Every now and then I feel bad for giving 0 context for anything, so gonna quickly summarize my story stuff under the cut
The Traveler’s Found (TTF)
Skye, Gill, Marth, Kydin, Leo, Kira, Krieg, Heiwa, Narcissa, Sebastian, Vadim, Bahemek, Xenon, etc
TTF is hard to summarize because it has 10 story arcs and they all lead into the other, but the plot begins with ‘A wizard terrorist attacks the king of Hou’lu sending two girls on a quest to stop him’ which sounds so simple doesn’t it -sobs-
Very adventure, political intrigue, slice of life elements
They basically travel all over the world, and I’ll quickly summarize what that’s like by listing each countries major influences
Hou’lu: Italian Renaissance, China
Sunobor: Medieval Germany, Japan, Inuit
Haldon: Folk Mexican, Folk Italian
Lavynna; Byzantine, some inspo from India to structure of things?
Gehinna: Ancient Hebrew
Parappa: Egypt-Germany
North Desert: Russia-Arabic
Harpies (more a tribe): Maasai
TTF of them all gets the most complicated but very incrementally, so it’s the hardest to express much on. But they get a cool hard magic system based on 10 elements so
Also TTF dragons are sentient, intelligent, and morally complex
—
The Miyoré Schism
A prequel to ttf by about 900 years
Faolan, Mien, Enlai, whatever I name the girl, Jiao
The plot here is a bit simpler
What happens when the one who pulls the blade only those Chosen by God can touch is among the race of people thought to be destined to serve?
This focuses largely on the Sha’li of East Hou’lu. As a race they have very distinct white hair, pale skin, and red eyes. At this time in history, monster taming was very common as well, so most the characters have a family or personal monster. Sha’li also have an ability to become “invisible” but in actuality they are lowering their ‘presence’ or ‘noticibility’ to all non-Sha’li
This story draws largely from Tibet for its aesthetics
—
Kingdoms
Ariella, James, Charles, Kiba
I have uprooted a lot about this story and not yet relayed it, but so far
A girl who wanted to become a soldier but was refused strikes out on adventure to do what she can for her country on her own- but to her chagrin gets a tag along
This story likely will have a soft magic system, and is definitely still based on Victorian and Japanese aesthetics. It’s actually a specific era of Japanese history but I can’t remember which. Possibly 16th c?
Despite this, it’s a low tech world.
Most fantasy type creatures/races do show up in Kingdoms, unlike my other stories
Dragons exist in Kingdoms but are universally evil and nobody has ever killed one
—
Magic and Cannons (MnC)
A wip name still
Cusick, Agathe, Romana, Kordell, Levi, Maureen, Ames, Sung-jin
I’m still figuring put the plot to this honestly, but the first bit is definitely
‘A narcissistic man is captured as a PoW and must find a way to escape’
There’s just three countries of any importance to this world, and it’s much less whimsical in nature than the others, being closer to reality in some ways, and having a lot more tech. Though it vibes as subtly cartoony in how characters have slightly exaggerated aspects to their personalities and behaviors.
Delemar is the country Cusick is from and is based on Wild West in many ways, they’re a very independent people which can be good and bad, they also give no hecks about safety and are pretty wild in general
Choson is where Romana is from and they are much more interested in normalcy and order, which can be both good and bad. They prefer reptiles and fish as pets to mammals actually, which feels important to mention. If you know much about history, I suppose it’s clear they draw a lot from Korea for aesthetics.
Choson is also a very mixed population in terms of race, which Delemar is very much not.
Kievan is where Agathe hails from and is based on Russia. In each case I tried sticking to 1850s-1900s ish for my influences of these countries, though socially they are very diff.
Kievan has an affinity for wine and is the only country that appreciates using electricity for power. They have harsh winters, especially compared to the other two countries which tend to be more tropical in climates. Kievan is less developed so far, but they tend towards legalism there, and while that can be bad, they are also the one not involved in a pointless war, so
MnC is what I call glasspunk, Delemar and Choson rely on ‘reactions’ for their energy sources, which I can only explain as ‘you know how if you mix two volatile liquids, they could explode? They harness the energy from such things’
This is possible because their magic system is a type of alchemy which has allowed them a lot of reactions not available to us, and with this they’ve been able to get treated glass which is nearly indestructible, great for containing anything they need.
Magic is still something within the individual, but in MnC the extent of what it does is change the properties of whatever you’re touching with your hands. If you specialize in using this and inventing things based off of things with changed properties, you’re called a mage.
MnC has a lot of strange tech this way, including trains, vehicles, customizeable guns, staves that through weird tech stuff can have sort of elemental effects, etc.
Electricity is not compatible with reactions btw, because it can cause them to explode outside of when they’re meant to, kinda like smoking by a bunch of canisters of gasoline, it might be a lil risky. So societies that use reactions do not use electricity and have things in place to get rid of it, and societies that use electricity don’t use reactions. Combining them can get cool tech, but is inherently risky.
oh whoops I went off there, huh. Oh well it’s not seen as often as the other types of societies/magics I listed so
Dragons in MnC are animals (technically wyverns?) and have been domesticated to be work animals. No fire breath but they do have a strong venom, I think a neurotoxin type?? And the insides of their mouths are orange 👀 oh and the domesticated ones are reflective like mirrors ish
—
Children of the Little Mine (CotLM)
Geno
This is the only one I plan to make a novel, because it’s set in 1950′s-1960′s New York City and I don’t care about those aesthetics at all
I don’t have it planned out very far for plot, but basically a gremlin thief boy of 17 has a strange ability to manipulate how gravity effects him, and seemingly nobody else in the world has this. But one day during a break and entering situation, Geno finds another boy with an ability, and from there they decide to try sticking together a bit to figure out why, and maybe put together a heist against a mafia boss in the mean time (two stealy boys)
This is very close to being historical fiction aside from abilities, which are /extremely/ rare in this world. I’m very inspired by Artemis Fowl and A Separate Peace for tone, and plan to have middleschool boys as my target audience. Though I love fantasy and such, this one’s still a bit close to my heart anyways
Anyways literally nobody asked for this I just do this to myself. I seriously wanna start practicing comic making skills, but I can’t do that too much for a daily thing when I can usually put in an hour at best. I’m trying to find a sweet spot for it all, but it may yet be awhile before I can post literally anything that sheds light on who the heck any of the chars I post are.
I want to though, and I’ve been running this blog for years now, so best to assume it’ll get there someday. I have still written a lot and planned out things, so progress still happens behind the scenes. Aside from the last few months but that’s not uncommon for this time of year. If you actually read this, thanks euchjsd I don’t think many will, but having it here makes me feel a bit better

11/11/11.... again!
ive been tagged by @surroundedbypearls & @elliswriting for 2 different sets of 11 questions, so i’ll be doing them both here! for @surroundedbypearls
What’s your favourite genre to write in and why? contemporary!! because contemporary issues are fun, and i like to write about people interacting with each other more than anything else!
Do you think you have a style/voice that you use more often in your writing? When did you develop that style? hmm... from the one creative writing class i took a few semesters ago, i guess it was kinda odd to a lot of the students there that i wrote in present tense??? i didn’t always write in present tense, i used to write in the past, but idk, over the years i just felt that present tense has a ... stronger sort of.... hmmmmm.... idk how to explain it. i just like how it feels or sound more than past tense at times.
Do you play video games? What’s your favourite? i don’t really play video games! not really a gamer. but i did play FFX and FFXIII (+ XIII-2 and lightning returns) before, though i sucked HAHAHAHA but i enjoyed them! and the only game i’m actually playing now is like... pubg on mobile, so yea. not a gamer! prefer watching people play games!
If you were going to do a WIP crossover, which OCs would be most interesting together? (If you’ve only got one WIP crossover with something else) oh yea i’d totally cross over with percy jackson that’ll be really fun! i love greek mythology anyway & i’d love to add some chinese mytho into the mix (even if i’m not particularly well-versed in it)
Do you prefer to plan WIPs in a document or through handwritten notes? in my brain, where it goes missing like, 98% of the time. sometimes i try to write notes in my phone, where it also goes missing when my phone dies. so basically... there’s no planning.
Do you multiple languages exist in your WIP? If so how do you address that in the story? not really i guess, but... well because i do imagine some characters to speak cantonese instead of chinese, and jun might also speak a lil hokkien since he’s from taiwan... i mean, i don’t really address that HAHA they are just presumed to all be speaking chinese. or, yknow, i’m doing what the good place is doing and like, everything is kinda translated for them. but it’s not said outright in the novel itself. idk man
What’s your favourite animated film that’s not Disney or Pixar? this is TOUGH because there are so many!!! hM. maybe grave of the fireflies. i love myself some history and angst.
Do your real-life surroundings influence your WIP’s settings? not at all
Which OCs would be most likely to breath the fourth wall? jun and zhen. the former has already done that.
How do you work out your OCs’ personalities? well i just observe things that i like and get inspired by them!
Do you prefer worldbuilding or character building? character!
now for @elliswriting!
What genre do you write? contemporary / fantasy
Are you a planner, pantser, or planster? i have no idea what this means but if you’re assuming i plan things out, you’ve thought wrong!
What is your approach to research? google a lot, open a bunch of tabs, let them fester while i wail over the amount of text i have to read, and leave them to lag my computer over the course of a few months or even years while i never get to them
What POV is your novel? Why are you writing it this way? third-person multi POV! well because they all have their own stories and you’ve to understand things through various characters. also, it’s more fun that way
Do you know how your story ends before you start writing? yeah, most of the times i do. the middle is the amorphous mess that i try not to touch, though
When creating characters, what comes first: appearance, backstory, motivation, personality, something else? personality! most likely, i have something that i am VERY EXCITED for the character to say (usually like... humour stuffs) and that’s where their personality gets built from
What trope do you actually like? ummmm... enemies turned friends. love it when it’s done well!!! look at zuko!!! look at scar (from fmab)!!! look at law (from one piece)!!! my loves!
How did you come up with your title? HAHA tbh i can’t really remember. i guess it’s like... okay so my title is like all things out of season, and yknow, fruits and stuff are out of season when they’ve... well, past their season. or like, when they’re no longer ripe and might be wilting and people just throw them away. and it’s kinda related to death also i think??? and since my wip is about death, they’re all kinda like... out of their ‘ripe season’ or their ‘prime’ so to speak and ... yea. HAHAHA. i don’t know. the name just gives me a sort of really strong feeling that i like. also since where they live, it’s always like... between spring-winter, those are the out-of-season months, don’t you think?
If your WIP had a theme song, what would it be? i’ve answered this here ! go check it out!
How has your MC developed, not within the plot, but since you first created them? well, i never thought that shou would be this absurd a person. or this dramatic. he was supposed to be a lil spooky yknow, kinda weird but also creepy. now he’s just weird.
Your MC faces certain death. What are their last words? i think for shou it might be “i’m sorry”, but to what exactly, i’m not sure even he knows.
thank you for the tags!!! i’ll be tagging a few more new followers, and yall can either use the same questions / pick and choose what you want to answer! @lexaawrites @francestroublr @rebelwritingwild @ruthewriter

meet the writer meme
tagged by my angels @evanstar @bucky-at-bedtime and @noshitstark. thank you friends! i love you all
1. What book do you remember being most inspiring as a kid? For your writing or life in general?
i read a lot as a kid–there are tons of books in my room at home that i’ve never even touched or opened. i was always reading and inspired by writing, but the book i remember the most was probably The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. that kinda tore me to pieces and built me back up again, and because i went to catholic school, we read a lot of books that had a deeper meaning behind them. i read so much growing up that names and titles escape me, but i was always reading in high school and this one was probably my favorite.
2. If your wip got turned into a movie, would you want to play a role in it, if so a small or big one?
i have a LOT of WIPs so we gotta be specific. but honestly, when i’m writing, i kinda put myself into it, in the place of the reader insert, and it might be fun to be the star of my own project. all my other projects that i’ve worked on have been centered around other people, and tbh it would be nice to be in something for once. i try to incorporate things about myself into my work–personality, dedication, empathy, passion, or what have you–in little pieces, in different ways. but don’t we all? i’d love to be in my own heroine movie, but tbh i don’t think i have the face for it.
3. Do you cry at your own writing?
no, i don’t think so. i get gaggy and emotional but i don’t think i’ve ever cried.
4. How many notebooks do you have for your writing?
i have a lot–i would write out stories during class in high school and have an entirely separate notebook for stories i wrote and never finished. i love stationary and fresh notebooks and ugh. i have separate books for poetry and prose, but as i’ve gotten older, i just kinda write things down wherever i can. i use google docs now (a godsend) but i still love handwritten things. i’m a sucker for tangible things.
5. What is your favorite setting for writing? Do you have a special little nook?
my bed or my apartment in general. as long as i’m alone. i always feel like people are looking over my shoulder and i hate that and i usually write in my bed.
6. How do you feel about romance in novels that aren’t specifically about romance?
i love me some romance. i am a sucker for love but am awful at it in person (haha). i think that if the book itself is not about romance, that if the romance plot doesn’t take too much away from the actual storyline and plot itself, that it’s good. everyone likes some romance. but if it takes everything in a weird direction then lets not ok
7. Describe your writing in six words.
emotional, specific, wordy, passionate, warm, inspired (by real things)??
8. Do you share your writing with people in person (friends, family)?
hell nah. friends know that i write stuff, and i am always working on something whether its a novel or a book of poetry, but few people have seen my poetry and no one else sees what i write for here. i’m a lil shy and a lil embarrassed, and honestly i always have been. currently working on a screenplay/script of sorts and a book of my own poetry.
9. Where do you draw inspiration when writing?
lots of things. i can come up with a whole plot/story just from a sentence or prompt, just as i did with just you and me. i get inspiration from almost anything–words, phrases, actions in real life, people, places, things, anything really. i usually get inspired by a lot of feelings, things that i have been through or things i’ve read about. things i find interesting, things i want to play out and try. really, anything. lots of my friends on here, even.
10. Do you prefer to write in the morning or evening?
i do a bunch of my writing in the evening and i procrastinate so most of it gets done really late.
tagging my angels even though you are all probably tagged already @sweetboybucky @barnesrogersvstheworld @tropicalcap @buckyofthemyscira @shurisneakers

Yo, i was wondering if you knew anything relatively new that's long and promising, I've run out of long fics, thanks!
well, I haven’t had time to read a lot of longs fic recently, so I’m not sure about the quality of all of these, but they are all long and the plots look interesting. some of these are WIPs, I hope that’s okay (I’ll list the completed ones first tho). I’ll keep it above 20k!
complete
起死回生; To Live Again by mindheist - Fiction gives us a second chance that life denies us.
(AMAZING BEAUTIFUL PERFECT READ IT IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY)
(thought you knew) you were in this song by expplipo - Taehyung nearly chokes, but only nearly. Instead he raises an eyebrow and puts on the most suave smile he can manage. Hopes he looks far more collected than his for-some-reason racing heartbeat would let on, more suit-and-wine than elementary-schooler-with-a-new-crush. “You like me?” Jeongguk blushes, and looks at his feet. He’s smiling. “Of course.” “Really?” Taehyung says. “Like? Or like like?” (So much for suit-and-wine.)
(so so good, but also sad)
I Won’t Fall (in love with you) by taeharem - “You have to promise not to fall in love with me.”
(this was published in august but completed in december, so it’s kinda recent? it’s really good tho, so you should definitely read it if you haven’t already)
you and me, we’re bumper cars by syugaflake - “The more I try to get to you, the more we crash apart.” After a myriad of mistakes committed in his leather jacket with a cigarette between his teeth, Jungkook finds himself exiled to his aunt’s house in a quiet, faraway town for the summer. Nothing much goes on at the neighbourhood; or so he thinks, until he meets a boy with sunset-coloured hair named Kim Taehyung.
(again, this was published in the summer but completed in december. it was really good!)
Hiraeth by haruguk - Jeongguk has learned the hard way from the tender age of thirteen when his father pushed him down the stairs, that people are a disappointment. They always will be and so he breaks hearts instead. Hurt people hurt people. Jeongguk likes hurting girls, but he doesn’t like hurting Kim Taehyung.
Swamp Magic by GinForInk - Two witches lure Jungkook into their cabin in the woods.
(I haven’t read this, but admin guk has and she really liked it, it’s also by the author who wrote Hercules and I loved that so I trust that this would be good too)
This Is Heaven, Give It To Me by seikou - Taehyung just might have signed his soul to the devil.
I know a land called the land of the living by Pardon - Jeongguk thought hearing ghosts was way worse than people made it out to be. All their jokes were terrible.
Take It With A Swallow by seikou - Perverted minds do think alike. (or, alternatively: the fuckboys!au)
Shifting On My Feet by MarionetteFtHJM - With the ever-growing crime rate in the city there’s no telling what the leading figures will do to remain leading. The safety of the people is at risk and the possible collateral damage looms over the authorities. There is only one safe option, sacrifice a few to save the lives of many. Tear them from the inside, cool the situation down- should be easy enough, right? Jeongguk was just trying to live out his days peacefully, but running from one’s past never really worked out for anybody- so why would he be an exception? He’s not. Demons tend to find who they’re looking for in the end.
Fifty Shades of Happiness by Kookie_andCream - Taehyung’s plan is simple: fall in love with Jeon Jungkook and ace his final assignment. (Spoiler: it isn’t that simple.)
The Forest by Jeojahyungnim - Taehyung is a photographer in a college town nearby a forest nobody is allowed to enter. His life changes when he meets a boy in the woods known for being completely void of life.
Feel it Kicking in by rix - Jeongguk and Taehyung are just riding it out together, getting high on waves and drugs and each other—platonically, of course.
(I don’t read rix’s stuff since I’m not into bottom guk, but admin guk loves all of their stuff and a lot of people seem to love their stories, so I’m sure this is great!)
Mutual Fiend by kkumkkatcher - “I didn’t recognize you with your clothes on.” An AU where Jungkook needs to kill Taehyung, but Taehyung also needs to kill Jungkook, and things get (more than) a bit complicated.
make this feel like home by aeterisks - Taehyung has spent his whole life looking for excitement, but instead, he ends up finding Jeongguk; somehow, that seems to be even better.
hold me like i’m hope by jjks - “Uh,” he says eloquently, looking back at Taehyung. “Do you, like, want something?” “Nah, I’m just popping in,” Taehyung says, looking around the place again. Jeongguk stares at him in confusion. “Wh–” he starts to ask when he’s interrupted by Taehyung grinning at him. “Yeah, I’d like to schedule a time to get a tattoo.” “Of course he wants a fucking tattoo, dumbass, why do you think he’s here?” It’s Hoseok, and honestly that warrants another punch to the shoulder, but Jeongguk decides to play it nice. He’s a good boy. OR: let me present to you the most cliché trope of all, starring tattoo artist jeon jeongguk & florist kim taehyung.
Candy-Wrapper Blue by Kookie_andCream - On 15 January 2017, Taehyung runs over a little girl named Im Yoona with his car. (It was an accident.) On 16 January 2017, his guardian angel comes down to earth. (His name is Jungkook.) Slowly but surely, in a whirl of wings and golden tears, the sinful and the angelic learn to love each other. (And it is a beautiful disaster woven out of light and shadows in a world of men and angels.)
Soulmates or not (You’re mine, and I’m yours) by taedybear - Jeongguk meets Taehyung on the most frustrating day at work in the bubble tea shop, and the world around him swirls into colours and patterns at the sight of the beautiful boy.
Daddy’s Lil’ Monster by BloodLikeRoyalty - Jungkook, also known as The Joker, is a notorious mobster that ruled the city of Gotham, and when Kim Taehyung, a man as beautiful as he is crazy, joins him and remains by his side, they prove to be a devastating menace.
WIP (as of 1/28/17)
vampires will never hurt you by snowmoney - taehyung had already had a pretty weird day, so really, being cornered into an alley by a vampire on his way home from work was probably to be expected. - “but what if a vampire drank the blood of someone who was anemic would they be seriously grossed out” au
(this one is recent, chapters rn, 11k for just the first chapter, I like it so far)
Nyctophile by yururin - “Like I said, monsters aren’t real, Taehyung.” Jimin quickly pulled the closet doors open. At the bottom of the closet, sitting on the floor and leaning heavily against the walls, was a man with dark pink hair clad in dark clothes, bleeding and injured and looking positively close to death. Jimin didn’t know what to do.
We Make a Nice Pear by jeonnifer - Jeongguk tries to get the new transfer student expelled from the academy and fails. (Jeongguk tries not to fall for Kim Taehyung and fails even harder.)
Hustlers by tbz - Jungkook hadn’t meant to lose nine million. He certainly hadn’t meant to lose his kidney. And he hadn’t meant to meet Kim Taehyung.
i know you wanna go to heaven (but you’re human tonight) by moonlightae -Taehyung just thought it would be a one night stand, but he gets more than he bargained for
Kiss With a Fist by justanotherstarlessnight - “Need a little help, love?” Jungkook asks, teasing him. “Nah I had it all under control, sweetheart,” Taehyung answers with a smile, blood oozing from his split lip. Goddamn even smiling hurt now. Fuckity fuck fuck. Jungkook only rolls his eyes, his cocky smirk never slipping and Taehyung almost forgets how much pain he’s in. prompt-Can you please write the “ kick his ass for me” prompt with taekook!
Assassin’s Order by TaeSyubDKook - CEO Taehyung gets tangled up in some illegal business without even knowing and when Assasin Jeongguk gets assigned to extract information from him after being caught, he realizes in what mess he’s gotten himself into and agrees to cooperate with the assassins, after learning their true reasons, to bring down his uncle’s company. What Jeongguk and Taehyung didn’t expect was falling for each other in the progress.
pulling shapes just for your eyes by aeterisks - The number one rule when you’re a producer on a show like Miss Right, Taehyung thinks, should be do not fall for the bachelor. It’s such a shame Taehyung has never been good at following rules.
I’m only human (after all) by Lalaithwen - Taehyung always thought, writing your own destiny was way better anyways.
Hold Me Through the Winter by KrellaTu - When Taehyung sets off for what should have been a boring lab expedition with Jungkook, his mage academy’s resident genius and total heartthrob, and Wonwoo, his devoted best friend, his life changes forever. Beneath Taehyung’s goofy antics is a dangerous past and an unbearable loneliness. Within his fragile heart is a secret power. The universe has more planned for him than he would hope. Can Taehyung and Jungkook’s relationship withstand the hardships to come?
These Grey Walls (Can’t keep me from you) by Gracetheorc - They aren’t allowed to love each other. Jungkook’s never liked following the rules.Trapped within the confines of an institution where even talking to someone else is prohibited, Jungkook and Taehyung just can’t stay away from each other anymore. No matter how much trouble it causes.
