awww, ofc annabelle <3333 I love your stuff so much and ty for tagging me in them too!! and yessss exactly! like people get too wrapped up in romantic love on shows and assume when we say klayley loved each other we mean romantically but it's not true it doesn't have to be romantic to be real as much as I would've liked to see them together I was so happy to see their relationship and dynamic grow and change like it changed so much from season 1 and anyone that thinks they didn't love each other platonically are deluded lol he freaking cried over her letter and when he carved her name into the tree and her telling him she won't give up on him? SWOON!!!! I love so many romantic ships but people get super defensive when we say klayley loved each other and idk why when they were never going to get together because the writers were terrified to go there but they loved each other as friends and partners and co parents to hope it was real <3 this got long lol but as disappointed as I am they never got a real chance I'm so happy they cared enough about them to develop their dynamic and have it be so beautiful in the end!!

Exactly? Jennifer had an amazing performance as Katniss. But Katniss shouldn’t have been white! I do want to say Suzanne Collins made sure to specify what race Rue was but Katniss is described as olive tone skin -_-!

as a steroline shipper this angers me so much tbh because like caroline and damon's bond is nonexistent, there is no justifying having your r*pist officiate the wedding because he's the brother of the groom (whose life he also ruined repeatedly), i just.... ugh. yet again the writers completely misrepresenting damon as a person.

Honestly! I hated how they basically treated Care’ rightful hatred of Damon as petty. And the fact that they had them have some sort of “friendship” in the later seasons (as if sc couldn’t happen while still having care hate damon). Also the cuddling in the finale 🤢🤢🤢🤢. I just don’t like the fact that he never even apologized for raping her (not that it would make up for it but still). Ik I’m getting off topic but I just don’t like them.

Agreed. I mean I do think that dullena in the earlier seasons was based on attraction (and selfishness), but to say that she was more attracted to him than Stefan is bullshit. And about the SE part, even tho I love them, there are valid reasons to dislike them, but when some de’ers criticize SE, it’s so hard to take them srsly. Especially when they fangirl I’ve Damon manhandling Elena in 2x10 and gush on and on about “protective Damon” and then being “an old married couple” or when Damon forcefeeds blood down Elena’s throat in 2x21 (I think), they go on how much he luvvvvs her and would do anything for her. If that’s the case, maybe he should idk not treat her like a stupid child

it's wild to me how kc fans expect klaroline to prioritize a past brief relarionship/flirtation over their separate children/families which are clearly a priority to them. i love their interactions in the originals (because i ship them obvs) but it was fantastic and realistic and right how they didn't just run off into the sunset together completely reckless like fandom seemed to expect them to. (also i always disliked the fact that people will hate hope and caroline's twins for simply existing as if every single character should be expendable to serve the kc agenda lol).

and can we just talk about the fact that tyler had to leave caroline - he had to, for his own sanity (which kc fans berated him for because pursuing vengeance for your dead mother is somehow a terrible thing to do i guess?), which is what made the forwood breakup so great and in character even if it hurt like hell as a shipper. caroline made peace with klaus's arrival into mf, all that happened afterwards, whatever weird friendship dynamic they had (enough to invite him to MF which was great for me because i like him even though it was also weird that klaus and stefan would have more of a desire to go to high school graduation than tyler, a literal eighteen year old boy who has his whole life ahead of him, and rebekah, who never got to experience graduation ONCE as opposed to stefan's pathetic ass who attended graduation needlessly like. 17 times), and even grew to accept and like him to some extent, but tyler on the other hand was thoroughly ruined by klaus, and he can't just accept and move on the way caroline did after he was victimized. it was important to him to reclaim agency and get real closure, for klaus to have comeuppance, and i love that for his character!

but also people act like he just heartlessly left caroline without a goodbye when that is clearly not true. it deeply hurt him to have to leave her behind which was why he paused when she asked him not to leave!!!!!!! he wanted to give her a magical college dance and spend time together and reinforce their bond but this is clearly a priority for him. he needs to live his life without 'permission' from klaus, his tormenter and oppressor, and people tend to villify him for this. from caroline's perspective it also makes sense that she feels abandoned and hurt because a lot of her insecurities come from being 'left.' and this is a recurring pattern for forwood which is what adds to their angst and tragedy - tyler keeps having to leave her (s2, s3, and now in s5), but he always comes back, and he leaves for both their benefit/to preserve their relationship.

Yes like if I never watched tvd and didn’t know the actual context, I'd think that Tyler left left without a word and caroline just fucked some random guy and that that's what he was mad about. I mean it still baffles me to this day that he gets shat on for choosing his MOTHER and FREEDOM over care. I mean don't get me wrong, I felt bad for her and my heart broke for her, but Tyler was not in the wrong for wanting his abuser to pay. I mean he killed him, forced him to be a hybrid, made him do things he didn't want to do, killed his MOTHER (his only family he had left), killed his pack, and ran him out of town and he's just supposed to be okay with that because he chose not to be petty for a day. As Caroline would say: "seriously". Honestly you can feel bad for care without shitting on Tyler. Tbh what I find interesting about the forwood conflicts is that I can see both sides and understand them (expect for 2 of their conflict but that's a whole other story). And I also hate when kc'ers bring up that "he's always leaving her" because that's not true and they don't even look at context. The first time, they weren't exactly on the best of terms and he was just respecting her space, the second time he left to break the sirebond, the third time he didn't even have a choice. Like Klaus FORCED him out of town for shits and giggles. And the last time he left to AVENGE HIS MOTHER. Like honestly Ty can't catch a break from parts of the fandumb.

DE shippers will literally be like "stefan wanted to erase his memories of elena in a moment of weakness because the end of their relationship caused him pain that was difficult to process wow he doesn't love her AT ALL" and then continue to ship dullena even though elena literally did the EXACT SAME THING in s6 because damon's loss caused her pain she couldn't cope with as well?

like personally i don't particularly care for either ship but it's basically the same situation which is why the double standard DE fans have is so weird. imo there are more legitimate reasons to hate on SE but this doesn't really prove their "stelena is awful de is awesome" argument

Like honestly de'ers are just ugh. It's rlly hard to take them srsly. Like I don't even hate the ship, it's too much of a joke for me to even hate. And as for the stefan part, rewatching I do understand the criticism of his treatment of elena but de'ers are not one to talk. I mean I do agree that he slutshamed elena but damon was the one being gross to her so it's not exactly a plus for them either. And back when I was a de shipper, I used to be upset about the memory wipe but now I actually think it's the first smart thing she did as a vampire. And even tho I love stelena, I can understand some of the criticism but when de stans moan on about stefan being bad to elena, it's like....damon was no better. I don't even hate him anymore (mostly love-hate; it's complicated) but srsly just stop justifying his abuse of elena.

i feel like as a klaroline and an anti klaroline duo we totally agree on the fact that CAROLINE DOES NOT EXIST TO BE KLAUS'S REDEMPTION PET/'make klaus a better person like elena did to damon' (i saw that post about a de saying this and rolled my eyes so hard) and that it is not her duty? and the appeal of KC to me at least was tlhat caroline actively refused to be reduced to a redemption pet or be responsible for klaus's change and growth, that klaus needed to do that on his own (and imo he truly did even though there were clearly abusive elements in his interactions with other characters - which is pretty much the standard for any white male character under JP's jurisdiction because like THERE WAS NO NEED FOR KLAUS TO BE SO EXTREME AND VIOLENT, only serve his purpose as a villain by being morally corrupt/dubious in an enjoyable way like in the originals or tvd s3 - even though he was fucking up tyler's life i still found his actions fascinating and clearly wrong and also tolerable because klaus makes no pretense of being a 'good guy'/tyler and other characters and the narrative in general call him out).

i'm sorry i went off on a tangent but my point is that caroline makes it unrepentantly clear that her agency and her own priorities COME FIRST and she's not going to take the blame if klaus goes ballistic in her name and kills people. she asserts this to klaus which is important to me. it's what made all the difference between d*lena and kl*roline for me even though they're both super fucked up. but the fact that people think caroline should prioritize the mental instability of a 1000 year old love interest over her own health is... yikes. why do people think that's romantic??

No It’s fine! I love responding to asks but yeah tbh I’ve never understood the whole Klaus changed for Care shit (I’m pretty sure Ty and Bex would disagree with that). I feel like if anyone inspired him to be better, I was Cami, Hayley, Hope, and his family. And honestly, it’s not a woman’s job to change a man, they have to want to be better on their own. And tbh even tho I hate kc, I love when Care bashes him (mostly because I couldn’t stand him at that point but that’s just me). But honestly, I never understood how some kc fans (not you) claim to be fans of both characters but expect them to choose each other over THEIR OWN KIDS. Like seriously, but then again, they also criticize Tyler for leaving to avenge his own mother but that’s not the point here.
