this is probably random as hell but i wanted to tell you that i really admire all the work you put into mayfly!

all the art is sooo beautiful and the way you write everyone is great, and it's so cool to me that you're able to commit to something like this and see it through. your love for mp100 really shines through (and cough. the shimamine is nice too heheh i can't wait for more of that too)

starrrr thank you so much... in particular it makes me so happy that it encourages you to work on your own projects. i honestly NEVER thought mayfly would turn into something this big and dedicated. i never thought i could do it.

and it's a drug!! being able to do it is like... exhilarating. and no matter how many times i get frustrated or stuck i cannot stay away for long. so like if you have any passion project you wanna do i fully hope you dive in headfirst, i cant wait to see what you do with it 💘

OUGHH theres so many fics and comics i wanna read for sakuyama specifically but i dont speak a word of japanese… im tempted to try but i always struggle learning new languages, but i guess thats the challenge!

honestly do it. like just do it. there's like zero shame in just smacking it in a translator and reading it like that, and trying to investigate parts that are confusing.

if you wanna put more effort then read it paragraph by paragraph and try to match the words/grammar aspects between the two.

i find it's always easier to pick things up when they're part of something you want to read anyway. but there's not necessarily pressure to sweat the details if you just want to follow the gist of the story

i think trying to read pixivfic or translate comics has helped me pick up just as much as sitting down with kanji and vocab lists. or at least gives me a place to test my memory organically
