, and instead when you peer into it you see both your reflection and the moon above.
When you turn to see what Aragorn is doing, unsure if you are welcome to begin undressing so openly, you see that the ranger has already begun to do exactly that. You heart leaps and your chest flutters so much that you think that bud in you is instead a cocoon that has just sprouted a dancing butterfly.
Aragorn already unclasped his cloak from around his neck, discarding it nearby on a rock that borders the lake’s edge. He disarms, setting his weapons on the same rock should he need them, then reaches for the hem of his tunic. The man pulls the fabric off of him slowly, revealing to you the muscles beneath that you have only been able to imagine until now. You gaze at him, following the movement of his hands until you see them stop. Your eyes flick up slightly and are met with an amused half-smirk on Aragorn’s end. That flame in you moved to burn in your cheeks as you turn your head away, seeing Aragorn slowly walk towards you in the edge of your vision.
“Do not be nervous,” he says quietly, his hand turning your jaw slowly so you meet his eyes again. You feel your heart in your ears as his attention moves lower, lower, lower, and then back. “Would you like me to help?”
You can only nod. He smiles and nods back before his hands move to the clasps of your cloak, working it undone with ease. He sets your weapons aside somewhere- too distracted to take note- before he pulls your tunic off of your raised arms. Aragorn takes a step closer, removing the rest of your undergarments before a turn of his head causes his lips to brush against the shell of your half-pointed ear, “Beautiful.” he murmurs, evoking a pleasant shiver that slips down your spine.
His hands, resting on each side of your waist, move downwards until they reach the band of your trousers. You kick off your boots in silent encouragement, and Aragorn turns his head further to look down at you properly. Then he begins to slowly drag the last few pieces of your clothing that kept you decent, and once you stepped out of them- Aragorn now kneeling before you as he set aside your aside garments- you heard both of your breaths hitch.
Aragorn rises again, your breaths heavy as you both glance in the direction of whence you came, checking that none of your sleeping friends have noticed your absences. You look back at Aragorn first and see how the moonlight betrays Aragorn as he slowly drifts his attention back to you, illuminating the red tinting of his cheeks. He takes his sweet time in simply looking at your body, and you hear him sigh softly- a gentle, sweet exhale. The amusing thought of him swooning over you like a damsel crosses your mind.
Aragorn seems to notice the light dancing in your eyes, and he takes your hand and leads you to the rocky edges of the lake. “After you,” he tells you, and you feel as his eyes never leave you as you descend into the water. You wade around, taking note that water in the area you stand reaches your middle, and watch as Aragorn strips himself of the rest of his clothing.
Shamelessly, you stare as he undos his trousers, slipping them off alongside his undergarment and blushing when he sees you looking. You offer a coy smile in return, reaching over the edge to grab the soap he left on it as he enters the water alongside you.
“You first,” you tell him, and he obeys by wading over to where you stand. As you dip the soap into the water, getting some of the substance on to your hands, you feel a little grateful that the water is just high enough to reach Aragorn’s waist. He remains where he is as you work the soap into his skin, your heart jumping each time he sighs when you press into a particularly sore muscle. His skin gleams with moonlight and sparkles with droplets of water that cling to the short strands of hair on his chest leading downwards. You wash his arms, focus on his shoulders, and when he turns around to let you do his chest your hands linger there.
“Friends do not do these things,” is what Aragorn decides to say to break the comfortable silence.
“No, they do not,” you agree, your voice wavering with uncertainty. You keep your gaze on his chest, cupping water in your hand as you rinse off the soap. You let him wash the parts of him below the surface of the water, grinning as you can’t help but steal glances. But he says nothing else, nor do you, as you quietly find a seat on a ledge in the rock. Aragorn moves to stand between your legs, leaning back so his head is nearly against your chest.
You gather soap on your hands once more, lathering the suds through his hair. You watch from above as he sighs and closes his eyes, giving in to temptation as he leans further back into you. You massage the soap into his dark oak curls, watching his eyelashes flutter against his cheek and the corners of his pink lips tug upwards ever so slightly. You tilt his head back a little more as you cup water into your free hand, pouring it along the back of his head and watch as it drags the soap off of his curls that resist straightening even when wet.
Before you have the chance to climb down from your perch on the rock, Aragorn reaches a hand to your calf. His fingers dance along the skin, as if exploring, and travel up until they reach your thigh. By then, he’s looking up at you, and you are looking down at him, and his face is so close to yours you know that you both are only trying to see who caves first.
And it is Aragorn who does. He tilts his chin only slightly, which is enough to capture your lips in his as you lean over him. Your hands move to drape around his neck as his continue their journey up your thighs. He lifts you by the waist, bringing you back down to the lake floor with him so that it is he who must bend downwards to keep kissing you. You press your chest into his, standing practically between his legs as you both run your hands over each other’s bodies. Aragorn leaves a spark everywhere his fingers brush- your waist, your legs, back, chest, neck- he is everywhere but it is still not enough.
You know now what it feels like to bloom as that bud deep within your chest comes to life as Aragorn’s hands find their final place on each side of your face. His thumbs stroke gently in a lover’s caress as he finally breaks the kiss, though he does not move far. The look he gives you as you both stand together- chests heaving and lips puffy red with adrenaline pumping through your veins- tells you that Aragorn has just discovered what that feels like too, for there has been a matching budding flower in him, as well.
“We are not friends,” Aragorn finally says. You have never heard his voice so soft, “we are more.”

Entwined Realms || Legolas
Summary: Request: So I thought about this idea with Legolas x reader where the reader is the daughter of Galadriel and Celeborn (which makes her princess of Lothlorien and a very high elf) and she is nervous because its commonly known that Galadriel and Thranduil dont like each other (she is still his superior but you get the point) and the reader and Legolas have a dinner or some council or something together with their parents.
A/N: This was one of my favs to write. Just love everything LOTR... please keep them coming! Thank you for the request @lillisummers
Pairing: Legolas x Female Reader
Word Count: 4.1k +
TW: Talks of war/death
In the timeless realm of Lothlórien, you, the daughter of Galadriel and Celeborn, walked among the golden trees with a heavy heart filled with the weight of ancient grudges. It had been many years since you last tread upon these familiar paths, for you had spent much of your time in Rivendell, aiding in the healing of those who bore the scars of war.
As a princess of the high elves, you bore the burden of your lineage with grace. Yet the tension between your mother and Thranduil, the Elvenking of Mirkwood, weighed heavily upon you. The animosity between them was no secret, and you often found yourself caught in the midst of their disagreements. You were torn between loyalty to your mother and the desire for unity among your people after the war of the ring. Your return to Lothlórien had been sudden, called back by your father during the darkest days of the war. The news of battles raging across middle earth had filled you with dread. Yet, you knew that your place was by your family's side, lending whatever aid you could in the struggle against the darkness.
Despite the discord that lingered between your realms you held onto hope, believing in the power of unity to overcome adversity. The memories of Celebrian's capture and torture haunted you still. She drove your determination to see an end to the suffering that had plagued your people for so long.
As you walked beneath the golden canopy of the trees, you found solace in the familiar sights and sounds of Lothlórien. The gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze, the soft glow of the evening sun filtering through the branches. They spoke to you of peace and beauty, reminding you of all that was worth fighting for in this world. Your steps carried you towards a familiar spot. The quiet glade where the gravestones of those fallen in battle lay. The air was hushed. The only sound was the soft whisper of leaves and the gentle trickle of water from the nearby streams.
Stopping by the gravestones, you traced your fingers over each weathered stone, feeling the weight of loss settle upon your heart. Here, beneath the earth, lay the brave souls who had given their lives in service of a greater cause. A cause that you had fought for alongside them. Your thoughts turned to Haldir, the gallant Marchwarden who had stood by your side in the darkest of times. His laughter, his kindness, his unwavering loyalty… they were memories that you held dear, memories that would live on long after he had passed from this world. At one point you were convinced you would marry him but that was before he was taken so suddenly from you.
Closing your eyes, you allowed yourself a moment of silence. A moment to remember those who had been taken from you too soon. Their faces flashed before your eyes, friends, fighters, and loved ones alike. Each one leaving behind an indelible mark upon your soul. And yet, amidst the sorrow, there was also hope. Hope for a future where their sacrifices would not be in vain. Where the darkness would be banished for good and the light would shine so brightly once more. With a silent prayer upon your lips, you vowed to carry their memory with you always, to honor their legacy in all that you did.
As you stood amidst the gravestones, lost in memories and reflections, a soft voice broke through the silence. She was calling your name. You turned to see your mother, Galadriel, approaching with a gentle smile upon her lips. Her eyes, always so wise and knowing, held a depth of understanding that eased the ache in your heart.
"Y/n," she said, her voice like the gentle rustle of leaves in the wind, "I have been searching for you. It is good to see you home again. You look well my love."
You returned her smile, feeling a sense of warmth and comfort wash over you at the sight of her familiar face. "It is good to be home, Mother," you replied, stepping forward to embrace her.
Galadriel held you close, tight. Her arms a reassuring embrace amidst the turmoil of emotions swirling within you. "You have been missed, my dear," she said softly, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
As you pulled away, Galadriel's gaze softened. Her eyes filled with a mixture of pride and affection. "There is much to discuss," she said, her voice taking on a more serious tone. "But first, I have news that I believe will bring you much joy."
Curiosity piqued, you listened as Galadriel spoke of the upcoming marriage between your niece, Arwen, and Aragorn, the King of Gondor. The news filled you with a sense of anticipation, the prospect of a wedding bringing a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness that had shrouded middle earth for so long. "I would be honored to attend," you said. Your heart swelling with love for your family and excitement for the joyous occasion to come.
Galadriel smiled, her eyes sparkling with pride. "I had no doubt that you would," she said, her voice tinged with warmth. "Come, let us return to Caras Galadhon and begin preparations. There is much to do, and little time to waste." She motioned you to follow her.
With a nod of agreement, you fell into step beside your mother. It felt as though the weight of grief and loss lightened by the promise of love and celebration on the horizon. As you walked the golden light of Lothlórien illuminated your path guiding you towards a future filled with possibility.
Too quickly the day of celebration arrived. The grand halls of Minas Tirith were adorned with banners and flowers, filling the air with a sense of festivity and anticipation. You, dressed in your finest elven attire, mingled with the guests. Your heart was aflutter with excitement and nerves for your niece and the King of Gondor. Amidst the bustling crowd, your eyes scanned the faces of those gathered taking in the sight of strangers and acquaintances alike. And then your gaze met that of a mysterious elven stranger across the ornate courtyard who you did not recognize.
His eyes were a captivating shade of blue. They held a warmth and kindness that drew you in, sending a shiver down your spine. For a brief moment it felt as though the world around you had faded away leaving only you and this enigmatic stranger in a universe of your own making. But as quickly as the moment had come, it was gone. Broken by the sound of laughter and music drifting through the air you tore your gaze away. Your cheeks flushed with a mixture of curiosity and excitement, heart racing with the memory of that brief but electrifying encounter.
Though you knew not who he was, nor what fate had in store for you. You couldn't shake the feeling that this chance meeting was somehow significant. And as you allowed yourself to be swept away by the joyous festivities you couldn't help but wonder about the identity of the mysterious elven stranger who had captured your attention with a single glance.
As the celebration unfolded you found yourself standing beside Arwen, basking in the glow of her happiness as she greeted guests and well-wishers. The air was filled with laughter and music. The joyous atmosphere infectious as people celebrated the union of Arwen and Aragorn. But amidst the revelry your attention kept drifting back to the beautiful blonde elf who had caught your eye earlier. He stood amidst a group of guests, his presence commanding and his gaze holding a quiet intensity that seemed to draw you in.
Unable to contain your curiosity any longer you turned to Arwen with a hint of nervousness in your voice. "Arwen," you began, pointing subtly towards the mysterious elf, "who is that?"
Arwen followed your gaze, her eyes sparkling with amusement as she noticed your interest in the stranger. "Ah, him," she said, her tone tinged with mystery. "That is Legolas, Prince of Mirkwood."
Legolas. The name echoed in your mind. Though you knew little about him there was something about the way he carried himself, the way his eyes seemed to hold a thousand untold stories that intrigued you beyond measure. As Arwen spoke of Legolas' exploits and noble deeds you found yourself captivated by the tales of his courage and valor. And though you knew it was foolish to be so taken with a stranger, you couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to him. Something that called to you on a level you couldn't quite understand.
With a grateful smile you thanked Arwen for indulging your curiosity. Though your mind was already consumed with thoughts of the mysterious Prince of Mirkwood. And as you turned your attention back to the festivities you couldn't help but wonder what secrets lay hidden beneath the surface of the captivating blonde elf who had captured your attention with a single glance.
As the evening wore on, the atmosphere grew more relaxed. You found yourself drawn into the lively conversations and laughter that filled the air.
As if he had known your every thought, he had come right up to you. A charming smile playing on his lips as he offered you a goblet of wine. "Care for some wine, my lady?" he asked, his voice smooth and all too inviting.
Grateful for the distraction you accepted the goblet with a smile, the cool liquid soothing the nerves that had been fluttering in your stomach. "Thank you," you replied, taking a sip and relishing the taste of the rich, fruity wine.
As you savored the wine, Legolas took a seat beside you. His eyes alight with curiosity as he extended his hand in introduction. "I am Legolas," he said, his tone warm and genuine. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance."
You felt a rush of excitement at the sound of his name, "And I am Y/n," you replied, your voice betraying a hint of nervousness that you quickly tried to mask.
Legolas smiled warmly at you, a glint of mischief dancing in his eyes as he raised his own goblet in a silent toast. "Well then, Y/n, here's to new acquaintances and delightful conversations," he spoke.
As the evening progressed, you found yourself drawn into conversation with Legolas. His easy charm and quick wit putting you at ease. Despite your initial nervousness you soon found yourself laughing and chatting with him as if you had known each other for years. With each passing moment you felt yourself growing more and more enchanted by Legolas. His presence filling you with a sense of warmth and belonging that you hadn't felt in a long time. Not since before your sister had set sail. And as you shared stories and laughter with the captivating Prince of Mirkwood you couldn't help but wonder what adventures lay in store for you both in the days to come.
When the topic turned to your family, you couldn't help but feel a pang of apprehension, unsure of how he would react upon learning the truth. "Your parents must be proud of you," Legolas remarked, his voice sincere as he glanced around at the grandeur of Minas Tirith. "To have a daughter as kind and courageous as you."
You smiled, touched by his words. Though a part of you hesitated to reveal your true lineage. "Thank you, Legolas," you replied, your voice tinged with uncertainty. "My parents... they are indeed proud, though our family is not without its complexities."
Legolas cocked his head with curiosity shining bright in his eyes. "Complexities?" he asked, his brow furrowing slightly.
You took a deep breath, steeling yourself for his reaction. "My parents are Celeborn and Galadriel," you confessed, watching closely for any sign of recognition or judgment in his expression.
To your surprise, Legolas' eyes widened in genuine surprise, his gaze softening with understanding. "Galadriel," he murmured, a hint of awe in his voice. "The Lady of Light herself. And Celeborn, the Lord of Lothlórien."
You nodded, relieved by his reaction. "Yes, though our family is not without its challenges," you admitted, your voice growing quiet. "There are... tensions between my parents and certain others in Middle-earth." You knew he knew, and he knew you knew. The two of you were dancing around your parents disdain for the other.
Legolas' expression grew somber. A shadow passing over his features. "I understand," he said, his tone tinged with empathy. "My own father, Thranduil, can be... difficult at times."
You felt a surge of empathy for Legolas knowing all too well the challenges that could arise from strained familial relationships. "It seems we are not so different after all," you said. A small smile playing at your lips.
Legolas returned your smile, his eyes warm and understanding. "Indeed," he said, his voice gentle. "But perhaps together, we can find a way to bridge the divide between our families."
Touched by his sincerity you could only keep grinning at him like a fool. "I would like that, Legolas," you replied. Your heart swelled with gratitude for the bond that was beginning to form between you.
As the night wore on into the wee hours of the morning you and Legolas found yourselves drawn deeper into each other's company. The hours quickly slipping away unnoticed as you laughed and talked beneath the starlit sky. The connection between you grew stronger with each passing moment. A bond of friendship and understanding blossoming into something deeper and more profound. Unfortunately, the celebration began to wind down. You found yourselves reluctant to part ways. The prospect of saying goodbye filling you with a sense of melancholy. "Perhaps we could extend our stay in Minas Tirith," Legolas suggested, his voice tinged with a hint of worry as if you wouldn’t accept. "There is still so much more to see and do. I have not seen this city without war disparaging it."
You nodded eagerly, the idea of spending more time with Legolas filling you with a sense of joy and excitement. "I would like that very much," you replied, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips. "There is still so much more we have yet to see. You distracted me tonight."
And so, you and Legolas remained in Minas Tirith for longer than planned, seizing every opportunity to steal away moments alone together amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. Whether wandering the streets hand in hand or sharing quiet conversations in secluded corners. Each moment spent in Legolas' company felt like a precious treasure, a memory to be cherished for eternity.
As your extended stay in Minis Tirith came to an end the bond between you and Legolas deepened further than you could have imagined. Your hearts intertwining in a dance as old as time itself. One evening beneath the stars after your going away dinner the two of you sat together in the quiet solitude of the gardens, surrounded by the scent of blooming flowers and the gentle hum of crickets. The words you had been longing to say spilled forth from your lips.
"Legolas," you began, your voice barely above a whisper, "there is something I must confess to you." It truly was now or never for you did not know the next time you would see the elf that had captured your heart so quickly.
Legolas turned to you, his eyes filled with warmth and affection. "Yes, Y/n?" he replied, his voice soft and reassuring.
"I know this is quick,” you began, your voice soft and hesitant, "And we tend to do this slow, but I must admit... I really like you. More than a friend would."
You glanced away, cheeks flushing with embarrassment as you awaited his response. But when you dared to meet his gaze once more you found Legolas looking at you with a tender smile. His eyes filled with a warmth that mirrored your own feelings.
"Y/n," he said softly, reaching out to gently take your face in his hand, "your honesty means the world to me. I too have come to care for you deeply as well. As more than a friend would."
Your heart soared at his words. A sense of joy flooding through you at the knowledge that your feelings were reciprocated. And as you sat together in the quiet beauty of the gardens you knew that your bond with Legolas was something truly special. It was the beginning of a love story that was just beginning to unfold.
You didn’t want the night to end so you kept your wandering through the gardens. "Legolas," you began, your voice tinged with concern, "what do you think about... our families?"
Legolas glanced at you. His gaze thoughtful. "Ah, our esteemed parents," he replied with a wry smile. "Stubborn as ancient oaks and twice as difficult to move."
You couldn't help but laugh at his analogy, feeling a sense of relief at his lighthearted approach to the situation. "Yes, that's one way to put it," you agreed. A smile playing at the corners of your lips.
"But," Legolas continued, his tone turning more serious, "I believe they will come around in time. After all, love has a way of softening even the hardest of hearts."
You nodded feeling a flicker of hope kindling within you. "I hope you're right," you replied, leaning closer to him. "I just want them to see... how much we care for each other."
Legolas placed a comforting arm around your shoulders, drawing you closer to him. "They will, Y/n," he said softly, his voice filled with quiet confidence. "And until then, we'll just have to prove them wrong together."
As your time in Minas Tirith drew to a close, you couldn't shake the feeling that it was time for your parents and Legolas to meet. Despite the tension between your families, you were determined to show them that love knew no bounds, and that their differences could be set aside in the name of happiness.
On the morning that both of you were to depart you knew what you had to do. "Legolas," you began. Your voice tinged with nervousness, "I know it's unconventional, but... what if you and your father were to visit Lothlórien?"
Legolas blinked in surprise, clearly taken aback by your suggestion. "Visit Lothlórien?" he echoed, his brow furrowing in thought. "It's an... intriguing idea, Y/n, but I'm not sure how my father would feel about it."
You nodded, understanding Legolas' reservations. "I know it's a risk," you admitted, "but I believe that if he could experience the beauty and hospitality of Lothlórien for himself, he might begin to understand... and perhaps even appreciate our way of life."
Legolas considered your words for a moment before a smile spread across his face. "You may be right, Y/n," he said, his eyes alight with excitement. "Let's extend the invitation to my father and see what he says."
With a renewed sense of hope, you and Legolas set about preparing for Thranduil's visit to Lothlórien. You knew it wouldn't be easy, but you were determined to show both him and your parents that love could conquer even the deepest of divides. And so, with hearts full of anticipation and determination, you bid farewell to Minas Tirith. You knew that a new chapter of your journey was about to begin.
As Legolas and an initially reluctant Thranduil arrived in Lothlórien, the tension between them was palpable. Thranduil's expression was stoic and reserved, while Legolas wore a strained smile who was clearly uncomfortable with the situation. You greeted them warmly, hoping to ease the atmosphere, but even your efforts seemed to fall flat in the face of the lingering animosity between your parents. The initial interactions were awkward only filled with polite but strained conversation and forced smiles.
But as the evening progressed and the wine flowed freely the atmosphere began to shift. Your parents, Thranduil, and Legolas found themselves gradually relaxing in each other's company. The rigid barriers between them slowly melting away under the influence of hope after the war and shared experiences. You watched with a mixture of joy and relief as the tension dissipated, replaced by laughter and genuine conversation. Thranduil who had initially been so guarded found himself opening up. He began to share stories and jokes with Celeborn and Galadriel as if they were old friends.
And Legolas, too, seemed to come alive in the warmth of his father’s acceptance. His smile growing more genuine with each passing moment. It was as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders finally allowing him to truly be himself in their presence. He chuckled at one of Thranduil's jokes and clinked glasses with Celeborn, a genuine smile gracing his features.
In the midst of the conversation Legolas turned to you, his eyes sparkling with affection. "Meleth nin," he said softly, his voice filled with utmost warmth.
As Legolas inadvertently uttered the Elvish endearment, my love, the words hung in the air laden with the weight of unspoken emotions. Your heart skipped a beat at his slip-up, and you couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement coursing through you.
"Really?" you exclaimed. Your eyes widened with surprise and utmost delight. For a moment you almost forgot that your parents and Legolas' father were present too caught up in the rush of emotion that swept over you.
Legolas blinked, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment as he realized what he had said in front of the parents. "I... uh, I mean..." he stammered, clearly flustered by your reaction.
But before he could finish, Thranduil let out a soft chuckle. The elvenking’s eyes twinkling with amusement. "It seems our children are more than just friends," he remarked to your parents. His tone surprisingly light-hearted.
You turned to your parents with a sheepish smile tugging at the corners of your lips. "I guess we should have mentioned that sooner," you admitted feeling a surge of relief as you saw their understanding smiles.
Celeborn and Galadriel exchanged knowing glances before Celeborn spoke up. "Love has a way of revealing itself in unexpected ways," he said, his voice filled with warmth. "We are happy for you both."
Thranduil let out a small chuckle. His eyes crinkling with amusement. "Young love," he said before shaking his head in mock exasperation. "It seems like only yesterday that Legolas was just a boy chasing after butterflies in the woods."
Legolas rolled his eyes playfully at his father's comment. "I assure you, Ada, I have grown up a bit since then," he spoke. His tone teasing but affectionate.
Celeborn chuckled softly his eyes twinkling with mirth. "Indeed," he agreed, his voice warm. "But some things never change." He motioned to you with a knowing grin.
And as the tension melted away completely, replaced by laughter, and shared understanding, you couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the unwavering support of your parents. With their blessing and acceptance, you and Legolas knew that your love story was only just beginning. You were finally destined to have a beautiful and unforgettable journey filled with laughter, joy, and the sweet promise of a future together. You had waited a long time for this. A very long time.
As the night grew deeper and the fire crackled softly, you and Legolas found yourselves immersed in a comfortable silence. The two of you basking in the warmth of each other's presence. Legolas turned to you with a playful glint in his eyes, taking your hand in his. "Well, my dear, it seems the hour grows late," he remarked, his voice soft and warm.
You nodded feeling a surge of affection for the elf beside you. "Yes, it does," you replied, a smile playing at the corners of your lips.
With a gentle tug on your hand Legolas rose to his feet pulling you up with him. "Allow me to escort you to your room," he said. His voice filled with gentle sincerity.
You followed him, the touch of his hand sending a shiver of anticipation down your spine. As you reached your door, Legolas turned to you. His eyes sparkling with mischief. "Until next time, meleth nin," he whispered, pressing a soft kiss to your cheek before turning to leave.
A faint blush coated your cheeks at his actions. “Until next time, meleth nin.” You repeated. You watched him go with a smile playing at your lips as you realized that no matter what adventures lay ahead, you would face them with him. Oh, what a life.

Fellowship reacts to a surprise kiss on the cheek?
Maybe they helped someone and got a kiss on the cheek in return!
This is so cute and I apologize that this ended up being really short and not particularly great or interesting to read 🫥
They get a kiss on the cheek
Aragorn:
-Not too phased tbh
-At least not outwardly
-Definitely smirks though
Legolas:
-Short circuits
-Elves are not particularly physically affectionate
-So best believe he is flustered and maybe a bit confused
Gimli:
-Blushy blushy blush
-Can’t look you in the eye
-He definitely stutters over his words
Boromir:
-Probably grabs your hand and kisses it back
-Thanks you
-Very gentlemanly
Frodo:
-Smiles at the friendly gesture
-He probably also gives people kisses so he isn’t too phased
-Maybe a little surprised
Sam:
-Very flustered
-Will think about this moment for the foreseeable future
Merry:
-Smug
-Will be dramatic about it
-He can die happy and pretends to faint
Pippin:
-Just a happy little guy
-He likes the attention
-Will give you a peck on the cheek randomly later before skipping off
Gandalf:
-He thinks it cute
-He’s old so this isn’t something unusual in his mind; a kiss on the cheek was more common back in the day
-He gives a little mumbled thank you and a nod

Can I ask for a request?
For the fellowship men? So they get wounded and their crush have to nurse them? And she is total calm with that like "Hun your leg is bleeding you have to take off your pants so I can treat the wound" and she's total obvious and didn't get the longing looks she get oder when he ist flustered and shiver because she touch his skin. ("Sry for the cold hands")
I’ll do my best! Tried to vary up the scenarios a bit 😉 thank you so much for requesting 😌 Warnings: some blood & injury mentions, minor language, some suggestive jokes!
The Fellowship When Their Crush Cares For Their Wound
Aragorn
"Won't you please sit down?"
The tender urgency of your words finally ran a shock through Aragorn, who complied. Perhaps it truly was no good to continue pressing on at the detriment of the group.
"Very well. We rest!"
"That was not so hard, was it?" You asked him, resting a hand on his shoulder. "Now, if you please." Pantomiming removing your shirt, you nodded his way.
Aragorn's brows furrowed, blue eyes fixing you with concern, questioning, as he sat and tightened his bootstraps.
"I saw that slash you took," you breathed, "let yourself be cared for."
Inhaling, he nodded, unlacing and shrugging down his tunic. Never had you made such a request before, but giving as you were, it made sense. Such nature was what inevitably drew Aragorn to you. Your touch was soft as you reached out to caress the skin above where he had been injured. Cleaned it just as gently.
"What?" You suddenly broke the silence, tilting your head and fixing Aragorn with an innocent bat of your eyes. You truly had no idea.
He shook his head, a smile playing upon his lips to swallow the wince of pain as you began wrapping his cut flesh in bandages. "Nothing. Only gratitude at the care of your heart and the ease of your hands."
You smiled back, sending Aragorn's chest leaping somewhere far deeper than the pain could reach.
Legolas
"You're bleeding."
"It is nothing, really," the elven prince tried to brush you off, but shaking your head, you stepped in front of him.
"Keep not your pride so tight about you," you chastised, hands upon your hips and a teasing look upon your face, "the dwarf can't see you. Come. Let me at least wrap it up for you."
Legolas's expression softened at your words, and with a slight nod, he followed. Wordlessly he removed his layers when you reached a spot off to the side, dark eyes never leaving you as he revealed the entirety of the wound, a slash near his collarbone. Unthinkingly, your hands went right to the area around it.
"Oh, Legolas, it's worse than I..." You paused, feeling him shiver. "I'm sorry, are my hands cold?"
"A bit," he replied with a bit of a smile, resting both of his hands over yours.
Flushing, you shake your head. "I am supposed to be caring for you."
Legolas just smiled at you. "Can we not have both? This is the least I can do."
"True," you teased, "I suppose it benefits us both, does it not?"
"Indeed," he nodded, "but mostly yet I know no other way to show my heart's gratitude."
Boromir
"I can hardly believe you!"
"Believe what? We are safe again," Boromir replied, a hand tightly clasping your shoulder.
"You are well aware what, you hero of a man," you shot back, waving a hand up and down his form, "now go and lie down for me already!"
"Oh?" His brows shot up at your words. "Is that how you like it?"
"No matter me, you've been wounded! Being surrounded upon all sides and grazed with arrows does that to a man. I saw the one that caught your side and while I'd like to hold you up as much as you need, first we'd best patch you up."
"Oh," Boromir said again, this time a bit dumbly as he lowered to the ground with a nod. His teasing tone quickly returned, however, "Yes, indeed, whatever you say. I forget what a great healer you are."
"Well, I certainly may not be the best, but there is no reason to burden oneself with wounds already inflicted. Not to mention it mostly got your back."
The moment Boromir exposed himself, he glanced back at you, catching the trace of your eyes over his skin. Your hands soon fell upon it, working quickly to clean and wrap up the bloody graze nice and tight. What surprised him, though, was the work of your hands after this, your fingers kneading the skin around it. Pleasure and pain rolled in equal waves through him as you did so.
"My apologies, does this hurt too much? I felt you start a bit just now. My brother just told me that we heal better if we're relaxed."
"And I believe that wholeheartedly," Boromir agreed with a smile, "please continue. I must confess I have never received such fine treatment before."
Giggling at his comment and eliciting a chuckle from him in return, you continued with a smile of your own.
Gimli
“Sit still!”
“I can still fight!”
“Like hell you will,” you shot back, stopping Gimli again with a hand across his chest, “I don’t care what you think you can do, you just could have been killed! Now stay there, please. I’m worried about you.”
Spoken considerably softer, those last four words were what halted Gimli’s protest the most, a glow of warmth and hope ringing out in his chest. His lips parted a bit in surprise. “Oh. Alright, then, do what you need.” For all his bravado, it had been a nasty case, his body slammed down so hard and his now-pounding head taking the brunt of the force.
“Thank you.” Reaching your hands up, you slid his helmet off first, tucking his hair behind his ears. You could feel the way he tensed up at your actions as you pulled one hand away to fetch your cloth. "Sorry, did that sting?"
He had to get out his head- all you were doing was taking care of him. "Not at all. Please-please continue." Perhaps his words sounded desperate, but Gimli barely cared when your hands were on him like that.
Speaking of which... You took firmer hold, tilting him by the chin to get a better angle with which to dab the warm fabric over the wound.
"You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?"
Frodo
"Would you not like to do something about this?"
Frodo simply peered up into your eyes with his glistening blue stare, tilting his head inquisitively and tugging at his sleeves, which you then took a hold of.
"No, no, take this all off is what I meant."
"Take- take it all...?"
Hand crossing over your shoulders, you drew lines down in an impression of the chain Frodo wore, the impossibly heavy burden he bore burning into his skin at all times. "Surely you feel it. You must. Keep it on, I won't touch it, but please let me ease the pain."
Blinking, Frodo inhaled, nodded. "Very well. What will you do, then?"
"Just put some salve up there around where the chain is. Here, just take your shirt off a bit," you told him, fussing with his jacket but allowing Frodo himself to undo the top buttons of his shirt.
He glanced up, followed your gaze and saw it lie not upon the ring, but upon his, and visibly relaxed, a smile finally working its way to his soft lips. Nodding again, he sat back as your hand pushed the metal chain up from its place, spreading your healing concoction upon the opened skin. When your hand got lower, you could feel how rapid his heartbeat was thumping beneath skin and bone.
"Don't worry, really. All I care about is you." Did it pick up again?
"I am at ease, the first of such I've felt in some time. I cannot thank you enough," he replies with a shake of his head and a kiss to the hand you weren't using.
Sam
"Alright, Sam, open up your shirt."
"I beg your pardon?"
Shaking your head, you chuckled at his wide eyes. "I heard you got a nasty scrape, and if so, I've got just the thing for it."
Shock still swam in his green eyes, his fingers hovering over the buttons hesitantly as he glanced between them and you.
Flushing, you spoke once more, much more hastily as you held up the jar of medicine in question. "Oh! Er, well, if you'd rather someone else take a look, I can give this to Aragorn and he can-"
"No!" Sam cut you off, shaking his head. "No, no let's not trouble Strider, you're all right. Here we go."
Glancing back and forth, he sat down upon a rock and undid the top three buttons of his shirt, wiggling the fabric loose to reveal the wound you'd been told of. Your eyes wandered a bit before guiltily returning to Sam's; he smiled faintly as you dipped your fingers into the cool contents of the jar and reached back up to smear some on. Sam, surprisingly, did not flinch but he did shiver a bit.
"Oh, my apologies, I should have warmed it up a bit better first, shouldn't I?"
He sat up a bit straighter at your words. "Not at all, I can take it. Just...just startled me a bit is all. Don't worry your pretty head."
Merry
"Trousers off. Let's see it."
"Right now?" Merry loudly whispered, eyes going round.
"Yes, right now," you fussed, "or else you'll bleed out! Come on."
"Oh. Oh, the wound, yes. Bit of a close one there, wasn't it?"
You put a hand on your hip as Merry lowered into a seated position and undid his belt. "Had Boromir not been there with his shield, you could have lost your leg. What were you thinking?"
"Well, if you really must know," Merry shot back, shimmying his outer garments down to reveal a glistening red gash upon his right leg, "thought charging in might impress you."
He shuddered under the cleansing water you pressed against it, likely due to the cold. Your brow furrowed equally at the wound as it was at him, your eyes darting up to search his. "Impress me?" You replied incredulously.
"Yes," he agreed with a crooked, devious smile, "and with that first line of yours, I thought it'd worked."
Pippin
“Alright, take off your trousers.”
Pippin’s eyebrows shot up as his hands slid to his belt. “Is that what we’re doing? Well, all right then…”
Head tilted and brows furrowed in confusion, you fixed him with a look. “Of course we are, you got a huge gash above the knee. Lucky for you Aragorn harvested us a whole lot of poultice herbs the other day.” Your gaze slid between Pippin and your work of crushing the leaves as he sheepishly loosened his garments.
“Right, right, I knew that, yes. So the leaves are going to go down first, then?”
“Indeed,” you nodded, dabbing at the remaining dribble of blood before you began gently dabbing the poultice on.
Your eyes traveled back up to meet his, their deep green sheen bringing a shy smile to your face. Beneath your hand, he shuddered faintly.
“Sorry, does that sting?” You asked him, glancing again between your work and him.
Puffing out his chest a bit, Pippin shook his head. “Not at all. Not when I have the best nurse in all of Middle Earth to take care of me. Feels a bit good, in fact.”
Flushing, you gave a full smile at his words as you tied off his bandage. “Well, having the best patient helps, too.” Feeling a bit bold, you reached up and patted his cheek. “Let me know if you need anything else, alright?”
A wide grin spread across Pippin’s face. “Oh, I can think of something."

𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐧
✧ At first he isn’t sure what to do - Aragorn is a little like the elves in that he has never, truly, fallen in love with someone before.
✧ He tries to think back to his first crush - Arwen - but it already feels wrong to compare what he has with you to what he had with her.
✧ Aragorn tries not to act too differently around you, he can still show you his home and look after you just as well as when you were friends.
✧ He doesn’t even realise the little gestures he begins to do until after he’s done them, like showing you the rose garden before every other garden in Rivendell.
✧ He’s slightly more protective of you as well - it isn’t like you’ve suddenly become glass, but he’s spent his entire life being taught it’s his duty to protect the things he loves.
✧ Aragorn also, when tongue-tied or more tired, begins to fall back in more formal tongues - almost talking to you as he would to a steward, simply because the important people in his life have been addressed that way.
✧ (He considers asking his brothers - but doesn’t trust Elrohir quite enough in terms of his feelings staying quiet. He’d also not like to be teased for the entirety of his visit).
✧ A small part of him is annoyed it’s happened now, with the Council of the Ring about to head out and not having as much time to spend with you.
𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐬
✧ Legolas has the odd experience of knowing what love is, he’s seen his mother and father - and been around in Middle Earth long enough, yet never having any experience with love.
✧ Especially with human love, and if it differs from elven. And also different social queues, the humans he interacts with are generally rangers who spend their entire lives travelling, not rangers of Gondor.
✧ In short, Legolas is a little overwhelmed and very nervous. He knows he shouldn’t be intimidated by the prospect of love, but he doesn’t want to do anything wrong.
✧ He still spends just as much time with you as before, although now it’s even more sparring/archery practice and less talking.
✧ (He knows he won’t mess up archery, but he’s scared of his tongue failing him).
✧ Eventually, he asks both Aragorn and Arwen separately for their advice for him - and what exactly he should do about his love for you. (Is very dedicated to this, nodding and sometimes writing advice down on a fragment of parchment.)
✧ Resolves that he needs to talk to you about it, but keeps not doing so by a mixture of deliberately putting it off and being distracted by you while spending time with you.
𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐨
✧ At first, Frodo is determined to treat you no differently from anyone else - while still being fascinated with you (although that is because of your nature, not a little because of his feelings).
✧ He begins to spend more time with you, trying to seek you out when he has things he should be doing, and when he has no obligations.
✧ Frodo tries to tell himself that it’s because you remind him of Bilbo’s stories, that you give him that feeling of adventure and wonder - but in reality it’s because you make him feel like he’s in romantic novels he’d read on a summer day.
✧ Some of his crush is obvious, his eyes shine a little too much when he sees you and his smile is always wider when he’s with you, but he always treats you with courtesy.
✧ Most of the time, Frodo treats you like you’re an esteemed guest - making sure you have the best food, holding the doors open for you, and hanging onto your every word.
✧ Still, he’s determined to at least be friends with you before he starts anything official, and that means being on his best behaviour.
✧ Eventually, he realises that he truly does want to court you, and begins to prepare only the very best.
𝐒𝐚𝐦
✧ Even when Sam realises he likes you, he’s still resolved not to do anything different. To not bother you; to continue to admire you from afar.
✧ And then only days later you and him are dancing together, smiling together, laughing together.
✧ It goes from zero to one hundred very quickly for Sam, so much so he doesn’t really have time to process it at the start.
✧ Once the two of you have an informal but established meeting schedule, he allows himself to actually think about what him liking you means - and how this affects your friendship.
✧ He realises that a lot of what he’s done with you is already quite romantic, not quite courting but wanting to be, and resolves to dial it back.
✧ But when he tries, the two of you don’t seem to smile as much - and he’s not being authentic to himself - so he decides to go back to how he was.
✧ Sam is very aware of how much he likes you, and how he subtly expresses it, but he’s much too afraid to act on these thoughts.
𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲
✧ Merry has been in love before, a few times, but never anything like this. Never with anyone like you.
✧ But he also isn’t one to shy away from his feelings, so he approaches you quickly - tries to be charming, to make sure you like him.
✧ As soon as he’s interacted with you he’s even more hooked, and he eagerly sets up more meetings for the two of you - so he can see you again.
✧ When you two part ways he spends the rest of the day trying to work out how to tour the Shire, what jokes he should make and when.
✧ How can he make this experience the most enjoyable for you?
✧ Realising he likes you, Merry truly does go all in to try and show he cares about you - although he also tries not to be overbearing and gives you the space you need.
✧ He’s also not afraid of his feelings, and doesn’t take any particular care to hide them. He only waits to confess so it can happen at an appropriately romantic moment.
𝐏𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧
✧ Pippin is, in a way, infatuated with you. Except his love doesn’t go away, it just changes slightly, it matures.
✧ At the start he would blush around you like an idiot, gazing at you like you were the best thing he’d ever seen - even admiring your beauty in the middle of training sessions.
✧ He is embarrassed by his actions, but that only makes the blush worse, and he doesn’t even realise he’s doing a lot of the traits. By the time he does he snaps out of them, however.
✧ Once the crush matures into actually liking you - not just his first impressions, but everything - it becomes a lot more manageable.
✧ Yes, he still stares but it’s more subtle. His gaze is softer, and filled with admiration rather than a completely awestruck and dopy grin.
✧ Now he’s more focused on spending time with you and actually interacting with you, taking time to go and see you.
✧ Although he still eagerly runs up to you, looking up with a smile, it’s so much more genuine and you feel it doesn’t put you on a pedestal. When he looks at you with love, it’s actual love for you.
✧ You are aware of his crush from the start, although all of his little actions to try and be better and show his adoration from you appropriately are completely adorable.
𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐫
✧ The thing Boromir most dislikes about his realisation is that it’s on a time-limit. As a ranger of Ithilien, you will leave again for your post in only three weeks.
✧ He wishes that he’d realised as you were heading out, so that he could have planned something elaborate and worthy of you in the time you had been away.
✧ And then he remembers how long you were away for, and that he would have hated the hopeless pinning even more. That, left to his own devices with far too much time, he probably would have requisitioned the entire store of fireworks in Gondor for a confession (or a similar far too elaborate plot).
✧ When he greets you again he tries not to behave differently, and is still more grateful in your general meeting with him - even as a friend - than he is to be near you while in love with you.
✧ Knowing him well enough you can tell there is something different with Boromir, but nothing too concerning - simply a few extra glances in your direction, blush that’s almost too faint for you to bring up.
✧ Most of your first night back, after you’d finished drinking together and retired to your respective chambers, he spends thinking of what to do. Awake in his room, fingers tapping at his side as sleep cannot enter his mind while you are in it.
✧ Eventually, after thinking of a few suitable things, he asks his brother - aware he has known you for longer, and is the more romantic of the two.
✧ He isn’t ashamed or embarrassed about asking for help, and the only reason he doesn’t want you to know is he wants to court you properly.
𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐫
✧ Technically, the first thing he does is talk to you in a tavern and kiss you - then spend the rest of the night thinking about you after he pulls away.
✧ The first thing he does when he’s sober is realise what he’s done, and resolve to find you.
✧ His love for you isn’t the first thing on his mind when he tries to find you, it’s his sense of duty, but a part of his heart is beating constantly. Reminding him of just what he felt (and the other reasons he wants to know you).
✧ After his first conversation, the small part of his heart that beats for you grows to a large part - ensuring he’s aware of it.
✧ It’s what drives him to make sure that he proves himself to you, that makes him desperately wish that you’ll love him.
✧ He’s still respectful and courteous to you, insisting you get to know each other at least a little before you try anything, but when you’re not looking he views you a little as a lover would.
✧ Watching you look over Gondor, a soft blush settling on him as he sees you smile or hears you laugh.
✧ Committing the small things about you to memory, even if they’re only mentioned for a second.
𝐄𝐨𝐰𝐲𝐧
✧ At first, Éowyn tries her best not to acknowledge it, she knows she must focus on the crisis at hand - Helm’s Deep - and not her feelings.
✧ The thought only surfaces again when the women are being ushered into the caves, and she looks upon Helm’s Deep to try and see the people she cares about.
✧ She can see her uncle, high on the battlements, but her heart is fully reassured. Éowyn isn’t sure what’s wrong with it until she spots you, standing next to the others in the Fellowship and a part of her feels relief.
✧ One of the women next to her hurries her into the caves, and Éowyn feels her hand straying to the sword you’ve given her. A promise that you’ll return. A promise she needs you to keep.
✧ Being left alone in the caves, or as alone as you can be when surrounded by other people, her mind does stray to you. It strays to you every time she hears loud screaming outside, and every time she grips onto your sword for comfort. That you have given her means to protect herself.
✧ In the caves, she comes to the realisation that she does care for you. In a way she didn’t care for Aragorn.
✧ Because she knows more about you, because what she loves about you is not just a constructed image built up in her own mind but instead based on your actions and personality.
✧ When the battle is over and she looks at you again she is assured in her feelings. Glad that she knows them, even if she does not wish to act on them just yet.
✧ This time, she can get to know the object of her desires.
𝐄𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫
✧ For the first time since you've become friends with him, it's Éowyn that manages to run up and greet you before her brother. He comes over slightly behind, greeting you in a subdued way and leaving quickly.
✧ Éomer feels guilty about leaving you there, seeing the confusion in your face, but he doesn't want to imagine the alternatives.
✧ As much as he loves you, there's a high chance you don't feel the same way - and he doesn't want awkwardness between you and him to hurt his sister's closest friendship.
✧ He also knows the unspoken rules of dating when it comes to siblings - that their friends are off limits.
✧ His heart hurts when he next sees you, as he still goes to watch your training and talk with you.
✧ But now he knows that talking isn't just what he wants anymore. He wants to take you on dates, to shower you in gifts, to kiss you in celebration after battle.
✧ In order to keep your friendship happy, he doesn't. He keeps being your friend - of course - and simply hopes it will go away before you notice.
𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐝
✧ Bard is the only one who is truly uncertain about this, and if he wants to try and further your relationship.
✧ Not because of you, he knows when he’s in love and by Valar he knows he’d happily spend his life with you, but because of his children. He knows losing their mother has been hard on them, and he doesn’t want to upset the delicate balance they have.
✧ But on the other hand, they all truly like you - and he doesn’t think they’d mind having another parent around, especially as you two could take it slow.
✧ And then he realises you might not want to be with the kids, or with him. He’s a bargeman who’s hated by Laketown’s rulers, and you’re in the city guard.
✧ It still doesn’t change how you interact, as the children still drag him over to talk to you and when Bard’s with you it’s easy for him to forget a lot of his worries.
✧ He becomes more reserved, although that’s much more a reflection of his own insecurities than any slight on you whatsoever.
✧ Eventually, he does miss one of your informal meetings - still feeling unsure and guilty - but when he sees you again and you ask where he was Bard knows he can’t do it again.
𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐢𝐥
✧ Thranduil isn’t sure how to approach this realisation, although more because of you than because of him.
✧ When an elf falls in love then they have truly fallen in love, and Thranduil - knowing that he’s acknowledged his feelings - knows exactly how he feels about you. He can acknowledge when you make his heart skip a beat as you smile at him, even if he can’t stop it (and his smile that always grows to match yours).
✧ No, it was you he was worried about. Because he was your king, and your employer.
✧ And even if you were beginning to mean the world to him, he essentially ran your world. It would be unfair of him to do something that could take advantage of you.
✧ Once he’s aware of what he’s doing he does try to hold back affectionate gestures from being quite as obvious, and becomes a bit more closed off - although not necessarily colder.
✧ Regrets it the second he sees the worry in your eyes, and how you’ve become more withdrawn as well.
✧ (Feels truly awful when Legolas complains you haven’t been as happy recently, and he should fix it because ‘he’s the king’)
𝐓𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥
✧ For as much as Tauriel does like you, she really doesn’t change that much.
✧ Both of you still have a strict patrol schedule, and both of you still spend a lot of your free-time together, trying to make each other laugh or just smile on the bad days.
✧ She is slightly more awkward sparring, however.
✧ Tauriel manages to knock the blade out of your hand, and you immediately try to knock her to the ground - ending up on top of her as you two struggle.
✧ Thoughts of… other things briefly occur to her - and you can see her blushing while you get up, apologising.
✧ Assuring you it’s fine, Tauriel curses at herself internally before offering to spar again.
✧ When the two of you are closer together she’s certainly more aware than she used to be, although she’s still professional about it.
✧ She does realise she can’t spend her entire life simply being your friend, and does eventually resolve to let you know… in some way… somehow.
𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐫
✧ Affectionately, Lindir does not manage to hide his crush very well - or function incredibly either.
✧ He’s a lot more conscious of what’s the subject of his poetry, and almost every poem he writes ends up connected to you in some way. Whether it’s through your eyes, an analogy to you, or even if something small - like the jewels being the colours of your eyes.
✧ He still meets you, although he finds it harder to meet your eyes - at least without having blush explore all over his face.
✧ It’s obvious, but he still carries his conversations just as eloquently as he did before, and still wants to spend just as much time with you.
✧ And he’s also terrified. Of becoming mortal.
✧ Lindir is sure he loves you, but he also knows he doesn’t want to die. And for both of those things to occur at the same time, he isn’t sure which one he wants more.
✧ Although he’s having doubts, it isn’t about your relationships - just his own feelings - and he knows that he does want to try something with you.
✧ Being the poet he is, he begins to notice them turning into love ballads as well. Maybe to recite to you one day, or hopefully to recite to you.
𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐫
✧ Haldir is the elf that doesn’t really change in his interactions with you. He recognises he likes you, but he doesn’t see the need to behave like a lovesick puppy.
✧ If you do like him it should be for him, not some persona he’s put on because he’s either too embarrassed to see you or because he’s too busy being enamoured by your presence.
✧ He does make an effort to spend time with you, offering a place on patrols with him, and giving a tour of Lothlórien - but he tries to treat you as he would a friend,
✧ It doesn’t stop him being more concerned about you than he would another stranger, making sure that you’ve spent your day exploring instead of being overwhelmed by grief.
✧ Also very good at not blushing, although because you’re an elf you can just about pick it up - that and the small quirk up of his lips when he sees you.
✧ You can also spot, if you’re trying to, the looks he gives you when he thinks you can’t see him; they’re not intrusive, merely admiring of your presence.
✧ (Also has the added advantage of you not knowing him before his crush, so if he ever does something too romantic you'll just think it's something he does normally. Maybe... he hopes.)
𝐄𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐧
✧ Elladan, at first, has a small crisis. Just a small one - mind you. He’s only realised that he’s in love with his best friend of almost a century.
✧ Does the smart thing of immediately going on a trip out and away from Imladris to avoid you try and think about his feelings.
✧ Most of the elves in Imladris are just glad he’s finally figured it out, and that they don’t have to watch the two of you dance around each other any longer.
✧ They don’t notice too much of a behavioural shift in him, he’s always been pining after you.
✧ He’s one of the best at accepting it, once the crisis is over, as he knows he’d be honoured to be your friend no matter what and you two can still meet each other without courting.
✧ Spends a few days with you, in which you can tell he’s acting slightly off. Elladan does not help with your worries, as when you ask him if he’s ill he answers much too quickly before avoiding eye-contact for the next hour.
✧ (Elrohir finds all of this absolutely hilarious.)
✧ Also a small part of him that's very glad he's fallen in love with an elf, so he knows he can travel to Valinor and be with his mother and father (and hopefully brother) when the time comes.
𝐄𝐥𝐫𝐨𝐡𝐢𝐫
✧ Is in two minds about how he should approach you. On one hand, he doesn’t see the point in disguising his intentions and dancing around for the next twenty years (and as a mortal, you really can’t afford to wait that long). On the other hand, he’s a romantic and he wants this to play out like a story of old.
✧ A story where the two of you bond together, overcome challenges, and eventually look into each other’s eyes and- so he might be thinking a little far ahead.
✧ He’s naturally a charismatic elf, so doesn’t take issue with talking to you and trying to charm you. He’d do that even if he just wanted to be your friend.
✧ Elrohir is annoyed about the timing of this whole situation, it’s inconvenient to gain a crush just as you're about to march to war on the Dark Lord of Mordor.
✧ Also hovers over you a bit too much. He knows you can fight, but he certainly doesn’t want to lose you.
✧ Vehemently denies doing anything at all if asked, regardless of who’s asking.
✧ Enjoys annoying you slightly too much, although this mainly comes from him being clingy and trying to spend a lot of time with you.
✧ (In the back of his mind he finds it hilarious that both him and Arwen have fallen for mortals who have high positions of power in Gondor. Is not looking forward to his father finding out.)
A/N : Mmm, definitely on time. Also, I'm doing the confession scenes soon - so I do have a poll up about the use of y/n. Going to try avoiding using it, but if you read these then it will help me out so I know what you guys want. Thanks again for reading, and feedback is more than welcomed! Have a nice day/night <3

ask and you shall receive! @elia-the-bibliophile
i have a few warnings, i’m coming out of fan fiction retirement so bare with me. i didn’t proofread that well so don’t mind any spelling mistakes, i used some shitty sindarin translator on google so i do apologize if it’s incorrect, and. i think that’s all! :)
In my arms
gif not mine!
Summary: Thranduil isn’t very fond of you and legolas’s relationship but nonetheless he bares it.
Pairing: Thranduil x reader
Warnings: small hint toward sex (nothing specific)
Word count: idk tbh i forgot to check
Category: hurt/comfort(?)
—————————
“final count, forty-two.” Legolas spoke matter-a-factly across from you as he ran his fingers over his perfectly crafted, elvish bow. You gave him a raised eyebrow and drew your sword in a blink of an eye, plunging it into an orc that had its axe raised behind Legolas’s back.
“forty four”
—————————
It was midday in middle earth, you and Legolas had volunteered to clear the rogue orcs that ravaged near by villages, burning and spilling blood mercilessly. It wasn’t often you got to spend time with him due to your other duties in Mirkwood.
The Woodland Realm had been your home for many ages, you were an elf but a fool in their eyes. Woodland elves aren’t the wisest of the bunch but nonetheless, they’re your home. Legolas was the closest you’d ever get to a brother, he cared for you as family.
However that could never sit right with Thranduil.
He was a stubborn man, possessive some may say, which is why you and Legolas’s little adventure wasn’t mentioned to the elven king. Maybe it wasn’t the smartest choice considering he will find out eventually, he had men everywhere you look. At the end of the day, you’re accompanied by one of the most skilled princlings you’ve ever came across, so what could justify Thranduils brooding this time?
You and Legolas were on your way back to your residence, small talk was made but you both enjoyed simply just each others company, even if it was in silence.
“and what do you suppose daddy dearest will have to say once we return?” you inquired, not looking up from the ground as the both of them walked walked. “something along the lines of ‘no one leaves here without my knowledge, i’ve told you many times legolas’ then send me off as if i’m some child” He mocked his father, which earned a small smile in amusement from you.
As you entered the throne room, you and Legolas stood near the doors for a moment, exchanging farewells for the day. He embraces you in a warm comforting hug as he always did before he let you be, smoothing down the back of your hair and nodding his head before exiting to mind his duties. You took a deep breath to prepare yourself for what was to come as you walked down the long stone walk way to the throne, which sat the most beautiful man you’ve ever laid eyes upon. He sat nearly diagonal, legs crossed with his arms on either side of the throne. Glittery gems littered his fingers and crown that complimented his usual flawless elven apparel.
His long white hair shifted with his gaze as he spotted the smaller elf before him. He gave her no expression which was expected. He stared, waiting for you to speak, you could feel his mood from where you stood, it reeked of attitude.
Thranduil had spotted the interaction between you and legolas, it burned a fire of rage inside of him, only he was allowed to lay even a finger upon the elf. She belonged to him. His mind raced with thought but never cracked even a sliver of visible emotion.
“my lord” you began to bow before him until he raised a hand, putting a halt to your actions. You stood back up straight in confusion and shifted on your feet, Thranduils eyes staggering into you.
He finally spoke. “i don’t think i remember warranting your leave.”
You stood your ground, after all, the king would do anything for this she-elf.
“orcs were bringing treachery over near by villages, surely you saw the fires, my lord.”
You dipped your toe into the water, testing him.
His eyes narrowed at you, his thick dark eyebrows coming together, he was unimpressed. “and what does that have to do with me?”
“nothing, my lord. Me and Legolas simply volunteered.” you took no more than five steps closer toward the tall man. “we both had a free morning, i see not the problem.” Thranduil uncrossed his legs slowly, rising from his seat. His garments fell into place, the long white, detailed over coat trailed behind him as he made his way down the wooden steps. You were eyeing him like the finest piece of treasure, his grace and royalty always intimidated you.
“very well. however, i see no reason why my son had to accompany you.” he challenged, standing only a few feet from you, hands intertwined at his front.
“i mean not to disrespect you, my lord, but i don’t see a problem with the company of your son. would you have had me go alone? perhaps getting killed?” you know he would react to that, and he did. A long sigh drew from his nostrils, getting quite impatient despite having lived for more than 8,000 years.
“Thranduil, it is to you.” he steps even closer to you and peers down at you like an animal hunting prey. “you two seem.. close.” he followed up, taking the knuckle of his index finger to push a strand of misplaced hair behind your ear. “yes. he’s the only one who will even speak to me in this realm, other than you.” you finally raised your head up to meet his piercing blue eyes. “he is the only one who treats me like family. a brother.” you continued to further solidify your point.
This wasn’t the first time you’ve had a conversation like this with Thranduil. He’s a curious yet jealous mess, whether he likes to admit it or not. This conversation was slowly taking a toll on his heart, nasty remarks threatened his throat and boiling tears threatened his eyes. He remained calm, the elf in front of him reminding him of his purpose.
“he touched you.” Thranduil simply said while tilting his head to the side a bit. If this was his attempt at intimidating you, it sure as hell was working. He made something in your heart weak, yearning for him. “surely you aren’t jealous of your very own son, right?” your tone changed, attempting to take the upper hand in this situation, and based on his expression, it was working. your crossed your arms behind your back and gave him your best doe eyes.
“i mean not to make you feel this way, you know Legolas doesn’t think of me that way, and nor do i.”
Thranduils hand fell from your cheek down to your waist, gripping fairly tight as if you were going to disappear. “i know my son shall never dare to try my woman, but you are special and you know that. it wouldn’t take a lot for him to change his mind.” At this point you were bored of the conversation, you only ever had eyes for Thranduil, but that is hard for him to understand. He’s not used to this kind of love and anything that happens under his nose makes him rethink every single thing that has ever come to him. you were his star.
“oh meleth nin” Your heart ached for the king in front of you. He has seen many a heartbreak. He couldn’t bare to handle another. You were much younger than the elven king, but you knew when his heart was hurting, and you were going to fix that. Both of your hands raised to his face, his skin was like porcelain, flawless and pale. Your thumbs ran over his cheekbones, he instinctively leaned into your touch, his eyes fluttering shut. He may seem intimidating, but sometimes even the most wretched need comfort and reassurance.
“Legolas is no more than a brother to me. you need not worry. I pledged my heart to you a long time ago Thranduil and that is how it will stay.” you got as close as you could to him to where you could still reach him. Your hands never left his face and his arms came to wrap around your waist completely. “Im nifred i er aur im lothron ú- n- farn an cin.”(i fear that one day i may not be enough for you) He whispered just loud enough for you to hear. Your heart shattered at the broken man. You wished you could take all of his trouble for yourself so he’d never have to bare them again. His head fell to your shoulder, nuzzling his face into your neck. You’d never seen him so vulnerable before. You held the back of his head, gently smoothing over his hair and scratching his scalp.
“meleth nin, my heart and soul belongs to you. there’s nothing in this earth that could give me the love you do.” You whispered into his ear, kissing the pointy tips and they flushed red. You felt his body shudder at the action and held him closer. “don’t let a simple adventure spoil your mind.”
you lifted his head to face you and leaned yours against his. “im mel cin”(i love you).
Thranduil sighed in content and took your small hand in his, holding it to his cheek as his eyes fell shut once again. He kisses your wrist and opens his eyes. “i apologize for my behavior. it was unnecessary” he drops your hand and pulls you into his large figure, engulfing you in a warm embrace. You returned the embrace by holding him tight, breathing in his woodsy scent as you did so. your head just barely reached his chest, you felt like a princess in his arms. “your apology is accepted. you never have to question my devotion to you. Ask for reassurance and i will give it to you, sweet king.”
He released you and captured your lips in a soft but passionate kiss, he tasted of pine and elvish wine. you savored the kiss as your hands cupped his face, using your thumb to draw gentle circles over the points of his ears. You always loved his body language especially since you’re the only one who ever sees him express emotion besides Legolas. As the kiss ended, you smiled up at him, to which he returned but quickly was replaced with a huff of defeat, his eyes dared to close and his legs nearly trembling.
“you witch” he feigned the insult, merely joking as you gave his ears attention. Causing him to sweep you off your feet into his arms and head toward his chambers.
