I've been playing too much DQB2 right now, so here's another DQ question!
What would everyone's room size/fanciness/ambience preferences be in DQB2?
To elaborate, rooms in DQB2 have 3 "traits" to them, with each NPC having a preference for each of those traits.
The first trait is size, which ranges from Tiny (4-15 blocks big), Small (16-35), Regular (36-63), Large (64-99), to Enormous (100-150).
The second is fanciness, which ranges from 0-4 stars. 0 fanciness rooms use things like dirt floors, straw matresses and torches, while 4 fanciness basically needs all the walls and floors to be made of gold and be filled with very fancy things like king's beds or gold braziers. 1-3 fanciness stars fall in between, with the gap from 0star and 1 star being much smaller than the gap between 3star and 4star.
The last trait is ambience, which isn't a scale like the others. Instead there are five types (technically 6, but no NPCs ask for normal to my knowledge) and given items will raise their ambience in the room, which the game then spits out as a pie chart and whatever has a plurality of the points will be the "ambience."
Natural - generally this is stuff made of wood and other plant life. Also, items dyed white or green gain this as secondary ambience. Cool - most fancy things like the gold stuff and castle walls, but also most metal things that aren't fancy too. So stuff like walls made of solid iron or copper tend to be this. Also, items dyed blue or black gain this as secondary ambience. Cute - Generally stuff like plushies, things with slime designs, etc. Also, items dyed pink or red gain this as secondary ambience. Flamboyant - Mostly stuff related to the local religion of evil, citadel walls, unholy altars, false idols, etc. Spaceship walls/floors/etc. also count. Items dyed purple or yellow gain this as secondary ambience. Cheeky - There's only like… 2? Cheeky items in the entire game which then give a huge amount of ambience weight. The easy to get one is a red tinted light with heart designs. So uh, wanting this basically means "They like the Naughty Night Light item a lot."
So for example, the NPCs you meet near the start of the game (Lulu and Malroth) share the same tastes and want their rooms to be Large, 3 fanciness stars, and cool.
Gen: Regular, 2 Stars, Flamboyant
Speck: Small, 2 Stars, Natural
The Four: Small, 1 Star, Normal
Ocarina: Regular, 0 Stars, Natural
Mask: Large, 1 Star, Cool
Dusk: Regular, 2 Stars, Natural
RGBV: Enormous, 3 Stars, Cute/Natural/Cool/Flamboyant
Lore: Enormous, 4 Stars, Cheeky/Cool
Realm: Tiny, 3 Stars, Flamboyant
Sketch: Small, 2 Stars, Cool
Wind: Regular, 3 Stars, Natural
Steam: Large, 4 Stars, Cool
Shadow: Enormous, 1 Star, Cool
Oni: Tiny, 0 Stars, Normal/Natural
