"i know that they wouldn't, but that doesn't mean that i shouldn't try either." taylan had no intentions of approaching a dragon at all, with no idea to what kind of true power they hold it wasn't worth the risk to approach one. however she wasn't afraid to approach the fae when they weren't tending to their dragons. "i have absolutely no plans to approach one of them, i will approach the fae when they are away from the dragons." a chuckle leaving her lips at his next words. "i'm sure you'd make an excellent father to a nice little kitty." taylan teased the older draven. "don't worry i won't be bringing you a pet cat for at least a little while."
" i wouldn't be that willing to share if i were them, " eldar thought out loud as he was observing the area and those tending to the dragons. " we shouldn't approach them, but we could get a better look, under a cover as well since as delicious as i probably am, i don't plan to become someone's meal today, " he smirked nodding towards a small treeline further down. it was possible they would be able to learn more about their relationships with each other and any odd behaviors if they were to observe them for a longer time. " nah, " eldar said quickly. " i've got wings of my own, i'd prefer a cat. " the male then cringed, rubbed his temples and pointed a finger at his sister. " forget i said that. that is not a birthday wish. "

CLOSED ; for @feathcrcd's CELESTE.
she found celeste to be everything she was afraid of being. openly, at least. in the deepest corners of her mind, iphigenia realized she was far more similar to celeste than she liked. had she gone down an slightly more militant path, she could have been the peregryn. not a peregryn of course, but maybe a commander. or, on her way to becoming one. if her father had noticed how calculating she could be. if she played her cards right.
instead she was just a lady. just a healer. despite the faint jealousy, this was how iggy preferred it. less eyes. less judgement. she could watch on the sidelines. no, she did not want celeste's life. she was envious of her power though.
"commander." even with her inner monologue, iphigenia's body moves into a curtsey. shallow. polite enough for her militant status. "it's been some time but, i suppose it's a good sign to have no use for a healer."

⋆。°✩ amara // closed starter. @feathcrcd
the day had been filled with countless to-dos and polite smiles and various civilities that quite frankly impressed the high fae that she had managed to pull it all off. time and time again she found it difficult to bite her tongue - and that was usually with the night court's inner circle alone. now the evening, where the dusk court looked its most remarkable with an array of burnt pinks, blues and gold, amara was in desperate need of some fun. she had successfully snagged an unattended bottle of faerie wine that was guarded close to her chest as she wandered the halls, the dark crimson liquid nearly blending into the silky fabric of her dress that whispered against the stone floor beneath her. she rounded a corner and slowed her pace as she spotted a quaint terrace sheltered from the rest of the court and overlooking the city below - and a familiar fae with night black hair. eldar. amara gently opened the balcony door and leaned against its frame, her hazel eyes lighting up as she shook the bottle of wine teasingly. "is this balcony taken?"

closed starter for eldar draven — @feathcrcd
Her mind ran a million winds a second, yet she could not find the answer, could put the puzzle together of how to get her king and queen mother back to the capital. how to return the court were they belonged and hopefully forget any of it had happened to begin with. no, instead she was frustrated, condemned for sleep to elude her, haunting the halls of dusk at night in silence. a few nights before she had come across the swing in the harden, since then she had gone there every night observing the moon as if it would give her answers. she had sense him before he had come near her, "does sleep evade you as well, lord draven?" while her heart began to soften once more for the night court, she was still not there yet.

it was far too easy, and perhaps that meant he should stop. but carden had long since chosen to ignore such signs, to continue to press into the sensitive buttons he found. only for celeste. it was unfortunate for her, but she had the power to walk away from him at any moment. she chose to stay – he chose to continue annoying her. " only to you, love. " he says easily with a wink. it was true, too. while he annoyed most people for sport, celeste was a special interest to him. teasing saint's sisters was fun, but he also rarely spoke to them. due to the nature of their positions, he spent far more time with celeste, had known her longest of all. dimly he would consider behaving more around celeste, acting like the charming emissary he's plenty capable of being, but each singular time she says something that amuses him. it should insult anyone, but carden just shoots her that arrogant grin. " a pretty face, for starters. " which while he was joking, it wasn't a lie. carden knew his charm and appearance were part of what made him such a smooth talker, made him so effective at socializing with the other courts and important players within them. his genetics were a mess, but at least he had a pretty face alongside the pearly white wings. " considering i have done my job just fine, i think my way is plenty effective for me. " he counters. that was one of the things that started this little game of theirs, his difference of opinion and celeste's single minded thinking. they weren't the same, and she couldn't stand to see it. sometimes he wondered if she even tried. " now celeste, i allow many lies to trickle from those lips of yours, but disappointing whoever comes to bed with me is simply a step too far. " his words fall like honey, even though he's not truly trying to flirt. " should you need the proof, i'm certain you know where my chambers are. " right around the corner from her own. a chuckle slips from his lips now, and carden can't help but wonder why this is so much fun for him when she doesn't say a single nice thing. " oh, i'm quite used to not getting what i want, but that doesn't mean i can't try. "
her knuckles were turning white in her lap as she was still holding the irritation in. she couldn't really do the avoiding and she did not run from those she did not like. it was always facing the issue up front. it'd be a good lesson or a test for her character at best and acting on some impulse or doing something she's wanted to do anyways at worst. " you're insufferable. " what was it that anyone saw in him ? he was well-traveled and had connections in other courts, someone must have liked him, considering their intercourt relations hadn't gone to utter waste. she couldn't see how. the idea that this was just who carden is was easier than pondering that he is deliberately provoking her because the latter option would make her try to make his life whole life miserable, kick him off saint's circle and perhaps get herself exiled in the process instead. and as sad as it is this and the peregryns was all she has going for herself. it is her whole life. " what is it that saint sees in you ? " she felt that she could name at least five other fae to consider for the position that to celeste's mind was carden uselessly occupying. " but for which one of us is it truly convenient to think their way, hm ? " she placed her elbow on the table and chin on her knuckles as if she was expecting his answer, but really she was not. celeste couldn't help rolling her eyes at that explosive smugness that filled the room. " isn't it enough to disappoint one person tonight ? " her words are followed by a slight tilt in the corner of her lips, a shadow of a wicked smile. " you sound desperate, so consider this a lesson that you won't always get to hear what you want, carden. "

☆゚*·゚STICKING A SMALL spoon into the sauce, nik tasted it, huffing softly. he sprinkled a little more salt in and stirred before tasting it again, feeling satisfied. grabbing a bowl, he grabbed a pasta spoon and grabbed some of the homemade cavatappi pasta and dumped it into the sauce, ensuring he coated everything. this was one of his favorite combination of flavors, making this sauce absolutely delicious. for some reason, he hadn't made it for eldar and now, he needed his opinion. fluffing the pasta in the sauce, nik took a deep breath and inhaled the beautiful scent of the food. grabbing a plate for himself as well, he brought them to the kitchen table and placed it in front of eldar. "honestly, i'm surprised i haven't made this for you before. it's one of my favorite sauces, and a pretty popular one around here. opinions?"

erilyn grins with ease, the name she'd chosen was cute at the time and now just felt so part of her she'd not expected it. " hello eldar. " she says with a laugh, trying to push away her worries. she'd hoped not to see anyone familiar, it made things tricky, but her hair was tucked beneath her cloak, and she had to remind herself that she didn't look like the dawn lady in this attire. certainly because she never wore pants when she was herself, despite loving them. " i was in the capital enjoying the nightlife when it seems i picked a poor time to visit. " offers she, the lie weaving with ease. " sadly it seems the taverns are safe with us both here. " she missed her home more and more each day, but sneaking out again was helping. " please, their ale is actually pretty good here. " and she orders just that when the barkeep passes by, a charming grin atop her lips flashing towards the other.
the second he felt another person so close to him, he was sure he had recognized the scent somewhere and his nose did not betray him as he turned around to see who it was. " athena, " he greeted her with a smile that bordered on surprise and confusion. " i didn't know you were here. wait, how are you here ? i was hoping at least one of us was out there fulfilling our duty to dance the roof off all taverns in prythian while i'm stuck here. " he was in disbelief about how in hell she could be here and it was not as though they were close and he knew that much about her. truth be told, even if she had told him, he was probably too drunk to remember much of it most of the time, but it was now a fact that she had some sort of a connection to one of the courts. and that was intriguing. " let's get you a drink. "

erilyn knew one day that her little masquerade game would come back to bite her, and when she spots someone she knew well from her time in taverns, from plenty of parties that continued into the wee hours of the morning… well, she downs her glass of wine. eri knew sneaking out into the dusk taverns had been risky, but stars she didn't think anyone would notice her. and so the dawn lady tucks her hair beneath her hood, just as she does when she pretends to be athena. not one to avoid someone, eri moves through the crowd and leans against the bar, flashing a smile and praying to whatever gods that did exist that he didn't recognize her as anything but athena. " fancy meeting you here. "

aydin chuckles, because of all his siblings eldar is the easiest to needle and took it the best way. the older brother didn't have to filter his words, he simply got to be an ass and it taken as a joke or at least not as an actual insult. he truly was only teasing eldar. " obviously it takes skill. " he says with a laugh and a roll of his eyes. the older draven shakes his head, his brother has always been an amusing one. " when it means you haven't even been to your room yet – yes. " he says easily, but in truth he's not judging his brother. aydin can't, and he makes it clear in his tone that there is no disapproval or intent to incite shame. in truth, he doubted many would even notice the draven lord wearing the same clothes. aydin was just an ass. " well when you make it so easy. " he says with a laugh, grunting a bit and only chuckling more when his brother's elbow meets his side. he is hungry, though, and breakfast with his brother does sound like a good way to spend it. aydin knows he needs to share more time with his siblings, and it's a good start. " then we must part after breakfast, i can only handle so much in one period of time. " a tease, but a dark truth. aydin has never known how to handle an excessive amount of affection.
eldar scowled for a second at his brothers words, before plastering a smile on his face. the one which usually helped him get out of trouble. " aydin! have i ever told you how observant you are ? and just to remind you, yes, that's a compliment, " he spoke and dipped his chin with a smirk. a desperate try to bring the other's attention to something else. " i didn't consider you to be so posh. have you pushed out the law to forbid outfit repeating in the court of nightmares already ? " he teased back, enjoying the banter as much as he was embarrassed to have run into aydin in such an awkward situation. he was not one to shy away from anything though, especially when he was aware the man beside him was in no place to shame him. " now you're simply provoking me. " the male stuck out his elbow to try to hit aydin's side to put some stop to it, but he was also just simply glad to start moving forward. towards something that will keep his stomach from grumbling. " just don't go running out on me and screaming in fear of affection. "

"i intend to ask the fae around here maybe." there was no way that she was about to approach a dragon itself to figure them out. "i do not think it would be wise to approach them." she added as she pointed her eyes back to the dragons above them. while she didn't know much about them, she was sure that they were very strong and powerful. with minds of their own she had no idea how one of them would even react if approached by a fae from another court. "i don't know, i mean i think it'd be really cool to ride one but also extremely terrifying. would you?"
eldar followed his sister's gaze to take in the creatures in the skies. she had that look in her eyes and he could not blame her, the view was spectacular, one he had never imagined that he would ever see. the enormous creatures were as breathtaking as the gusts of wind created by of the strength of their large wings. " why not do so ourselves ? " he made it sound like an innocent suggestion, being careless about the fact that these beings could cause their untimely death in a matter of seconds, in a matter of a breath. eldar offered her his arm and gestured to walk closer to the area the dragons were circling and get a better look. " if you were given a chance right now, right in this spot, would you want to ride it ? "

her eyes light with interest — pouncing on how swiftly the words fall from her mouth, like catching a mouse by the tail. and like everyone else: celeste lies. which is no surprise. the fae were such liars when it came to weakness, putting on layers of strength like a lady sat at her vanity, debating if she should add another filmy layer of powder to her face. “it does, as much as we try to hide it.” they lacked what mortals had intrinsically (which was their sense of humanity). this intrinsic compassion and capacity to care for others was one of the few beautiful things about the mortal world, their willingness to share — their goods, their hearts, their sadness. this was a mighty power iphigenia had observed of the mortal world. the community that they built while relying on each other, showing her how easy it was to fall in love with one of them. “one system we share, yet our emotions betray us.”
“i didn’t have much free time to research,” iggy reminds her gently. “us healers very quickly had to do a crash lesson on dusk flora and treatments. you’d think us prythians would have exercised a bit of caution without magic, but even training injuries don’t stop — especially when all these warriors have nothing to do but challenge heroes of other courts.” seemingly uncharacteristically genial of her, but iggy felt more comfortable with the dawn court generally. “that is to say, i did not observe any physical changes beyond that of fatigue and melancholia at the loss. the reason our aviary fae cited for avoiding the sky was fear of dragons. of course, you would know better than i.”
the statement from the healer scented of confidence to celeste and perhaps that was why iphigenia was known to be a good healer. she just hoped she wasn't mistaking that confidence for optimism since the two there could easily get mixed up. " fair enough. " celeste had nothing more to say to that while her mind worked up in patterns to decide whether there was anything she could ask the healer and how best to approach that. her thoughts interrupted by the question.
" i am well, thank you for asking, " she responded quickly. maybe too quickly as if the response came out of her without even a second of thought, and her mind wrapped around her next words. celeste never really thought of her psychological well-being. when every single word that was spoken and every move made was to work towards some kind of goal or try to achieve something, there was no space for something so impractical. " feeling unwell on the inside surely impacts the appearance, does it not ? " that had been celeste's rock after all, fake it until you make it and then faking everything becomes so easy that you don't even have to waste time looking at what kind of creature you actually were. " i've actually meant to ask you about the loss of powers. did you ever try to research if there were any physical changes to us for that amount of time ? " wouldn't it be such a dangerous knowledge, to know how exactly they were impacted.
