Season 5 of bsd was such a time to be alive. Manga readers being a little wary of the anime release since it seems too close to the current manga arc. As more episodes are released, the fans grow more and more concerned as to how the season will continue while running out of manga content. But no, everyone calmed down for a second because the skk gunshot scene was released after season 5 started airing and inevitably after the episodes were completely prepared, so there's no way we'll see it in animation now. Now we're like, shit, will the anime just make up some filler to finish the season? Or could they possibly switch to a light novel at some point? As we contemplate this, the skk gunshot scene is actually animated, and now everyone has lost their goddamn mind and we're all confused as hell because the anime has weirdly caught up to the manga in an arc where, mind you, the world is quite literally ending and war is starting and 90% of the cast is dead dying or missing. And it all comes down to a finale that has united both manga readers and anime watchers in terms of having no knowledge as to what the fuck is going to happen next. It didn't matter where you were in the fandom—everyone was freaking out. It was glorious. It was peak human experience. It is one for the history books.

So the Chucky series has been cancelled…

I expected this and I’m not that surprised. I’m gonna be honest, I’m kinda relieved. I hated what canon did to most, if not all, of the characters. And I’ve been successfully gaslighting myself for ages that their canon isn’t real and my AUs that I’ve created here are actually canon.

The only thing I’m worried about is the fandom dying out and being left alone. I’ve met so many wonderful people in this fandom, it’s one of the good things the show brought to me. I love talking to y’all, to share my ideas with you and to hear your ideas as well. It would genuinely break my heart if I wasn’t able to do that anymore.

So please don’t leave the fandom and leave me all alone. I don’t have abandonment issues but…yes I do have a bit of abandonment issues, I just love you all so much and you guys feed into my delusional ideas—

Losing it over the fact that the latest episode started with Laszlo (seemingly) completely dejected and despondent, everyone in the house individually convinced that it’s all their fault, and then halfway through dropped Nadja’s detached “maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad thing if we ended up dying?” like a fucking brick but then devoted the final part of the episode to showing that despite the monotony and endlessness inherent to their lives, these weirdos all have so much care and love and devotion for one another even when it’s in spite of themselves, that they all derive so much meaning from their relationships with each other, choosing to end on the note of the Baron’s “I suppose with the right company, it can be beautiful, this eternal existence.” Screaming crying throwing up et cetera

I finally realized with the latest episode that just like last season Lower Decks edited out spoilers from the trailer. Last year, they edited out that the lower deckers had been promoted to lieutenants junior grade. This year, they edited out Boimler's progression in growing facial hair. (There could be other things that were edited out for all I know. But this is the only thing that stood out to me.)

BTW, Boimler's solution to avoiding death from the pain sticks was very much in keeping with the Trek theme of applying scientific and technical knowledge to overcome deadly perils.

Also, I wonder if Boimler's change in facial hair is a subtle easter egg about how Avery Brooks had to fight the a-hole Paramount execs to have the look he wanted which he finally got in season 4 of DS9. If you've never read The Fifty Year Mission, the execs were nervous about Brooks looking like a powerful black man.
