silence from the mother wasn't something that the high priestess was growing used to. while she often tried to not show that it wasn't affecting her it wasn't the easiest to do. with the display that had been seen from the transition of dusk to summer it was even more unsettling. they were all just pawns in whatever this game was. sitting on the couch in the common room of the dawn quarters she was thinking to herself when the other entered the common space. "don't mind me," she started before schooling her expression and turning to face the other. "how are you faring in summer? with all of these changes?"

CLOSED ; for @feathcrcd's CELESTE.
there was something enviable in the elegance of feathered wings, especially when contrasted with the leather set nor had been born with. it was a reckoning upon seeing the peregryns. unlike her sister, honoria had never dreamt of the other courts. it was hard to patch together an idea of them and wrap her head around the rumoured opulence or beauty of the other courts until she finally laid eyes on them.
their warriors were beautiful, the picture of divine retribution while illyrians such as herself looked like they'd clawed their way out of hell. to have been born so similar to them, and yet to be the horrible, ugly, demented version relegated into the horrors of the night. honoria had difficulty putting into words how she felt about the entire thing. face-to-face with this injustice, wrapping her tongue around the jealousy. ultimately, it feels unfair.
honoria tries to pocket the envy. she figured that she should test the ground with the dawn commander. although it was hardly nature of the night court to have allies, nor was curious where the other solar courts sat.
"deveraux," she offers in greeting. "off to the training yard as well?"

hearing the string of complaints of summer's heat would have amused the commander of night had he not been tossed yet again into whims of the deities. by the cauldron, was this what their existence had been reduced to? being tossed form one court to another? summer was not ideal, the night fae craving the shadows of their home, the coolness of the night. although summer and the heat was the least of his, and night's worries, still. he had been attempting to pick up tid bits as he slips in and out of the minds, most of it useless as questions of where they were and how were the dominant thoughts of most fae scrambling about. when he had found siara, they parted, very reluctantly, once more to find the others. it seemed luck was on his side when he catches another familiar face of his court. kalore is quick to alert them of his presence, "they're preparing the night quarters for us, i was told where we would be lodging. though i do not plan, nor recommend we become comfortable here."

location: summer court, adriata. all's lounge rooms. time: night. with: @feathcrcd , eldar.
WANG XUE, much like her sentiment since the king got a power up, had been panicking. Not only did the Prythian find out she was a lightsinger, but now his majesty had taken a very permanent, very deadly turn for the worse. It was a turn for the worse, of course. He was a dragon! How - why - what? She had no words to express the terror which had coiled into her heart & squeezed it to the point of breaking.
her hair is going to turn white from fear, she just knew it.
She didn't want to be anywhere near the Gaean quarters, she didn't want to be anywhere near anyone, to be entirely fair, but she couldn't isolate herself in her assigned chambers. Someone will come seeking he rout with pitchforks held aloft sooner or later. Instead of staying in the common rooms of the Gaean suite, Xue had meandered down the vaguely familiar place - while she had never been to Adriata - or the Summer court - before, the layout of the royal palaces had all been pretty much the same to her.
Rounding a corridor, she opened a set of doors that led to a lounge room, where the various fae could safely mingle. While it wasn't full, it also wasn't entirely empty & seeing all the fea had made her panic again. But, then her dark gaze fell upon a familiar fae - & a safe one, though that probably had made him least so - & she found herself approaching.
"Do you mind if I join you? I feel like I'll go mad if I stay in Gaean suite." not to mention she felt like the fae will be out for blood & take it out on any Gaean they find in their way.
"&, uh, I don't think the rest of the courts will be friendly anymore."

erilyn knew her game wouldn't last forever, the moment she connected who eldar was and realized that his lordship granted him the same privilege as her. they knew the same people, were expected to know one another were she not so quiet and off to the side when she wasn't in this persona. the name is still weird to her, even if she'd picked it. sometimes she regrets the lie, sometimes she remembers it was the only way she could live. " you will just have to deal with me, eldar, they are my friends and i am selfish. " she teases easily. it's a lie anyway, as much as she's committed to it. she has very few friends and certainly none who see her in this light. there may be few she knows, some like eldar who she sees often, but nothing like what she was saying. once again she feels guilty, and once again she takes a large sip of her drink to wash it away. " bruising your ego is easy, you deserve it sometimes too. " she teases further. the smile atop her lips is genuine and rare, she lets herself relax and actually enjoy her night. pushing aside negative emotions is easy when you're drinking. " oh you'll always need to be cautious around me, never know what i'm up to. " teasing eldar just seems to be most of the way she talks to him, easily letting herself enjoy the moment and let out her actual humor. few ever saw it, even less would believe the dawn lady capable. " well, being trapped in a new court certainly puts a damper on my winter solstice plans. " she points out dryly, sarcastically. his words weren't expected, and erilyn has to force herself to shake her head lightly at her friend. " who said i don't like myself as i am ? " she didn't – she liked this version of herself best. a hum, eri sips more of her drink and finishes it completely. " it's alright, i think the next could be better though. "
it would be interesting to see if and how their dynamic would change when her true identity would be revealed to eldar, because how long it was possible to keep a lie like that up. they probably walked the same halls, talked to the same people in the same day with him, not knowing of it. the revelation will do great damage to his ego, but when it came to eldar, he was the rare case for whom it might actually do a service. " but, athena, you know how much i love attention. why do you think i don't deserve it ? " he spoke with something of a pout, his showing nothing but innocence in spite of having nothing but trouble on his mind. eldar was a sociable creature and even though he just liked meeting new people and trying to impress them, he was also a tad bit curious about the people who knew this female outside this night time scene. " you just want to bruise my ego for now reason, " he spoke with a shrug, as if giving it up, as if he knew he was right. " look at you, so clever, " eldar teased and chuckled. " i didn't even realize i had no choice, didn't know you were such a master manipulator. i'll have to be more cautious. " he actually still had no idea. she had given him the impression that she was this easy going girl, who had enough funds from somewhere and free time to not worry about the essentials, but the details were missing. " oh. something particular has killed your mood this evening ? " eldar had turned towards her with interest, as he took a large sip of his drink, his elbow rested on the bar. " prove your arguments for once, please, " he challenged her with a stare. " i accept you, you should also accept yourself. like yourself just the way you are. " it was supposed to be an over exaggerated pep talk, but the two might have not been drunk enough for them to come to that part of the night. because it definitely had a specific time, place and level of intoxication when it came to their nights out together. " ah, all that's left then is to do it. what's your vote on this place ? "

location: summer court, adriata. dawn court suite. vivian's chambers. time: night. with: @feathcrcd , celeste.
SUMMER fucking court. Of all places their... dragon-king could take them to, it was this annoying place. Part of her had been gloating - she was right, after all. The Two Mothers had worked in unison - the Made & the Created, now as thick as thieves.
it takes a Made thing to understand.
Pulling her only true friend, the only one that had - minus Saint - known almost everything there was to know about her into her chambers, Vivian closed the doors behind them &, wordlessly, poured the two glasses of whiskey - to the very brim. Getting used to this new space had been as effortless as breathing, & she found herself navigating her way around as if she'd lived in the place since her Making. Setting down the brim-full glassed of hard liquor in the coffee table in her bedroom, Vivian sat on one of the sofas & nursed a glass between her palms.
"We've reached another stage of this hell." the spymaster spoke, a heavy sigh leaving her lips, glass drawn to take a comforting sip of the whiskey.
She'd preferred gin, but her room had lacked in variety. She should ask Xander to procure a bottle or three for her, when she sees him.
"Celeste, from the bottom of my black & rotting heart, I would like to say - what the fuck." Vivian leaned forward in her sofa, silver gaze fixed upon her closest friend. "We have to regroup. Closing our ranks won't be the smartest thing to do, but perhaps it'd be the safest for the time being - at least for a week, until we can figure out what fresh hell had befallen us & how in the Cauldron's name are we supposed to navigate having a dragon for a king." she'll have to talk to Saint, but Celeste had been someone she had trusted without blinking -
& that spoke volumes.
"What is your opinion on all of this?"

location: summer court, adriata. night court suite. time: night time, unspecified. with: @feathcrcd , eldar.
ALARA had not yet spoken with her cousins - particularly with her High lady cousin Nesrin, as she had seemingly missed her around by minutes - but, tracking Eldar down was not supposed to be a problem. & she could really use talking to him. Prior to... vanishing here, Eldar had promised to start training her in combat, & now that the fun had been brought to the funeral of all reason, it was high time for her to pick a blade up.
it was still early, she could probably find him in their court's common room.
& she was right. Hurrying down the steps of her bedroom suite, Alara had reached the shared rooms & spotted the dark, ruffled hair of her, arguably favourite, cousin. Flashing a brief smile as she approached him, the solemn expression once again took over her visage. This was simply horrible. The king had gone completely mad - to the extent it changed his form, they've all change courts - again - & had now found themselves in Adriata, Summer's capital. When will all this madness end? The Mothers - plural, yes - had seemed intent on never letting them all rest for long in one place & especially not allowing them all to return to their respectful courts.
"Eldar, how are you feeling?" she asked, concern flashing over her face for a moment, before ebbing away. "So, Summer. Another court, another deadly game to play. What do you think of all this mess that befell us?"

location: summer court, adriata. autumn court suite. time: afternoon. with: @feathcrcd , korain.
ARA HAD really liked adventure - especially the ones she had been a willing participant in, but this? She had not been a willing participant in this new bullshit. She was smart enough to know Kabir would go poof!, she just never figured it would be poof in a beast form. Do they even have a king anymore?
aish, her head was hurting.
The Summer court took notes from Dusk & hastily accommodated them all - & now there was yet another court that Autumn had been indebted to. Gaeul will have to crack open family secrets to pay them all back at this point. Though, is her... relations with Dusk court remain as close & cordial as they'd recently been, maybe Dusk will wipe out their debt. That only leaves this court to worry over - & a fucking Summer of all courts.
aish. she was pissed.
Spotting her cousin in the Autumn court suite's common room, Ara approached with a loud click of her tongue.
"Cousin, mark me down as pissed & annoyed. What's with all this court switching crap? If the Mothers keep this shit up, we'll owe money to the entire Prythian. & the fuck is with this new dragon form? Is the monarchy done? You'd figure Gaea & the rest of us would not be very excited about having a fucking dragon for a king. No offence to Dusk's beasts - unlike Kabir, they at least seem reasonable." Ara sighed.
"& Summer of all places. Why not Autumn, or Spring? My delicate constitution is not equipped to deal with this scorching hell." Ara whined.

status: closed starter for @feathcrcd location: the dusk court, mess hall
"Commander." Valentine ducked his head in a slight bow, as was customary when greeting a woman of Celeste Deveraux's rank. It would've been easy to forget his place, in the halls of the dusk court, a strange, equalizing quality to the chaos they had all been thrown into — but it would've been an affront to his training, to presume that some return to an equilibrium was outside the realm of possibility. Preparation for all contingencies had been a fundamental tenet of his education, even though making shit up as he went along had, in practice, proved more valuable. "How does it compare, wine at dawn and wine at dusk?"

gaeul had been waiting for her siblings to show up in the autumn quarters. kai had been found almost immediately after they'd arrived in the summer court, but given that the magic had thrown them all into different places of the summer court she hadn't been sure of where to look for the other two. the autumn quarters had been set up pretty quickly and the high lady had figured that would be the best place to wait for them to show up. the moment she checked through the door of the room that had been made up for kor she'd spotted him. "thank the cauldron you are here. are you alright?"

☆゚*·゚STICKING A SMALL spoon into the sauce, nik tasted it, huffing softly. he sprinkled a little more salt in and stirred before tasting it again, feeling satisfied. grabbing a bowl, he grabbed a pasta spoon and grabbed some of the homemade cavatappi pasta and dumped it into the sauce, ensuring he coated everything. this was one of his favorite combination of flavors, making this sauce absolutely delicious. for some reason, he hadn't made it for eldar and now, he needed his opinion. fluffing the pasta in the sauce, nik took a deep breath and inhaled the beautiful scent of the food. grabbing a plate for himself as well, he brought them to the kitchen table and placed it in front of eldar. "honestly, i'm surprised i haven't made this for you before. it's one of my favorite sauces, and a pretty popular one around here. opinions?"

he wouldn't make the joke about an illyrian being lazy, instead he just smirks. " today you need to change after breakfast before you go about the rest of your day. " he says pointedly instead, making fun of his wrinkled attire rather than the obvious joke. but he wasn't nagging, aydin just enjoyed teasing where he was able. " isn't it ? " he says, grin on his lips devious and everything an older brother would give his younger when he had something over him. it wouldn't last for long, aydin knew he had plenty for eldar to find and poke him back over. it was just a matter of time. as they slip into the dining room aydin wastes no time in picking a seat, scooping his plate full with the healthy appetite he's known for. a snort, he had meant to earn that face at eldar. it doesn't ruin his hunger either, as noted by the small growl from his stomach. the idea that eldar will find something to tease aydin over resurfaces once more, and he wonders just how long before the younger draven learns just how different aydin acts around the master artist. " they are a very interesting creature. " beautiful, captivating… he could go on, but aydin refrains. he can only give eldar so much ammo against him. his eyes roll, landing on his brother as he chews his food. it gives him pause to form the best response. " they wouldn't alter what you wish to appear better anyway. best to find someone more willing. "
" alright, it's a deal. can't go back on it now, so guess i'll see you tomorrow morning. because today, well, today i just don't have it in me, " eldar said with a chuckle. quite honestly he was a little bit hungover from the night before, despite having slept like a baby and hydrated himself enough. his experience with minimizing the aftermath of the previous nights was quite large. " that's funny, " eldar said with very little amusement on his face and as they neared the dining hall, eldar opened the up the door to reveal a room in which breakfast was usually left for them. he gestured for his brother to go in first, and noticed that it seemed as though they were early enough that everything had just been brought out, fresh and warm. eldar made another face at aydin's confirmation, but the expression never left his face because of his assumption. " well... " he started with a laugh. aydin was right, it was hard for him to feel ashamed in the first place, but he being reminded that his brothers made the same mistakes that he did once in a while made him feel less alone in his while he was running away from responsibility as if it was plague. " imalda ? wow, consider me surprised, but i can see it, " eldar spoke as he glanced away, already imagining their wedding, his speech and the after party he would of course take full responsibility of. " shoot, i guess i'll need to cancel those nude portrait arrangements then, " he added with a chuckle as he was kidding, mostly. he did have a crazy idea to make an arrangement like that just for a laugh, but now he was not too keen to make someone aydin liked go through all of that.

CLOSED ; for @feathcrcd's ELDAR.
she feels hot to the touch. anger roiling off of her in surging waves, matching the rhythm of her elevated heart beat. her head had barely even touched the pillow before she had bolted back upright, wings trembling in rage. despite the early hours, she couldn't shake the tension from her earlier interaction with the king. she itched to kill the boy.
prescriptive labels like morning and evening meant nothing when there was rarely any sunlight to mark this. as the sky was constantly overcast with a spill of stars in the night court, honoria had little regard for time. without a second thought, she moves out of her chambers in her bed clothes and launches down the hall to eldar's chambers.
sharply, honoria brings her fist to the door in three successive knocks, holding back her strength from breaking down the door. when it came to courtly etiquette and qualms, honoria found herself turning to eldar. although he'd been a piss poor teacher, the other illyrian had been an ally during nor's early days in the court. he'd refined her from raw.
"princeling!" they yell into dark laquered wood of the door, knocking again. she only offered the courtesy of warning because the door was locked, otherwise honoria was in the fashion barging in. "wake. up."

the sunlight of summer was nearly blinding, eyes squinting each moment he turned to look outside in his search for his court, his family, his fae. he could relax just a moment after seeing for his own gaze that lux was here and unharmed. the few guards he had managed to find of dawn, he had assigned to her before he continued his search for the rest. needing, daring to hope that rest of his court were as well. the more he saw of the other courts, the fae that trickled in, saint held hope that all of his were here as well. it seemed, for once, the fates were favoring him when he finally found one. “tell me that is, in fact, you." catching the familiar face as his legs moved swiftly to meet them halfway.

⋆。°✩ amara // closed starter. @feathcrcd
the day had been filled with countless to-dos and polite smiles and various civilities that quite frankly impressed the high fae that she had managed to pull it all off. time and time again she found it difficult to bite her tongue - and that was usually with the night court's inner circle alone. now the evening, where the dusk court looked its most remarkable with an array of burnt pinks, blues and gold, amara was in desperate need of some fun. she had successfully snagged an unattended bottle of faerie wine that was guarded close to her chest as she wandered the halls, the dark crimson liquid nearly blending into the silky fabric of her dress that whispered against the stone floor beneath her. she rounded a corner and slowed her pace as she spotted a quaint terrace sheltered from the rest of the court and overlooking the city below - and a familiar fae with night black hair. eldar. amara gently opened the balcony door and leaned against its frame, her hazel eyes lighting up as she shook the bottle of wine teasingly. "is this balcony taken?"
