AO3 is still mum on ai generated text being presented and archived as fic. While I would love to have it banned and nuke every one from the site, I think it might be safer to allow it and encourage the posters to tag correctly so that they can be blocked.

My fear is that banning ai generated text will just lead to people not tagging it as such, and then we'll be playing whackamole trying to flag untagged fics, and in the process, we'll take out authors that *are* writing, and for whatever reason their work gets flagged. Hopefully it would be an accident, but I can also see malicious actors flagging a real author as using AI in order to get them banned.

So this is bullshit and really scummy, but this person is clearly not going to change. Block and move on. Perhaps if they get zero engagement on anything they post moving forward, they'll give up.

Krejjh has had more time to adjust -and they also had more time to come to terms with leaving their people behind/they were not under direct threat. That shows a lot in...is it Deep Breath or Ties when they're discussing Eejjhgreb & reconnecting with family? (Im on mobile. Every time I switch tabs my text vanishes 🙄)

RJ's sadness over the separation is so much more raw than Krejjh, who sounds pretty worn -still sad, just less desperate and more resigned.

I was actually just thinking about RJ & Krejjh/Brian earlier when I was driving. At the end of Resupply, RJ starts to go to their room on their own. They seem relatively okay - mocking chuck weathers might be a self soothing behavior, but they had a pretty generative conversation with Arkady, moreso, I would say, than the conversation the two of them have after RJ kills Nan, which happens longer after the fact and Arkady is less equiped to help then than she is now.

Uhhh...point. Brian reaches out & asks RJ to hang out with him & Krejjh.

Arkady tells us in Reunion that RJ & Brian are close, which makes sense. They've been stuck on Mirzakani for months, they like the same media, they've continued building their friendship. I think RJ is really... touched? Excited? Surprised? That Brian still wants to hang out with them, despite the fact that he could have this time with Krejjh.

It wouldn't even necessarily be a slight on their friendship, if Brian wanted to have time with Krejjh to himself — Krejjh is his spouse, and they've been separated for months with only brief visits.

So the fact that Brian (& Krejjh, because if Krejjh wanted Brian all to themself, they'd say so) want RJ to hang out & Participate in such thrilling Activities as playing I Spy in Space.... RJ & I are both having Big Feelings about this.

Krejjh is described (by McCabe) in s1 as “a young Dwarnian”. While we actually have no idea what the Dwarnian lifespan is) I doubt Krejjh is as older than them as the rest of the cast is (at least, comparatively) and given that they haven’t been in contact with their family for a few years they were likely probably around McCabe’s age (again, comparatively) when they defected. So both took a very drastic step away from both their families and their governments at a fairly young age. Both were probably “prodigies” in a sense; RJ’s sharpshooting and Krejjh’s flying are skills that have gotten them a lot of attention and that were weaponized by their respective governments (with the main difference being that Krejjh enjoys flying and doing so isn’t bad for them). They also both presumably come from relative privilege and from important families where status holds a lot of weight— with RJ’s reference to their family’s influence on Martineau and the amount that their “climbing the ranks” was apparently bragged about— that both are now estranged from.

Anyways. Just throwing this all out there.
