PLOT:

There is still a Destined Children prophecy like in the game. Galoo during her time in the orphanage foresees it, as well as what will happen if it’s ignored/not met. Susca wanted to prevent her child having to head a wholeass war, but it was also her husband’s “last wish” to fulfill the prophecy. She continued with the plans they made and hoped to arm Siren as best she could for the coming hardships.

Everyone knows not to mess with Pagoon and Pim.

Pim is also a teacher at the Garden. Gets along with Neth/they’re practically Work Wives (tho Pim is straight and Neth is still asexual, so platonic wifeys).

Siren finds out with the rest what his parents are up to and who the sorcerer is.

One scene during the break out fighting in the garden, Siren bites another person on the shoulder (always gotta have him have them sharky teeth~) and as blood is dribbling down gestures to the next person as if they’re being invited in. Person runs, horrified. Gross, but most “peaceful” method to end things immediately. Siren then has to wash his mouth out because the guy tasted like he hadn’t bathed in a week.

Stolas turned his head a whole 180 degrees to smile at Blitz behind him, then bent to drop a kiss to his forehead, still rummaging through his wardrobe all the while.

"I...I know. I believe that. But it still doesn't solve the problem of what to say. It seems silly to say "Boyfriend." I got married a week after my 18th birthday. Even as a child I never had a boyfriend. But lover....isn't that sort of all about sex? And no matter how good you are in bed, and you are amazing in bed, I think we're trying to be more than that. Now friend doesn't even begin to cover it....and partner sounds like we're opening a business...."

Stolas chattered on about various titles, but it wasn't important. He was more interested in nuzzling back against the demon behind him, enjoying the warmth of his skin, till finally he exclaimed as he pulled something out of the wardrobe. He spun around in Blitz's hold and held out a cropped black halter top that would fit blitz like a normal shirt but leave his spikes free, and a pair of itsy bitsy teeny tiny ultra short fean shorts....that would likely fit blitz more like basketball shorts.

"Will these do? Your clothes are quite muddy, and as much as I'd like to see you in absolutely nothing till they're clean...I feel our daughters might object."

Stolas knew everything there was to know about the moon. Its size, its weight, its movements in the sky. He knew exactly the wattage of light it reflected off the sun on any given night. So Stolas knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that the moon wasn't shining any brighter this evening than it had on the night of every full moon since he'd began this accursed arrangement.

So why did it feel so bright? He felt the glow of moonlight following his every step as he paced his own bedroom, talons making a soft agitated clacking on the floor. It felt like a spotlight, beaming in through the colored panels of stained glass, illuminating a different insecurity with every brilliantly lit hue its light projected onto the floor.

He heard the great clock chime in the hall. The sound made him jump. Nine pm. It was time. Any moment now, Blitz would come scampering up over the railing of his balcony, despite being told time and time again that he was free to use the front door. The back door. The side door. Any door he chose really. But Blitz was stubborn like that. It was one of the things Stolas found so endearing about him, really. He never let anyone or their lousy opinons bully him into changing....well anything. Everything Blitz did he did his way, and wholeheartedly. He was brave and so oddly compassionate and stalwart and so handsome and oh SATAN he was down bad wasn't he? And if this was it....if Blitz never spoke to him again.....he began to wring his primary feathers in anxiety as he felt himself spiraling into a deep dark pit of anxiety that had him curled up in the freezer earlier that day.

He cut off those trains of thought.

He couldn't do that. Not today. Today he had to do what was right. He had to make sure Blitz was safe...even if that meant losing the one man who'd even allowed Stolas to feel like himself.

He turned to the mirror, straightened himself up, fixed his hair, and adjusted the twisted ruffle at the bottom of one of his poet sleeved blouse. Paired with one of his simpler red waistcoats, it was a modest outfit, by his recent standards, but it fitted the way he wanted to present himself tonight; sincere.

Feeling slightly more put together and with the panic attack held at bay for the moment, Stolas made his way to the French doors that led out to his balcony, and with quiet resolve, he flung them open, stepping out of the mottled colors of the stained glass and into the cool, white, natural moonlight that bathed the whole balcony in a glow as bright as day. Any moment, the absolute love of his life would be coming over that white marble railing, likely for the last time. But he could do this. Whatever happened, he was ready. He would make this whole thing right by the light of this too bright full moon.

BL tends to have a pattern of the seme having to deal with ex-girlfriends and the uke having to deal with wanna-be boyfriends. This is to establish the romantic/sexual desirability of the character within their assigned roles. The seme is so verile and strong, women (or in rare cases ex-boyfriends if the seme is out gay) swoon all over him and never want to let him go. While the uke is so vulnerable and gentle, men who identify as strong and verile want to take care of him and pursue him.

My Lascivious Boss - has a wanna be girlfriend for the seme and a violent ex-boyfriend for the uke

Follow My Sunshine - the bad boy seme is intersted in the uke

Most Peaceful Place 2 - whole story is about the introduction of a fean fatal aggressive uke

Next week's Be Love In House is introducing a male faen fatal (we think, in the guise of the returning ex boyfriend)

If the faen fatal is given too much motivation and sympathy they become complex characters in their own right and the audience can fall in love with them. Which is kinda fun. This happened with Folk and Na. They became much greater than the sum of their faen fatal parts.

I'm enjoying Golden Blood partly because they introduced a couple of faen fatale girls for the main boys right away, but have already started to subvert that by giving the girls great personality and depth. So these girls appear to be becoming found family friendships instead. It's great and I hope the show continues to do this kind of thing.

Love Triangle vs Faen Fatal

The difference between a faen fatal and a love triangle is that the FF is introduced purely as a plot device to drive a wedge between the main couple with jealousy, and is rarely given depth of their own. (Lovely Writer's Aey is a good exception to this, he was given a lot more grace than normal, but that was kinda of LW's style and he was still basically dropped at the end.) While a love triangle treats both/all relationships as legitimately possible (by the narrative) for example Great Men Academy has a legit love triangle. So, to a certain extent, does Ossan's Love. I think Light On Me is going this direction too.

"Please one more storry! Please!" The eyes of his friends son were begging, oh, he could not say no the boy.

"Ok, ok, how about the story of how I got to know yer dad all these years ago, wouldn't that be a story worth tellin' ?" He reignited his pipe, as he looked to his old friend, a hearty grin building behind his thic beard.

"Oh yes! That sounds like, like a good story, a great story(!) doesn't it dad?" The boy cheered as he asked his father for conformation. Shaking his head, he stepped forth picked his son up, booping his nose while crushing his expectations "Sorry Fean, but it is time for bed now"

The boy, disappointed tried to pea and argue, not wanting to miss this particular story "but, but I will hear it tomorrow, will I?"

"Yes yes ye will. I'd be stain' for a we longer than just tonight if yer dad allows for it" came a quite disappointed grumble from behind the beard, as he was robbed the experience to embarrass his friend.

The kid seemed ok with the conformation he got and stopped squealing.

A little while after bringing him to bed the father joined his old friend at the hearth. In his absence the Dwarf had begun to throw some more logs in the fire, some too many, resulting in quite an inconvenience as he was currently trying not to set the carpet aflame

"You won't ever let any flame you come across untouched will you?"

Caught in the act by the cat like steath of his friend the dwarf nearly dropped a flaming log on the carpet, he could throw it back before any major damage was done but a black stain on the carpet was left behind.

"Ah shite you never stop sneakin' do ya?" With a joyfull expression he drew a pattern in the air and the blackend spot on the carpet vanished.

"No I haven't and as I see you still practise the arcane even though they outlawed it here?"

"Common a we bit of magic to spare yer wife a weeks amount of work, ain't no guard will be after me for that." He began to laugh as he sat himself in the big armchair by the fireplace, well he clibed it to be honest

"That do be true, still I don't want you in danger, not after I heared the whispers about the things you're up to. You don't want me back for any of this business do you?" Like a shadow he moved to sit in the 2nd armchair, the light and flicker of the Fire throwing shadows on his sharp facial features and the elongated ears.

"Well uhhh there have been some complications I might say" the Dwarf said, scratching his head while looking at his friend like a kid, caught hand in cookie jar after bed time "See I got the old gang back together, Fan, Thror and Ux but I'm not comfortable to do it without a pair of pointy ears."

"Well well, you got Thror out of his seaside estate? Now you have me intrigued old friend I might still have some interest in an offer of yours, if you can pay that is." ....

Santa Fe Music Week

Now in its second year, the City of Santa Fe has designated August 23–31 Santa Fe Music Week (SFMW).

SFMW opens with the Platinum Music Awards, August 23 at the Lensic. A program of the State of New Mexico, the third group of recipients come from the worlds of classical, jazz, mariachi, Native, and New Mexico folk. Concerts at The Santa Fe Opera with Ringo Starr (sold out) and Boz Scaggs are lined up for August 25 and 27. Hard choices on Sunday afternoon: Branden and James are at the Lensic and the Santa Fe Soul Festival presents God’s House Women’s Choir and operatic bass Soloman Howard at the Cathedral Basilica, both at 4 pm. Branden James, a singer whose resumé includes stints at the Metropolitan Opera and Chicago’s Lyric Opera, and James Clark, a cellist and pianist, will be familiar to some Santa Feans as they performed regularly at Vanessie a few years back while literally getting their act together. Santa Fe Soul Festival was formed to celebrate African American art forms. SFMW will present mariachis on the Plaza August 26–29 at 3 pm, and the music will continue each of those evenings plus August 24 at 5:30 pm. Check the website for updates.—Lisa J. He is everywhere... Saturday 12:30 ..

It’s been almost a week since Yousef told Sana that he wasn’t Muslim .. it was a really hard week for her .. she is sitting in her room trying to finish a paper that is due tomorrow and she can’t focus.. when the door bill rings.. she goes to open the door “Elias .. where is your k..” when she looks up and she sees him .. it’s not her brother it’s yousef she just stays still she can’t move she isn’t even wearing her Hijab .. whitch she realizes a moment later .. “fy fean ” she says closing the door ..she stays in shock for a whole minute her back leaning on the door before she starts running around trying to find it and when she finally does she puts it on as fast as she can and opens the door back .. Yousef smiles at her like he was actually afraid she wouldn’t open it again “hi ” .. she answers “hi , sorry about that I thought you were Elias ” .. “no worries… nice hair ” .. she bushes she knows her hair was too messy but still she smiles “ is he not here .. he was yelling at me 10 minutes ago because I was late ” .. “ he just went to the store to buy some stuff , he will be back ” ..Yousef says looking in Sana’s eyes “so can I wait for him? ” .. Sana closes the door a little and says “ yeah.. you can wait outside, nobody is home ” .. yousef smiles a little “Okay .. so can you come out for a moment .. just to talk? ” . Sana looks at him and thinks ‘I am gonna have to do sometime’.. “yeah sure ” .. they set on the stairs in front of the house and yousef says lookin at the ground “ so you haven’t answered me in a while .. I didn’t think you would have a problem with me not being Muslim.. but apparently you do ? ” .. Sana has always been a strong person she never felt like she couldn’t say something that’s on her mind no matter who it effected.. but this time it’s so hard for her to say what’s on her mind but she decided to say it anyway “ no Yousef of course I don’t have a problem with you not being Muslim, have you met my friends, but see I kindda.. I kindda had a crush on you , and for a second I thought it was mutual but …” he interruptes her “but it wa.. ”.. she says quality and quickly “please.. please don’t say that .. because I always thought you are nice guy and I am pretty sure you know that I can’t be with a guy who isn’t Muslim .. so I am sure you didn’t lead me on or give me false hope on purpose .. anyway I just can’t be around you as just friends.. at least for now so just maybe I just need some time ” and she is saying all that with a smile on her face but Yousef knew that deep inside she was hurting …..

“ Sana .. Yousef .. ” Noora’s sharp voice interrupted the silence “halla, what are you doing here ? ” Sana says to Noora… Noora answers “ hi , I just wanted to talk to you .. I could come back later if you are not free ” Noora says looking at Sana and then at Yousef .. “ no no come on in ,bye Yousef “she says smiling the same simle .. Yousef answers still very devastated by Sana’s speech “bye” … And she closes the door ..

“so this is what’s been going on with you .. you are in a secret relationship.. with yousef.. and you let me say to you that I like him .. and you didn’t tell me .. why didn’t you tell me .. us ?” Noora seemed very excited about the idea that Sana is in a relationship that she didn’t even notice Sana’s tears.. because right there and then Sana broke .. “I am not in a relationship with him .. I am not .. because he is not even Muslim ” she said it while crying and yelling.. this was the first time Noora sees Sana crying.. no it was the first time anyone sees Sana cry .. she never cries in front of anybody “ he is not Muslim and I didn’t know .. I let my self fall to deep and I can’t do anything about it .. yeah I am so damn lucky don’t you think .. he is everywhere and I .. I can’t take it any more ” . She just stops talking .. her face is filed with tears.. Noora hugs her friend so hard but she can’t do anything more she is just there saying it’s going to be okay ..

“I am here ” Elias gets in with Yousef.. when he sees his sister crying .. ‘she never cries ’ he thinks .. and he just goes and hugs her ..“ are you okay .. did something happen? ” .. but Sana can’t speak .. “ no no everything is fine , we were just going out ” Noora takes Sana and gets her out but before that Sana gets a look at Yousef and he is looking at her his eyes tearing a little and he looks even more broken than she is .

Work...

Monday is consistently the busiest day in the emergency room. This time of year, acuity goes up, and were short nurses and techs on a daily basis. I started my day stabilizing a septic pt. Once transferred to ICU, I got an unresponsive (that was responsive thank god), blood transfusion and A fib with RVR. It was critical day. The last four hours of my shift, they put me out at sort to triage. I feel very accomplished because they usually do not put nurses out there unless they have been there for a couple years, so I know they believe in me and feel I am competent to do so. The step in charge believes in me and has my back so I’m happy to say I think I will succeed out there, even though I am nervous as shit. 

I go back tomorrow for shift number 2 of the week. Then I will be off until the weekend but work the weekend.

On a side note, day 1 of my social media detox and I am feaning to to look at instagram and snapchat. But NO. I will stay strong. I leave for Italy next week as well!

LBBC, NOC Sign Cooperation Agreement

The Libyan National Oil Company (NOC) and the Libyan British Business Council (LBBC) have signed a statement of intent to enhance oil and gas cooperation between Libya and the UK, The Libya Herald reported.

The statement was signed by NOC Chairman Sanalla and LBBC Chairman Sir Vincent Fead during an event hosted by LBBC.

LBBC prioritizes areas to include technical training,  advanced technology, restoring production at damaged sites and mature field management with the aim of maintaining the NOC’s record of current production to over 1.2 million barrels per day (b/d).

The two had previously discussed cooperation at a meeting in Aberdeen on May 8.

“The many meetings over the last couple of days highlighted strong links that have been established between the UK’s oil production, services and education and training companies with the NOC and its operating companies. I am delighted to see some practical and constructive results from these meetings, cementing lasting partnerships – a genuine win-win,” LBBC chairman Sir Vincent Fean said.

NOC chairman Mustafa Sanalla added, “The meetings in Aberdeen, in May, and this week in Tunis, have shown that the UK is a key partner for Libya in boosting oil production. I welcome the LBBC’s efforts and look forward to further progress in building and strengthening this partnership.”

Deputy head of Libya’s Presidency Council Ahmed Maetig said that there will be real investments into Libya not dependant on the state budget.

He added that the government prioritises the oil sector and has allocated more than 40% of the 2017-18 development budget to ensure production capacity increases.

But look, I’ve been struggling to find a gender neutral term for the femme fatale (or homme fatal) trope in BL. 

This is when the story introduces a character whose sole purpose is to drive a wedge between the main BL pair. Often an ex-girlfriend (for the seme) or a new flirty boy (for the uke).

VAUDEVILLE AT THE LENSIC

Depression-era Santa Feans flocked to the Lensic after its 1931 opening for vaudeville shows featuring singers, dancers, magicians, and acrobats. Although vaudeville was waning in the ’30s as “talking pictures” ascended, the ornate Lensic hosted many of the traveling variety shows. Judy Garland, Rudy Vallee, and Rita Hayworth all performed on the Lensic’s stage in those early years. Playwright and director Ron Bloomberg and the Lensic present Vaudeville 2 this week in a return to earlier times. Building on the success of last summer’s show, Bloomberg and crew present local luminaries singing, dancing, and making merry. Expect a barbershop quartet, some UnReal Housewives, and a star turn by Joel Aalberts, executive director of the Lensic.—Lisa J. Van Sickle
