summary: "Her countenance was that of someone unwavering in her conviction, but her eyes gleamed. She looked as only El could: destructive and vulnerable all at once." / Mike attempts to help El escape from the lab, but she requires some convincing. Alternative ending to Season 4.

a/n: happy third day of mileven week! I wrote this ficlet immediately following the release of the st4 trailer, but never posted it (tumblr and I were in an "off again" period at the time). I thought it fit today's theme. I hope you enjoy!

Obviously inspired by @fatechica‘s fantastic domestic head-cannon because that dancing-in-the-kitchen scene was just too cute.  Thus a half-hearted resistant El being pulled away from her turn at the dishes by Mike.

Hi, this is the op with the headcanon ask that seems to be setting off all this drama, which is literally the last thing I would have wanted when I posted that. Please don't take your post down. Like, there was really no disagreement in anything I said compared to what you said. And, even if there was, that's no reason why you should feel like you need to remove your post. This is a big fandom and we're all allowed to have our opinions and headcanons. I'm so sorry about all of this.

I deleted it before you sent this. I'm sorry I added to it. I know better now than to add anything about a different character when the headcanon was originally about Hopper. There's too much contention around characters like Hopper, Steve, and Nancy in this fandom.

favorite episode and favorite friend ship for stranger things (because duh)

i think the point of the meme is for me to do all the questions for a specific fandom, so you get extra answers! yay! =D

favorite male character: mike. my son. my baby. my child.

favorite female character: max. i’m freaking in love with max mayfield. i wanna be like max when i grow up.

least favorite character: probably brenner. no offense to matthew modine, who’s a fantastic actor, but i just want to punch brenner in the face every time he comes on screen. abusive, manipulative bastard…

prettiest character: joyce because winona ryder amirite?

funniest character: dustin. i mean, come on. xD

favorite season: i like both of them almost equally but i’ll always have a special place in my heart for season 1 because it was the one that made me fall in love with these characters. plus i feel like in season 2 everybody was so… separate. i prefer that in season 1 it felt like even if every group was operating with their own subplots, they were still sort of in the same space.

favorite episode: my favorite episodes are always the ones where the whole cast comes together, where all the subplots merge together, so i vacillate between 1x07 (”the bathtub”) and 2x08 (”the mind flayer”) because those are both amazing. in the end, though, 1x07 has more science, so i tend to lean toward that one most of the time.

favorite romantic ship: just look at my AO3 dashboard and take a wild guess. xD

favorite family ship: hopper and el, full stop. i love those two. i love that el finally gets family of her own. i love that hopper gets a second chance at having a child. i still squeal whenever i rewatch the scene where owens gives hopper the birth certificate. mike/eleven moments not withstanding, hopper and el were the best part of season 2 by far.

favorite friend ship: i just love the party all together, and it’s a pity we haven’t gotten nearly enough of that in two seasons. apart from the six of them, though, i gotta admit the steve/dustin friendship is just adorbz.

worst ship: just… anything with billy. like, i know dacre montgomery’s hot, but you really wanna foist that gigantic asshole on some poor, innocent character? the only billy ship i’ll support is billy/prison.

julieeeee i can’t not start out without saying that ‘love you like a love song’ singlehandedly invented literature and writing. forget all those classics like lord of the flies or 1984, your mileven fic is the only good piece of writing that everyone should be studying in class. (also congrats on it officially being the longest on ao3!!!!) second of all, yOU’RE SO COOL IM JEALOUS. your taste in music is amazing, you’re super easy to talk to, you give some pretty bomb tips and support, and did i mention how goddamn talented you are? (also, you were born in 1983, and i dont even need to explain why that’s awesome). everyone else can go home you officially take the title of ‘best person alive currently’. plus you’re always encouraging other people with their writing which is super kind and great to see!! and honestly you just add so much positivity (and mileven fluff) to this fandom that i cant thank you enough for. love yaaaaaa.
