Watching Oh My General and I recognized some wordplay I'd seen in Fourteenth Year of Chenghua. In FYC Tang Fan corrects Sui Zhou being called an outsider (外人 wàirén, lit: outside person) by calling him a word that commonly means wife (内人 nèirén, lit: inside person) and Sui Zhou complains until Tang Fan calls him husband instead.
In Oh My General Yujin is upset that Ye Zhao has her military advisor Huli write her divorce paper, because Yujin thinks of him as an outsider (wàirén). When Ye Zhao says Huli isn't a wàirén, Yujin sarcastically asks if then she thinks of Huli as her nèirén instead. It's a really clever line that expresses both Yujin's jealousy that leads him to see Huli as a rival, and his insecurity that Ye Zhao would see her spouse (it's Yujin, Yujin is actually her spouse!) as a wife rather than a husband.
Also it's funny that Yujin is getting jealous when Huli is only writing the divorce document because Yujin wants to get divorced.
#eddie's posts#Oh My General#feel free to offer corrections if you know Chinese and see errors here#my only Chinese exposure is media#I very much could be over reading the significance of nèirén but it felt like it added to the gender happening here even if it's subtle

Chinese LOTM Fic Recs
(@ihavenobigbrain)
I was asked about this, so here we go! (rubs hands together =D)
A few things to know:
I'll only separate by site (either AO3 or Lofter) and whether it's gen or has a ship. None of these recs have smut as far as I remember, as I rarely if ever read it.
I am not Chinese and know nothing about the Chinese language. I've read these fics through the browser translator. Likely there are errors in the translated English titles provided, please feel free to correct them.
For Lofter fics, I'm using the blog url (x in "x.lofter.com") as the writer's name, though idk if that's how it should be done.
Also for Lofter fics, I've linked the first chapter for multi-chapter stories. The rest can be found by going to the user's archive, or (with a bit more difficulty) by clicking on one of the tags at the bottom and going through that.
Recs under the cut because this became a longer post than I expected. Hope you find something to enjoy from this!
Gen Fics:
->AO3
DEITY MAY CRY, by buerzi: The story of an atheist who becomes a believer of the Fool. (post-Book 1, one of my favourite fics)
【克中心】愚者教会调查实录 / [Ke Center] Investigative Records of the Church of the Fool, by liusheng_A: The state of the Church of the Fool, two hundred years after the apocalypse.
Sing come twilight, by Mirrir_Error: Melissa has a conversation with a mysterious lady and learns the truth about her brother. (post-Book 1)
Fifteen Minutes, by ianto0706: Fors accidentally summons Gehrman's historical projection. (post-Book 1)
在葬礼上 / At the funeral, by Mirrir_Error: During Benson's funeral, Melissa meets a familiar stranger.
【破繭組】為美好的真神獻上祝福 / [Broken Cocoon Group] Offer blessings to the beautiful true god, by Zye_404: The four transmigrators meet up in the Astral Realm and decide to descend to the real world. Klein helps Roselle meet his children, Amanises goes shopping and ASG hunts down Amon.
【诡秘】欢迎加入地球OL保障队 / [Secret] Welcome to the Earth OL Support Team, by abigail_000017: Klein Moretti introduces you to the Earth OL Support Team, the first and last line of defence for Earth, and its various members. Do keep track of what you should and shouldn't do. (alternate universe)
但它不断冒出 / but it keeps popping up, by undertoneaugust: (author's summary) "After being woken up by his little niece for the thousand and eighty-sixth time, Klein Moretti finally agreed to play with her."
隐瞒之事 / concealment, by undertoneaugust: Bernadette in the present, seeking her father, and the past she remembers.
【诡秘】我有一个朋友 / [Secret] I have a friend, by Kuffskein: I suggested going on a walk to Deacon Leonard Mitchell, and so we visited Tingen. (first-person perspective, post-Book 1)
修罗会 / Shura Society*, by ominoushunter: When Klein resurrects from his grave, Azik is there. This leads to several things, but mainly the Tarot Club's utter confusion on the shape of the love polygon between Mr. Death, his many students, Mr. World and Mr. Star. (all ships present are mainly in the minds of the Tarot Club :p)
(*according to this post, "Shura Field" is a phrase used to refer to an intense struggle on a battlefield but also for shows where multiple characters are in love with the same person)
->Lofter
【廷根师生组】新生-随机爆炸鱼干 / [Tingen Students and Teachers Group] Freshmen, by linyuansuyuan: (author's summary) "Klein has three homes in Tingen, for which he needs to pay a low rent every month, a few carefully completed homework and several times of unburdened laughter." (pre-canon, warning for Canonical Character Death, slight hint of Azik/Klein but only as a student's crush) (this is the fic that shaped OG Klein for me, and made me fall in love with the pre-canon possibilities)
[海上组]冰山浮出一角 / [Sea Group] The tip of the iceberg emerges, by wangyouwushang86832: After the journey in Groselle's Travels, Gehrman loses his memory, only retaining the beginning of his time in Tingen. Danitz, Anderson and the rest of the Golden Dream get to see another side of the crazy adventurer. (incomplete, ongoing)
【诡秘之主观影体】我于神明 / [The Lord of Mysteries] I am in the gods, by xiayanzhangxiangyi: Tianzun tries to use the transmigrators to take away Klein's anchors. In order not to lose, Klein is forced to reveal the truth of his life to several people close to him, as well as the transmigrators. (post-Book 1, viewing fic)
【观影体】如果神弃之地的 "游戏" 被围观 / [Movie Watching Body] If the "game" of the Forsaken Land of the Gods is watched, by muleyi62440: While Klein is in the Forsaken Land with Amon, the Tarot Club pray to him. But rather than not getting a response, they are pulled into the gray fog and get to watch the struggles he's going through. (viewing fic)
【唤醒沉睡愚者24h/8:30】天幕之下 / [Wake up the Sleeping Fool 24h/8:30] Under the Canopy, by rizerxx: In the year 1366, the Fool wakes up.
1-【论坛体】论坛新更新的游戏,有人玩了吗?/ 1- [Forum body] Has anyone played the newly updated game in the forum?, by mlikebc: Forum story (ie, it takes place in some kind of online forum). The Church of the Fools has released a gacha dress-up game called Miracle Meimei, about a person waking up without memories and rediscovering the past. As people play it, they too discover the truth about the angels of the Fool and the people connected to them... (post-Book 1, incomplete, ongoing, mentions of stuff from COI, currently a 21-part story)
Leonard/Klein:
->AO3
【克中心】我可能是假的天使 / [Ke Center] I might be a fake angel, by BB_Roin: Canon divergence- if the Evernight Goddess couldn't separate the curtain from Zhou during the transmigration. The focus isn't on the ship and it's pretty slowburn Leoklein. (incomplete, ongoing)
World/Fool:
->AO3
世愚|倒计时十五分 / World Yu | 15 minute countdown, by suqiansheng: After the betrayal in Utopia, Klein goes to the Historical Void before the First Epoch and summons Gehrman's historical projection. A much-needed moment is had. (note: not romantic in any way imo but it's tagged World/Fool so I'm reccing it here)
世愚|小团圆 / World Yu | A little reunion, by suqiansheng: Klein and Gehrman are separated brothers, having a reunion dinner... (Major Character Death of sorts? Also, same note as above, ie has no romantic elements)
【愚世】最优解 / [Foolishness] The best solution, by Indigo10: Post-Book 1, Klein crafts a marionette Gehrman and instills him with the humanity Adam once gave him. (Major Character Death, same note as above :p)
世愚|数到三 / Shi Yu | Count to three, by suqiansheng: Post-Book 1, the avatar of Gehrman Sparrow makes a suggestion to Klein. He is not the first Gehrman Sparrow to do so. (sorta Major Character Death)
世愚 | 雨夜乌托邦 / Shi Yu | Rainy Night Utopia, by suqiansheng: The Fool Klein shares a meal with his Blessed in Utopia. (AU where Klein's identities are separate people)
访谈录【愚世】 / Interview Record [Foolish World], by Fei Yu: Gehrman Sparrow, a heretic, has been captured and awaits execution. Before that, a reporter seeks him out for an interview about his life.
【世愚】妄念 / [Shi Yu] Delusion, by youlancangqiong: The Fool likes equivalent exchange, and asks Gehrman for his wish. (AU where these two are separate people, sorta Major Character Death?)
世愚|值得 / [Shi Yu] Worthy, by suqiansheng: Before the apocalypse, Klein and Gehrman share a peaceful moment.
Azik/Klein:
->AO3
关于我那个总是陷入危险而不自知的同行 / About my colleague who's always in danger without knowing it, by ominoushunter: Canon divergence where Klein doesn't join the Nighthawks and instead becomes a history lecturer, but is still a Beyonder. Cue a comedy of misunderstandings between Klein and Azik, and their secret identities of "the World" and "the Death Consul".
【诡秘】死神即将回归……吗? [Secret] Reaper is about to return...?, by Kuffskein: Suarez, a descendant of the Eggers family, reports to Salinger about the changes in the present era. It's enough to make even enemies feel pity.
【诡秘】愚者教会内部论坛 / [Secret] Church of the Fool Internal Forum, by Kuffskein: Forum story. While discussing the past of the Angel of Death, people uncover a strange relationship between the Angel, Gehrman Sparrow, the Fool and an ordinary person named Klein.
苍白 / Pale, by ominoushunter: Rather than continuing his life as it is, Azik chooses to complete his soul in the mausoleum, and what follows from that.
【诡秘】谁才是执政官大人的真爱?/ [Secret] Who is the true love of the Consul?, by Kuffskein: For a festival of Bayam, tradition is that the Death Consul must travel the capital in a coffin alongside his partner. This would be all fine and good, if the high priest of Balam didn't have to decide who to invite between the Death Consul's six lovers.
->Lofter
【兹克24H:他的猫与锚-19:00】降灵之舞 / 【Zik 24H: His Cat and the Anchor-19:00】Spiritual Dance, by xiayanzhangxiangyi: After Azik wakes up, he goes to Bayam to introduce himself as the Angel of Death and learn more about the Church his student established.
【兹克520活动||17:20】艾格斯教授是gay还是邪教徒 / [Zik 520 Event||17:20] Is Professor Eggers gay or a cultist, by mosquitoyeah: During an expedition, a pair of brothers wonder about their guide Azik Eggers, and place a bet on whether he's a cultist or gay. (post-Book 1, two-part story)
Dunn/Daly:
->AO3
【索斯特➡戴莉】直至最后一朵玫瑰凋谢之时 / [Soest->Daly] Until the last rose fades, by GetSomeFries (NachtElf): Soest falls in love with Daly, but she keeps rebuffing him and he wonders why. (the arrow denotes one-sided feelings iirc)
邓恩史密斯查了五次水表 / Dunn Smith checked the water meter five times, by 6749: set within In Modern Day. This is the fifth time Dunn has visited Daly's house, citing reports that she's performing suspicious religious activities.
Amanises/Klein:
->AO3
今天世界不对劲 / Something is wrong with the World today, by Mirrir_Error: (author's summary) "Today is a special day, "—" wants to play an interesting game with the Fool."
Sharron/Maric:
->AO3
【沙琪玛】莎伦小姐心直口快 / [Sharron/Maric] Miss Sharron is outspoken, by huangnanjun: The story of how Sharron and Maric met, and how they escaped from the Rose School of Thought.
That's all from me for now!
For those who've read this far, I leave you with a wonderful Reddit post about how to browse for LOTM fics on Lofter.

So you’re done with The Untamed and want more, what now?
Reposting this since I’ve updated it with new info/links. Again, I entered the fandom via The Untamed so I’m by no means a MDZS expert, just tried my best gathering all the resources I can which I hope will help some new Untamed/MDZS fan out there. If you spot any errors, don’t yell at me, just let me know and I’ll correct it as best I can, especially for any future reposts.
READ THE NOVEL
Read the original web novel the show was based on: The Untamed (aka “CQL” or “Chen Qing Ling”) was adapted from the BL web novel, Mo Dao Zu Shi (aka ”MDZS” or Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation) by author Mo Xiang Tong Xiu (”MXTX”). Yes the novel came first, CQL is only an adaptation. In the novel, you get the uncensored romance of Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, where they are canonically married and living happily ever after. The novel goes full into R18 territory so please tread carefully.
All four volumes of the novel can be purchased from the original publishing site, JJWXC. The site’s in chinese but here’s a tutorial on how to navigate it and purchase the books: JJWXC Tutorial Link.
There’s also the option of purchasing the physical copies from Yesasia which might be easier but it’s also more expensive since they’re the middle man: Yesasia MDZS Link
It would be wonderful if you can support MXTX-laoshi by actually buying the books, especially since the cover art is so beautiful and the extra chapter volumes come with a lot of awesome extra goodies, but of course there’s also the option of reading the fan translations graciously provided by the Exiled Rebels Scanlations team at their site:
They translated all the novels including the bonus chapters in their own free time and are providing the fanslations for free so please give them some love for all their hard work.
WATCH THE ANIME (aka “Donghua” in Chinese)
Watch the anime based on the novel: The donghua was released before The Untamed. Two seasons are already available (23 eps total) with a third season in production and a special chibi version of the donghua in production as well. The Eng-subbed donghua can be seen using the WeTV app or on Youtube: YT MDZS Donghua Playlist
Grant it, the donghua is even more censored than The Untamed, but the donghua team still managed to sneak in some easter eggs (f.e. WangXian naked bathing scene in the cold springs from the novel...in The Untamed they were fully clothed) and more importantly, the animation is just gorgeous so it’s absolutely worth a watch despite the censorship.
READ THE MANGA (aka “Manhua” in Chinese)
Read the manhua which is ongoing and is being officially translated by WeComics, available on their app for free. Search under the name “Mo Dao Zu Shi”.
Unfortunately, the official translations are more than 20 chaps behind the raws and there have been complaints about the quality of the translations in the past, but I believe they’re starting to improve so since they’re official, it’s always better to support the official source.
The raw untranslated manhua can be found on the Kuaikanmanhua app. Other than being in Chinese, some of the chapters (f.e. the most recent ones) are behind a paywall, but here’s a tutorial on how to purchase the chapters, provided by @chiharuzushi on Twitter: Kuaikanmanhua Tutorial
The chapters are quite cheap...I purchase 1000 KK coins for 10 rmb ($0.14) and each chapter is only 68 KK coins so even if we end up with 500 chapters it’ll still be...er...quite cheap overall (don’t make me do the actual math). The most painful part is figuring out how to set up the Kuaikanmanhua account, but otherwise, if you can read Chinese or know enough of the story by now that you don’t really need to read the words, the manhua is definitely worth reading because it’s less censored than The Untamed and the donghua.
LISTEN TO THE AUDIO DRAMA
Listen to the audio drama, which is at this point the most faithful and LEAST censored adaptation of the novel we will probably ever get! Wei Ying’s voice actor in The Untamed is the voice actor for his audio drama counterpart. (Yes, almost everyone in The Untamed is dubbed by a voice actor, EXCEPT for Nie Huaisang. Ji Li, the actor for NHS, was the only one who used his own voice. Lan Zhan in The Untamed shares the same voice actor as his character in the donghua).
Each episode art of the audio drama is AMAZING. Google Translate works well on the site, you’d want to see the listeners’ comments cuz they’re just adorable and hilarious.
Official links on Maoer FM:
Season 1: Maoer FM S1 Link
Season 2: Maoer FM S2 Link
Season 3: Maoer FM S3 Link
The audio drama was supervised by MXTX-laoshi, the author of the novel, so a lot of love and care went into the production, and it shows. The audio drama is behind a paywall but I remember it’s relatively inexpensive. Here’s the tutorial on how to purchase the audio drama from the Maoer FM site: Maoer FM Tutorial Link
Ngl, it was tough at first navigating all that, Google translate helped, but once I figured it out, it was all so worth it because in addition to the MDZS, the site houses a lot of other wonderful audio dramas. There are also MDZS fan songs on the site that are near professional quality and oh so good.
Suibian Subs have kindly translated the episodes and their translations are available here: Suibian Subs MDZS Audio Drama
Show them some love too for translating the episodes, but please if you can, purchase the episodes so you can support the audio drama team which have done an amazing job.
There’s even a Japanese audio drama which the Chinese AD team helped spearhead, available on the MIMI FM app. Here’s a tutorial on how to purchase the eps (half of the first season is out): MIMI FM Tutorial
It’s in Japanese but just follow the pictures. I’m hoping that the Japanese audio drama will end up being the MOST uncensored version of MDZS since Japanese BL dramas are not afraid (and allowed) to go all the way to R18. XD
MORE THE UNTAMED CONTENT
Lastly, if you’re just thirsting for more Untamed content, there are two spin-off movies you can watch. The first one, The Living Dead, is kind of centered on Wen Ning and Sizhui post-CQL.
The second one, Fatal Journey, is focused on the Nie brothers, Nie Mingjue and Nie Huaisang, with a cameo by Jin Guangyao. It takes place prior to Wei Ying’s return from the dead.
Of the two movies, I definitely recommend Fatal Journey more. Both movies are available on the iQiyi app, which offers a one month free trial for first members. Each month afterwards for VIP is $6.99.
You can also go on the WeTV app for even more Untamed extras: WeTV put out a special edition cut of the show which tightened up the story AND features the original ending that was intended before censorship forced the production team to come up with the more ambiguous one we saw in its original run. It was a simple matter of rearranging certain scenes and getting rid of the separation part, but imho it really made all the difference to the ending.
There’s a ton of behind-the-scene cuteness that you can watch and also concerts with the cast in Thailand and Nanjing. VIP subscription to the WeTV app is $5.99/month and the Nanjing concert is for rent for 3 months at about the same price.
The show also put out two official soundtracks, one for the vocals and one for the score. Both are available on Amazon and iTunes. For Amazon though, you can search under “The Untamed” but they did this weird thing where the vocals one is listed as “The Untamed (Chinoiserie Music Album)” (wtf) while the score is just listed as “The Untamed (Original Soundtrack)”.
Finally, most of the male members of the cast took part in a fan meet and greet at the start of the show, before it became hugely popular. The entire meet and greet is available on youtube subbed: The Untamed Fan Meeting
That’s it for The Untamed and MDZS. If you end up liking the novel enough to want to read more by the same author, MXTX-laoshi has also written two other BL novels, The Scum Villain Self-Saving System (aka “SVSSS” or “Scum Villain”) and Heaven’s Official Blessing (aka “TGCF” after its Chinese title). Both have been fully translated by fans (but always try to buy the original if you have the means, as a way to support the author!):
SVSSS Translation: BC Novels Link
TGCF Translation chaps 1 - 24: Sakhyulations Link
TGCF Translation chaps 25 - End: Suika & Rynn Link
As with reading any BL novel (aka “danmei novel” for Chinese BL books), please heed the warnings and if it’s not your cup of tea, just exit out of the page and move on with your life. No big deal, right?
Anyway, hope all this info dump helps someone! If you’re brand spanking new to this fandom, welcome, and I’m so jealous of you! Would love to relive stepping into the world of MDZS/MXTX/danmei novels all over again since I feel like I’m already running out of stuff to read and I’m beginning to panic a little.
Happy watching/reading/listening!

Why tumblr user donottearmedown/luciequeenofelfame/luciehvrondaie is an embarrassment: a Masterpost
Hi if you’re here it’s because you’ve heard that tumblr user donottearmedown is an embarrassment and you’d like to know all the details! Let me break it down. It all started with this post by @minacarstairs (Tessa (yes @minacarstairs’s name is Tessa sorry if that makes this post confusing)), in which donottearmedown originally reached out to Tessa by sending her something along the lines of “Do you ship heronstairs/herongraystairs?” And Tessa replied with something along the lines of “Yeah lmao herongraystairs rights!”
(I wanna note that Tessa was being very polite, and continues to be very polite to people who disagree with her opinions on heronstairs/herongraystairs. She even began her original conversation with dont tear me down by saying it’s a matter of personal interpretation :) it’s donottearmedown who made the conversation mean-spirited)
(Also Tessa pls correct next if I’m wrong on any of this thnx)
And then sometime later, the conversation above ensues in which donottearmedown, seemingly perfectly reasonable at first, disagrees with the ship and offers a link to look at. (She throws this link around any chance she gets. She really fucking loves this link.) I got involved because in her answer, Tessa replies back with a link from a post I made from my own blog starting back in 2018, and then continued to add to it until my account got terminated (long story). You can read through both posts and check out all the replies! But basically we realized during this interaction that donottearmedown wasn’t looking to have a friendly conversation and was, in fact, batshit crazy. They were saying some absolute brain dead shit like that people shipping heronstairs is the same as people shipping Alec x Clary. Here’s the screenshot:
donottearmedown came back the next day to reply on several of Tessa and mine’s post which she wasn’t even tagged in, such as this one, and this one that had absolutely nothing to do with her because I make that same post every year. Here’s a screenshot from my old account last year via Instagram:
(there are more posts she replied to but I can’t be bothered to look for them, I’m sure you can find them on their blog if you can spare the braincells)
Racism by donottearmedown:
So, Tessa received this anon which tipped us off to some of the other tomfoolery on donottearmedown’s blog. We decided to look for ourselves and lo and behold, here’s the post of donottearmedown accusing Cassandra Clare of having a “Chinese kink” for writing Jessa:
Which, first of all, makes no sense because there’s like 2 Chinese characters in TSC total. If anything CC has a straight white boy kink lmao. But by saying this she was basically implying that the ONLY way Tessa (book!Tessa), or anybody who loves Jem, can love him is if they have a “Chinese kink”. Which donottearmedown can’t seem to be able to understand is an incredibly racist thing to say and think.
They also reblogged this BLM link and proceeded to tag it with absolute nonsense like “#smoke weed #lose weight #wessa”. I don’t know if her intentions were to mock the BLM movement but I still found this to be so incredibly disrespectful and tone deaf.
I also feel like I should mention this ask sent to Tessa in which donottearmedown implies she ~could be~ Asian, but it’s “none of her business anyways” (as if being Asian would absolve anyone of being racist akjsksjsj), but based on the fact that she has a track record of lying and pretending to be a person she’s not (as you will soon see :)) I call bullshit lmao:
I think that was the last of our interactions until today? Tessa and I were distracted because we have, you know, real lives.
But anyway, that brings us to today.
donottearmedown started replying to posts from mine and Tessa’s blogs which she wasn’t tagged in, again, and made several days ago. This one literally wasn’t even about her, it was about someone else that had engaged with one of Tessa’s posts. I made that post over a week ago and had already forgotten about it, but clearly donottearmedown never stops thinking about us 😳
NOW I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THIS POST SPECIFICALLY.
Why? Because donottearmedown and luciequeenofelfame (now luciehervndaie) interacted on this post, as 2 seperate entities. luciequeenofelfame had also interacted with Tessa and I’s original posts at the beginning of June (you can check the replies on the posts!) coming to donottearmedown’s defense, and praising her for her opinions and other shit like that.
Here’s the screenshot. As you can see here, luciehervndaie reblogs from donottearmedown and adds on to their opinion:
Now here’s the kicker: donottearmedown and luciehervndaie are the same person.
As in, this bitch literally made up a second blog so that she can pretend to be someone else agreeing with her own opinions and cheering herself on.
Here’s the proof:
I made this post calling out donottearmedown on their racism. I didn’t bother tagging her in the original post because I knew she was stalking my blog and would see it eventually anyway. 😌 And they took the bait, as you can see.
AND THEN I got the notification that luciequeenofelfame had replied to my post. Here’s the reply:
Now here’s where donottearmedown/luciequeenofelfame made an oopsie! 😳
Notice where luciequeenofelfame says “1. I didn’t delete it lmao”. She’s responding to my tags on this post where I’m calling out donottearmedown on her racist post, and my tags read:
“#the fact you went and deleted this post because you KNEW you were about to get slammed #comedy”
(context: @wilhelminacarstairs looked on donottearmedown’s blog recently looking for the post I screenshotted in the link above, and he couldn’t find it so I assumed she deleted it so that I wouldn’t call her out on it. Although she claims she didn’t delete it, so! Maybe it’s still up! Feel free to look for it and let me know lmao)
Now, in the tags I am obviously talking to donottearmedown, correct? So then why is luciequeenofelfame replying that she didn’t delete anything? 🤔 AND JUST AS IM ABOUT TO REPLY-
Wow, looks like I can’t reblog the post. Why? Because luciequeenofelfame has deleted it, and then IMMEDITALY changed her url to luciehvrondaie, hoping it would cover her tracks. Little does she know, tumblr notifications are forever:
As you can see, donottearmedown/luciequeenofelfame/luciehervndaie realized they made an oopsie, so she deleted her first response and posted it again from the blog she actually MEANT to post it from. Damn if only she knew that @minacarstairs @wilhelminacarstairs and I keep screenshots of e v e r y t h i n g :/ Then she might have gotten away with it! 😩
But yeah lmao here are the posts I made about it immeditaly afterwards calling her out on it because I thought it was funny: X X X X
She defends herself on some of them saying shit like “wow so I’m just making up blogs for support wessa? The majority of the fandom supports Wessa so I’m all of those blogs according to you? I’m thousands of people?!” Or just trying to change the topic back to heronstairs and ignoring the allegations altogether. Like, no luv we’re not saying you’re every single Wessa blog ever. We’re just saying you’re these 2, and we’re right lmao. If you look through both their blogs they also post about the same fandoms, and more damning, make a lot of the same spelling errors. Seriously their speech pattern is exactly the same. Feel free to look through them if you want, and if they don’t start mass-deleting post trying to cover their tracks.
BONUS:
I don’t know how true this is, but according to @fair-but-wilde-child on this ask, donottearmedown is ALSO the infamous twitter stan that complained to CC about TLH having too many gay characters.
EXTRA BONUS:
luciequeenofelfame/luciehvrondaie (donottearmedown’s second account 😌) is the account responsible for that wessa vs jessa comparison chart that went around a while ago LMAOOOOOOOO embarrassing
tl;dr: donottearmedown/luciequeenofelfame/luciehvrondaie is a biphobic racist who’s opinions are so bad she has to make a second account to agree with herself
🥺 tragic
Also I wanna say for the record, as @minacarstairs ans @wilhelminacarstairs will testify, I guessed a while ago these accounts were the same person when I noticed their speech patterns were eerily similar, and how luciequeenofelfame always seemed to reply to donottearmedown’s posts IMMEDITATELY after they were posted.
So the lesson for today? Cinthia is always right. 😤
#WHEW this took a while but here u go#feel free to scroll back through my blog and see the posts#also ive tagged almost everything from these interactions with her url#donottearmedown#replies#bidrewtanaka#long post

Are you asian? Since you know Japanese? And are learning it or you know it? And can I know how can I learn it?
Nope, I’m not Asian. I’ve been learning Japanese on again off again for a while with no real results cause I honestly didn’t know what I was doing and I just wasn’t studying regularly and consistently enough, but 2020 gave me a lot of free time so I basically haven’t been doing anything else since...
As for how you can learn it: there are a lot of different approaches and it really depends on what works for you/what’s accessible to you, which is something you have to figure out yourself by trial and error. A lot of people need a classroom setting and I know that people learn Japanese really fast if they go to a Japanese language school in Japan, which I’ve considered doing too but you know... not really an option right now.
Self-studying is totally doable too, though, you just need a good system and a bit of self-discipline. There are a lot of great textbooks, apps, etc. out there and a lot of YouTube videos that can recommend ways to learn the language, but at the end of the day, you really have to try it out yourself to see whether you like it or not.
There are a lot of aspects and ways to learn the language so I’m gonna put the details and lots of resources (with links!) under the cut:
The most important tip that I can give for self-studying is that having a study schedule is essential. Before I had a study schedule, it was really difficult to stay on track and make progress, whereas a schedule helps you know what to do and how much studying you’ve been doing. The more you study, the better, of course, but 5 minutes a day is better than not studying at all! And your schedule doesn’t need to be perfect - if you feel like it doesn’t work or are otherwise unhappy with it, change it up!
The best thing to do before you start is to just go on YouTube and spend a day or so watching as many videos about how to self-study Japanese as possible to get as many different ideas for yourself. For example, I really like this video, and there are many more like this if you just search something like “How to self study Japanese” - google also really helps and can give you sites like this one or this one that give you a good guideline for how to study on your own.
Also having a variety is really important. Learning a language consists of so many aspects (reading, writing, listening, speaking) that all need to be trained, so incorporating all of them into your schedule is important (don’t worry though, you don’t need to do all of that on day one already, just gradually include these things over time).
Generally, the first thing you want to do for learning Japanese is to learn the writing systems! There are three writing systems: Hiragana (anything can be written in Hiragana, but it’s overall used for native Japanese words/grammar), Katakana (used for loan words (foreign words) or for emphasis), and Kanji (Chinese characters). Kanji take the longest and you can learn those on the side as you learn the rest of the language, but you should learn Hiragana and Katakana first (this only takes a couple of days and you get used to them more and more over time). There are many websites and also apps that can teach you Hiragana and Katakana for free! I know everyone gets a bit scared by Kanji at first, but trust me - they make things so much easier!
If you want a textbook, many people recommend either the Genki or Minna no nihongo textbooks, but I personally used the Japanese from Zero series because it has the textbook, workbook, and answer key all in one. I also heard that Genki is more commonly used in classroom settings and is better when taught by a teacher, and the Minna no nihongo books are in Japanese (you can buy a separate translated version I think, but who wants that?) so the Japanese from Zero series felt the easiest to use. The series has its pros and cons, but it overall worked for me. However, I’ve stopped using textbooks altogether because I’ve found that I’m just as able to just use the internet (and save money that way!). Japanese can be divided into 5 proficiency levels (JLPT N5 to N1, with N5 being the most basic and N1 being the most advanced) and many self-studiers use those levels as a guide to what to study. This website has a good overview and I use it as the main resource to know which grammar points to study next.
For vocab I use AnkiDroid, which is a flashcard app that uses the SRS (Space Repetition System) - which gradually spaces out how often you study a word. You can download flashcard decks on here directly to the app so you don’t need to make your own cards or think about which words to study.
For Kanji I use the app KanjiStudy and I really love it. The full version only costs around 8 € and it comes with a lot of great features and really lets you customize the app. You can create your own sets, practice writing, do multiple choice quizzes, and do flashcard studying. It also has a built-in dictionary and example sentences, so it’s super helpful! The writing aspect is the important part here because writing the Kanji over and over again helps reinforce them and without the app, I would’ve used so much paper by now (I bought a smartphone pen to make it easier to write them on my phone)!
I also have the app Jsho and use the website jisho.org as a dictionary. Google translate, while not reliable, is really helpful because you can use the camera feature to either upload images or scan something with your camera and let google translate it for you! I use that for when I play games on my phone in Japanese and can’t read the Kanji/don’t know the words!
Tae Kim’s Guide to Learning Japanese is an app with really great grammar explanations!
Apps like HiNative or HelloTalk are super important, too, because they let you talk to native speakers! HiNative is mainly for asking language-related questions and have native speakers answer you, whereas HelloTalk is basically like a social media app but with the intent to learn a language. You just say what your native language is and which language you’re learning and then you can chat with people who are natives in the language you’re learning who want to learn your native language. You can also make posts there and have native people correct you, etc.
Installing a Japanese keyboard on your phone and computer is also really important, so here’s a guide on how to install that.
For reading, I recommend you start with bilingual books as they are aimed at beginners and come with vocab and grammar explanations. I really like the Japanese Reader Collection by Clay & Yumi Boutwell. Also, Satori Reader (available as a website and app) offers lots of stories that also all come with an audio version! The stories all let you click the words and explain you the vocab and grammar, as well as let you add vocab to your studylist (which is basically like flashcards).
Listening to Japanese music or podcasts is also really great to get used to the spoken language and are more fun ways to train your listening skills. On the less fun, but still important side, I also use this website for listening exercises.
You probably have already heard of Duolingo. While I wouldn’t recommend using websites/apps like Duolingo as your main source to learn the language, it’s a good tool to use on the site to review what you’ve already learned and reinforce your knowledge.
Here are some of my favorite YouTube Channels by native speakers who teach Japanese (either in English or Japanese, but with subtitles): Japanese Ammo with Misa (definitely my favorite, she makes A LOT of really long, detailed videos and has a huge variety), Japanese Language School - Coto Academy, Japanese with Yuka 101 (makes really long lessons in Japanese without subtitles - really helpful for immersion), Masa Sensei, Miku Real Japanese, Onomappu. Those channels really help not just to learn grammar, but also to listen to native speakers talk. Most of them have videos about grammar, cultural points, etc. and also have listening exercises - all for free!
Another thing that helps immersion wise is to have a TikTok specifically for Japanese. I basically just made an account and looked up some Japanese videos and then liked any Japanese video I could find to make my For You page full of Japanese videos! Since lots of people put subtitles on their TikToks, it’s a bit easier to follow and the short videos make it easy to just watch them several times and try to pick up more and more each time.
Okay, so this might have been really overwhelming, but basically, there are many ways to learn Japanese and surround yourself with the language in a fun and helpful way! You don’t need to use all these options, or don’t need to use them all at once, but this is just to give you some ideas on what I use.
The best way is to find a starting point. Textbooks are really helpful in that aspect because they just give you a layout and you don’t need to coordinate all of that yourself, but there are also a lot of free/cheap ways by just using the internet.
Try and spend a day watching YouTube videos and reading posts online about how to get started and just choose whichever method you like best. You can always switch if it ends up not working for you.
The main rule is really to just create a routine and stick with it, and then adjust it along the way. The more time you dedicate to learning, the better and faster you can improve. Don’t beat yourself up if you ever have a day where you can’t study a lot, but try to at least dedicate five minutes every day. If you can, studying for one hour or more every day is going to be the best way to make progress!
To give you a general idea, here is my current schedule:
*not included are things like listening practices, reading, immersion. I try to do those daily, but they aren’t officially part of my schedule.
Basically, I learn new stuff Mondays - Fridays and use the weekends to review what I’ve learned.
This was very long and might have been really overwhelming (sorry), but I just wanted to include what has helped me. If you have any other questions let me know and I’ll try to help out. Other than that, just start and enjoy the ride!
頑張って!

31 Stages Everyone Goes Through When They Want To Learn How To Drive
Firstly, I want to say congratulations for being on this page! You have already taken the first step toward learning how to drive and what the stages of getting a New York State driver’s license are. Here you will find your one-stop guide to everything you need to know in order to drive in Brooklyn, New York. By following these steps accordingly, you are guaranteeing yourself of getting the correct information, knowledge and skills needed to be a safe driver.
As of 2016, New York is the 4th state with the most number of licensed drivers, at just under 12 million! However, almost 50,000 people have been involved in fatal car crashes in the U.S annually. That means it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure the constant safety of themselves those around them.
So… without further ado…
Step 1: What’s the importance of a license in the US?
This may come as a surprise, but in the US, your driver’s license is arguably the most important document you could have in your wallet! Why is that? For various reasons, including…
a.Identifies you as a licensed driver
b.Serves as your primary form of identification
c.Can be used as your travel I.D for national flights
d.For certain jobs (like New York Police Department), you are required to have a driver’s license
e.If you lose your wallet, your license is the easiest way for someone to determine your contact information
f.Last but not least… it states whether you are an organ donor! Let’s hope this will never be needed for you… but in the case of a fatal crash, your driver’s license helps emergency personnel determine if you are an organ donor or not.
Phew! Now we know just how beneficial a driver’s license is for someone living in the US. To summarize, if you want to be a functioning member of society, you better have a driver’s license! But what does it take to get one? (If you are under the age of 18, please skip to step 3)
Step 2: Will I need a license? What things are required to get a license?
In this step, you will learn exactly what you’ll need to be eligible to apply for a driver’s license in the state of New York. First things first: Have you recently moved to New York from another state? If Yes, start at part A. If no, skip to part B.
Part A:
Welcome to New York! In short, you must surrender your out-of-state license and transfer to your NYS license within 30 days of establishing residency. You can find a complete guide at https://www.dmv.org/relocation/ Hope your transition goes smoothly!
Part B:
If any of the following criteria apply to you, you are required to obtain a new driver’s license:
-You have never been previously licensed in New York and at least 18 years old
-You are licensed to driver in a foreign country (other than Canada)
Step 3: What is a learner permit?
A learner permit is your first step toward getting a driver’s license in most US states, including New York. You must be at least 16 years old to apply for one. You will need to pass a written test that covers laws and regulations of driving in the state of New York.
http://ift.tt/2fBQfbp
Step 4: What does the written test look like?
The written test is an important part of your educating to getting a driver’s license. It will teach you the theory of driving, driving laws and how to interpret driving situations. By carefully studying for the exam, you will stand a better chance of passing and getting one step closer to being a legal, safe driver in the state of New York.
To pass the test, you must get at least 14 of the 20 multiple choice questions correct (including getting at least two of the four questions on road signs correct)
In order to study for the test, then click here. This option includes interactive testing for each chapter for you to assess the progress you are making in your studies!
Step 5: In what languages can I take my written test in?
Class D and M permit tests are available in 14 different languages: English, Albanian, Arabic, Bosnian, Chinese, French, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian and Spanish.
Step 6: What are the learner permit restrictions?
Since the permit is not a full driver’s license, there are some restrictions that drivers must abide to in order to remain legal drivers in the state of New York. Regardless of your age, if you are driving with a learner permit, someone who is at least 21 years old and has a valid, unexpired driver’s license must accompany you. Furthermore, if you will take your vehicle from Brooklyn into New York City, you may not drive on any street within a park.
It is important to note that if you are under the age of 18, you must wait a minimum of 6 months with your valid permit in order to schedule a road test.
Here is a document released by the DMV that further explains what you can and can’t do with a driver’s permit: http://ift.tt/2HCIKMk
Step 7: What are the different types of permit and licenses anyway?
Below you will see a full description of all the types of licenses offered in the State of New York. Please note that you can also access this information here: https://dmv.ny.gov/driver- license/nys-driver-license-classes
Step 8: What is the process of getting a driver’s permit?
Beyond the written test mentioned above, the future driver will need to follow a few steps in order to successfully apply (and hopefully earn) a driver’s permit in the State of New York. These are easy steps if planned out:
1.Provide proof of identity (totaling 6 points).
2.Submit a completed Application for Driver License or Non-Driver ID Card (Form MV-44). Your legal guardian must sign the application.
3.Pay the fee.
4.Pass a vision test.
5.Pass the written test mentioned above.
Once you have successfully obtained a driver’s permit, you are ready to begin practicing driving. However, make sure you are always being safe and abiding by the laws (and what your parents / legal guardians say!).
Step 9: How can family help their teen drivers get experience in driving?
As the family of the young driver, you have a lot of responsibility in ensuring safety. Here are some tips for before a training session:
-Plan out a route instead of driving randomly
-Avoid busy streets or highways, plan to drive in smaller, quieter streets
-Make sure rear and side mirrors are adjusted appropriately for the new driver
-Remind yourself to remain calm and refrain from raising your voice during the drive
Once the driving training is already underway, here are some things to consider:
-Warn the driver far in advance of any lane changes / signaling / turns / merges coming up
-Avoid talking too much as this can be distracting for the driver
-Point out any dangerous decisions or blatant errors as the training is going on, as opposed to waiting until it is over
-DMV New York recommends keeping sessions under 20 minutes to begin with
However, it is highly recommended you hire a driving school in order to provide professional lessons to your child.
Step 10: How do I choose a reliable driving school and what do I look for in them?
Finding the right driving school for your child is very important. Most people are not aware of what makes a good driving school, so please read carefully before just calling up anyone willing to teach your child! Before committing to a school, you will need to consider a few items including your budget, how quickly you’d want to complete the training and whether you’d like one-on-one training or in a group setting.
Firstly, in short, a driving school is an authorized business by the DMV’s Bureau of Driver Training Programs. Although there are a lot of different regulations stipulated by the DMV, (which I recommend you read, can be found here: https://dmv.ny.gov/driver- training/requirements-and-forms-driving-schools-and-instructors) , there are some basic things to look out for at first glance. Businesses must:
-Have a license clearly displayed at the business location
-Have an office that is open to the public with at least 50sq ft. dedicated to the operation of driving school business
-Use acceptable receipts and contracts
The school may provide the DMV approved 5-hour Pre-licensing Course to drivers looking to earn their driver’s license. More information can be found here: http://ift.tt/2CB1U1u
Step 11: How many lessons should I take & when will know if I am ready to drive?
As per New York State regulations, teens are recommended to have 50 hours of supervised driving experience before they are able to take the road test. Furthermore, if you are 16-years old, you must wait at least 6 months before being able to take the test.
Once you have completed at least 50 hours of supervised driving, you should speak with your driving instructor on your ability to tackle the driver’s test. Not only should your instructor be able to confidently say you are prepared to take your driver’s test (and be a safe driver beyond the test), but you also must feel comfortable with the idea of driving by yourself.
If you do not feel comfortable or your instructor does not believe you are fully ready, you should continue practicing supervised driving. There is no need to rush toward a driver’s license – remember, safety first.
Once you, your instructor and family all agree that you have had enough driving experience, feel free to register for the road test.
Step 12: Is there any more training required beyond the 50 hours?
Yes. Once you’ve finished your supervised driving training, your parent or legal guardian must complete a Certification of Supervised driving (FORM MV-262). The form can be found here: http://ift.tt/2EJIQE4
Please note that the DMV recommends 50 hours of supervised driving hours where the recommended breakdown is as follows:
-10 hours in medium / high traffic
-15 hours at night
-25 hours at regular driving conditions
Step 13: What are the advantages of hiring a driving school as opposed to learning from family and friends?
You may feel reluctant to invest in a good driving school, but please read below to understand just how beneficial this investment can be. Some of the advantages of learning how to drive through a school include:
-Being taught by industry professionals who are specialized in teaching new drivers the skills needed to be safe on the road. Family members and friends are not properly trained to give lessons. These professionals are ready to deal with any dangerous situation that may arise during practice sessions
-Once you confirm the classes, there is no going back. The scheduled training times and strict guidelines will teach your child how to have driving discipline, which will stay with them for years to come.
-Regular practice and proper road knowledge
Think about it this way. Whatever professional field you may work in – you wouldn’t let an outsider do your job and expect it to be done well, would you? So why would you assume family and friends could competently fill in as driving instructors when there are professionals specialized in that specific skill?
Be wise. Invest in your child’s safe driving. At the end of the day, safety is always first.
Step 14: How can I keep calm and handle my nervousness as a beginner driver?
If you are nervous at the thought of driving, don’t worry! You are not the first and definitely won’t be the last. While a certain level of nervousness is natural for someone who is just starting to learn how to drive, it should not be excessive to the point of hindering your ability to drive safely and listen to instructions. In this section, we will learn a few things that will help control your driving fear.
1.Make sure you are well rested and hydrated
2.Before getting in the car, breathe calmly and remind yourself that it will all turn out OK
3.Ensure you have an experienced driver in the passenger seat to give you confidence (see above for importance of driving schools)
4.Ask the experienced driver any questions you have before beginning; feel free to share any insecurities or point of concerns.
5.Initially, avoid driving at night and during peak times
6.If while driving you feel excessively nervous, feel free to let the experienced passenger know and safely pull over or park the car if need be.
Step 15: Should we be concerned about other drivers and aware of our surrounding?
Absolutely. In order to appropriately practice safe driving, you will need to always be aware of your surrounding, including other vehicles, motorbikes, pedestrians, cyclists, road condition, traffic signs, weather and any other external (and internal) variable.
While driving, make sure you are constantly using your side mirrors and rear mirror to drive within safe distances of surrounding car. For example, if you are looking to change lanes, always use your side and rear mirrors to check for safety.
Step 16: Is there a difference between day driving and night driving?
Yes! Make sure that you have ample practice driving at night, as this is a completely different experience with added dangers on the road. You will need to drive on alert, always checking side mirrors and rear mirror.
Firstly, and most obviously, the nighttime brings reduced visibility. While many highways are well lit, this is not the case for every street. When driving at night, always remember to turn on your light beams, as this is the easiest way for surrounding drivers to notice your car. Always ensure that your brake lights are functioning properly and that you use turn signals whenever needed.
In the cold Brooklyn winters, rush hour is often during nighttime. Make sure you pay extra attention to surrounding drivers, your speed in comparison to the speed limit and staying within your lane.
Nighttime also brings the possibility of drowsy driving, especially if you are a beginner driver. According to a study published by the National Sleep Foundation, sleep- deprivation causes 6,400 deaths and 50,000 serious injuries annually in the US. Always ensure you are well rested, take breaks as necessary and avoid drivers who are swerving or drifting.
Step 17: How do I handle unexpected situations?
Sometimes it may be difficult to plan for an unexpected situation, because… well… they are unexpected! But there are certain steps we can take to firstly avoid unexpected situations and handle them effectively when they do come up.
Unexpected situations may very likely arise due to some type of vehicle issue or failure. If so, it is important to
-Remain calm
-Pull over safely whenever possible
-Set out reflective triangles or turn on emergency blinkers. Position device at 100- foot and 200-foot increments behind your car.
-If you cannot correct the problem, signal for help. Alternatively, you should always have an emergency contact number of a family member or trusted professional to help you in emergency situations
Unexpected situations will occur, often when you least expect it. By always driving within the law and being aware of your surroundings, you will be able to reduce the chances of being part of unexpected situations.
Step 18: How severe are traffic violation and how can I avoid them?
Firstly, it is important to understand that there are many different types of traffic violations. Depending on the severity of your violation, you may expect fines, points deducted in your license, suspensions or even cancellations of your license. You can find more details here: http://ift.tt/2CBD7uf
You can avoid traffic violations by being a responsible, law-abiding driver. You must always adhere to the local laws, paying attention to the signs and speed limits. Often
times, you will need to use your best judgment to interpret certain situations. If ever you are uncertain of what you can or can’t do, steer on the safe side. Contact an experienced professional with any further concerns you may have.
Also keep in mind of driving behaviors that may annoy or offend surrounding drivers. According to a statistics report, texting while driving and tailgating are the two worse driving behaviors according to surrounding drivers.
Step 19: What is the difference in driving on the highway vs. in the city?
There are various differences of driving down a highway or in city blocks. Below is a summarized break down of what you can expect at each one:
Highway:
-Higher speeds (&more constant speeds) – always pay attention to speed limits
-You will need more time and road distance to break so always pay attention to the horizon ahead
-Focus on staying within your lane and not swaying
City blocks:
-Slower speeds (& more variable speeds)
-Always position vehicle in the appropriate lane; i.e., if you need to turn right, make sure you move to the right most lane before approaching the intersection
-Many more unknowns to look out for including pedestrians, bicycles and stoplights.
In both cases, you must always follow the law and be aware of your surroundings to ensure you are practicing safe driving.
Step 20: Confidence building and readiness to drive
Having the confidence to know that you are able to drive is an important part of actually being able to drive well. With experience, you will naturally gain confidence and know how to use your best judgment to make decisions on the road.
Remember, learning how to drive with a good school is a huge step toward gaining confidence!
Step 21: How can parents monitor their teen drivers?
Great question! As the parent of a new teen driver, I suspect you would like to know exactly how you monitor if they are being safe drivers.
