The Instagram poll
What it is: YN feels anxious about her interview with Nick Grimshaw, when she tries to tell Harry, they fight; angst to fluff
Word count: 3.5k
let me know if you liked it!!!
YN was pacing around her and Harry’s bedroom when she got Nick’s text, her phone already unlocked and opened on Nick’s Instagram account.
‘They chose you!! Told ya Xx’
Followed by another one with the details of their soon to happen encounter. She felt her heart fall into her stomach.
When she had joked that no one would want to see her on his BBC Radio program, she certainly didn’t expect Nick’s followers to vote for her on the ‘which guest would you like on the radio’ poll Nick had posted on his Instagram Stories.
It wasn’t a secret, who she was, and in the time of social media, where anyone knew everything about anyone, articles started to come pretty fast when she was first seen with Harry, and in less than an hour, her entire life was published on the Daily Mail. Her college major, her school’s annuary picture, her parents’ names, everything in the open for anyone to read.
Harry had obviously contacted the gossip magazine, threatening to sue if they didn’t remove the article, but YN had to remind him people could have already screenshotted it and started sharing it online.
It’s not like YN was naive, she knew who Harry was when they first started dating, and she debated a long time whether he was worth it — turns out, he was. The only thing she didn’t realize is how obsessive people can get with his partners. She really thought no one would care about her! Why would they want to know her mum’s name? She still couldn’t get an answer to that, two years in her relationship with Harry.
When Nick told her Harry’s fans were invading his dms, requesting him to bring YN on his program, YN had laughed in disbelief.
“You don’t believe me?!” Nick had shouted, a little bit wine tipsy, “i’ll prove it to you.”
She had shrugged at his words and didn’t think much about it for the rest of the evening, enjoying her time with her boyfriend and his friends.
It was only the day after — still tangled in the silky sheets, half awake and with Harry sleeping soundly next to her — that she realized Nick was serious; he had posted an Instagram story with a picture of her along with two other pics of two influencers (she remembers their names were Alix Earle and Emelie Lindmark), with the poll ‘which guest would you like on the radio?’, followed by their names. She had chuckled a bit through her nose, quietly trying not to wake Harry, and voted for @emitaz, confident that no one in their right mind would choose her. She started to panic when, after voting, Instagram showed the percentage next to the respective names, her already being at 67% this early in the day.
She checked the poll all day, almost every hour, to see if something would change, snapping at her phone like a maniac when the number only seemed to increase.
When she had told Harry, she thought he’d get upset, but he’d just laughed and kissed her forehead, mumbling something about how if he’d known he would’ve bet with Nick on the results. She felt defeated. If she’s being honest, she’d hoped Harry would get mad, because then she’d have a reason not to go along with it. She’d just tell Nick Harry thought it wasn’t a good idea and she knows he’d never question his friend.
But Harry had laughed. He had laughed! Obviously unaware of the turmoil that was happening inside her head from the moment she checked her Instagram that morning.
That’s why, after receiving his text, she had texted him back agreeing on meeting.
Sometimes YN doesn’t know why she’s like this. She clearly didn’t want to do it, why would she agree anyway? Why wouldn’t she speak out on something she wasn’t comfortable doing? She doesn’t know why she needs a reason to decline. She could just own up to her decision and tell Nick she didn’t feel like doing it. But now she had agreed! So she basically was forced to do it, because she knew as soon as she texted him back, he had everything set with the radio.
So she tries to go on with her day without thinking too much about it. They scheduled her appearance for the beginning of the next week, so she had a couple of days to pretend she didn’t have to go.
Pretending actually came pretty easy to her, because if she pretended it didn’t happen, her anxiety subsided, and when she felt that familiar gut wrenching feeling, she’d just push it down reminding herself she still had a week to prepare.
The problem with pretending is that when the night before arrives, you can’t pretend anymore, and all those feelings you put aside, are pushing down on your chest like a weight impossible to ignore, because, sadly, anxiety demands to be felt, and pretending to be fine doesn’t do it any good.
So YN, trying to take big breaths to calm down the ache she felt in her chest, hurried down the stairs, her socked feet moving fast against the floor.
When she walked in the kitchen, she spotted Harry cutting some tomatoes on the cutting board, humming happily a song she couldn’t quite make out.
“Hey baby!” He smiled once he raised his eyes from the board, “dinner is almost ready.”
YN nodded her head but didn’t move from her position on the doorframe, her legs suddenly feeling heavy and her head swarmed with words she dreaded to say.
“Harry…” she whispered, her eyes falling down to her feet avoiding his, “i don’t think I can go tomorrow”
She blew out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding, but the heavy weight on her chest was still there, a cruel reminder of her carelessness, because despite feeling a little better when the words came out of her mouth, she knew Harry would be disappointed in her; he hated when people would cancel last minute. He thought it was unprofessional, and in his many years of career, he had always tried to do his best to show up, even if that meant singing with a sore throat or doing an interview with a headache.
YN, however, was different. She liked to prioritize her mental health, and if that meant appearing rude, so be it, she’d stress out over it for a while, but then she’d feel a lot better for not going. This time, though, things were a little more complicated, because Nick was Harry’s friend, and she didn’t want to cause problems between them. Plus, she really cared about Harry’s opinion of her, and she didn’t want to disappoint him, but at the end of the day, she still didn’t feel like going, so she really felt conflicted.
“Baby… c’mon!” He said, dropping the smile from his face and blowing out an annoyed sigh, “You always do this!”
“I know, Harry, I just… I don’t feel good about going” she shook her head, chewing on her bottom lip nervously.
“YN.” He scolded her, his tone stern, “you should’ve thought about that before agreeing.”
YN furrowed her brows, her anger rising with every word that came out of his mouth. She knew he had a point, but it’s not like she could control her anxiety! She still doesn’t know why she agreed, and communicating is difficult when you don’t know the motive behind your actions in the first place.
“It’s not my fault I have anxiety” she snapped, her eyes glancing up to meet his.
“Don’t twist my words! I never said that”
She knew she was being unfair, and she felt guilty about using her anxiety against him, but she wanted him to understand her without necessarily having to speak about it.
“I’m not going” she repeated, but her voice wasn’t firm and her words sounded unconvincing.
“You’re being childish about this” he said, shaking his head in disappointment.
“Why are you being like this!” She rolled her eyes, crossing her arms against her chest.
“Like what?” He questioned, and at this point he felt exasperated. It wasn’t the first time YN canceled last minute on something she had agreed upon days prior, and he felt frustrated because he couldn’t make her understand how rude and disrespectful she came out to be.
He didn’t want to force her to go, of course, and he knew anxiety could be tricky with things like this, he just wanted her to speak her mind before agreeing on something just because she felt bad about declining an invite.
“Like this!” She gestured with her hand toward him, keeping the other arm around her waist “i want you to see where I’m coming from”
“I see where you’re coming from, and I understand you feel anxious. But you committed to this!” He said, this time his tone had softened and his words came sweetly out of his mouth, and in a way he hoped to reassure her with his body language, losing the furrow of his brows and taking a step toward her, not before drying his hands on the apron tied around his waist.
“I can come with you. I’ll ask Nick to be there when you do the interview, it won’t be a problem. It will be over before you know it! And then we can do whatever you want! We can call that sushi place you like and order everything off the menu, mmh?”
His offering really seemed convincing, and YN felt her tummy get warm at the thought of eating her favorite food in bed with Harry and maybe watch a movie or just cuddle, but after these wonderful and heartwarming thoughts, came the dark and cold thought of the dreaded interview, and what she had to endure before she could really go home and enjoy her time with her boyfriend.
“Why aren’t you listening to me!” She yelled, her eyes beginning to sting with angry tears.
“Baby…” he said, still trying to maintain his softness with her, hoping it would help her nervous state.
“Fine, you want to force me to go, I’ll go. But you’re sleeping on the couch then.” And with that last threat, she turned her back to him and walked out of the kitchen, a pout closing her lips and her arms still crossed against her chest.
When she reached her bedroom she closed the door loudly behind her and walked to the bathroom to do her routine before bed, ignoring the grumbling coming from her hungry stomach and trying not to think too much about what Harry was making for dinner.
She felt bad he had to sleep on the couch, but not mad enough to go downstairs and apologize. She still thought what she said, and she still looked for some understanding from him, because she thought at least her boyfriend would be on her side, and she felt not supported when he wasn’t.
Despite her angry thoughts, she felt the weight in her chest lifting a bit at the thought of Harry being there with her, and when she played in her mind how the interview would go, she felt, upon a big, dark cloud surrounding Nick’s studio, a little ray of rushing shining on her boyfriend, who would be waiting for her on the side. That mere thought made it possible for YN to fall asleep after a while, her dreams invaded by shiny green eyes and curly brown hair.
. . .
“Are you ready?” Nick asked her from his chair on the other side of the table, in front of him a big microphone hanging from the ceiling, aligned with his mouth.
“Yes” she nodded, speaking nervously into the microphone’s head. Her eyes shifted to find Harry in the room, and when she found him, she quickly glanced back to Nick, realizing Harry was already watching her.
YN still hadn’t apologized, and the car ride that morning had been silent. She felt safe at the thought of Harry being in the room with her, but not safe enough to be happy and feel completely relaxed about going.
When they’d arrived — a bit late because of her funny, anxious tummy —, she was hurried in a chair, the blouse she was requested to wear for easier access, opened hurriedly, and an elderly doctor asked her permission to put the adhesive cups on her chest, right above her bra.
She had blushed a little but nodded either way, looking the other way, the doctor’s cold hands leaving goosebumps everywhere she touched.
She wanted Harry by her side, and she looked toward him with pleading eyes, an uncomfortable grimace adoring her features. He had walked slowly towards her, excusing himself from the conversation he was in, and in no time he was next to her, shielding her exposed skin from indiscreet eyes. No one was looking at her, actually, and she knew that, but his presence put her mind to rest, and she focused on how his lips moved every time he would open his mouth to talk, conversing with the doctor about how ticklish the suction cups were the last time he did it and how Nick hadn’t been has gentle when it was his turn.
“Okay, YN” Nick smiled reassuringly at her, “i’m going to show you some pictures and we’ll watch how your heart will react”
YN nodded her head without saying anything, chewing on her bottom lip nervously. She glanced at the heart monitor beside her, beeping loudly and constantly, her heart rate already quickening a bit because of her anxiety.
Nick grabbed the picture from his desk and showed it to her, “mmh, a big chunk of money” he laughed, his eyes shifting immediately from the picture to the heart monitor, which stayed the same.
“No change” he pointed out, raising his eyebrows at her.
“Don’t care about money” she shrugged, smiling at him.
She was in a way thankful Nick had showed her that picture, because at least the allegations of her being a gold digger and staying with Harry only for his money could be disputed.
“Okay, moving on we have…” he dragged the end of the last word, picking up the next picture quickly. Before he could say what the picture was, YN smiled and said excitedly “a kitten!”
The picture depicted a small black cat, sleeping soundly on its back, its big, milk-full belly in display, a pale rose color.
“So cute” she squealed, and she heard Nick laugh at her.
“Look at that!” He pointed to the heart monitor, her heart rate picking up a bit, going from 70 to 75 gradually, “she likes kittens” Nick winked towards the camera, speaking in the microphone.
“I do” YN nodded, feeling a little more at ease in her surroundings.
Nick showed her two other pictures, one of Zayn Malik, to which she had blushed (but her heart stayed the same), and another one of a Big Mc, and this time it was her stomach that grumbled, still empty from the night before, her heart beat increasing slightly.
“Okay!” Nick smirked, “last picture”, he said, picking up the cardboard picture and looking at it first without showing it to her.
He then raised it a bit and showed it to the camera behind him.
“Show me alreadyyyy Nicky!!” She whined, giggling.
Nick shrugged and turned the picture towards her, smiling a sly smile once he saw the blush creep on her warm cheeks.
YN cleared her throat and squinted her eyes to look better at the picture, but she knew that photo of Harry all too well… she was the one who’d taken it.
It was right after his performance in Rio, and he had been teasing the fans about his Brasil! tattoo all night, but never actually showed it. So, while he was getting undressed, YN had snapped a quick pic of him, his pants half opened, his tattoo peaking out on his upper thigh, right before the zipper of the sparkly material. He looked like an angel, and YN had sent him the photo, which he posted immediately.
“That’s Harry!” She blushed, trying not to focus on the sound of the heart monitor machine beeping loudly and filling the embarrassing silence, her heart beating faster with every glance she took at the photo.
“I know that’s Harry…” Nick smiled mischievously, “and who is Harry to you?”
YN could swear her face was as red as the tomatoes Harry was cutting the day the fought, and she felt herself shifting on the chair uncomfortably, her nails picking at the skin of her thumb under the table. It’s not like people didn’t know he was her boyfriend, but she always feared how his fans would react to that.
“He’s my boyfriend” she whispered, her face flustered.
“Look at that heart!” Nick laughed, pointing once again at the monitor. Yn wanted to scoff, it’s not like he had to point it out, everyone could hear the incessant beeping of the machine, her heart rate going from 70 to 100 under everyone’s creeping eyes.
Her gaze shifted to Harry quickly, and she relaxed in her seat once she saw him chuckling under his breath, his dimples adorning his smile.
“Okay, everyone! Let’s take a little break” Nick said after a while, and she heard one of the crew members signaling that they stopped filming and that the radio would be blasting music in the small break between recordings.
“That was hilarious” Nick laughed once again, getting up from his chair and pointing towards YN.
“You set me up!” She giggled, still embarrassed from what her own heart had done.
“Blame yourself honey” he replied, throwing her a flying kiss.
YN rolled her eyes playfully and waited for the doctor to remove the adhesive patches.
Once she was free from the pads, she walked towards Harry, who was waiting for her with his arms crossed against his chest, leaning against the wall adjacent of where she was sitting.
When she reached him, her head was low and she avoided his gaze on purpose, not knowing where they were standing, with the way she had acted the day before and especially because she had confirmed their relationship without consulting him first.
The room was almost empty now, Nick and his coworkers taking advantage of the break to eat lunch or smoke a cigarette.
She took his arms in her hands and uncrossed them, circling her waist with them. She then snuggled her head against his chest and hugged her own arms around his waist, breathing in the comforting scent of his body wash.
“I’m sorry if I embarrassed you…” she whispered, her cheek squished against his chest.
“You didn’t” he shrugged, engulfing her lower back in a hug and squeezing her more against his body, “i’m really proud of being your boyfriend” he said, placing a loud kiss against her hairline.
She lingered in his hug for a moment longer, finding comfort in his warm embrace, and then spoke again, “and I’m sorry if I got angry… I… it’s hard sometimes” she mumbled.
She heard him hum and his chest vibrated against her cheek, the beating of his heart lulling her “i know.” He said, firmly, “never again, you hear me?”
He waited for her to nod before continuing, “we never go to bed angry, we always talk it out, okay?”
“Never again” she agreed, because despite being angry with him, she still missed him, and she hated wasting time being angry at him, because it truly was a waste of time. She loved him, and she knew he loved her, so instead of fighting, she should’ve been more open about her feelings, she knew he would’ve understood.
“And I’m never sleeping on the couch again, okay?” He said seriously, to which YN laughed, squeezing his waist tighter.
“Never again” she repeated, placing a kiss against his heart.
“Now… — he averted his torso a bit in her hold, uncrossing his arms from behind her lower back and bringing his hands between them, to button the top of her blouse that she had forgotten to close — let’s go home, hum?” He tugged at the collar of her blouse and then lowered his head to whisper the next part in her ear, “that thing you did with your heart turned me on”, he said, sealing his words with a wet kiss against the shell of her ear.
YN laughed loudly at his words, throwing her head back and then swatting his chest jokingly, “Harry!”

How Fashion Brands Can Use Instagram Stories to Drive Sales and Build Loyalty
In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, Instagram Stories have become an indispensable tool for fashion brands to captivate their audience, boost engagement, and ultimately drive sales. With over 500 million daily active users, Stories offer a unique platform for brands to create authentic connections and foster long-term loyalty. As a leading provider of social media marketing services in Pune, we understand the nuances of leveraging Instagram Stories to amplify your brand’s reach and performance.
1. Showcase Behind-the-Scenes Content
Fashion brands thrive on creativity and storytelling. Using Instagram Stories, brands can showcase behind-the-scenes content, such as product development, photoshoots, and the creative process. This transparency builds trust and humanizes the brand, making it more relatable.
For example, sharing how a new clothing line is designed or produced can excite your audience and enhance brand loyalty. Conversion Optimization Facebook Ads can further amplify this content, ensuring the right audience engages with it.
2. Promote Limited-Time Offers and Sales
The ephemeral nature of Instagram Stories makes them ideal for promoting flash sales or exclusive discounts. Fashion brands can use Stories to create urgency by adding countdown timers or “swipe-up” links (for accounts with over 10k followers) to direct users to purchase.
To maximize the impact of these promotions, use Facebook Pixel Event Tracking to analyze user behavior and retarget audiences who show interest but don’t complete their purchases.
3. Leverage Influencer Collaborations
Collaborating with influencers who align with your brand’s ethos can help fashion brands reach a wider audience. Instagram Stories allow influencers to showcase your products authentically through try-ons, tutorials, or styling tips.
Our SMM services ensure seamless collaboration and tracking of these campaigns to measure ROI effectively. Through event tracking on Facebook Ads, you can monitor conversions generated from influencer-driven Story campaigns.
4. Use Interactive Features for Engagement
Instagram Stories offer interactive tools like polls, quizzes, sliders, and question stickers. Fashion brands can use these features to engage their audience while gathering valuable insights.
For instance, you can ask your audience to vote for their favorite outfit or share styling suggestions using question stickers. These interactions not only foster a sense of community but also provide data that can be used for conversion optimization in Facebook Ads campaigns.
5. Highlight Customer Testimonials and User-Generated Content (UGC)
Social proof is a powerful driver of sales. Fashion brands can use Stories to share testimonials, reviews, and UGC such as customer photos and videos. This not only builds trust but also encourages others to engage with the brand.
Strategically running SMM services campaigns to promote such Stories can boost their visibility, driving traffic and conversions.
6. Run Exclusive Story Ads
Instagram Story Ads are a cost-effective way to reach potential customers. These full-screen ads offer an immersive experience, enabling fashion brands to showcase their products in creative and compelling ways. By implementing Facebook Pixel Event Tracking, brands can measure ad performance and optimize for better results.
7. Host Live Q&A or Tutorials
Going live on Stories allows brands to interact directly with their audience. Hosting Q&A sessions about styling, fabric care, or upcoming launches can position your brand as an authority in fashion. Tutorials, such as how to style a particular piece, can also boost engagement and drive sales.
8. Create Story Highlights for Evergreen Content
Although Instagram Stories disappear after 24 hours, Highlights let brands save important Stories permanently on their profile. Fashion brands can categorize these Highlights by collections, offers, or campaigns, ensuring users can access valuable content anytime.

How To Use Instagram Stories For Business: The Perfect Guide
If you aren't using Instagram Stories for business, you could be losing out on a significant opportunity.
Instagram Stories are one of the best ways to enhance interaction, increase brand visibility, and even increase revenue in addition to being amusing and artistic.
In our Comprehensive Guide to Instagram Story, we cover everything from content strategy to design so that you can create the best Instagram Stories to develop your business in 2023.
Instagram Templates were first released in 2016 and have grown in popularity ever since. The average number of feed posts published by influencers has actually fallen since stories entered the scene.
Since consumers seek a more genuine relationship from the businesses they support, 24-hour stories have become the ideal medium for spontaneous on-camera video with minimal post-production.
Instagram Stories has evolved over the past few years, bringing new features that increase engagement and are great for starting conversations, humanising your brand, and getting immediate feedback from your target market.
Hence, you can be losing out on a significant potential if you don't consistently produce Instagram Stories for your brand. Instagram Templates has a tonne of simple tools, including one-click surveys and fast emoji slider stickers, that promote audience participation.
Moreover, Instagram's new Create mode contains a tonne of pre-populated stickers that are intended to spark your creativity and boost interaction if you're lacking in inspiration. Adding a few of these elements to your stories once a week may be a wonderful way to increase audience engagement, which will help you rank higher in Instagram's algorithm overall.
One of the quickest and simplest stickers for your followers to participate in is a poll sticker, making them a wonderful choice for an immediate engagement increase.
Polls are a terrific way to get more audience participation, and often the most straightforward ones work best.
For instance, content creators routinely encourage their audience to vote on whether or not to buy a product or watch a new TV show in polls. Although they might seem like straightforward subjects to talk about, this is a really effective strategy to foster a stronger sense of community on Instagram.
By asking your target market which colour schemes they prefer and what products they wish to use in various scenarios, you can use this chance to grow your business.
Stickers with questions are a great way to collect quick responses from your audience for a variety of objectives, such as asking for questions for a Q+A or soliciting feedback on products. For a fantastic user experience, you may quickly respond to any submissions immediately by DM or in a new Instagram story, closing the loop.

I've been posting about (early) voting pretty much daily on my instagram and fb stories (which. that's a thing now? w/e) and for the most part if feels like I'm just yelling at clouds. I get 20-50 views, most of the people that see them have almost certainly voted already or just aren't going to, period. (Or they're not US citizens, s/o to the british band that follows me back???)
but, yesterday a friend texted about something else, and when I asked if he had voted yet, he said that the last time I had asked that question, he went to the polls with his dad (they live in GA, let's go Stacy Abrams!)
And also yesterday, I got a dm from someone who I didn't even realize lives in the same state as me, thanking me for the early voting info I had posted, along with a picture of his "i voted" sticker.
So, probably they would have voted anyways. Hopefully they would have.
But. Every vote counts.
Your local elections matter-
soil and water? that's so fucking important y'all. Clean water. Clean dirt. That's food. That's what kids play in.
School board? That's who gets to decide if queer stories, Black stories, Jewish stories, are even allowed in classrooms. If the truth about american history can even be acknowledged.
City and County boards? that's your local taxes and how they're used. Local businesses. whether or not your community welcomes immigrants or packs them into detention centers.
Sheriff? Well, look. I'm as ACAB as the next queer twenty-something, but I'll still vote for the sheriff who's less likely to sell out to ICE than the other one.
Then you get to the state level? federal?
Your judges are so fucking important.
gd, i can't even begin. just take thirty seconds to look at the cases going to the supreme court. lower level courts can deal with those issues too.
senate and house? that effects your daily life. Clean energy. Abortion access. Gerrymandering. school funding.
please. please. please vote.
Often, local elections are won by hundreds of votes or less.
your vote matters. i promise, promise it matters.
Check voting info at these sites:
Or google Your State/County + Board of Elections

*This event has ended! Click the links in the Timeline to see individual rounds, prompts, fics, voting, and results!*
Hey, Tropesters! It’s time for another TROPED event, but this time the prompts will be in the form of MOODBOARDS! Made by yours truly, the moodboards function as the inspiration for the fics written for this event! We've got four exciting themes picked out, and the boards are already looking great, so we hope you're excited! This event will be a little different from the others that we have put on, so keep reading for more info!
How It Works:
Firstly, this is our first ever TROPED Multi-Fandom event, so share this around! We would love to get fics from fandoms we've never had for TROPED before! All Fandoms are welcome and there is in no minimum participation required for this event!Because this is a Multi-Fandom event, the voting process and the overall event structure will be a little different!
No Sign-Ups Required! We will release the prompts right here on the TROPED tumblr and you will submit your fics to the AO3 Collection! The Writing Periods will be on a rolling basis, with a moodboard dropping every ten (10) days, but fear not! If you are inspired for a round later in the event, you can still submit a fic to be included in Voting! We will simply drop the next board, but nothing will officially close or end until the end of the full Writing Period, on August 25th! Fics will be accepted into the official collection for the entirety of the event! **You will write four or more (4+) separate fanfics inspired by each round, but you do not have to participate in each and every round.**
Moodboard Prompts! As we said, the prompts for this event will be in the form of MOODBOARDS!!! Because photos are open to such a wide range of interpretations, and inspiration from a moodboard can come in all shapes and sizes, this event is much less strict in terms of 'sticking to the prompt'! We will be releasing the moodboards with a little blurb about what it is we envisioned when putting them together, but if inspiration strikes and takes you in another direction, go for it! Pretty much anything goes, as long as it fits with our standard rules! As a general rule, we'd like you to take each of the nine (9) photos and find a way to include that imagery in your fic in some way. Try to find a way to incorporate the concepts and inspirations you get from each photo into your story! Similar to the tropes used in our traditional TROPED format, the photos in the moodboards should matter to your story. You should try to have the photos not be inconsequential moments within your fic, but rather make the moments in the moodboard plot relevant!
All Pairings Allowed! TROPED is always a neutral space for any and all ships! We encourage [and sometimes require ;)] rare pairs, platonic pairings, and other out of the box dynamics within our fics! TROPED is, by design, a positive fandom space for everyone, and focusing on allowing and celebrating any and all pairings (that are allowed within the rules) is a big part of that! **Please feel free to write any pairing (within our rules) from the Fandom of your choosing. You do not have to write the same Fandom/Pairing for each round!**
**As a note, the photos in the moodboards are not definitive! A lot of stock photos are white, and straight, but we chose photos simply for the ✨vibes✨ of the photo, not the pairings themselves!! You can implement those scenes into your fics with any characters or combos, as long as it complies with our relationship rules!!**
This event will be Optionally Anonymous! Because the voting for this event is much more chill, and the writing period will be open for over a month, we will not require this event to be anonymous! However, if you would like to have your fic be anonymous, we will be sharing a small tutorial on how to make your fics anonymous and how to remove them from being anonymous sometime before the event starts, so keep your eyes peeled!
Voting! The voting for this event will be pretty simple! We will keep a list of all fics submitted for each event, and then at the end there will be a "best overall" poll for each round, along with some bonus polls! The voting will be based on the fics as a whole, and will include all fandoms together! If you do not want your fic included in the voting, you can let us know, or you can simply upload your fic to our non-anon collection instead! We will still share it along with the other fics and it will be included in all masterlists! We will provide a link to SurveyMonkey when voting begins.
For the OG Tropesters: As an added bonus for our long time The 100 fandom writers, we've cooked up an extra special little challenge for you! We will be including a special tenth (10th!!) photo, just for you! The 10th photo will be of a character of our choosing from The 100 (obviously) for you to include in your fic! We will be releasing the character we've chosen for each round when we drop the moodboard, so keep your eyes peeled!
Timeline:
Writing Period Dates: July 15th - August 25th!
Moodboard for R1 : July 15th at 12:00am
Moodboard for R2 : July 25th at 12:00am
Moodboard for R3 : August 4th at 12:00am
Moodboard for R4 : August 14th at 12:00am
End of Visual Writing Period: August 25th at 3:00am PST/6:00am EST [EXTENSION UNTIL SATURDAY, AUGUST 28TH AT 8:00 AM EST!]
Voting: August 28th at 12:00pm - August 30th at 11:59pm
Winners: August 31st!
*All times are in Eastern Standard Time (EST) unless otherwise specified!
Rules:
If you are a veteran to our TROPED Challenges, the rules below are mostly the same as before, but any newbies joining the fun should definitely take a look below!
This competition was created to get creative and put out different fics into the world, and to create a fun, positive fandom experience for everyone! In order to ensure that we achieve that goal of a positive experience, here are a few rules and guidelines that must be followed! The requirements for the fics entered into the competition will be:
Must include Characters from your specific chosen Fandom
Must try to fit the Theme of each round! While this event is a lot looser, each board will have a clear concept or theme for you to use in your fics!
Must try to use ALL of the pictures selected for the round. Each of the 9 photos are meant to be taken and turned into scenes, images, or themes within your story! This isn't hard and fast, but we encourage you to try to utilize the boards in a specific way, beyond just the general ✨vibes✨ of the board!
All fics must be 10,000 words or less! (We have allowed a 500 word buffer to allow for fics that are not quite finished at the 10k mark to get wrapped up!) There is no minimum word count.
All ratings G through M are welcome, but E Rated fics are not allowed. Please be aware that some fics may not be everyone’s thing! Write what you like, but the voting is public so just keep that in mind!
Multiple Entries Allowed. We love when authors are able to pump out multiple fics for a single prompt! If you would like them to be considered seperately for voting, please be sure they are standalone fics! If you end up writing multiple chapters or parts of one fic, let us know! We will only include one for voting but we will be sure to share all the parts!
Collaborations! We've had some people ask about collaborations, and we're all for it! If you and a friend would like to write a fic together, go for it! Just let us know who to credit when we share the fics on our masterlists and we will be sure to tag anyone involved!
You will be disqualified if you include:
Smut! Due to the chance that some fandoms might include a cast of all underage characters, we have decided to exclude smut. All ratings G-M are allowed!
Rape!
Underage! This means no High School AU with sex, no teacher/student if the student is underage, zero adult/under 18 romantic relationships!
Incest! Incest includes adopted siblings, foster siblings, parent/child, step siblings, biological siblings, or any familial relationship, blood related or not!
Negativity towards any character or ship! This includes any sort of abuse perpetrated by a character intending to paint them in a negative light, negative statements about a character intended purely to express your dislike of a character, or things of that nature. You MAY write characters as villains! Writing a character as a villain asks the audience to disagree with the characters motivations and choices, not to dislike the character on principle. The basis of this rule is that your fic should not be written as a way to simply express your dislike of a character.
Plagiarism! While the tropes we use in our challenges are common and communal, the stories and words you create must be your own! Fanfiction is about transformative work, and taking concepts from other writers is natural! Inspiration can come from lots of places, but rewriting someone else’s fic is unacceptable. *Following our own rules, we want to let you know that all photos used in the TROPED: VISUAL Moodboards are from Unsplash.com —a source for freely-usable images.*
This is meant to be a fun and positive experience for everyone. We reserve the right to disqualify anyone if we are reading their fic and we think it violates any of our rules!
Because this challenge is NOT completely anonymous, feel free to share your fics and post about them to your hearts content! If you wish to remain anonymous until after voting, you can, of course, wait and post about your fics then! The non-anon only applies to this event, though, so if you come back to write for us in the future be sure to keep those lips zipped!
Follow along here on Tumblr, the TROPED Twitter, the TROPED Instagram, or our Discord Server for more information on the event! We will release our prompts in these places and then everyone is free to start writing!!! We are super excited to see what you guys create!!
If you have any questions about this event, fandoms or pairings, or any other concerns please send them to our Ask Box or DM a Mod (@dylanobrienisbatman or @thelittlefanpire)!

Edit your own OnlyFans profile
The first thing you need to do is set a username and display name for your OnlyFans accounts:
Username = This particular name will appear inside your URL in addition to “@”.
Display Name = This is the name that shows up above your own username on your feed and your account, since this is just not a username you can include spaces and create it look more.
Next you need to add a cover image and an account photo. The cover image is a large banner that appears behind your profile picture. Add a cover image that is related to the content that you will post on your feed, however keep in mind that full nudity is not allowed in your banner or display picture.
Next upload a profile picture for your account. From this article you can see, the “Subscription Price ($/Per Month)” section is grayed out and cannot be accessed. This is because you need to include a bank accounts to your OnlyFans account and confirm that you are over 18.

Under the “Subscription Price” section you possess the “About” section. The following is where you can add a bio for your followers to see when they come across your profile.
Any time fans view your profile your bio will be invisible by the tag “Show more info”, simply clicking that tag will reveal your bio and additional information including website links.
After clicking on “Show more info” and revealing your bio, the case changes to “Show less” if fans want to conceal your bio again.
Occurs bio section to let your fans know what they will obtain access to whenever they subscribe. Tell fans the type of content that you post, by way of example it can be workout movies, cosplay photos, clothes hauls, modelling photosets etc.
Try in addition to be as detailed as you possibly can, this will certainly improve your chances of gaining new subscribers since you are usually which makes it clear whats fans will become getting for their funds.
You can likewise let fans understand how often you post, in the event you post regularly, you can include phrases like “daily uploads” or “new content added weekly” to be able to your bio. In case you offer custom content (workout plans, tested recipes, image or video requests, adult articles etc. ), add this to your current bio too.

Add a bank account to earn money
Add a bank account: Step 1 – Submit your personal details
Note: Adding your bank account to your OnlyFans account is done in 2 stages.
1. Submit your personal details and ID for approval by OnlyFans.
2. After your account is approved, add your bank account and set your monthly subscription price.
To start out earning money as an OnlyFans creator you need to submit your personal details for review, once the OnlyFans team have reviewed and approved your, you’ll be capable to add your current bank account.
To be able to submit your personal information you can browse back up and click on “add a bank account” beneath the “Subscription Price” section.
You may also add your bank details by clicking on typically the profile icon inside the top right corner. This will open a part menu, on this menu click “Add Bank (to earn)”.
On the next page add your country of residence and click the age verification circle to confirm that you are at least 18 years old. Once you are done, click on “Next”.
On the page after this you need to add your personal information:
First name Last name Address City Post/Zip Code Date of birth
You can also add your Twitter and Instagram account names, but these are optional.
Below your personal information you have to upload a government issued photo ID. Under “Document Type” click and choose the ID you want to upload, you can upload the following ID types:
Passport ID Card Driving Licence Next you need to upload a photo of the ID itself and a photo of you holding the ID next to your face. When uploading your ID photos, make sure the file size isn’t too large.
Next you have to add the ID expiry date or click on the “No expiration date” if your ID has no expiry date. If you are uploading explicit grownup content you need to tick the circle underneath “Explicit Content”.Once you are done, the “Send for approval” button should now be blue rather than gray, simply click it to submit your details. It takes 48 hours for your to get approved.
Add a bank account: Step 2 – Add your bank account and set your monthly subscription price
Once your account has been approved you should receive an email coming from OnlyFans confirming an approval and letting you know that you could now add your bank account plus set your monthly subscription price.
Log into your OnlyFans account, click on the particular profile icon, then click on “Add Bank”, this may take you to the banking page. The default payout method is Direct Transfer through your current Visa Card.
This particular is an Original Credit Transfer (OCT), a new repayment system that is quicker and cheaper as compared to bank transfers, permitting you withdraw as tiny as $20 in addition to receive it within just 3 business days.
Under “Direct Transfer (OCT)” you’ll see a button called “Other payout options”. This will show you the remaining payout options available, currently Direct Transfer (OCT) and International Bank Transfer (SWIFT) are available.
If you want to get paid by bank transfer instead you can choose this option, however this process only lets you pull away money after your account has made $200 every time, it’s can be slightly lengthier than Direct Transfer.
Alternatively, this method works with any bank account whilst, Direct Transfer on OnlyFans only works with Visa and Visa Debit card.
Judgement:
If you have a Visa or Visa Debit credit card, stick to Direct Transfer (OCT).
If you don’t have a Visa or Australian visa Debit card, choose International Bank Transfer (SWIFT).Once you have chosen your payout method, fill in the details needed and click “Save payout details”. That’s it! Today you simply need to arranged a monthly registration price and start getting paid. We will cover this in the next step.
Set a monthly subscription price
When your OnlyFans account has been accepted and your bank details happen to be added in order to your account, you can now set your month to month subscription price.
To do this, click on the profile icon in the top right corner then on the side menu go to “My Profile” then click on “Edit Profile” on your profile page.
By default your subscription price is set to “Free” and the minimum subscription price you can set is $4.99.
I suggest starting off with an amount range between $9.99/$14.99 and running promotions for $5.99/$7.99 when necessary. In the future you will see a pattern develop between your pricing, content and subscribers. You can then adapt your prices depending on what your account performs.
Generally speaking you are likely to have more members if your membership price is lower but don’t be frightened to charge more if you post a lot of content, particularly if the content is extended and time consuming to produce.
You want to have an equilibrium where it’s not too costly for new subscribers to sign up but you are still making enough money for it to be worthwhile. Consider it this way, if you charge $9.99 monthly and have 1, 000 subscribers, you’ll make $7,992 per month after OnlyFans requires their 20% charge.A lot of high performing OnlyFans creators have membership fees priced at $9.99 and even lower, so do not be afraid to begin off low.
Making money on OnlyFans
Now that your OnlyFans account is fully setup, is the time to start posting content to your feed. Whenever a fan sees your profile, they can see the number of photos, videos, audio, likes and fans you have.
Since your fans are spending money on access to your own content, you would like to make sure that you have a sensible amount of content available. To start adding content to your OnlyFans account, click on the Home icon and then go to “New Post”.
As you can see, OnlyFans give you many posting alternatives
Your monthly registration payment is not necessarily the only method you are able to generate income about OnlyFans, you could generate income through ideas and Pay Per View content. We will look at these methods in details below.
Ask for tips
Fans can send you tips by clicking the dollar icon under your posts or they can tip you through the messages. If you post high quality content, don’t be afraid to ask your fans to like your posts and tip you if they enjoy your content.
Sell custom content using tips and PPV messages
Sell items in exchange for a tip, you can sell both digital content and physical goods this way.
For example you could sell:
Workout plans in PDF format Meal plan PDF’s Physical recipe books Photos & videos Products you own that want to sell to your fans
When selling on OnlyFans, create a tip menu and list your items for sale plus the tip fee. Pin your tip menu to your profile and tell your fans to let you know what they’re tipping you for.
If you are selling digital products, wear them specific document folders so you can quickly publish and send them to fans after obtaining an order from your tip menu.
When selling physical products, try and adhere to small, lightweight products that are inexpensive to send to your fans. Take into account that you might need your subs phone number depending on the courier you use. If a contact number is needed for delivery, add it to your tip menu.
If you are shipping physical products utilizing a monitored shipping service, send your fan the tracking number to offer them peace of mind.To pin your tip menu to your OnlyFans profile, first post it, then click on the configurations button 3 dots next to your post and click “Pin to your profile page”.
Use mass messages to provide exclusive content
You can use OnlyFans mass messaging feature to provide exclusive content to your current subscribers. Instead of posting content on your feed for future subscribers to see, you can send a video, photo or a message to all of your current fans.
Since the content won’t be on your feed, only current subscribers will have access to it, making it exclusive. You can use this strategy on your social media accounts to gain new subscribers. For example you could post this to Twitter:
“For the next week only my subscribers will receive *exclusive content example*, after next week it will no longer be available”.
Whenever you send a bulk message, your current subscribers will usually have access to be able to this content included inside the message, whether or not they haven’t examined their account for a couple of days.
For this specific reason, mass messages are a great way to ensure your overall subscribers don’t overlook exclusive content material.
In the event you post exclusive content to your feed making use of the expired posts feature, current subscribers who don’t verify your feed in the course of that time frame won’t see the particular content, so stay to mass communications so your subscribers don’t miss away.Subscribers are having to pay to get additional access to you, access they wouldn’t normally get coming from other social media marketing systems, so use the exclusive messages to interact together with fans and post exclusive content associated with you they will not see anywhere else.
OnlyFans PPV Messages / Pay Per View Messages / Locked Messages / Locked Posts
You can make money on OnlyFans by sending out PPV messages to your subscribers, these messages are price locked so your fans can only view it if they pay. You can send photos, photo sets (up to 20 photos), audio tracks and videos, the minimum price you can set is $3.
You can also send PPV text messages to a particular subscriber, for instance you might have a subscriber that requested a custom picture or movie for $50, in this case you will send the PPV message to that fan exclusively.
To send a PPV message (or price locked message) on OnlyFans, click on the envelope icon on the top of the page, this will take you the the chat page. On the chat page click “New Message”, next tick the “All Subscribers” box and click “Next”.
Write your message and attach the media you want to send, then click the price tag icon to add your price for the content. Next click “Send” and you’re done.
Your own fans will become able to see what type of PPV content you have sent, with out seeing the specific content itself.
For example in case you send these people a, they will certainly see a blurry out preview graphic with the phrase “video”, the size of the video plus the price to unlock it.
In case you sent your fans a locked photo message they will see a new blurred out preview, the phrase “photo” in addition to the amount of photographs included in the particular message, as properly as the price to unlock that.As i have said earlier, if you have a free of charge OnlyFans account you can even price lock your posts which will require your subscribers to be able to pay for that one post before viewing it.
Promoting your account
OnlyFans lets you work promotions by offering fans a discounted registration.
You can arranged discounts to expire on a specific day, you can establish it for brand new subscribers only and you may set it in order to expire after a certain number of people have signed up. You can also make your account free for a while.
Discounted subscriptions encourages fans for taking a chance in signing up for your account, if they are unsatisfied they may cancel their revival.
If they like your content, congratulations! You now have a normal subscriber who will pay your regular price once their particular promotional month comes to an end.
Some people could have doubts about the value of your content, they might feel like your prices are too expensive. By running a promotion, you have a chance to prove to a potential subscriber that your content is worth the full price. For example your subscription usually costs $19.99, which is quite expensive, so you run a promo for $9.99 or even $4.99.If your usual pricing is expensive, this strategy will only work if the content you upload is generous and high quality. You need to prove to your fans that your high price tag is worth it.
Social media
To gain more subscribers to your OnlyFans account you can use social media to promote your account.According to Later, most online marketers follow the one cent per follower rule (or $100 per 10K followers). However you can occasionally pay $25 – $50 for promotion from influencers with 100 thousand followers
Use Snapchat to promote your OnlyFans page
Snapchat is great way to market your OnlyFans account, try to find well-liked Snapchat accounts with viewers who would be enthusiastic about your content.
For example if you operate a fitness OnlyFans, try to find fitness influencers, in case you produce Adult content look for adult influencers and so forth.
Once you have chosen an influencer, ask them to send an individual a screenshot of their insights, this is important for 5 causes:
1.According to Snapchat, only creators with large audiences have access to Insights. 2.You get to see how many views their stories got over the past week and month. 3.You get to see the total time Snapchatters have spent viewing their profile over the past week and month. 4.You get to see the percentage of male and female Snapchatters viewing their stories. 5.You get to see demographic information about their viewers, including age groups they are most popular with, average view time, story view percentage, lifestyle and popular regions.
Ideally you want a new Snapchat account together with at least several views in the particular last month to promote your OnlyFans account, the a lot more impressions your campaign gets, the more clicks and clients you gain.
When it comes to internet marketing the average conversion rate commonly falls around 2%, so you may utilize this to predict the amount of subscribers you will gain from a promotion right after receiving your influencers insights.
For example, with a 2% conversion rate, 1,000,000 impressions should get you at least 20,000 visitors and from those 20,000 visitors at least 400 should convert to subscribers. If your subscription price is $9.99 then you get $3996 in monthly revenue (400 x $9.99). Take away OnlyFans 20% fee and that leaves you with $3197 in monthly profit.
Use Reddit to promote your OnlyFans page
Reddit is a fantastic destination to market your OnlyFans account and get new subscribers. Create an account and look for subreddits associated to the sort of content that you write-up.
Before promoting your self on the subreddit be sure you read the subreddits rules, some subreddits enable self promotion whilst other don’t. You also desire to advertise your account upon multiple subreddits to improve your exposure.
Any time sharing your OnlyFans profile link, you must add your profile link in typically the comment section after making a post.
This particular is because links in Reddit article titles are not necessarily clickable, and considering that you will end up being posting image content you can not add a new description in your article.
So to ensure your current potential fans could get to your own profile easily, create your photo/image Reddit post (don’t forget to use a new catchy title) in addition to follow up with a remark together with your profile link.Reddit promotion will be especially great for influencers, gamers and adult content creators.
Use your social media accounts
Promote your OnlyFans account in your Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube accounts. If your OnlyFans feed contains nudity or adult articles, don’t post any nudity directly upon those sites aside from Snapchat in addition to Twitter which have a far more relaxed articles policy.Add your OnlyFans link in order to your bio upon all of your current social network accounts plus always use aesthetic media like pictures, gifs and movies to promote your current links
Twitter
Hook up your Twitter account so new posts are automatically shared with your followers. To increase your own click through rates, every time OnlyFans blogposts to your Tweets account, click the twitter update and choose “Retweet with Comment”. After that add a caption or summary along with an eye capturing image, gif or video. When the OnlyFans post is a movie you can use a screenshot, gif or short clip through the video to keep your followers a quick preview.Don’t just count on OnlyFans to write-up content to your own Twitter account, manually promote content oneself. Paste your OnlyFans link, write the summary and contain an image, video clip or gif.
Work with other OnlyFans creators
Spend or tip some other OnlyFans creators associated with influencers in exchange for them promoting your account to their fans. Before achieving this, the good to find out how many fans the creator has, therefore check their enthusiasts tab or request them to send a screenshot of these fan count.
Conclusion
OnlyFans is a great way to earn cash online if you have exclusive content to offer your fans.
Remember to post consistently in addition to connect to your subs to keep up your subscriber count.
I wish you found this specific guide helpful, once you learn anyone who works an OnlyFans account or plans about creating one, really feel free to reveal this guide with them.

You may have come to this page because you know me. You may have come because you found the link on social media, but either way - my name is Nikki and I am living with several major mental health conditions. I am a person living with bipolar II disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, ADHD, am in recovery from an eating disorder (bulimia nervosa) and have previously been diagnosed with major depressive disorder and persistent depressive disorder, before the bipolar II diagnosis. That's a lot. Mental health conditions tend to stack like that. But if you know me, you know I am very open about my experiences and what I have been through. If you have any questions about my experiences, feel free to contact me here, or in my instagram DMs: cosplayandcats or my Twitter DMs: @nmf1003.
Everyone's story is different. Mine started when I was a kid, but I didn't even start getting help until I was an older teen/young adult. And when I had my first breakdown and was hospitalized, NAMI was there for me, and especially for my parents. NAMI helped them learn about what was going on with me, and gave them support in a time that was confusing and scary. This sounds like a sales pitch, but it's true. And now, I work at NAMI PBC as a certified recovery peer specialist, where I use my story and my experiences to help others going through similar things.
NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness.
NAMI provides advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.
Please support me by MAKING A DONATION! Donating to NAMI through my page is easy, fast and secure.
This year, the NAMI Walk is Virtual - NAMIWALKS Your Way. By making a donation, you can vote on what I'm going to do, film, and upload to my personal Facebook and public YouTube channel on NAMIWalks day. It can be an exercise (for example, planking for x amount of time), or something silly (like taking a shaving cream pie to the face)...but please, keep it appropriate.
For every $10 donation, you get to add something that I will do. For every $5 donation, you can vote on things previously added by other people. I will include a poll once I get some things going. Or, if you would like, you can just donate! That would be appreciated as well.
Any little amount will help.
About 1 in 5 adults are living with a major mental health condition, and 1 in 20 are experiencing a severe mental health crisis. (Source )
Thank you for your time, and thank you for your donation.

Best And Worst Brands Of 2020: From TikTok, The NBA, The Home Depot And Chick-fil-A...To Quibi, Facebook And The CDC
New Post has been published on https://perfectirishgifts.com/best-and-worst-brands-of-2020-from-tiktok-the-nba-the-home-depot-and-chick-fil-a-to-quibi-facebook-and-the-cdc/
Best And Worst Brands Of 2020: From TikTok, The NBA, The Home Depot And Chick-fil-A...To Quibi, Facebook And The CDC
This year was unprecedented for so many reasons. For most of us, our heads haven’t stopped spinning since March. For brands, this was a year when many discovered if they really had a purpose that anchored their place in the world and if their actions and experiences backed up their words and promises.
Deciding on brand winners and losers is always a challenge, but this year, I had some of the fiercest debates yet with my 450 Prophet colleagues, as brand performance took on so many more dimensions in 2020.
A number of brands were debated. We discussed the impact that Kobe and LeBron had on the world, while also talking about the Tiger King as the first COVID-19 bingeable show. The team gave a lot of love to the early COVID-19 responders, including Unilever, 3M, P&G, KFC, Chipotle and Ford, while giving equal props to those that took an authentic, purpose-based stand on social justice, such as Nike, The North Face, REI, Ben & Jerry’s, Glossier and J&J. The brands that helped us get through lockdown and changed the way we think of delivered meals and goods, including DoorDash, GrubHub, UberEats, Instacart and, “newcomers” Target and Walmart all received a lot of votes. Similarly, the streamers got a lot of mentions, from Netflix to Hulu to Peacock and Apple TV, as did the connectors in Zoom, WebEx, Teams and the slowly dying Skype.
Our team engaged in some serious conversations about the differences in responses that Uncle Ben’s (now Ben’s Original) versus Aunt Jemima (we are still waiting) took or about how we will collectively sustain the incredible Black Lives Matter momentum. Finally, others wondered what shape Brand USA will take in 2021 and how we will be talking about Pfizer and Moderna a year from now.
So, while dozens stood out, these seven received our highest marks:
Chick-fil-A
Florida, Brooksville, Chick-fil-A, fast food chicken restaurant, drive thru line due to Pandemic.
While COVID-19 crushed the restaurant industry, Chick-fil-A’s immediate response and quick innovations explain why it’s become the world’s third largest and most beloved quick-service restaurant. It endeared itself to its growing number of fans by doubling down on drive-thru speed, including expanded lanes, “face-to-face ordering” and “order ahead pick up.” It is crushing it with their Chick-fil-A One app and enhanced delivery options, accelerating new innovations such as meal kits and their famous sauces in grocery stores…all while still bringing “my pleasure” southern hospitality to life every day to millions.
Clorox

While this brand has long soared in our Prophet Brand Relevance Index® it took on an entirely new meaning in the virus-dominated universe of 2020. As consumers clamored for reliable ways to protect their families, the brand gracefully acknowledged supply-chain problems and shortages while becoming indispensable in our lives. With smart partnerships, like United Airlines and the Cleveland Clinic, it’s using its trustworthiness to increase sales and market share.
The Home Depot

This year’s WFH trends helped propel the Home Depot’s business as “Doers Got More Done.” What helped drive and accelerate this is its investment, commitment and leadership. The Home Depot continues to lead the industry in inter-connected digital experiences and e-commerce, customer service, products and pricing. Its commitment to customer and employee safety (and giving back to the community) has been second to none in the retail industry, as has its commitment to professional customers.
TikTok

While TikTok was in the news for various reasons in 2020, its incredible timing met a moment when many needed ten seconds of relief from the real world. With over 100 million users in the U.S., TikTok has rapidly become part of our cultural lexicon. TikTok’s short-form viral videos, including its dance challenges and Ocean Spray “Dreams” video, took our minds off all things serious. From a niche player to mainstream media, this renegade has become so relevant that other platforms, like Instagram with its “Reels,” are racing to catch up.
The National Basketball Association
LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLORIDA – AUGUST 27: The Black Lives Matter logo is seen on an empty court as all … [] NBA playoff games. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)
In a year of so many sports disappointments, the league, individual teams and countless players have demonstrated the best reactions to both COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter. With its bubble, the NBA showed a thoughtful, empathic balance between athletic safety and happy fans. With its unapologetic embrace of racial-justice efforts, as expressed on each player’s jersey, it’s using its stage to change the hearts and minds of its strong fanbase.
Zoom
President Barack Obama “crashes” Zoom board meeting for the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
Love it. Hate it. It doesn’t matter. Triple-digit gains prove Zoom found new relevance in wildly diverse audiences, from COVID-19 stranded senior citizens to energetic preschoolers. If you didn’t know what a virtual background was or used the words “you’re on mute, Scott,” you certainly do now. With a ridiculous stock price and valuation, continuous new features and updates through Zapps (a suite of apps integrated into Zoom), as well as fun innovations like video filters, Zoom will continue to be an integral part of our lives for years to come.
Peloton
This workout-from-home brand started the year by offending an entire gender with its tone-deaf holiday ad. (Note to husbands: It’s inadvisable to tell your wife to work out more.) But as gyms around the world shut down, it understood that it had a unique opportunity to make family-room workouts an integral part of people’s health and wellness. With bikes, treadmills and increasingly appealing subscription offers (90 days free for all), Peloton hit on all cylinders in 2020.
And the brands that disappointed us the most:
Uncle Ben’s, Aunt Jemima and Land O’Lakes
LONDON: A customer’s hand taking a packet of Uncle Ben’s rice. The brand is to change the image of a … [] black farmer and could also be forced to change its name, as a reaction to a backlash over racial injustice.
While all of these storied brands announced they were making changes, it took a full-on social uprising for Mars Foods, PepsiCo and Land O’Lakes to address their decades-old history of racist brand imagery. All have done the right things in starting to address the issue. Uncle Ben has given way to Ben’s Original Rice, for example, and Land O’ Lakes has removed the Native American woman from its logo. But none have explained why it took them so long.
Boeing
The Boeing 737 MAX will take another key step in its comeback to commercial travel on December 2, … [] 2020 by attempting to reassure the public with a test flight by American Airlines conducted for the news media.
Even as the nearly two-year grounding of Boeing 737 Max comes to an end and the company moves to again sells its planes, we saw plenty to disappoint us. Not only did the safety oversights and mismanagement result in tragedies in 2018 and 2019, but it also cost as much as $25 billion. And now, it has to sell the canceled planes to airlines at steep discounts, a blow to shareholders and what was once one of the most admired names in U.S. manufacturing. COVID-19 is continuing Boeing’s misery, with global air travel falling 66 percent.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control
CDC Logo
In what should have been the least controversial voice in American public health, CDC leadership allowed politics to drag it away from its central aim. It bumbled COVID-19 testing. Early on, it offered vague and contradictory guidance on masks. And while it certainly isn’t entirely to blame for the epidemic of misinformation sweeping the U.S., it didn’t do enough to stop it.
Facebook
(Photo illustration by Jakub Porzycki/NurPhoto via Getty Images)
Even in an industry rife with possible villains, Facebook still manages to wind up on the wrong side of history in just about everything. As a repeat offender from our 2018 list, Facebook’s role in misinformation regarding the pandemic, vaccinations and elections continued to make it harder and harder to trust the brand. Adding insult to injury, after dealing with a much deserved summer boycott, Facebook now faces a major lawsuit with the Federal Trade Commission (and 40 states) arguing it’s time to break this company up.
Quibi
People wearing masks walk past an advertisement for Quibi in a subway Station on October 22, 2020 in … [] New York City. On October 21st, Quibi’s founders announced it was shutting down its service after only six months of operation.
It could have sparked a content revolution. But Quibi, specializing in short-form content “chapters” of less than 10 minutes, failed spectacularly. In a world with fewer commuters, the idea just wasn’t compelling. Of the $1.75 billion it raised, it is returning just $350 million to investors. But we do think chief executive Meg Whitman deserves praise for pulling the plug at six months, instead of torturing both investors and the few viewers leveraging its platform.
What do you think of our list? Who would you add? Add your thoughts to the comments below.
Keep your eye out for Prophet‘s Brand Relevance Index – launching early 2021.

36th NCBD: Br. Armin A. Luistro FSC Keynote Address
36th National Children’s Book Day Mundong Payapa para sa Kabataang Malaya Keynote—Br. Armin A. Luistro FSC
Greetings to our National Artist for Literature, Virgilio Almario; the Chair of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Icon of the Universe, Margie Moran; the CCP Vice Chair and Artistic Director, Chris Millado; the Chair of the National Book Development Board, Neni Sta. Romana-Cruz; the Chair of Museo Pambata, Nina Lim-Yuson; the Philippine Board on Books for Young People Chair, Tarie Sabido, and its Secretary General, Ani Rosa Almario; and the Director of the National Library, Cesar Gilbert Adriano. Distinguished guests, esteemed colleagues in the academe, ladies and gentlemen: Magandang Umaga po sa inyong lahat!
While exiled in Dapitan, Jose Rizal in 1895 described his experience in a sober disposition with resigned serenity and undiminished hope. When I consider our political landscape today, I must admit I am tempted to greedily appropriate these lines for myself (and here I quote a few lines in its Filipino translation):
Gabi’y bumubulong sa gitna ng sindak at pagkaligalig, At sa dagat nama’y bughaw’t lunting apoy ang pasilip-silip; Pagngiti ng araw’y payapa na naman ang buong paligid, At mula sa laot, yaong mangingisda ay napagigilid, Sugod na ang lunday at ang mga alon ay nananahimik.
* * *
One might ask why Pepe even bothered to write? Was it his mother egging him or Josephine? Was the motivation from within or was there pressure from without? Was he driven by altruism or was it pure ego? In his essay ‘Why I Write’, George Orwell names four motives for writing: (a) sheer egoism or the desire to seem clever, to be talked about, to be remembered after death; (b) aesthetic enthusiasm or the perception of beauty in the external world or in words and their right arrangement; (c) historical impulse or the desire to see things as they are; and finally (d) political purpose and here I quote Orwell’s own description of his motivation:
What I have most wanted to do… is to make political writing into an art. My starting point is always a feeling of partisanship, a sense of injustice. When I sit down to write a book, I do not say to myself, ‘I am going to produce a work of art’. I write it because there is some lie that I want to expose, some fact to which I want to draw attention, and my initial concern is to get a hearing. But I could not do the work of writing… if it were not also an aesthetic experience. Anyone who cares to examine my work will see that even when it is downright propaganda it contains much that a full-time politician would consider irrelevant…. The job is to reconcile my ingrained likes and dislikes with the essentially public, non-individual activities that this age forces on all of us.
And so today we gather to celebrate National Children’s Book Day. Compulsive bibliophiles and impassioned pedagogues are welcome. Anyone who sincerely love and respect children must share in our jubilation. During the early years of the K to 12 reform, when we were rolling out the MTB-MLE program ‘like a woman in labor, gasping and panting’, we were confronted with the huge problem of the lack of original stories in the mother tongue that could be used for the primary grades. What we had were translations of the usual publications in English and Filipino. But while these old-time favorites were great stories and classics in their own right, they did not speak the language, culture and traditions that were familiar with the first-time readers. We found the solution by appealing to our public school teachers to gather oral traditions and to document original stories from the local communities. When I went around our primary schools a year or two later, I found much joy and pride in the teachers’ presentation of original stories from the localities in a big book version authored and illustrated by our own teachers. By now, there must be hundreds of original stories out there in the field and used in the classrooms obviously requiring some editorial intervention but definitely ready to be harvested into an anthology of original Filipino stories in the mother tongue.
We encountered the same problem when DepED shifted to local history as the starting point for Araling Panlipunan. Since most barangays or municipalities do not have adequate publications on their local histories, it was close to impossible to get any essays or resources on local heroes and community chronicles. Our DepED teachers again came to the rescue and did their own share in compiling articles and pictures and sources so students could begin to know the Philippines and the world with their hometown as anchor for their historical journey. Would anyone have the discipline and the patriotism to gather those materials and work with our teachers and the local communities to further develop the collection into a serious publication?
In our celebration today, we especially welcome our esteemed writers and chroniclers, essayists and poets, novelists and biographers, illustrators and artists, publishers and editors. We are rolling out the red carpet to those who are gifted—nay, compelled—to write because they have a story to tell, or a lie to expose, or history to be recorded, or beauty to be captured. Do not worry if egoism gets in the way, for that will eventually sort itself out. But write as though it were your life-blood. Write as though this nation’s very existence lies on the tip of your quill. This nation is in search of its soul and you cannot allow money or politics or armaments to continue to dangle their empty promises or to resurrect the ghosts of yesteryears. In the words of Carlos P. Romulo, the might of your pen may yet bring every Filipino to discover that: “The seed I bear within me is an immortal seed… It is the insignia of my race, and my generation is but a stage in the unending search of my people for freedom and happiness.”
I must warn you though: if you wish to take your mission seriously, then have courage! Pepe and many others during his time were martyred because they dared write. In another era and cultural milieu, the same fate befell an eminent scholar and a genius of translation, William Tyndale, who translated the Bible directly from Hebrew and Greek into English. Referring to the English language while comparing him to William Shakespeare, Hannah Bowers writes:
Tyndale was burned alive in a small town in Belgium in 1536. His crime was to have translated the Bible into English. He was effectively martyred after fighting against cruel and eventually overwhelming forces, which tried for more than a dozen years to prevent him from putting the Word of God into his native language. More than any other man he laid the foundation of our modern language which became by degrees a world language. His legacy matches that other pillar of our language – Shakespeare, whose genius was in imagination.
From an era when books were unavailable, the first printing press has revolutionized the landscape and made books available to ordinary people. That may yet be the most critical challenge for us in the Philippines. Fast-forward to the 21st century, we find that access to digitized resources has become a real game-changer in our world. In fact, by the end of 2017, there were already 4.2 billion internet users representing 54.4% of the world’s population. It was the same year when Thomas Friedman, writing in the New York Times, took note of a critical moment of history that is now irreversible:
And so it came to pass that in the winter of 2016 the world hit a tipping point…when we realized that a critical mass of our lives and work had shifted away from the terrestrial world to a realm known as “cyberspace.” That is to say, a critical mass of our interactions had moved to a realm where we’re all connected but no one’s in charge.
After all, there are no stoplights in cyberspace, no police officers walking the beat, no courts, no judges, no God who smites evil and rewards good…
That seems to me like a mirror image of what is happening in the country today where news—or rather, fake news—is written by trolls and boosts and bots who rule in this era where populism is deified and where surveys and polls and votes of the majority stir the pot of violence and division. As the movers and shakers add chaos to the confusion, the thinkers and visionaries are nowhere to be found. I long to hear the voice of our poets and writers and artists where the nation’s soul resides.
Well, the truth is that the gains of the 3rd industrial revolution has become a real affliction for me as there are moments when I truly long to go on self-imposed exile into an island with no wifi connection and where I can get my downtime from viber and instagram and whatsapp… watch sunsets, smell flowers, sip Barako coffee and simply turn the pages of a good read under the shades of a century-old Narra. Iyan na siguro ang bunga ng aking pangangarap ng gising para sa isang Mundong Payapa para sa Kabataang Malaya! If we were to give every Filipino child that “downtime” to seek that which “only the heart can see rightly” by offering them the stories that can only come from our forebears and can only be told and written by Filipinos, then we would certainly have the joy of creating a nation for our children which the other Pepe, surnamed Diokno, dreamed of:
A NOBLE nation, where homage is paid not to who a person is or what the person owns, but to what the person is and what the person does. A PROUD nation, where poverty chains no man to the plow, forces no woman to prostitute herself and condemns no child to scrounge among garbage. A FREE nation, where men and women and children from all regions and with all kinds of talents may find truth and play and sing and laugh and dance and love without fear. A JUST nation… where poverty, ignorance, and hunger are attacked… every breadwinner, a job… every farmer, a land… every family, a home… and everyone, a steadily improving quality of life. An INDEPENDENT nation, which rejects foreign dictation, depends on itself, thinks for itself, and decides for itself… An HONORABLE nation where public powers are used for the public good… where leaders speak not only well but truthfully and act honestly; a nation that is itself and seeks to live in peace and brotherhood with all other nations of the world.
On this 36th National Children’s Book Day celebration, with the might of our pens and courage in our hearts, let us proclaim this truth and claim it as our very own. Magandang umaga po sa inyong lahat.

Social Media Wk 13
What the social media activity is that they are analysing (e.g. photo competition on Instagram, ‘vote’ for your favourite footy jumper on Facebook; match updates on Twitter; breaking news story on website/Facebook/Twitter; program clip on YouTube etc.).
The final discussion for the semester was on great social media campaigns, so this week I’ve chosen to analyse Formula One driver, Daniel Ricciardo’s sponsored video post with BeatsByDre on Instagram. The video is an engaging 1 minute of Daniel narrating his racing journey while clips of him are shown of him wearing the beats by Dre headphones while working out and of him driving fast. The message of the campaign is ‘tuning out the noise with a little help from @beatsbydre.’
(Image above: A screenshot of Daniel’s BeatsbyDre post, (Instagram.com, 2022). ▪ Who is leading the campaign and who is involved (e.g. a sporting organisation, an athlete or a corporate organisation as part of a sponsorship).
Daniel is the race of the campaign leading it with him throughout the whole clip, but Beats by Dre are the creators of it.
▪ What are the major tools being used (e.g. video, image, text, competition, poll, audio etc.).
The most prominent tool they've used is not only Daniel but multiple engaging video clips that make the campaign all the more compelling than a simple image would in promoting in the headphone brand. As well as use of sound dynamics, such as replicating the noise-cancelling feeling of wearing the product when Daniel talks about it.
▪ Where they saw it and if/how they engaged with it (e.g. like/comment/shared the content, entered a competition, watched a video on the YouTube channel, watch a sports broadcast on a digital platform etc.)
Given I follow Daniel on Instagram, I was quick to see the post both in my feed and on his story. I liked and saved the post.
▪ Critical reflection (how does this relate to what we’ve discussed in class? Where possible, link it to the subject topics that we’ve focussed on in our lectures and tutorials. Also state what you think about the social media activity: i.e. was it an effective competition? Was it a good image? Did it provide you with a positive experience? Was the video engaging? Did you engage with it? Was the content interesting
This post by Daniel, I believe is a successful campaign as it’s not only very well-made but because of the way it’s made, makes it engaging with his voiceover, him doing a variety of his everyday actions, choice of background noise and including that sense of noise-cancelling and focused sound. This relates to the topic of this week’s class as it is an example of a successful campaign. He received 1.1 million views, 103 thousand likes and 277 comments. Those numbers were substantially more than his previous sponsored post with only 1 million views and just 85 thousand likes.
(Image above: A screenshot of the views Daniel got on the post, (Instagram.com, 2022).

Interactive add-ons for in-feed ads on TikTok
TikTok announced their rollout of interactive add-ons for in-feed ads. The update aims at offering a way for brands to create more engaging ads on the platform with the newly added popups, stickers and other visual elements. Interestingly, TikTok tiered these new features into a standard and premium provisions as displayed below.
According to TikTok, the add-ons include:
Pop-out Showcase, which is a product pop-up at the end of the video
Gesture, an interactive display card to prompt swipes and gamify the product interactions, and drive conversions
Super Like, animated reactions
Display Card, which would appear at the bottom of the user screen to provide context for the promotion in the video
Gift Code Sticker, to personalize reward experience for users
Voting and Countdown stickers, which are similar to the poll and countdown features on Instagram stories
This update from TikTok is for sure seen as an act of catching up with ad provisions like other well-matured social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Snap. I previously discussed TikTok’s disadvantages in inserting ads, specifically video ads because of the platform’s short video limit. However, with its recent launch of 10-minute videos and these new add-ons, these interactive stickers and seconds-long animated ads would be some of TikTok’s first efforts to achieve both an ad revenue while sticking with its short form and fast-paced content environment. TikTok also continues to appeal these new features to advertisers with data about its engaged users, where 57% of viewers are more likely to search for brand information when they are in contact with businesses on TikTok and that active sharers are significantly more like to visit physical stores and land on a purchase.
Following, I would like to learn more about how these interactive ad pricing may be similar or different from that on Facebook Business Suite and Google Ads, and how well they are going to help brands drive web traffic, consumer engagement and sales in the coming months.

First of all, you need to think positively to get Instagram auto follow, you have to point out or you are fully optimized for your instagram account. It fully means that your instagram account given Bio or Username to be optimized that tells you about your latest brand. And you have to add full details about your products or offers or latest news etc. in your bio so that everyone must know the benefits of joining your brands.
So optimize your username, which is the important thing because when you search anyone with the same brand name and your brand name is not the same and does not show in the search options then it is the use of the social media platform. Try to use the same name of your brand name or username at first letter or last. It is very important to rank your username with brands, it shows at the toppest part on your instagram account.
keep a old messages on your post
Instagram is expecting to get followers by posting the message or the reactions any time. If you are doing that all steps to stop here because these all look a very bad impression on the clients. They will know about your new product launch or messages come on your Instagram Account. So, I was making a posting with logical content with emoji either once a week or once a day.
Use Brand with Caption on Post
The Instagram Caption is one of the important things to promote our product or brand and business page because if you do not use the caption in your posts or not used so it is wrong, how will the audience get to know your products type or what is your goal to promote your business? And try to use captions on all your products with your brand name and the post of your images with the product you have published.
Instagram Posts in Advance Maintenance
You should maintain Instagram post saves in your accounts that helps you get instagram auto follow very fast and permanent followers. Instagram Auto follows that would be helpful for your business. We can take an example of a movie, before realising the new movie.

How These Brands Are Using Instagram Story Ads in Creative Ways
Instagram stories are one of the most effective ways to connect with your audience on social media. They have great organic reach and offer an engaging format to put across strong content. Stories are one of the most popular features of Instagram, and they offer a powerful landscape for businesses to advertise on.
Using Instagram story ads can be incredibly rewarding, but you also need the right kind of content for success. The ads should be creative, engaging, captivating, and fast. High-converting ads shouldn’t be too salesy, and they need to stand out from the huge amount of competition. If you get it wrong, viewers will swipe past your ad in seconds. If you get it right, prepare for a huge boost in your customers.
Let’s take a look at some amazing examples of how brands are using story ads to come up with creative, powerful Instagram marketing campaigns that set them apart from the rest.
Spotify
Spotify knows that the secret to successful Instagram story ads comes from simplicity. Stories move quickly, and Instagram users absorb ads in a matter of seconds. This is why Spotify creates story ads that can be taken in and understood instantly.
The music streaming giant uses striking photographs and crisp, clear copy. A good example of this would be an ad with the wording “Play on-demand, offline, everywhere”. This instantly lets you know exactly what Spotify offers and what type of value you can get from them. An overview of their entire offering is only communicated in 5 words.
The brand’s use of bright colors and bold imagery helps to catch the attention of Instagram users and promotes a sense of fun. If you see their ads, you instantly understand what Spotify offers without having to hang around and think. This quick connection is essential for successful Instagram ads.
What You Can Learn From This
When it comes to your own Instagram story ads, make sure that they are easily digestible. This is the golden rule for ads that need to be absorbed within a few seconds. Use short, compelling copy and bright, bold imagery. Try to use colors that don’t blend in with everything else.
Walmart
There are various features that you can add to your Instagram story ads to reach better levels of engagement - such as polls. Walmart is the expert at using polls in their Instagram story ads to capture attention, boost engagement, and entice more customers.
Walmarts story ads ask simple questions that everyone has their own thoughts on. The questions relate to Walmarts products, helping them to entice viewers and get them thinking about things they can buy at Walmart. When you see their ads, you are immediately intrigued to cast your vote and check out the results of the poll. This leads to viewers starting a course of action which makes it more likely for them to swipe up.
What Can You Learn From This
Putting out ads that viewers can engage with makes it much more likely that they will swipe up and head to your store. Using a simple poll is an easy way to get Instagram users to stop on your ad, interact with it, and build a higher level of interest. Instead of just selling something and promoting your products in a straightforward way, it’s a great idea to get viewers thinking about your products and bringing their own opinions and experiences into your ad.
The North Face
The North Face knows how to create simple ads that are intriguing but not overly salesy. Their content combines attractive shots of their products with fun, simple messaging. For example, an Instagram story ad of theirs advertising different types of sleeping bags reads “Whether you’re single” with an image of a single sleeping bag, “Whether you’re taken” with an image of a double sleeping bag, “Don’t swipe right, swipe up to match the perfect bag”.
This kind of messaging is fun and incredibly easy to digest. It gets the viewer interested and entertained, with a good way of luring them to swipe up to shop. An ad like this is effective in its simplicity.
What You Can Learn From This
Take a fun approach to advertise your products. Don’t be afraid to entertain the viewer. There are many different ways that you can convey your messaging, and the best approach is to not be too directly salesy.
Rather, try to grab the audience’s attention through other clever approaches. The North Face compares their products to the viewer’s lifestyle and gets them to visit their shop with a light-hearted way of saying swipe up. The ads perfectly show off The North Face’s products, but they aren’t trying too hard when it comes to selling you their sleeping bags.
Nike
Nike is always a leading force when it comes to advertising, mainly thanks to their huge budgets. While this brand may have the resources to run hundreds of ads targeted towards various Instagram users, they still keep things simple for maximum impact.
Nike uses bright colors, bold imagery, and short, powerful messages. The sheer simplicity of their ads makes them stand out. They are able to grab attention through bright colors, captivating taglines, and fresh product shots.
What You Can Learn From This
When it comes to Instagram story ads, less is more. Instead of providing detailed product descriptions or lengthy sales pitches, capture the viewer’s attention by being bold and simple. Condense your copy into a handful of words, and make your images stand out with strong colors and interesting angles. Instagram stories move quickly, so creating simple punchy ads is essential for gathering more attention.
Udemy
Udemy uses the same ad visuals across their social media platforms. Their Instagram stories ads are perfectly adapted for this style. They use copy that is clear and to the point, matching up with the images used.
Their compelling copy will explain exactly how a course through Udemy can enhance your life without using too many words. The related images are just as clear and concise. This allows the viewer to absorb all the information they need to put across with minimal explanations. Udemy is fantastic at condensing a lot of, potentially technical, information into a clear, simple format.
What You Can Learn From This
Even a business like Udemy that offers loads of information needs to find a way to convey its messaging in an easily digestible format. Make sure that your copy is clear, and that it offers something to the viewer. You can repurpose the same social media marketing content across your ads, just make sure that it is optimized for its use.
Netflix
Netflix uses its Instagram story ads to entice viewers to sign up for a 30-day free trial. Their ad has a clear offer at the end which helps to generate a response and reason for swiping up. Netflix grabs attention by showing a short highlight reel of some of their top shows.
This approach is classic and effective. Netflix gives the viewer a taste of what they offer and then entices them with a free trial.
What You Can Learn From This
No matter how good your ad content is, it doesn’t really do anything if it isn’t drawing in the viewer’s attention with an offer. Netflix offers an accessible, actionable step to get customers on board by offering a free trial. Use your ads to get customers to your product pages, signing up for your email marketing list, or something similar. Don’t just promote products and hope that they will search for them.
By using a showreel in their ads, they are clearly displaying what they offer and how Netflix can be enjoyed. When running your own ads, try to create content that sells itself. There’s no need to overexplain things, rather just offer a clear depiction of what you sell and why it has value.
Calm
Most Instagram story ads try to hook you in through enticing visuals and powerful messaging. Calm simply tells you to stop right where you are. This meditation app uses video in its ads for a more engaging format. The brand directs the viewer to take a break and slow down. This is in line with their product offering, and it helps to keep people on their ad, listening to more.
By instructing the viewer to slow down and breathe, Calm is also offering a type of quick look into what their product can do. If the viewer enjoys the few seconds that they spent relaxing during the Calm ad, they might be inspired to download the app.
What You Can Learn From This
Video is a powerful format for Instagram story ads that shouldn’t be overlooked. If you choose a video, make sure to hook the viewer in straight away. Calm offers some insight into their app and its values by getting users to slow down and pause on their ad. Try to incorporate what your brand can do to help the viewer in your ad, and not just what your brand sells. If the viewer can get a small taste of how your product is beneficial, they will likely want to find out more.
Conclusion
With roughly one billion users worldwide, Instagram is an essential platform for your business to advertise on. Stories are one of the popular features of this social media app, and they are an engaging way to get your ads out to the masses. While there is so much room for success, you need to make sure that your Instagram ads are suitable for their purpose. Successful story ads can make up an important part of your marketing funnel.
Instagram story ads that do it wrong will lose viewers’ attention straight away. There is such a small window for these ads to be effective, so marketers need to make sure that they pull in the viewer from the very first second they see the ad. Use the creative examples above to help inspire your own Instagram story ads for better results. The smallest details can go a long way.
