introducing... hyunwoo "harvey" hwang
what's in the nariza bois' very own vortex's car, you ask? well first off, the 1997 supra is totally decked out in various star stickers. some basic shades are always tucked away in the upper console and nos is a must in every racer's ride. an old ipod is tossed in the back along with his most used zip up hoodie. don't tell anyone, but his trusty lighter and secret stash are buried in the middle console. and of course, his favorite cds hang over his head from the visor.

❪ 🐹 ❫ ... 𝗛𝗢𝗣 𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗫'𝗦 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟯 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗗 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗚 !
𝟬𝟬𝟭. phoenix's handy dandy skateboard. tucked away in her trunk at all times, she is never seen without it. aside from their car, it's phoenix's usual mode of transportation. don't bring up the fact that she still can't do a 360 kickflip or she'll throw a fit!
𝟬𝟬𝟮. their orange motorola razr, with a cute phone charm to match! can't rip it away from her, they're either texting their friends or updating their myspace top 8.
𝟬𝟬𝟯. her 2nd generation ipod shuffle is always attached to her hip ( literally. ) she's always losing her earphones, but when they have them they'll be jamming along to their carefully curated playlist while working on cars.
𝟬𝟬𝟰. multiple cans of monster energy are littered around inside her car — it's a neat freak's nightmare! phoenix always says they'll clean it up, but there's always at least three somewhere in there.
𝟬𝟬𝟱. phoenix keeps a tin of her favorite wintergreen altoids in her glove box. there are about four pieces left; they can't help but have one ( or five ) for the road every time.
𝟬𝟬𝟲. loose change, usually in the crevices of the seats and along the floor. if phoenix finds enough, she'll probably just buy another can of monster.

—— 𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙧𝙖 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙜𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙮 ; 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬.
describe your first race. was it a formal challenge or a traffic light chase? how did it feel?
"my first race? oh, that was a trip. street challenge, nothing too official. just a bunch of people, some cars, and a little bit of chaos—perfect, right? my heart was racing, but i was cool. light turned green, and i’m thinking, ‘this is it, i got this.’ but… yeah, no. i didn’t win. kinda hard to when your engine decides to act up in the middle of it. i could feel it slowing down, but i wasn’t about to back off. big mistake. the other guy crossed the line before i could even figure out what went wrong. guess i should’ve paid more attention to the car, huh? that loss? yeah, it sucked. but i didn’t sit there whining about it. i just took it as a lesson—don’t get too cocky, and always listen to the damn engine."
when did your first realize you had a passion for cars / racing?
"huh. guess it wasn’t a sudden realization. i’ve always had a thing for cars—probably inherited it from growing up around them. my father loved luxury vehicles. but racing? that came later. i don’t know if it was the adrenaline, the control, or just the fact that i’m damn good at it, but once i got behind the wheel, i felt like i finally found something that made sense. it’s not just about the speed or the rush—though, yeah, that part’s nice—it’s about owning the road. i wasn’t just some girl in a car, i was the girl in the car. racing gave me that.”
describe your personal definition of loyalty to your crew.
"loyalty? to me, it’s not about just showing up when it’s convenient or when the race is on. it’s about sticking around when things get ugly. when the crew’s down, you don’t bail—you dig in and you get your hands dirty. you don’t just run when the shit hits the fan. loyalty isn’t about kissing ass, it’s about being there when it counts. and don’t even think about trying to jump ship. once i’m with a crew, i’m with them through whatever. no second chances with that."
have you found a ‘family’ within your crew? (if not, would you ever consider swapping?)
"yeah, i’ve found a family, you could say. a messed-up, dysfunctional family, but a family nonetheless. it’s not all rainbows and butterflies, but that’s what makes it real. i’m not the type to just pack up and swap, and i'm kind of offended by the inquiry—once i’m in, i’m in. the prowlers saved me, and now, they’re my home."
tell the story behind your alias.
""bliss" started as a bit of a joke, to be honest. when i first joined the rodani prowlers, i was a mess—a walking disaster with a knack for making everyone around me uncomfortable with my mouth. one of the girls in the crew used to call me "bliss" ironically, because i was the least blissful person you could imagine. but after i got my shit together, i kept the name. it felt like a reminder of how far i’d come, a little piece of irony i decided to own. now? it suits me in its own... weird way. bliss is what i’m chasing—not in a dreamy, fairytale sense, but in the way i live for those fleeting moments of peace, clarity, and thrill when i’m in the spotlight or just cruising down the strip after dark."
what does losing a race feel like to you?
"losing? oh, it feels like shit. like, you know that feeling when you’ve been kicked in the gut, but someone keeps their foot there? yeah, that’s it. i don’t like losing. at all. i’m competitive as hell—whether it’s racing or something as dumb as a game of cards. it doesn’t matter. losing just... eats at me. i get pissed, frustrated, maybe throw a few things. but i’m aware of it. i don’t need anyone telling me i’m a sore loser. it’s fine—just don’t expect me to take it gracefully. i’ll learn from it, though. eventually. and next time? you’re gonna wish you hadn’t won."
what does winning a race feel like to you?
"winning feels like all the pieces finally falling into place. like i’m in control, and no one can take that away from me. it’s a rush i can’t quite explain—so much more satisfying than any high i’ve ever chased. it’s validation. it’s my proof that i’ve fought through the shit, and i’m still standing."
is street racing a long term plan or a short lived hobby for you?
"right, well, i haven't been doing this forever, just a few years, but i can't really imagine not doing it, you know? it's kind of become part of the rhythm of my life. could i stop? maybe... but i don't really see that happening. it's not like i have some grand long-term plan, but right now? it feels like the thing i’m supposed to be doing. so, yeah... guess i’m in it for the long haul."
how do you feel about the establishment of the nariza bois, particularly in relation to their split from the rodani prowlers?
"oh, i love drama. like, who doesn’t? but the thing is, i’m just an import model, so i don’t really get the full scoop on the whole crew drama. i hear bits and pieces, but i wish i knew more. the split between the prowlers and the bois? sounds like a juicy mess, honestly. but hey, i’m not in the racer world, so i just do my thing—strike a pose, look pretty, and let the drama unfold around me. would love to be in the loop though, you know?"
what car do you drive? how have your made your car your own?
"i drive a ‘69 ford mustang mach 1—deep burgundy with gold accents. i call her sovereign because, well, she’s a queen, obviously. she’s my pride and joy, and i’ve put in a lot of work to make her truly mine. custom gold rims, a throaty exhaust that turns heads, and an engine that purrs like a tiger. the interior’s got those classic touches, but i added some modern upgrades, like a killer sound system because why not? sovereign doesn’t just look good; she owns the road. she’s not just a car—she’s my statement piece."
you're often seen around [location]– what does a typical visit look like for you?
"you’ll usually find me around the strip club, body. it’s not just where i work—it’s where i became who i am today. it’s a place full of people who’ve been through their own versions of hell. when i’m not at a race, that’s where you’ll find me. it’s a mix of chaos and familiarity. i like it that way."
do you ever have the urge to swap positions?
"sometimes, yeah, i wonder what it’d be like behind the wheel in a race. there’s something about that raw adrenaline, that control over every twist and turn—i mean, who wouldn’t be tempted? but then i remember i’m pretty damn good at what i do. i’m not sure if the world is ready for me in the driver’s seat, though. bliss behind the wheel? that’s a whole new level of chaos. still, never say never—life’s about keeping people on their toes, right?"

SPEND A DAY WITH CANDY ! ( @fasthq )
* her ipod shuffle provides the soundtrack to candy's entire life, always clipped to the hem of her low rise jeans or unnecessarily flashy belts. she's got a rotating playlist, but lately she can't stop listening to cyclone by baby bash & t-pain. can u blame her ? * candy updates her myspace every day, throughout the day ( xX_DULCE ) — some may call it bad internet safety, but she can't let her fans down ! * a short n' sweet list of items in candy's powder blue mk4 : her sidekick & accompanying keychain ( she rotates them ), a variety of lipsmackers ( both gloss & bomb ), some type of sweet treat ( she's been big into lollipops lately, cotton candy dumdums in particular ), & her baby blue ds lite ( usually in it's carrying case, sometimes thrown about. usually has mario kart ds in it ). not pictured: tamagotchi ( which she guards with her life & nurtures like her own ), turtle shell sunglasses, an emergency pair of contacts, nos, too many energy drinks, & disposable cameras.

✶ ⠀ ▊ ▊ ▊ ⠀ NOW READING : ⠀WHAT'S IN ICE'S POCKETS ?
( 1 ) his black sidekick 2 can always be located on his person in his back right pocket; it's apparently bad luck to place it anywhere else... also he's forgetful. ( 2 ) a small baggie of weed can either be tucked away in his back pocket with his sidekick or it doesn't exist depending on who's asking. ( 3 ) the keys to his honda sr2000 are typically latched onto his belt loop or in his front left pocket. ( 4 ) this little black lighter has been through hell and back with him since he moved to miami; claims it's his "good luck charm" because he has yet to lose it unlike his others lighters. front right pocket. ( 5 ) a pack of extra gum since you never know whose breath stinks or what pretty face will approach him on the streets. you can never be too sure. also in his front right pocket. ( 6 ) literally can't leave the house with grabbing some kind of chapstick or lip balm. wdym you left your house with your lips ashy ? you're 20. still in his front right pocket. ( 7 ) everybody has loose money somewhere on their person and he keeps his in his left back pocket or really anywhere he feels like placing it. ( 8 ) he's hot, of course he has condoms on him at all times; swears it's for other people who might need it but... he's lying. normally kept with his sidekick and weed.

an interview with hunter campbell aka ; cupid ;
when did your first realize you had a passion for cars / racing?
he listened intently , though it was rather challenging task for him . his lack of interest in completing the interview was easily discernable . he didn't like how invasive it felt , but he kept his opinions to himself . " i've known my whole life , " he began , shrugging . " my dad , he used to work on cars . always had me there in the garage with him , just watchin' as he did . when i was old enough to pass him tools he'd always be like ' hey , bud . . . pass me the torque wrench ' or whatever else he needed . i remember lovin' the payoff more than anything . seeing all his hard work put to good use . . . it really inspired something in me , " the male stated . " he never brought me racin' though . my mother would've put him in an early grave if he did , " he replied , chuckling . " i discovered the racing on my own . that's a story for a different time . "
describe your personal definition of loyalty to your crew.
loyalty . that was such a pretty little concept , wasn't it ? he didn't care much for getting affectionate or too sentimental when it came to the crew , or anyone else , but he could somewhat entertain the question . " loyalty , i guess . . . means not turnin' your back on people who've been there for you . it means standing by each other's sides through all the bullshit you face . "
tell the story behind your alias.
hunter groaned , head shaking in frustration . " okay , i'll tell you , but i still don't find it very amusing . it's more of a joke than anything . you know how cupid's supposed to be the love master ? i'm the opposite . i've never been great at the whole . . . love thing . right ? " he half - asked . " like , i don't settle down , not since my last relationship ended years ago . i care about these assholes , but they love to laugh at my mistakes . they think they're so funny , i swear . "
what does losing a race feel like to you?
foot tapped impatiently against the floor , the question filling him with a sense of dread . " a loss feels like shit and tells me that i'm not doin' something right with my work on these cars . it makes me all the more determined to figure out a way to fix the errors and ensure a victory the second time around . like , i fuckin' hate losing , but i guess it always teaches me a lesson . "
what does winning a race feel like to you?
" winnin' a race makes me feel the exact opposite way of how losing makes me feel , " he answered simply . he paused for a beat , before carrying on , feeling like his answer was a little unsatisfactory . " winning feels like . . . reassurance , and it just inspires me to keep up the good work . it's a great feeling . . . knowing you've done well . "
is street racing a long term plan or a short lived hobby for you?
" long term , " he was quick to answer . " i've been here for seven years . i think that sorta exceeds the whole premise of ' short term ' don't you ? " he questioned with a laugh . " this is my passion . i'm not leaving this life anytime soon . i've got everything i want here . why'd i ever wanna go ? "
how do you feel about the establishment of the nariza bois, particularly in relation to their split from the rodani prowlers?
his jaw clenched at the question . hunter knew he should've been prepared for such a query , but it didn't make that sting of betrayal fade either . he inhaled sharply , gaze dropping as he stared at the floor , attempting to gather his answer . " all i'm willing to say is that i used to be really great friends with a lot of those guys , and i was pretty upset with their decision , " he said , shaking his head . " we had something great going for us . now it's all gone . " he'd leave it at that , because he didn't like the vulnerable position he'd been put into , and he felt as though he'd said enough .
do you ever have the urge to swap positions?
he shrugged , a chuckle pushing past is lips . " well , i definitely don't give off model energy , so that's one opportunity right out the window . have you seen some of these models they've got ? i'd be like a fish outta water . " he shook his head and took another moment to consider things . " i mean , i've thought about gettin' behind the wheel for a change . it's not like i've never raced before . i've only ever done it at stoplights . nothin' official , nothing for prize money or anything . just for the adrenaline . if they needed me to step in , i would . for now , though , i think i'm most valuable as a mechanic . i've got a special kind of talent for this . "
