Incoming rant about The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Herlock Sholmes from The Great Ace Attorney, and the BBC Sherlock (no major spoilers ahead I promise).
A preface before I begin; I was never a big fan of Sherlock Holmes or any adaptation of the stories. I've seen Elementary although I was very young so I only have the vaguest of memories of enjoying it, and my roommate had me watch a couple BBC Sherlock episodes when I was a tween/young teen. My mother claims she tried to get me into Sherlock Holmes but I'm rather skeptical. Anyhow, onto the story.
Back in March my boyfriend bought me the Ace Attorney games for my birthday which included the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (or Dai Gyakuten Saiban for those who are still stuck on the pre-localization names ;p). I was on my flight home from my birthday trip after I got the news my manager fired my brother while I was out of the state and figured why not, I'd start playing the first TGAA game on the flight. I'd probably enjoy myself and I couldn't sleep.
Second biggest mistake of the year (first biggest was trusting Les Schwab to do my brake job). I. Was. Hooked. I played the first case and fell in love with Kazuma instantly (he's so Zero shaped!). I played the second case and realized that calling him Zero shaped was way too accurate. We all know what happened there. Most important to this rant, I met Herlock Sholmes (more on my opinions on him later). I could barely put the game down but I had to take a break due to finding a new job and getting adjusted. I ended up finishing the game in June or July, one of the two. I finished the final case of the first game in one long 12 hour gaming session it was that good (my back didn't thank me though).
Now, the man of the hour: Herlock Sholmes. I didn't think much of him initially. He was simultaneously charming and annoying in the second case but as I played more he grew on me. I cried when the start of 1-5 happened. He clawed his way up into like the top 7 favorite characters at the time. The ending of the game with him playing his violin made me bawl my eyes out. I. Loved. This. Game.
It took a few more months to start and finish the second game. In between Adventures and Resolve I played Skyward Sword, Minish Cap, and some others so I had a healthy break. I came back to play Resolve and finished it like two months ago. It hit me in the gut just as hard as the first game did although there are a great many things I'd tweak and do differently. But Herlock Sholmes... man, he's not my favorite but he's up there underneath Kazuma and Van Zieks.
Anyhow, I finished the game but the hyperfixation had started and would not let me go. I've never been one to go out and seek fanfiction due to... personal stuff but I had a feeling I didn't want to go probe the depths of AO3 yet for fear of crying. I started a graveyard shift at my job which severely limited my ability to talk with people about stuff and also there's so many major spoilers but very few people I knew had played the game. A thought occurred to me, however. What about Sherlock Holmes audiobooks? I have an auditory processing issue which has made listening to audiobooks hard but I decided to give it a go. Perhaps it would satiate the TGAA hyperfixation hunger.
I found the ones produced by Magpie Audio, expertly narrated by Greg Wagland. Go check him out, he has over 77 videos of Sherlock Holmes audiobook recordings and all of them are a minimum of 40 minutes, often times far more. I went through over 30 hours of audiobook in a few weeks listening to these. Sherlock Holmes is such a good character and I can understand how and why he took late Victorian England by storm. And you know what the best part is?
Herlock Sholmes is the most faithful adaptation I have personally seen as a character of the original Sherlock Holmes.
They got so many of Sherlock's little idiosyncrasies right and you can tell the entire team were genuine fans of the books. I listened to Mr. Wagland's narration *and I saw 221B Baker of the games*. Especially the jack knife impaling the communications to the mantle being referenced in the game? The sheer mess of the flat? It's so good!
My roommate (whom is also a Sherlock Holmes fan) noticed my newest hyper fixation that spawned off of TGAA and that reignited his Sherlock Holmes obsession. He was a fan of the BBC Sherlock and now recognizes it was not a very great show but it's a comfort media for him nonetheless. He just dragged me into rewatching it and... okay, it's playing into a lot of inaccurate Sherlock tropes I don't like but goddamn Martin Freeman carries the whole show. I love his John Watson because it feels like a reasonable version of a modern, younger Watson. He feels real in a way. I do like the fact that even in the first episode, it's established that John and Sherlock can make each other laugh and smile just like in the books. I don't forgive them calling Sherlock a sociopath, however (speaking as someone with a brother that has been diagnosed with being a high-fuctioning sociopath). He's AuDHD to the max and deserves recognition in that department.
All of this to say, I can trace my current Sherlock hyperfixation back to Mega Man. Finding Mega Man in 4th grade led to watching the Ace Attorney anime in late 2021 which led to playing The Great Ace Attorney and that led to listening to Sherlock Holmes. I don't know why I decided to make this post but maybe I might start live blogging this shit? All in all, this is going to be a wild ride.

7, 16, 21, 25 :3 for aa lol
🔥 choose violence ask game 🔥
7. What character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
I think this is Klavier for me. To be clear I already didn't really like him in the base canon, but I think this is also because I expected far more of him because of fanon lol. He really ain't shit and it does kind of boggle me that he's SO fucking popular when he's like. this cardboard man.
Now I'm all about adding way more meaning to characters who I think can have way more depth than they do in canon, and Klavier is ripe for the picking there because he IS an interesting guy conceptually, but I don't... like what people do with his character. I kinda just don't get it. Like when I see fanart of him, esp. Kla-pollo art, it doesn't seem like him. It's like he's a different guy. I do not know this man. He's not cringefail and dry enough LOL. And I'm tired of seeing him shoehorned in everywhere.
16. You can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
I don't want to complain about Klavier again, so... well with canon I really don't get why people like AA4 so much but I know that's not what the question is asking LMAO. It's more about the fandom than anything.
Here's one. I don't get how a lot of the fandom characterizes Nahyuta. And it's because he's very unpopular and people hate on him, so they make him out to be way worse than he is. Like, he is NOT a very good person but I feel like it gets to a point where people make shit up about him to get mad about, or read everything he does in the most bad faith way possible. Like saying he was intentionally trying to trigger Athena, or that he's horrible to Ema because he expects her to follow his own (insane and unhealthy, admittedly) work pace.
That's not him. I know him and he's not doing it out of malice. He's just a freak LOL. People love mischaracterizing him because they do not like him.
21. Part of canon you think is overhyped
Bearing in mind I love the original trilogy, I do think it's a little overhyped compared to the AJ trilogy. People act like DD and SOJ are monstrous compared to the original trilogy and I'm like... nottt really? The scale is bigger but I don't feel like they're meaningfully all that much different compared to the original trilogy.
I also think TGAA 1 is overhyped only if you view it and 2 as separate games. If you recognize they're a single game split in two (ala LOTR being split into three but is a single book) it explains a lot of the issues. I love TGAA 1 but its cases are a little all over the place or too slow for me. Great game though.
25. Common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing
I think this is an obvious answer knowing me but I'm sick to bastard death of listening to people talk shit on SOJ. I fucking love SOJ, it's still my top AA game that isn't TGAA. Like it has some major writing issues but what's there is legitimately so great. The most stacked cast in any AA game. Not a single bad character, not a SINGLE bad case (though the fourth one is getting there plot-wise, but the character interactions are terrific), super fun worldbuilding even if some of it is goofy. Like AJ's backstory is goofy but I LIKE it. It's the most cohesive backstory he has so far and I love his connection to Nahyuta.
Khura'in is such a special place and the Khura'inese cast is spectacular, truly spectacular. They're all my top favorite characters in the entire series.
More specifically, I'm sick to death of people bitching about Nahyuta. He's definitely underwritten and he needed to be more present in the trials because I actually DO feel like his voice is missing a little from these cases, but he's a fucking shining star. My favorite character in the series. I think his concept is brilliant and he's got a terrific design, too. I find him infinitely compelling and so fun to explore in writing.

Stickers by Halmistax on Redbubble and NoodlesAndTeaShop on Etsy!! Christmas and assorted stickers are from the store Daiso
I think its so funny that Ace Attorney is a shocking mystery game not just because of how the cases play out, but also because the dialogue is so insane . Like what do you mean Phoenix used to tip cows and Edgeworth has a chess set that is specifically modeled after himself and Phoenix
Typed out writing!

Game Dev Notes
Really great art, style, and animations - very unique
limited music, no character themes
new case as a bonus for the DS edition at the time
iconic quotes and cases - referenced every year
love the resolution of the characters in the credits
last case introduced 3D investigation - really fun and loved
incredible character design and emotional growth
Summary: What an incredibly start to a series. I completely understand why people love Ace Attorney so much. Amazing characters and development, great and insane humor, blatant homoeroticism, and well thought out mysteries. Although it's not to the scale of TGAA, you can see all the major inspiration TGAA took from just the first game. I believe AA1 would be just as phenomenal as TGA if it had all of the same resources. I absolutely love these characters, they have so much personality and Capcom really knows how to utilize humor. The relationship between Phoenix and Miles is great. They complement each other so well and learn to embrace each other's passion to create such a beautiful duo. They are the lawyers to be feared because they will stop at nothing to discover the truth. They're also so in love with each other and they're not subtle about it. I loved each case as they really highlighted everyone's personality and motivation/ The discovery of Edgeworth's past and how Phoenix helped him, hell, saved him and shaped him to pursue a future filled with integrity. The art is so amazing. The switch version doesn't have the pixel art but for such an older game, the art is incredible. There's limited music and there's a lot of running around but the charm of the characters and great mysteries is what boosted the score. I am so excited to play more of these games and meet some of the fan favorite characters. The AA community is so talented and loving. I am so happy to be here!

(oml okay so I know you answered my Great Ace Attorney ask like. three weeks ago at this point, but I'm finally getting around to writing a response. I hope you remember what you talked about or can find that ask again alskdfgjfkd I'm so sorry-) First of all, OLIVE IS SUCH A GREAT FAVORITE CHARACTER YOU HAVE IMMACULATE TASTE!!! I felt SO bad for her oh my god, the moment where she tried to poison herself... holy shit it hit. it hit so hard, it's probably one of the darkest and most depressing moments in the game (and lord knows there's so much heavy shit in this game). 💔 TGAA does a lot of subversions from the main AA series, but I loved how she was an (attempted) culprit but also her "victim" was a culprit as well... it's utterly fascinating, I loved what they did with her character and 2-2 in general. She's one of the most realistic and grounded and subtle characters in the game imo, like she feels so normal: she's depressed, and she's bitter, and hateful, but not too hateful, and still sweet despite all of that... I loved her a lot, I want to give her a hug 😭🥹💔 the scene where she thanks Ryuu for helping her get closure was so touching, it made me cry. 💚 I was also really fascinated by her relationship with Shamspeare, or at least his reaction to her, considering that he didn't have any idea of her existence until the trial (I love him too, he's SUCH an interesting character)?? Idk I just think there's so much potential for their interactions post-series, though to be fair I say that about so many characters in this game alsdfjgkfld there's just so much juicy potential for character dynamics... Susato and Yuujin are DEARS, I love them so much 😭🥹💖 It makes me really sad we don't get practically any Susato & Kazuma & Yuujin family content.... I'm forever mad that their (+ Ryuu's) grief over his assumed death is so glossed over, I really feel like Kazuma desperately needed more screentime in the second game where he was allowed to just... be more vulnerable around them and get some sort of emotional catharsis, instead of just being his emo self the whole time :' ) 🫠 it's not bad by any means, I just think he needed so much more. Cause YEAH, his breakdown fucked me up too, it's my favorite scene of his cause it's really the only scene where we get a true taste of how much pain he's bottling up inside UGH. We needed more Mikotoba family scenessssss (seriously, Yuujin doesn't even react at all to hearing that he's alive again and it pisses me off!!! Like that's his adopted son of his dead best friend!!!)
(re: Kazuma though, my favorite Kazuma relationship is actually him and Nikomina from 1-2, or rather, hypothetical relationship. I wrote a fic about them actually lol I just want them to be brother and sister so bad okay :' ) maybe it makes no sense to anyone other than me lol but I need her to know he's aliiiiiive 😭🥺 he treated her so kindly... my heart)
Barok is wonderful, by far my favorite of the main characters and imo has the best written arc of them. He needs a damn HUG and we were robbed of seeing him smile at the end 😭💔 he makes my heart ache godddddd. Van Zieks brothers make me weep. Barok and Iris make me weep *sobs*
As for Graydon...... ahaha how do I even describe it. To be honest my thoughts on him could fill an entire essay; I'm actually responsible for a lot of posts and content about him on tumblr prior to the release of the localization a;lsdfjgkfdls (though under his Japanese name, Rupert Chrogray, which I prefer because I'm a snob lol), he occupied my brain for at least a year after I played the first game, and I still love him to death. He's just a really, really beautiful and complex character to me despite only being in one case... his story is so incredibly tragic, but realistic, and relatable, and so sympathetic to me, not to excuse his actions but he really does break my heart so, so much. I love the hints of characterization we get with him and his father, with him and the brothers, and I also ADORE thinking about his potential relationship with Gina, because they're foils to each other. I think he has SO MUCH POTENTIAL for a redemption arc after the first game, because imo he really is not a bad person deep down, and could change for the better if he's just given the chance to. I just love him sooooo much, I've written a few fics about him lol and I've delved into the Japanese fan content for him because I just need so much more alsdjfgkfld, he's such a beautiful character to me; he's so human, and flawed, and contradictory, but contradictory in a way that makes so much sense and is so well executed. Honestly he could have his own game/media all on his own imo, that's how powerfully well-written he is in such a short amount of time.
And OMG THAT ART OF IRIS AND KYOUKA IS SO ADORABLE AND WHOLESOME, thank you for drawing it 😭🥺💖🐇 my precious girls ✨
HI I'M SO SORRY. I read this ages ago and then just. Never responded. I have no idea why.
I totally agree that one of the things that makes Chronicles so fun is the way you only get a little of most of the trial-only characters, and yet there's so much there as a foundation to play around with! Olive is a great example of that! I love that you wrote about Nikomina and Graydon! I checked out the Nikomina one but still need to go through your Chrogray stories; I'm sure they're just as good a read :)
I really love it when people enjoy the minor or one-off characters. Nikomina really should get to know that Kazuma lived... that'd be a world of guilt off her shoulders, poor girl. It was an accident... I stick to my headcanon that Sholmes told her at some point.
I do agree that the second game kind of was a whirlwind. I imagined a lot of stuff was happening off-screen that we didn't see, especially with regards to the lingering grief concerning Kazuma. I do kind of wish we'd gotten a little less mystery over Yuujin and a little more just getting to be around the man and getting to know him. His story was just really impactful to me. I adore him so much.
I also have some mixed feelings regarding leaving Kazuma somewhat alone in London without his friends at the end of the game... while I don't really see how else it could've ended (it's more realistic; they can't stay in London forever; Kazuma was the one actually supposed to be on exchange), I can't help but feel concerned over him having very little support after a major breakdown/situation that exposed nearly all of his trauma, and still pretty much on that single-minded drive, just in a different, slightly healthier direction (so he can find himself/challenge Naruhodou). I'll be honest, it's now been awhile since I've played the game and I played it late at night so I don't actually recall the ending in detail - it's possible there's something I forgot about here that changes the context a little. I mean, at least we know Sholmes and Iris are going to look out for him...
Also I am a firm believer in post-canon Kazuma and Van Zieks worsties. They can't forgive each other, they begrudgingly understand each other, they can trust the other with pursuing justice, they are petty little shits to each other...
I also like the idea of Sholmes looking out for Kazuma in his own annoying way, and just coming across as... annoying, lol, while Iris keeps finding reasons to "mysteriously" cross paths with Van Zieks, so he cannot shake this weird, genius little pink child. The doors to the prosecutor's office open and the both of them just go "oh no", and then glare at each other because how dare they have the same thought at the same time ahjsbfvsjdfh
Anyways. They're funny to me. Part of me is happy where the story leaves off, and part of me wants a Kazuma Asougi Investigations game, with Van Zieks, Gina, Sholmes, and Iris. (...I actually came up with a rough outline for that very concept... it's a bit self-indulgent though and I have enough projects started... maybe I'll get to it someday... it's actually more like parallel Kazuma-Susato investigations lol)
Sorry again for this woefully delayed response... :/

For ao3 wrapped: 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 28, 29, 30 (you don't have to do all of them if that's too many!)
Already answered 28 + 30! Here are the rest ~under the cut~ Thanks for asking! I had fun going over my works from this year, wide array that they were.
5. What work of yours got more feedback than expected? I guess my fic about Terry, “Case Closed”? Since it focuses on my headcanon of him being aroace and thereby sinking any hope of shipping him with Alice in it, I didn’t there’d be much interest (since he is so pined after by the fanbase). But I’m glad people liked it and liked my interpretation of him.
6. Favorite title you used. Is it cheating to say “Truth or Dairy”, which I haven’t posted yet? Because fuck that’s funny (cuz Ashley is a milkman in this AU so GET IT haha). Shout out to “Fate Like a Promise, Fate Like a Cage” though, which @lemon-teacake coined, not I. But that led to our beloved fic being named “LIAM FLAPFLAC”, after its working title was “Love is a Murderer” + what the title then became.
10. What work was the quickest to write? I mean I wrote my Vanlock fic, which is 19k over the course of September. Exactly a month. Which is fast for me. Like it just came pouring out of me, completely unexpected. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. 11. What work took you the longest to write? “Crossfire” as it was a combination of writing characters I hadn’t before (or, hadn’t written as main characters before) in Bridget/Archie, plus being insanely distracted by wanting to binge-play Rune Factory x’D
12. How man WIP’s do you have in you docs for next year? LMAO I mean, I have several zine pieces alone, but outside of those, I definitely want to finish a few TGAA WIPs. Mainly my Nikolina gen, my GenBaro fic, and some sequels to “Truth or Dairy”. I’m sure I’ll try mixing some Basterds and RF in there as well.
16. What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag? I think??? (thus far) it’s Established Relationship since both my Reinhard/Alice fics and both my Landstrom fics use that tag. 17. Your favorite character to write this year?
I really liked writing Barok – this was my first time doing so, and I didn’t have trouble with it at all, to be honest. I feel his voice fits my style. 18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year? Writing Bridget in “Crossfire” was a bit difficult. It was set in Canon Divergent AU so I had to factor the situation at hand into how she would interact with Archie, plus I had to sort out a lot of my headcanons for her, too. But I’m happy with how the fic ended up.
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? The first chapter of “Blank Slate” I feel is really strong on both my end and lemon’s end. And I mean out of ALL the Landstrom stuff I’ve written, this is some of The Best, and I like this part because I love to make them miserable. (or maybe I’m just partial to angsty tragic ghost AUs teehee) “Hans, you need to get out of here; stop von Hammersmark and the Basterds!” Hellstrom spits, as if Hans doesn't already know this. “Stop wasting your fucking time digging through my uniform. This is to save the Führer, to protect the Reich! Who cares about me?!” With nothing and no one else to hear him, Hans has no shame in replying, “I do.” The words have barely left Hans's lips before they're lost, pressed back by Hellstrom's mouth on his. A wicked chill enters him, fills him from head to toe and sharp enough to bring tears to his eyes. And then he's being moved, bodily, something having taken hold of his uniform by the lapels and forcing him to his feet. Not something. Someone. It's so rare that Hellstrom doesn't argue with or dismiss anything Hans has to say in regards to what they have—had—that Hans knows its his way of accepting this simple, but loaded, admission. “Then get out of here.” There's no longer venom in his tone; it's almost a plea, and there's no one else Hellstrom would voluntarily exhibit such vulnerability around. “Don't let all my efforts go to waste, if you care so fucking much.” On the word care, his voice breaks a little. Something in Hans's chest breaks a lot.

#365DaysOfVGM Day 150:
Pursuit ~ Time for a Great Turnabout! (Dai Gyakuten Saiban/The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures [2015])
I was going to push this track to a different Day until finishing the game, for the scenario where I end up preferring a different track from this game more than the one featured today, but the more I look at my backlog of games before it, the more I realize it’ll mess with the randomized order too much if I keep pushing this track beyond its intended date. So, here it is, the only concrete thing I know about The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles!
Luckily, I’m a fan of what the Ace Attorney franchise has provided so far, and only have the Professor Layton crossover and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles left to finish someday, both purchased long in advance! So that also means I have something to say here despite not playing TGAA yet!
If you loved the iconic “Pursuit ~ Corner the Culprit” track of the very 1st game, this one takes a lot of cues from that for the beginning, but is overall slower to great effect. Those heavy Horns are my personal highlight, they give this track a stand-out flair not often seen in the franchise up to this point, as do those oh-so dramatic Violins that enhance the mood of each section they’re featured in! 30 seconds in is where the beginning ends, moving to a completely new section that also happens to be my favorite, since that’s where both aforementioned instruments get used the most!
I can only imagine what awaits me as I plan to tackle this game after Professor Layton VS Phoenix Wright. Will I love it like others do, or not? That’s a case yet to be solved, don’t you think?
(Length: Nearly 1.5 minutes)

have you played the tgaa games? if not I will ask you about mia fey and your General Thoughts (I don't want to end up spoiling you if you haven't experienced them)
I played the first case of tgaa and just. Haven’t gotten around to the others? Eventually I will! But not yet. Thank you for keeping me spoiler free, that was very kind of you!
So about mia fey. Oh, mia fey my beloved. I really do love her character. I’m watching my dad play through the games for the first time and honestly it’s such a treat to re-experience mia knowing all of her backstory and what happens to her. Starting with the basics here, I absolutely adore her relationship with maya. As someone with a sibling I usually don’t enjoy most of the sibling dynamics I see in the media, but this one? Beautiful. 10/10. Mia leaves kurain village to study to become a lawyer and so easily could’ve cut contact with maya and her spirit channeling past altogether, but she stays in close contact with maya, going as far as to invite her out to dinner with her newest rookie lawyer apprentice. The way maya and phoenix always ask themselves what mia would do when they’re unsure because she’s just such a supportive person to everyone she meets and she genuinely wants her colleagues and family to succeed in life. She supports them even from the grave.
And I am so glad she didn’t fall into the trap of just being the smart supportive girl trope. You know the one, where their only character traits are that they root for the protagonist and are smart. Mia? She’s a sassy little shit. You get a glimpse of that in the first game, shes just constantly done with phoenix’s bullshit and makes little jabs at him in between her sage advice. I love that she named her office plant Charley, I love that she never learns Larry’s actual name. God one of my favorite cases in all of the trilogy is the terry fawles case because getting to see a younger mia is SUCH a treat!!! She’s so much more smarmy than she appears when you first meet her! “We know whose milkshake brings all the boys to the yard is an actual line of dialogue she says!! Who else would have the balls to think that in court??
Apart from her wonderful personality, I really like the justice they gave to her. Specifically with her death. It would have been easy to have phoenix and maya solve the case, for them to avenge her and carry on her legacy, but NO, in the end it’s mia herself that catches redd white and intimidates him into confessing his crimes. She had a goal, and even death couldn’t stop her from completing it. She’s who tells phoenix to turn over the receipt, she’s who gets channeled and stares down redd white. Her ending is entirely her own and I absolutely love that for her.
I also really enjoy her relationship with diego. Like this was such a healthy couple before all the dahlia stuff happened. It’s tricky to build chemistry between two characters when they’re only in one case and only pictured in a courtroom, where the goal is focused on the court plot, but it’s so clear they were incredibly in love. Godot’s dialogue later supports that but this ain’t about him. Mia hadn’t seen him in years and he looked nothing like himself, but she still managed to recognize and get through to him, across a courtroom, after so many years of anguish and being apart. Like that’s love babey. It’s just really really cute. She and lana definitely fucked but I will never not love the diego relationship.
Her dynamic with phoenix is one of my favorites in the game. It’s so obvious what traits of hers rubbed off on him, the determination, the mottos, the way they carry themselves in court. The raw, unbridled relief they have in their clients until the very very end. Like it’s so clear how close they were. Still are, technically, considering how much mia has to come back and help him and maya out. I also really love the plothole of how her spirit channeling works? Like officially the lore is that when the spirit is channeled, they think that they’ve just died and have no recollection of the afterlife. There’s no lore that states they can hold consciousness and be able to watch over the living world even after they’ve been channeled. They’re supposed to just. Be suspended in death. But not mia! Mia somehow knows everything going on, she’s not fazed at all during her channeling. Maybe it has to do with being in maya's body most of the time? Maybe maya and pearl are sharing their thoughts with her? But like that’s not how it was when maya was kidnapped, maya had to leave a note for mia to understand what was going on. So what I like to imagine is that mia’s bond with her living friends and family is just so strong that is breaks the barrier of death, it shatters the suspension spirits are left in so that she may watch over her dear legacies and be ready to help them when they need. She’s just that cool.
Thank you for the ask!!! I love mia I love her backstory I love her huge continuous impact on everyone throughout the games this woman doesn’t go away and that is SO good for her skfjdbdbdk anyway if y’all want to send me more ace attorney asks please do!!! I will answer them :))

starting off by saying 6-5 is officially my all time favorite ace attorney case. by far. hands down. It. It really had everything. And i'm sooooo. AAOARUORURUGHGh about it
also, Spirit of Justice as a whole is officially tied with Dual Destinies for my top favorite AA game. I couldn't possibly pick between the two because I adore them both for very different reasons but I just. god. I love them. I LOVE this game i love this game SO MUCH you guys oh my godddddddd. Even through all the pain and suffering and agony (which is a major reason why i like it so much to begin with) it was SO fun. there wasn't a single case that i struggled to get through because they all are so gripping and had me so interested in everything happening the entire time. just. WAAAAUUGH.
i still have the DLC case to play, so it's not over yet! And after 6-DLC i'll be starting the TGAA/DGS duology!
but for now.....
[WAILS SO FUCKING LOUDLY]

for the ask game 🌚 - 3, 13, 18, 26, 28 (enjoy bae hehehe)
Thank you bae!! Truly doing the most <3
3 - Least favorite case?
Nooooo why the hard questions 😔😔
Okay the standard answer and by far the worst is B*g T*p obviously, but other than that,,, for TGAA I think the second Soseki case. It was so dreary and kept dragging - to be fair the case right after is the juicy stuff so it was filler but still :/
I also didn't really enjoy Turnabout Samurai OKAY HEAR ME OUT the investigations were so painful I had no clue what to do next?? Also the witnesses were probably some of the creepiest (S*l M*nella, Oldbag), instant no <3
13 - Which 'superpower' do you find most fun?
MOOD MATRIX!! Oh my gosh I love it so much, both how it functions story wise and mechanics wise (also Athena beloved)
I really do like Polly's perceive but it was lowkey painful to do 🙂
18 - Is there a point you got really stuck on?
For a lot of the investigations in the main trilogy I was hopelessly wandering around trying to figure out what on earth the game wanted me to do 💀
Also in aai the FRICKIGN. FOREIGN MINISTER BOSS VILLAIN ARGH HE WAS SO ANNOYING I wasn't stuck per se but it was blegh
26 - Level with me, which murder plot in the series was the most stupid?
Discounting the whole B*g T*p case, probably Recipe for Turnabout? Most of the characters were nicely written but the case itself was so strange and sort of all over the place idk it just wasn't the vibe
28 - If you could make one more character in the game playable, who would it be?
I'm assuming Athena and Susato don't count because they both had a case where we played as them, in which case I think I'd choose Maya Fey. Okay hear me out not only do I love her but also it seems so fun and the summoning spirits would be a cool possible mechanism
I also really like the idea of Ema Skye being playable because Ema beloved <3333 and investigating 👀
OH FRANZISKA TOO!!!
I have many thoughts head full about this game sorry for the incomprehensible ramblings folks

my tgaa experience so far: I love kazuma asougi this is exactly the samurai lawyer content I did not realize I needed
(case 2 spoilers under cut [yes for the full case not just the beginning])
anyway no im not over the fact that my favorite character dies one case into the game thanks for asking!!
that said, I appreciate the writing in the second case but it’s. so depressing? I love nikolina too and don’t feel like she actually deserves to be punished and the fact that kazuma dies in an accident caused by a misunderstanding is just. extra sad??
and like, the game knows that this is exactly how it’s making you feel because susato points all of this out. I wish his killer was someone I could actually hate and feel good taking down but instead it’s just a confused sweet child so all I feel is... bad :(
