#farshores learns modding#no luck so far - the easiest one for me to follow step by step aint producing any results RIP#i might just bite the bullet and try and play around with CK#cus im guessing theres a step missing in the vid cus im not getting the same responses at all - F in chat lads#but fr theres like....a distinct lack of clear tutorials on this im surprised#also everything uses MO2 so like...as a vortex user i gotta scramble to find where the files are plopped....#if i figure this out i might try and do a vortex friendly npc replacer tutorial ngl#rambling

welp, got it imported (using KS locs just so i dont have hair in the way of the face lol)
gonna play with sculpting a bit more tho - try & get used to the feature before i deep dive into the slider details lol
#theres a neck seam but i think thats because i have HIMBO active atm so it mess with the body shape n everything#cus he's at the weight n height he has in follower form#anywho might try n use my drawing tablet to sculpt it feels so slippery with mouse#tattoo did not carry over but it's cool we're gonna figure out#but hey!! learning experience lmao - lowkey want to keep some resemblance to his OG look? or have some inspo from the pandorable v#ersion....which im actually realizing i might need to check if that hopped over with the nif i think i didnt disable it when on my nif hunt#rambling#farshores learns modding

I gave up trying to sculpt the ears to look more round - im so used to Maya that RM’s sculpting menu is making me go into a fit lol

i accidentally saved over my preset for the Kai replacer i’ve been messing around with on n off but hey i think i fixed it up
still gonna mess around w it cus augh im awful w/ faces n not sure if im happy with it. also need to figure out why racemenu keeps changing back the skin tone when opening it back up for more tweaks 🤔

i gotta get a plug-in controller for this stuff cus man i hate using mouse and keyboard to walk around & it’s a pain to set up bluetooth if the game is running
buuut tryna figure out a look for replacer idea #359, this time Xelzaz flavored lol. Also, total coincidence that i was plopped into Solstheim, I chose random for the docks alt start.
I haven’t touched on Xel’s face shape atm, I’m more or less tryna figure out the face paint (+ potential body paint but idk, maybe one of the scale patterns but nothing too detailed since you aint gonna see it most of the time) AND may or may not be trying to see if i can port the nif to Blendr or my student version of Maya to sculpt. Cus oof do i not rlly like the sculpting tool in RaceMenu

the fact that texture replacing can be this simple is giving me too much power
which is quickly nerfed by the fact i uh....never did pay attention to graphic design but hey im learning about uvs n such for my 3d certification so i’ll figure it out if i ever want to do something bigger than a little cape replacer lol
