Burnout

Our Story Masterlist Summary: Harry and Louis help YN.

Based on this request.

Warning: grief, anxiety, loss of a loved one, fainting, emotional distress, emotional burnout, hospital

Losing any special person in your life is hard. It leaves an empty hole in your heart. YN had experienced losing her first friend, her best friend, her biggest supporter…her Mum. But losing her little sister was a pain she’d never felt before.

She remembers going to the hospital when her Mum had given birth to Felicite, her Dad eager for her, Louis and baby Lottie to meet their new sister. She can remember seeing the tiny baby cuddled in her Mums arms, wrapped in a light pink blanket. She can see herself clearly placing the tiny bunny, she had bought from the shop with her Nan the day before, in the the hospital cot next to her Mum’s bed.

As the Tomlinson sisters got older, so their love for make up, hair and fashion took over. YN can remember them all gathering together in her bedroom, each taking it in turns to do each others hair and makeup. All sitting and giggling at how messy the room got from their hours of fun.

YN used to get annoyed at every family gathering, when an older uncle would always make a joke at how much taller Felicite was compared to her. But right now she would do anything to go back and cherish this moment of her younger sister laughing and poking fun too.

Around 3pm on Wednesday afternoon, the sound of their buzzer persistently being rung caught Harry and YN’s attention, as they were both sat in the living area making the most of a quiet day off together.

Harry frowned, finding it unusual that they had unexpected visitors. When he saw Louis on the camera, he didn’t think twice about allowing him in.

He opened the front door, and instantly had a bad feeling. Louis didn’t say a word as he walked past Harry, but the redness and his stained teared cheeks told him it wasn’t good.

YN smiled as Louis walked in excited to see her brother, but her grin suddenly dropped when she noticed his appearance. “Lou, what’s wrong?”.

Louis stood in the middle of the room, YN and Harry both waiting for him to speak. But now that Louis had to say the words out loud, he couldn’t. Harry and YN shared a look, concerned at what Louis was going to say.

Louis took a deep breath and closed his eyes. “It’s Felicite.”. The tears pouring down his cheeks, told YN every thing.

At the realisation that they had lost their baby sister, YN launched herself into Louis arms. Her fingers clenched around the fabric of his sweatshirt, Louis holding onto YN, scared of losing her too.

Once again, Harry felt useless. He lent against the wall in pure shock that the people closest to him was having to go through losing someone else in such a short amount of time. Watching YN sob into her brother’s arms, pulled on his heart as it thumped hard against his chest. The sound of her sniffling, broke him inside as he held himself together on the outside.

“I can’t do this, I can’t…not again!” YN spoke into Louis chest as the tears ran one after the other down her cheeks, leaving wet steaks in their memory. He held her tighter, knowing how much this was hurting her - because he too felt the same. Harry had to look up to the ceiling to stop his own from falling.

Leaving out a deep breath he was holding, Harry knew what he had to do. He walked over to the two and pulled them both into his embrace. He left a long peck to YN’s head and gave Louis’ shoulder a squeeze.

After a while of comforting each other, Harry trying to do everything he could to look after them both. Listening to their memories, listening to their sobs and reassuring them both that he was going to be by their side every step of the way. Harry glanced over to see after hours of crying and grieving they were both fast asleep on the sofa, Teddy cuddled into YN’s side, he decided to leave them rest and Harry placed a large blanket of the two of them.

It had been a few days since Felicite had passed, and YN and Harry were travelling to Doncaster to be closer to her grandparents. Harry knew the next few days and weeks were going to be hard, but Harry wasn’t expecting YN to become silent. She sat in the passenger seat with Teddy on her lap as Harry drove, her body turned slightly towards the door as she held her arms around her and stared out of the window.

“Do you want to listen to music?” Harry asked as he flicked his eyes over to her quickly. YN didn’t blink, more, speak, nothing. She stared out of the car window, not making a sound.

“Do you want to stop for something to eat, or to stretch our legs?” Harry tried again. But still nothing.

Harry was trying to support her, he couldn’t even imagine how she was feeling right now. He felt empty himself, he had been apart of the Tomlinsons lives for nine years and had seen YN’s sisters grow into young women, so he too was grieving.

Arriving at YN’s grandparents house, Harry watched YN walk in front of him with Teddy in her arms and bypass everyone in the kitchen and to what he could only assume was into the cosy conservatory at the back of the house.

Jen, Len and Louis looked between each other, not once had YN ever not greeted or acknowledged them.

“Harry, love…is everything okay?”. Jen looked at him, concern written all over her face. Her eyes desperately wanting an answer.

Harry let out a big sigh. “She hasn’t spoken for what feels like days, and I get it but I’m really scared somethings going to happen.”.

“I’ll go and speak with her.”. Louis announced as he got up from his seat, walking in the direction where YN disappeared to.

Louis wandered around trying to find where his sister had hidden herself away. He was about to call for Harry when he couldn’t find her, but then a small figure caught his eye. He could see YN tucked up, her knees resting against her body as she stared into space. Louis noticed the small candle burning on the side table next to her and a photo of their Mum, Teddy looking up at him with pleading eyes from his place on the floor.

“Hey Tiny…am I going to have the silent treatment too?”. Louis tried to ease in a joke, hoping it would get a reaction out of YN. But when YN didn’t move or speak, he continued. “I guess so…I’ll make the most of your silence then and do all the fookin’ talking.”.

Louis took a seat in the chair opposite his sister. When he looked at YN, he could see that she was just staring almost like she was in a daze. “I know this isn’t easy Kiddo, believe me I’m putting on a brave face at the moment…trying to make sure the girls and Nan and Grandad are okay.”.

“We’re going to get through this…together! We’re strong, Mum taught us how to be strong”. Louis reinforced how their Mum always showed them that as long as they all had eachother they could get through anything. “Also, you and Harry are in a good place again…and he wants to be there for you…so please let him”.

Harry couldn’t help but wonder what Louis may have said to YN when he went to look for her earlier on. But he was pleasantly surprised when she rolled over in bed next to him and lifted his arm so she could cuddle into his side. He placed a sweet peck to her head, followed with an “I love you”.

The commotion and several voices downstairs woke Harry. He could see the light sky shining through the bedroom window but he was glad to see YN peacefully asleep, her hands tucked under her cheek and like normal Teddy was cuddled up on his blanket at the end of the bed.

Harry put on his shorts, t shirt and hoodie before he went downstairs and was greeted with the smell of an English breakfast. Jen greeted him and told him to help himself to the breakfast spread she had been cooking.

Louis appeared from the living room, a cup of tea in his hand. “How was she last night?”. He brought the mug up to his lips to take a sip.

“I’m not sure what you said but she let me comfort her”. Harry explained a grateful smile on his face. “She still hasn’t spoken but small steps”.

“She’ll be alright, she’s a strong woman”. Louis reassured him.

Harry and Louis got lost in conversation, as they both ate some breakfast together, both sipping on their mugs of tea. But breaking them from their conversation was Teddy’s feet running towards Harry and barking loudly at him.

“Hey bud!” Harry went to pick the small dog up, but when Teddy jumped away barking and running towards the stairs and then back to Harry, alarm bells went off for them. “Shit..it must be YN”.

Harry ran up the stairs, following Teddy’s steps and Louis right behind them. Teddy ran towards the bathroom, where the sound of the water from the shower could be heard. The two of them were petrified at what they were about to face.

“YN? Babe?”. Harry shouted towards the bathroom door but the silence was loud. The anxiety bubbled up inside of Harry’s chest whilst Louis also shouted his sister’s name.

Harry wasted no time and opened the bathroom door, where they could see YN on the floor, her eyes closed as she laid still but her body shivered. Whilst Harry ran straight to her and kneeled down next time her, Louis ran to get a blanket from the cupboard and grabbed his phone ready to call for an ambulance.

Hours had felt like weeks for Harry and Louis as they sat in a small private waiting room, wanting answers. As much as their grandparents wanted to be there too, Louis had reassured them that Lottie and the twins needed them at home.

“I swear I’m going fookin’ grey”. Louis broke the silence with a joke. Explaining how all the worry and stress was going to turn his hair grey.

“They’re all really lucky to have you, you know that”. Harry nudged Louis shoulder slightly. “You’re one of a kind as a brother, looking after them all.”.

Louis looked down, not wanting to accept the compliment. “They would all do the same for me…plus that’s what big brothers are for”.

The door opening, Interrupted their heartwarming conversation. A female doctor entered, a file filled with a paper in her hands. “YN Tomlinson’s family?”. When Harry and Louis both responded, she continued. “We’ve ran some tests and we’ve come to the conclusion that YN may have experienced a drop in blood pressure, which is why she fainted”.

“Is she alright? Is she going to be okay?”. Harry panicked, worry evident in his voice as he sat on the edge of the seat.

“YN is okay, but we given her some medication to keep her body rested as she was showing signs of stress.”. The doctor explained, looking between Harry and Louis. “Has YN experienced anything that may have caused her to become anxious or stressed?”.

Louis took a breath before the words had to slip from his mouth. “Uh we…um…our sister passed away a few days ago and…our Mum passed just over two years ago.”.

“I am sorry for your loss”. A sincere comment was made by the doctor. “That does explain why we would think that YN has experienced emotional burnout.”.

“Is there anything that could help her, she hasn’t spoken much or anything these past few days?”. Harry eagerly wanted to help, at this point he was willing to do anything.

The doctor took a seat opposite where Harry and Louis were sat. “There are different services out there that may benefit you all as a family, that could support with grief but YN would have to decide if she wants the support and possibly if she is feelings this much emotion…which is completely understandable…then you may want to support through counselling.”.

Harry and Louis shared a look, wondering what the next few days were going to look like for them.

It had been a few more hours until they allowed Harry and Louis into the room to see YN. As they walked into the hospital room, they could see YN sleeping in the bed. A white sheet covered her body to keep her warm and a cannula was attached to her hand.

Harry went straight to her side and held onto her hand that was free from any tubes and wires, and he placed a gentle peck. “I know you love to keep me on my toes but you’ve almost given me a heart attack today”.

“I’ll give you some time alone, I’ve got to ring me Nan and fill her in on anything…I’ll be right outside”. Louis explained, walking over to place a kiss on YN’s forehead before leaving the room.

Harry moved YN’s hair away from her face with his gentle fingers. “I’m going to help you through this…I promise!”.

When Harry Styles's black limousine arrived at the church (in typical sensible Harry style, he was the first to get there), onlookers expected to see the other members of One Direction climb out alongside him.

After all, in their heyday they would refer to one another as 'brothers'. Only those five boys could ever comprehend the magnitude of their overnight fame and how it upended their lives entirely.

However, Harry wasn't with his bandmates Niall Horan, Zayn Malik or Louis Tomlinson. Instead he was flanked by actor turned chat show host James Corden and their television producer friend Ben Winston.

The trio are very close. Harry lived in Winston's loft while his house in Hampstead was being renovated in 2013, spending a significant amount of their free time with Corden.

Arriving at Liam's funeral separately was an illustration of just how far apart the bandmates have grown since their reign as the world's most successful boyband, when they presented themselves very much as 'besties'.

After Harry, Niall was the next to arrive with his girlfriend Amelia Woolley, then Zayn and then Louis. Outside the church, only Zayn and Louis were seen sharing a moment together before Zayn left alone shortly afterwards.

'Of course, they all wanted to be there, they shared so much with Liam,' said one insider. 'But that doesn't mean they are best friends any more. They haven't worked together for almost ten years – they have grown apart.

In fact, the last time they all met up, it was because Simon Cowell insisted they did after Louis's mum died, and that was eight years ago.

'But it was just so telling to see Harry arrive with his super-famous friend James rather than the other band members. It kind of told you what you needed to know about how the boys have drifted apart.'

I'm told there is very little contact between Harry and the others, and that it's a similar story for Niall, though he was the last of the band members to see Liam before he died.

Indeed, Liam was in Buenos Aires to see the Irish heart-throb in concert, and afterwards had what I'm told was a 'quick and fleeting' meeting with him.

It is surely agonising to all involved that one of the first times the band had reunited in years was in the hours after Liam died on October 16 – to agree on the most poignant words to pay tribute to him.

In a statement signed 'Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry', they wrote: 'We're completely devastated by the news of Liam's passing.

'In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. The memories we shared with him will be treasured for ever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam.'

To the outside world, it appeared little had changed since their days travelling the globe as the biggest boyband since the Beatles.

In fact, those closest to Liam at the end were Louis and Zayn, who have both had their own troubles in recent years.

Louis struggled following the deaths of his mother Johannah Deakin in 2016, and his little sister Felicite – who accidentally overdosed on cocaine, an anxiety drug and painkillers aged just 18 – four years later. Meanwhile, Zayn was reportedly axed by his record label RCA due to his alleged cannabis use in 2021.

Dailymail being the low of the low, posting articles about this at a time like this 😬. But it is kind of ironic that #those people said they weren't seen together as a whole bc they didn't want the attention when as usual that brought even more attention (mainly by fans) and tbh all the media would run with the "1D memebers reunited at their lost brother's funeral" (and they did) whether there where pics of them together or not, just them being there is enough to generate these articles. What's even more telling is that there were only pics of Harry and Niall together, which was already established that they get along well enough, no other pictures of the other members together (not talking about Louis and Zayn bc it's obvious they just met at the entry and ofc they would be civil to one another at a time like this, which also kind of confirms that they didn't even coordinate their arrivals to not be seen together, bc if that was the case why would Zayn and Louis arrive almost at the same time, they had a public fall out them interacting would take away the "attention" no?)

Born on the 29th of August, 1993, LIAM JAMES PAYNE was the youngest child of Karen Payne and Geoff Payne. Being the only son in a family of three, Liam is a younger brother to Ruth and Nicola. Little Liam's hometown was supposedly Wolverhampton in the west midlands of England.

In 2008, Liam auditioned on X-Factor, season six, as a fearless and confident kid. Having been shut down by Simon Cowell, he returned to fulfil his wishes of participating again in the seventh season in 2010.

+ Liam is a 30-year-old man who has had his ups and downs as of 2023. Often recognized to be mistreated by certain people, management and authorities, Liam has quite a conflicting reputation. Nevertheless, he is an artist who is equally surrounded by millions of loving fans who always look out for him and put their whole trust in him. He is admired globally for his amazing connection with his fans. Always putting them first, Liam is quick to check up on his fans at any time of the day. His fans are always by his side, basking in the love he gives them and vice versa.

Liam Payne still needs to work on putting himself first, but he is admired by millions of people as he has gone through a lot more than what a teenager should go through. Regardless of the misjudgement, he's facing in media, Liam still tries to be there for everyone, he and his angel smile.

Born on the 13th of September, 1993, NIALL JAMES HORAN was the second child of Maura Horan and Bobby Horan. Being the youngest son of the Horan family, Niall is a brother to Greg Horan. As a cheery kid from Ireland, Niall grew up in the beautiful meadows of the Irish Republic town, Mullingar.

In 2010, X-Factor first brought its' auditions to Dublin, Ireland. 17-year-old Niall was more than determined to sacrifice everything and take advantage of this opportunity to try out his shot with X-Factor ( and maybe Katy Perry as well? )

+ By 2023, Niall has considered himself to be a professional golfer, a cardigan collector and a skincare influencer rather than a singer. The almost 30-year-old is thriving on social media platforms with his finger guns, cocktails and Lewis Capaldi. And might I say his fans, Lovers ( Or Horn Dogs, your pick ) are just as happy with his approaches and entertaining content. But truly, Niall is renowned for his amazing music as well as his voice. The industry sees him as a genuine and laidback artist who puts his family and fans before everything and goes to an extreme extent to put a smile on their faces.

Niall Horan is one of the members of One Direction who has really healed and found himself after all the bricks thrown at him. Although he had been treated wrongly by the world, he has put those thoughts aside and still treats everyone with love and utter kindness.

Born on the 1st of February, 1994, HARRY EDWARD STYLES is the second child of Anne Twist. Being the youngest son of the family, Harry is the younger brother to Gemma Styles. As a kid, Harry grew up with his mother and sister in the small village of Holmes Chapel in Cheshire, England.

16-year-old Harry only signed up for X-Factor in 2010 to get some honest feedback and reviews about his voice and perhaps, just because a friend was trying it out as well.

+ By 2023, Harry is one of the members who has reached his peak of success. Being on the edge of his 20s, Harry has an army of fans behind him with pride flags in their hands, boas around their neck and heart-shaped sunglasses over their eyes. Harry is the epitome of fashion and music of the present time, he is the talk of the town, and his music is at the top of the Billboard charts, his fans, Harries, are an uncontrollable fandom. But yet, Harry doesn't seem as close with his dear fans. Harries doesn't mind though, not at all, it makes sense as the media directed at him isn't the kindest. His unconditional love and support and ass-shaking music are enough to be called fanservice and keep them going. All his fans ever want is for him to be comfortable, open and proud of himself.

On the outside, Harry is a man all about love and kindness. His motto in life is to be himself and show his true self to others. But yet, maybe there is more to the story. As much as successful as he is career-wise, he might just need to look back on a quite unsuccessful job at loving and not hurting the people who have been with him since the beginning.

Born on the 28th of November, 1994, RUHI AVIANA RAE was the second child of Soniya Fernando and Jonathon Rae. Being the only daughter of the family, Aviana is a sister to Alden Rae. From age one to eleven, Aviana grew up with her family in the bustling south asian city of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Then, the Rae family migrated back to England before taking residency in Hampstead Heath, Greater London.

In 2010, then 15-year-old Aviana went out of her way to join the X-Factor auditions without her parents' initial knowledge as she was only presented with the chance to audition by her school as a prize for her performance.

+ As of 2023, 28-year-old Aviana ( now, Fernsby ) is considered to be the biggest pop star in the world. With an out-of-the-world discography, a couple hundred music awards and a core fan base just as strong as her, the name Aviana is laced on the tongue of every single person around the world. With her melancholic, psychological and music you can relate on a level that's kind of concerning, Aviana is considered the IT girl of the 21st century. Despite being a very in-demand and famous artist, Aviana still makes time to connect with her fans, as much as she can even if it's sharing a small video of her trying to make breakfast for herself. Although Aviana's music is scattered from pop rock to bedroom indie to melancholic ballads, her fans are right behind her, supporting her in her every move with their feathery angel wings, halos and sparkling wands in hand.

Despite being on top of the Billboard charts almost all year, Aviana still has a long way to when it comes to self-discovery and correction. She still needs time to figure out who she really is after being tossed aside by one too many people on multiple occasions. And there's no doubt that her fans will be by her side through every step of that.

March 25, 2015 was the day it was announced that Zayn was leaving One Direction.

October 16th, 2024 was the day Liam died.

November 6th was the day Liam’s body was flown back from Argentina to the UK.

Yesterday, November 20, was the day of Liam’s funeral.

December 7, 2016 was the day Jay Deakin, Louis’ mother, passed away from cancer.

And March 13, 2019 was the day Felicite Tomlinson, Louis’ sister, passed away as well.

You know what I can’t stop thinking about? As dark is it sound the 1D guys saw through Liam what would’ve happen after they pass away, their lives and last days would be the subject of making as much money as possible from them and their funeral would be documented as well…like this is so fucked up that on top of their grief they also have to live with these thoughts. Also the way the fans are so disrespectful and invasive and theorising about Liam’s passing is so disrespectful to me and the fact that they’re think they’re doing something good…

The fact that Louis said this, I can’t even imagine the conflicting thoughts and feelings he has towards the media&fans during this time

Speaking to The Sun’s Bizarre column, the former The X Factor judge said: “Initially, when the news broke [about Félicité] last year, I was bitter about the fact that everybody was talking about it. […] Loads of people were speculating online about what might have happened. I was just told that it was the reality of the situation, which it is, and I had to accept it.

“So that’s the negative side to it, but a positive side to it and something I wasn’t prepared to feel was the love from my fans. I wasn’t ready to feel like that, but I really needed it at the time. What was difficult was people speculating about details straight away, discussing online what might have happened when nobody really knew, and talking about my family. But actually when I looked further almost all of it was kind, and I felt loved.”

I suppose once you’ve passed away, none of that matters. You make sure your affairs are settled, that there’s a legal will and you’ve tried to say your goodbyes, and that’s it. It’s going to happen to us all someday; anyone with Louis’ net worth is probably already set up. There’s not much you can do about your legacy once you’re gone.

Which is why, in the middle of a career, one should try to live how one wants to be remembered. I don’t think the 1D guys are going to meet any new people who will be lifelong best friends anymore. Who they’re friends with now is who they’re going to have in 20 years. Romantic partners might come and go, but it’s hard.

In that clip, Louis looks so much younger and softer.

I know that Louis has five sisters and a brother but i read a couple of times that he has SIX sisters. I know the four Tomlinson sisters (including Felicite 😪) and the youngest twin sister. Yes, Louis has a sixth half-sister, the daughter of his biological father. Her name is Georgia, she's the same age as Lottie Tomlinson. They didn’t grow up together, I think they only met once when she was around 7 years old. Then, when Louis got famous, his bio father reappeared (surprise!🙄). Georgia was a young teen and met Louis at a 1D thing like outside the venue. Kind of sad :(

I remember that she was on Twitter and of course the fans found her. But she grew up and very quickly disassociated herself from Louis and 1D (i remember seeing her Twitter and she was well into guns lol), and I think also her parents had separated too. She and Louis didn't know each other and she never courted the fandom.

it's not an unpopular opinion it's just wrong. Fizzy lived with Louis in London when she was older.

Fizzy left her boarding school in July 2018. She was in rehab in Egypt from 13 October - 15 November and posted from the facility (which everyone thought was a posh hotel) every few days. After that she moved to Earls Court. So when was she living with her stoner brother?
