Hi, my name is Wenwen, and Momoshamu is my little space where I share with friends and family my handmade items. My work space can be anywhere as long as I have my sewing machine and my sewing basket with me, preferably with a big table too. Currently I am staying in my school hostel and I moved all my material there, therefore it has become my small art and craft studio whereby friends in hostel can often drop by and order things from me.

I am currently a student from School of Art, Design and Media, NTU, majoring in Visual Communications. I get inspirations from everywhere and the best way to get inspired is to see more and read more. For craft lovers, ‘Mollie Makes’ is a magazine which I highly recommend. If you are looking for something free, internet is of course always the best choice. ‘Pinterest’ is a good place to collect ideas for craft and DIY. Also, Renegade Craft Fair is a place where I personally find it really inspiring! You will get to know some ‘world-class’ crafters and see how they get inspired for their work.

Most importantly, I get inspiration from daily life. As a design student, I strongly believe design exists to improve our lives. I try my best to design something that is different and fits the requirements of my customers perfectly. I love details, it is the details in things that make them unique. Therefore I love adding some small details here and there in my work to make it more special. I love handmade items because I believe it is only through handmade that you will be able to create something you want exactly.

For example, I wanted a wallet which has a pocket specially for my iPhone, a slot for pen, a zipped pocket for coins and single pocket for cards. It is not possible to find something that can fulfill what you need exactly in a mass produced market, however, through handmade you can. Therefore I often work very closely with my customers and come up with a design that really fits what they want and of course each of these pieces turn out to be something really unique and one of a kind.

The 3 works which I have chosen are examples of how handmade products can be specially designed to fulfill your needs: 

A lunch bag inspired camera bag. Full padding for protection and draw-string for the bag so that the camera can be taken out fast enough whenever you want to capture a moment.

Required by the director of Rush-Me-Not Art Studio, a water-proof brush holder/brush stand for children.

My very first proper handmade wallet for myself. A wallet which I designed to fit what I need exactly.
