Helis:
Age: mid 30s (mid 20s human equivalent)
Color Identity: green/red/black
Race: elf (phoenix-aligned)
Plane of Origin: Perenia (fanplane)
First Planeswalk: Potentially Theros?
Magic Powers: Mana generation (specifically red, green, and black. Ritual type spells in game), pyromancy (direct damage that is fire flavored), and necromancy (some creature recursion)
Proficiencies: Ever an optimist and he knows how to have fun. He is a party boy. Helis is very good at making the best out of a bad situation. He is a great dancer, both organized and structured dances (thanks to one of his moms) and just going to the flow of the music. Helis is no master chef but he is very good at grilling/any cooking involving an open fire. He is also good at making junk food (probably terrible for you but tastes so good!) Helis’ talent for mana generation stems from a deep connection to the land/leylines though he doesn’t consciously know that. He is not exactly a good tracker or anything but can usually find his way by subconsciously following lines of energy that feel right. Helis knows how to be a sweet-talker but that doesn’t always work in is favor and he is not afraid to bail via planeswalking if that doesn’t get him out of hot water.
Backstory: Helis has lived a pretty comfortable life. He grew up an adored only-child to his three loving parents (two moms and a dad). Each parent prefers a different province of Perenia so they would travel a lot, usually following the seasons. When Helis was a pre-teen, the four of them were able to get a very close viewing of the rebirth of the Autumn Incarnation, Poulios the phoenix, and Helis was able to look him in the eye. His pure elation of the connection he felt ignited his spark. He was confused but able to make his way back home almost immediately (he needed to be there for the rest of the autumn festival!) His parents kind of thought he just slipped away for a second and it wasn’t until a few days later that the four of them kind of figured out what happened. Planeswalkers are a known phenomenon on Perenia so his parents were able to explain it to him despite none of them being walkers. They were apprehensive about letting him go off to different worlds on his own but didn’t want to stifle his gift so he was allowed as long as he packed good supplies first and promised to come straight home if things got too dangerous or scary. Helis ended up loving exploring new worlds (especially finding and participating in local celebrations) but he is a homebody at heart and loves his plane so he usually doesn’t stay away for long. Helis ended up being pulled to Ravnica during the war and has been hesitant to planeswalk away from Perenia after that.

Fanwalker Profile for Tana
Names and Aliases: Tana Folclo; Miss DeNousett; Denounced, The; All-Queen of Fools And Glory; Rigger-Witch, the Species: Tiefling/Azra Age: 24 Gender: She/Her Color of Magic: Blue Black Red, with Red in focus Type of Magic: Tana distorts reality around her to match with her convoluted worldview. Generally she can kitbash impressively functional and dangerous slapdash equipment from inorganic material around her. Plane of Origin: Unknown First Planeswalk: Bablovia Appearance: Tana is 186 cm (6â€Č1) tall woman with vivid pink hue of skin and messy raven hair. Her infernal heritage manifests as pair of sharp upwards horns that grow from her forehead, a tail with spiky bone ridge around its tip, long sharp ears and teeth, and very faintly glowing monocolored eyes. Her sense of fashion, like her mind is all over the place. Personality: Narcissistic, capricious, greedy, and infinitely driven by ambition and envy, Denounced is difficult person to have a conversation with. Her flight of fancy is unpredictable joyride of half-baked schemes, crackpot conspiracies, aggressive self-aggrandizement, and occasional genuine insight brought about from her unique point of view at everything.

My fanwalker’s name is Marrhn, and I have no art of her but I do have cards made.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first one is similar to Calix or The Royal Scions, a planeswalker card for someone who’s spark hasn’t ignited yet. It’s from when she was exiled from Naktamun at a young age, surviving by eating the bones of other dissenters and picking up sandstorm magic to not get torn to shreds by the violent storms of Amonkhet. Her spark ignited after getting too close to a demon and having her wings ripped by the fiend’s claws.
She ended up on a small town in Sarpadia on Dominaria, and was eventually tamed by the townsfolk, and settled down. After a few years of the town’s growth remaining stagnant, she had the idea to use her passion for skeletons to make a museum displaying Dominaria’s rich evolutionary history, growing the museum and town around it, making connections and contracting specimens to be put on display. She made a name for herself in Dominaria’s academic circles as the vulture with a keen eye for the ancient.
Back on Amonkhet she could never find a place to call home for more than a week or too, the storms or the returned or horrors would always keep her on the run. On Sarpadia, she has a museum she built, a town she’s defended, a community she’s nurtured. She worries that if she ever were to planeswalk away, her corner of the world might not be there when she returned. So she stayed, even when the planar beacon was lit, she resisted its call and refused to planeswalk away.
If she had decided to fight against Nicol Bolas, she would have drastically reduced the blood shed. Eternals would have bent to her will, if they were far enough away from Liliana. She wouldn’t have survived however, as the shock of seeing the God-Eternals, or Nicol Bolas himself, would have shocked her deep enough to lose focus, and would have been harvested by one of the Dreadhorde, bit that is just an AU.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marrhn looks like an avian of Amonkhet, but has the face and wings of a Bearded Vulture. Her skin is rough and almost scaly, and her voice is deep, raspy and precise. Her Osteomancy takes time to warm up, so she knows how to deal serious damage with a wing-beat lunge and brutal claws. She wears custom thick black robes over her body, cinched with a thin leather belt, and a pocket sewed on the inside of fossil dragon’s teeth from Shiv, in case she needs to give her skeletons another advantage.
32, B, aromantic
It’s past midnight. This isn’t like an official profile this is just me putting my ideas onto paper. I literally didn’t know most of this shot before when I just wrote it, but I like it.
Okay goodnight.

My next ‘walker up for @leafdrake-haven's Fanwalker February is Nireta!
Art from @isharton and @zombieella
Name: Nireta
Colors: Dimir (Blue – Black)
Age: Early 20s
Plane of Origin: Theros
First Planeswalk: Ravnica
History: Nireta’s early life was a simple one. Her formative years were mostly uneventful, growing up in relative solitude on a small archipelago. The only saving grace was that the seas of Theros were often fraught with danger and cargo from various wreckage would wash up on her shores. While she couldn’t read this human script, the seemingly unlimited possibilities and mysticism of these foreign texts wowed her. Her life would change when a nymph emissary sent by Phenax appeared before her one night. He knew of her struggle for entertainment and offered her the ability to read, write, and speak human tongues with the vague condition of owing the pantheon one favor they could collect at any time. The nymph barely even finished the offer before Nireta made her decision.
To Nireta, this deal was glorious. She openly flew out and raided human ships and coastal towns now. Although she never intended to hurt anyone on these raids, she often made mistakes and it wasn’t uncommon for her to leave collateral damage. Phenax, however, had planned for the long game. Theros would always need heroes and heroes would need monsters to slay. Sometimes it was more entertaining to give fate a little push in the right direction. It took years for Nireta’s curiosity to turn into unintended greed, but eventually she drew the attention of a Meletian glory seeker. In the cover of darkness, the budding warrior scaled the near sheer cliff-side walls leading to her cave home and attacked her while she slept. She desperately tried to fight back, but found herself overpowered and with a gash down her back, she was thrown from her home into the sea below.
Broken and bloodied, her mind began to fade as she was pulled below the tide. Before the numbing cold took her from the living world, her spark ignited and her fate was changed. She awoke coughing up seawater in the Ravnican sewers. She spent weeks there, healing and resting by ensnaring various Golgari in her song before she had the courage to venture out into this new world. She spent years on Ravnica, bounching from place to place in the city’s underbelly, scratching together her life again. Despite keeping a low profile, she was eventually found by the Dimir and a second major agreement came into her life. On a job by job basis, she traded her skills for place to live and safety. Although her life is a simple one as she is picky with her work and avoids the guild politics, its safe and she has base to explore the multiverse for trinkets and piques of interest.
Personality: Typically bookish and introverted, she tends to keep to herself more often than not. Having been hunted on Theros and spending too much time in hiding on Ravnica has left her with some emotional barriers people. When one gets these walls, she really opens up however. She’s knowledgeable and loves to talk about the many subjects she’s learned. She can also be a bit haughty, but this comes more from an occasional lack of tact since she was raised mainly in the wilds.
Powers and Magic: Nireta’s is mainly sound-based. First, and most obvious, is her natural siren song with all the mind-controlling and persuasive powers they grant. Both from her travels and her work with her Dimir, she’s learned to be much more versatile than her typical siren. She can scream loud enough to shatter brick, whistle a piercing note to disorientate, and even have her sounds linger in the ear long after she leaves. She’s also picked a few mind-magic techniques, even a few from Halona, to protect her mind from people trying her own tricks on her.
Character Themes:
“The Bookish Bird” - The main chamber of Nireta’s apartment is a large library with books ranging from important encyclopedias to the most random of thrift shop dreck. Her curiosity of reading and books turned into an almost obsession after her agreement with Phenax and she finds great enjoyment from reading and learning from even the most mundane of script. Although this has sometimes troubled her, the philosophical implications of how much of her is just a creation of a Theros god and potentially not even her own, it has left her with a startlingly broad if sometimes useless knowledge base.
“Lady Luck She Isn’t” - Whether this is an inadvertent result of Phenax’s magic or just a part of Nireta’s character, she is a really bad judge of deals. She’s not dumb enough to fall for something that will obviously hurt her, but it is a reoccurring theme of deals and agreements coming back to bite her. She’s working on it, but she has her lapses.
Notes and Asides:
Nireta’s gotten a lot better with people now that she’s known Halona for a while (and a bit of Halona’s Red has started to rub off on her), but she tends to miss a lot of social cues. This is mostly attributed that while her knowledge is really broad, its also really spotty. Think of it like Megamind’s mispronunciation of words.
Although it’s probably not extreme enough to call it a phobia, Nireta show signs of herophobia and still suffers nightmares from her sparking (I like to image she was at most a young teen, between 13-15, when it happened).
Nireta has gotten into the habit of wearing a really thick cloak when out and about on Ravnica. She hates all the stares she gets and has been confused for some kind of Simic experiment on more than one occasion.

Heya! It’s Fanwalker February, I wanna take a moment to talk about one of my first Fanwalkers, Lukas!
Tumblr media
(Special thanks to @niuttuc for helped me make this card and @scruffyturtles for the lovely art!)
Name: Lukas Wermort
Gender/Pronouns: He/Him/His
Colors: White/Blue
Age: N/a (Died at the age of 23)
Plane of Origin: Innistrad
First Planeswalk: Ravnica
Other Planes Visited: Dominaria, Fiora, Kamigawa, Theros
Story: Lukas Wermort was the second child of a wine-making family on Innistrad. Thanks to his merchant class status, Lukas and his siblings were afforded a good education and opportunities for social advancement through the Church. However, Lukas later dropped out in favor of becoming a town guard to better protect his hometown after a rising vampire coven was discovered in the region and promptly rooted out.
One fateful night, Lukas was stationed at the town’s watchtower, but the shoddy conditions of the old structure ended up sending the young Cathar falling to his death. Right at the instant of death, Lukas’ Planeswalker Spark ignited, resulting in his spirit being flung to the bustling metropolitan plane of Ravnica. Confused and frightened, the newly minted ghost was quickly taken into the custody of Vincent Magister, a senior lawmage of the Azorius Senate, and eventually aided the latter in decisively solving a murder investigation. Impressed by the spirit’s detective skills and recognizing Lukas as a Planeswalker, Vincent decided to take the Cathar under his wing, offering Lukas a place to hone his talents and perhaps learn more about his newfound powers and the Multiverse at large.
Now an (unofficial) member of the Azorius Senate, Lukas acts as a investigator in efforts to help expedite the stagnate justice process on Ravnica and has resolved to make the best of his situation to learn more about himself and how to better protect those in need.
Personality: Lukas is a quiet, but friendly and polite man with a natural curiosity and love for learning. Despite his inquisitive nature, he can often be quite stubborn and often lets his fears get the better of him. An obvious example can be seen in his fear of heights: an issue further compounded by the fact that Ravnica is chock full of high up places and tall bridges that connect parts of the city. In spite of his naĂŻvetĂ© and occasional self-loathing, Lukas remains a steadfast friend who’s eager to prove himself and his usefulness.
Powers and Abilities: Lukas retains much of his Innistardi Cathar training, mostly regarding investigation, combat proficiency with spears, and basic survival skills. Additionally, his apprenticeship within the Azorius has helped him learn some basic binding/law magic.  Perhaps the most peculiar of Lukas’ abilities is his ability to manipulate both his own corporeality and even that of the world around him, although he doesn’t yet have full control over this power. Thanks to his ghostly nature, Lukas can make himself corporeal in order to interact with the physical world, but he can also make other objects and even people temporarily incorporeal. He primarily uses this power to eat.
Thank you all so much for reading! I’ll be making similar profiles for my other Fanwalkers throughout the week, so I hope you’ll stay tuned for those too!

MTG Fantober 2022 - Week One: Fanwalker Spotlight
The Coterie Of Effigies, Neris (M), Syren (F), Eyrn (NB)
Age: Late 20s, around 29 Color identity: Blue/Black/Red/Green Race: Human Plane of origin: Plin First Paneswalk:  Vryn/Zendikar/Kamigawa
Tumblr media
Neris
Tumblr media
Syren
Tumblr media
Eyrn
Magic Abilities:
Separately, or as part of the whole, Neris, Syren, and Eyrn know the sigils for the casting of a number of spells. They can channel your vital essence to fuel their own mana reserves, they can read your aura to see into your immediate future (whether or not they tell you is debatable), they can reanimate the dead for a short time, and they can channel the magics of Plin to create a duplicate of an item or person for a limited time.
General Profile:
Utilising their collective shared mind, each member of the Coterie can focus the power of three minds simultaneously to enhance their learning capabilities, and magical power, though doing so leaves the individual weaker to strengthen the whole. The three siblings have used this ability to share the load of knowledge and broaden their studies beyond what would normally be capable for any one person alone, leading to a wide array of disciplines in their magic. Choosing to fight back against the rules that would’ve seen them destroyed, they seek a way to gain immortality, and to assist any born of inopportune circumstance, in their own beliefs and methods. They share a form of telepathy, being essentially one mind across three bodies, so each know what the others know; shared feelings, shared experience.
Backstory:
The Coterie was doomed from the start. The laws of Plin dictate that any person born outside the conventional pairing is to be put to death, as it is believed to be a curse. If not for the chance fate of a rebellious mother, they would’ve been put to the blade before fully drawing their first breath. The mother spirited them away, until many had forgotten, assuming their death in the wilds. Neris and Syren entered society as is proper, leaving Eyrn at home to tend to their mother, weakened by the unexpected aetheric toll the trio’s creation had left on her. The twins seemed to excell in their aptitude tests, unknown to all but them that the link that would normally be limited to two minds was in fact being amplified by a third. When their mother passed, the trio swore to take back their rights as living citizens of their home. They would swap out the pairing that would be present in the acadamies, allowing Eyrn time to practice alongside their brother or sister, while the third would rest to allow the others to share the skills. Their secret lasted for most of their education, though eventually came to light. A self-righteous mob descended on their homestead outside of town, with intent to kill as their laws and beliefs dictated. Before the blades were struck, the Coterie’s spark, shared between their triplicate forms, ignited. The siblings were separated more fully than they had ever been; Neris finding himself on a world of Rings and arcane knowledge, Syren landing in the wild jungles bordered by ancient stone, and Eyrn in the mountains overlooking a village of spirits. They quickly learned that their shared mind still allowed communication across the worlds, and after some planar experimentation, the plan quickly fell into place. They would each explore the vastness of worlds, seeking out the path to their immortality, honing their skills, finding a home to meet up to reconnect, to then return to Plin to have their revenge on behalf of any cut down by the ignorant enforcers of the law.

Elrick:
Age: around 350ish years
Color Identity: green/blue/black
Race: elf
Plane of Origin: Fiora
First Planeswalk: Lorwyn
Magic Powers: Withering (necro) magic and adept with poisons (-1/-1 counters/giving creatures -X/-X). Can also manipulate/heal/reverse many poisons if he has the resources. Plant based magic/being able to control plants and plant-based creatures. Relatively adept at biomancy but is not his forte (knows more theory than practice). Good at gathering informations from people (card draw/opponent discard) Due to pass experiences he has worked on mental fortitude and is better than average at protections from mind magic but cannot attack others’ minds directly. Can do necromancy/raise the dead but rarely does it due to finding it inelegant/unsanitary in most situations but he won’t hesitate to use a powerful tool. Has very rudimentary healing abilities.
Proficiencies: Elrick has both magical and chemical/alchemical knowledge of many poisons. He is very knowledgeable about many plants and fungi around the multiverse and has an encyclopedic knowledge of a lot of plants and fungi on Ravnica, especially ones that the Simic work with or ones that grow in the under city. He is competent at making potions, elixirs, poisons, and other plant-based concoctions (including some very delicious foods!) Elrick has been around awhile and is a bit of a perfectionist so he likes to learn new things and then master them. He is quite talented at cooking, fencing, dagger-work, business, winemaking, and music (singing and some instruments though he has become a bit private about it now; mostly he only performs for or sings with his daughters, they’re working on getting him more open about it).
Backstory: Elrick grew up rich and privileged on Fiora. His family played the game of politics well and he was a fast learner. His parents had him doing spy-work on other families as a preteen and he was proud of his abilities and the trust they put in him. It being Fiora though meant that other families were jealous and trying to underhand and blackmail them back. One fateful day a 14-year old Elrick comes back from a mission to see his family slaughtered in his home by masked assassins. The assassins are still there and began to advance on the shocked boy only for his spark to ignite whisking him away to Lorwyn. Elrick was a teenage oldwalker but because of the shock of how it happened he repressed his new god-like power without realizing it so for awhile he didn’t know of his vast new powers. A group of elves on Lorwyn took him in out of pity but they considered him barely above an eyeblight because of his lack of horns and hooves, so he was constantly put down, made fun of, and given the hardest and worst chores. Having grown up being constantly praised for his looks and sharp wit for his age this treatment confuses and deeply hurts him but he’s still so in shock from what happened that he takes it and tries desperately to please his new “family”. A couple years of this and Elrick has made his way up a rank to Immaculate mostly due to his talent with poisons, plants, and his unrivaled ability to grow moonglove. He is still put down every day but he is at least able to learn a lot of the Lorwyn elves’ plant and withering magics. One day scouting by himself Elrick is attacked and for the first time after igniting his spark he accidentally taps into is oldwalker powers and kills all his attackers. He is overwhelmed and elated by his newly discovered powers and to his delight he realizes he can alter his appearance at will. He gives himself a pair of polished hooves and an elegant pair of antlers which he thinks are even more lovely than the typical thorny horns of the other elves. When he goes to gloat to his family they are aghast. They accuse him of being a changeling spy this whole time and immediately attack him with intent to kill. Scared, hurt, and angry Elrick defends himself and unable to control his new power kills the whole group. At first he is in shock again and feels a wave of grief and guilt but as he stands there he remembers the treatment he’s had these last few years his heart hardens and he decides they deserved it.
He spends the next couple of centuries exploring his new powers, honing the powers he already had, and repressing his emotions. He gets rid of his hooves but keeps the antlers as a reminder that he was better than the elves that mistreated him (also he ended up liking how they look). He is not a very good person during a lot of this. The multiverse was cruel to him so he feels justified being cruel back and treats a lot of the people he meets as disposable for a long while. He spends a while on Tarkir with the Silumgar mastering more poisons and even returns to Lorwyn to learn more wither and plant magic from other elves he never met before. He travels to as many places as he can to learn as much as he can. Eventually he returns to Fiora to exact revenge for his family. He finds and eliminates the assassin guild that killed his family and eventually starts planning revenge for the family that ordered his family’s death. At some point he over-estimates himself and almost gets killed and instinctively planeswalks to Ravnica for the first time. A Golgari elven lich saves him and cares for him and being so desperate for friendship or kinship Elrick sticks around to help her for awhile. He eventually joins the Golgari and learns to Calm Down from this lich lady (who is actually much older than him and he starts to look at her like a grandmother). She helps him see the cruelty of his current path and for the first time in awhile he feels some guilt and starts a longer journey of introspection. With her guidance, he is still a snobby ass most of the time but he is no longer cruel and treats people with respect (mostly) and not as disposable pawns. He remembers the heart of who he was as a kid and tries to become that again even if he knows he can’t erase the bad he’d done for hundreds of years. He doesn’t care if he’s good by most moral standards as long as he’s happy with himself and comes up with his own moral code that he usually sticks to (eventually). Eventually he falls in love with a merfolk woman in the Simic guild and guild hops. Gonna stick to being vague here cause I eventually wanna write this as stories BUT basically Elrick becomes a single dad to an (adopted) infant merfolk daughter and finds himself planesbound as his spark was ripped from him. He now has his own apothecary/potions shop and eventually takes in (and then accidentally adopts) Rhynn once her spark lands her on Ravnica as a teenager.

Hound’s Backstory
Disclaimer: I don’t know shit about kamigawa or pre-mending lore. This was mostly off the cuff but a lot of the main points will probably stay the same.
Anyway! This is the basic backstory for my monoblack fanwalker, Hound of Greay.
Long before bolas's machinations and the archer who shot him, Hound lived as a geisha in one of the most affluent districts of Towabara. For a reason unknown to many, except the few walkers that visited the plane, the kami never noticed or even attempted to interact with her. Eventually, a rumor began to surface that she was cursed and due to the machinations of a demon that she rebuked years ago, the world around her became a disaster. The town believed that she could only solve this by sacrificing her to the demon. The demon attempted to kill her, both for refusing his advances and out of pure anger. She sparked from this and returned moments later, ripping the demon apart from shoulder to groin. She returned to town, with the demon's head dragged along like a leaking garbage bag. This ruined her geisha view but she moved onto the assassination and seduction business quickly after.
The next few years, Hound experimented with her magic and new planeswalkers skills. Compared to most other walkers of the time, Hound kept a fairly low profile and never asked around to other walkers. This was all good and fine up until the mending. Once the mending struck, Hound was not concerned about the immortality, nor the complete control of her body lost or the unimaginable power. Something about her face felt wrong. She stepped to the closest mirror and saw her skin dripping off like wax. This, as it would for most people, caused a mental breakdown. It was only solved after a fugue state and her killing at least 10 bandits in exceptionally gruesome ways. The blood around her felt like nothing compared to the feeling of being whole again. The pain from before left at the cost of the lives of the highwaymen. Stories of the beautiful ageless geisha who killed a demon with her bare hands drowned out into murmurs and were reforged into a story of a terrifying beast that slaughtered people in the roads nearby town and left only mutilated corpses in its wake.
Hound only rarely returned to the true world of kamigawa and met with people she believed to have planeswalker children. Most of the time, she was wrong but with Meiyo, she was correct. She stayed at arm's length until Cleansing-Tail, meiyo's adoptive father, died. She stepped in and attempted to help him learn how to survive. She helped him learn his magic and eventually took on a second disciple, Candle a shadow mage azra. Around this time, Another walker by the name of Lavi suggested to join a group of oldwalkers . While she stepped off plane for this, Candle and Meiyo had a tussle which resulted in Meiyo being nearly maimed and candle having too much of an ego. Meiyo fled to Ravnica and Hound never forgave herself. She kept Candle with her but the discipline for this disciple was increased greatly.thoughts?
