At six months, solid foods, such as mashed fruits and vegetables, should be introduced to complement breastfeeding for up to two years or more." I havent much thought past that two years to the "or more" part & we are gunning towards it rapidly along with the intensified social stigma of breastfeeding a child beyond toddling age. the stigma that defines feeding my 21mo son from my bosom as "extended breastfeeding" instead of just "breastfeeding" - the stigma that encourages us to censor menstruation, censor sexuality, censor birth & breastfeeding & censor our gorgeous graceful guileless aging - with our spellbinding silver hair & fascinating wrinkles each earned with experience. so Im not giving up my fantastic sorcery, my milk making magic powers, my wonderful mama wizardry just for a social norm.
