So before Bloomburrow comes out soon I want to get a MH3 ask in so if you want could we hear about Sezashi, Arnoss, Dancing-Hands, Zarunpel and Ranek Origins cards?
Origin cards take a while to design because they have a lot of moving parts and need a flip trigger that's flavorful, original but also happens just the right amount and at the right timing for it to not be awkward.
With that said, I do have some of those already made!
Sezashi's represent on the front his time with Adima, a Merge-Gate Keeper trying to balance traditional magic and new technology. He flips when the gate gets destroyed, and keeps going in the same way, honoring Adima after their disparition.
Arnoss has a mistake of a back side, but something I felt like experimenting with. A Planeswalker Creature interacts funkily with plenty of parts of the game, which his passives try to somewhat remedy. Other than that, the card is very simple, he flips as he did in his story, after his close family got massacred and he was the last survivor of it.
I've started on a Dancing-Hands origin card several times, but have scrapped all my attempts so far, they weren't satisfying enough. Instead, have a pair of creature/background for him, since I did experiment with those too.
Zarunpel's origin card was made as a part of a cycle along with all six of her sisters, all Legendary Creatures, so she matches them and has a legendary subtheme that's not present on most of her cards.
Ranek doesn't have an origin card either yet... But he does have a Saga recounting his origin, when he first put on the Stormplate that would become his name. It's fairly simple and lackluster by 2024 standards, probably only worth an uncommon slot these days, but I still like it.

I know I'm a bit late but I was really enjoying Thunder Junction as a drafting experience, even if I found it a bit muddled from a lore perspective. But I wanted to ask the question if your oc had there own Mount what would it be?
My fanwalkers (desparked or otherwise) all have the opportunity to use mounts but most of them wouldn't. Although it is fun to think about!
Tessa and Seth are the boring ones using horses, although Tessa would use a spirit horse and Seth a real flesh and blood horse.
Cesare would ride an oozey/slimey krasis while doing battle for the simic, but otherwise prefers to travel by foot.
Savah would ride a cobbled together construct like their knights do, but very rarely and only for convenience.
Edgrigos and Redaba both probably wouldn't use any kind of mount.
Reblog to follow with actual cards for a couple of these mounts, specifically Cesare and Savah

What is your oc's Glimmer what shines to guide them threw the darkness, and in that darkness what Fear stakes them?
This is a fun one!
For Rhynn I think I’ll take the obvious route and say a drake for her glimmer. I thought about making it a dragon, but I think since she’s been away from Tarkir for so long a drake probably makes more sense.
For Elrick I’m getting family feelsies. His glimmer would take the form of a pigeon/dove (because of Rhynn, excuse me while I 🥺 over my own OCs).
Helis is another easy one, his glimmer would be a phoenix! Probably would look similar to Poulios!
Tali. Hmmmm. I think hers would take the form of a stag but she is really gonna try to not think about that too much thank you very much.
I’m not sure if Breeze would get a glimmer or not? Hers would probably also be a drake xD
As for fears, I gotta think more on that one, so that’ll gotta be on a reblog. Cause I know Rhynn is scared of thunderstorms (and Kolaghan) but idk if that is how Duskmourn would work?
Thanks for the ask! :D

It was only a matter of time before I sent this ask around... What kind of animal would your oc turn into on Bloomburrow?
Had to do a bit of a dive into what’s available; not just what’s represented in the set, but what constitutes a “woodland animal”. Not a lot of woodlands in Australia. 😅
Liya, I feel, would become a rabbit. She has the sort of personality that lends itself to the form, and I remember watching (and reading) Watership Down, so there’s a non-zero amount of childhood trauma to tap into.
Yri is showing up as a hummingbird. Needing to fly and be zippy is a large part of her moveset, as it were, and I strongly get the impression she has the energy to pull it off.
Vasil, I see as a hedgehog. But leaning more Hellraiser than Sonic. Pain and keeping people away are also core elements of his being. Now if he could be a skeletal version…
Caidi, even for their genetic makeup, would be a frog. It’s a Simic staple animal, and I also just love the image of seeing a slime-style frog. No solid skin or bones, just a translucent jelly.
Kolya would become a badger. He has the temperament and feeling of being able to represent himself well in that position.
The Coterie is interesting. Would they all become identical creatures, or would there be enough variance between them that they would be a diverse group? For my vote, I think they would be practically identical weasels. The popular interpretation of the characterisation of a weasel really fits their vibe.
Thanks for the ask, @little-red-rabbit!

So before Bloomburrow comes out I at least one to get out one MH 3 ask, so could you tell me about your walkers Origin card?
Sorry for the late reply on this (and honestly being super neglectful of my inbox in general). Life has been a little busy as of late, though at least things are generally well!
ANYWAY, to answer your ask, I actually made an Origin card for my fanwalker, Joseph Kabox!
On the front, we have Josef, Lambholt Youth, depicting my fanwalker before his spark ignited, as a child on Innistrad. Hailing from a rather Germanic inspired plane, his name was originally Josef (said as Yosef).
As far as the front half's abilities, the two tokens he creates reference his mother and father, who both died during a vampire attack - the same attack that resulted in Joseph's spark igniting. This is referenced in his other ability requiring at least two creatures to die in order to transform him, and the destruction of target creature is in reference to how, as his spark ignited, he was able to kill the vampire in a burst of magical energy.
On the back, we have Joseph Kabox, Student of Bant, depicting Joseph as a young adult on Alara. Having landed on the shard of Bant after igniting his spark, Josef eventually came to be known as Joseph, more closely fitting the naming conventions of the plane, and somewhat symbolically showing his acceptance of Bant as his home.
His +1 ability is meant to represent the various soldiers he came to befriend and know during his time on Bant, more specifically Atax and Piramessa, a Rhox and an Aven that were his closest friends.
His +3 is meant to symbolize both his education on Bant, growing and learning about life and the world around him, but also his time shortly after leaving Alara, discovering new planes and new things.
His final -7 is ultimately meant to represent an event that happened when he witnessed Atax fall in battle - an event that would kickstart his rediscovery of his powers as a planeswalker, and ultimately him leaving Alara for greener pastures. In the battle that saw the death of Atax, Joseph lost control of his emotions, creating an elemental from the wellspring of mana both bottled up within himself for so many years, and on the battlefield around him. This elemental then aided in the rest of the conflict, before fading away, back into the world.
I hope you enjoyed this analysis of my origin-style sparker card for Joseph. I created this card some time ago, and I've been quite happy with it. I think it captures his early life well, and flows well enough into his future fan cards and his future identity as a character. Thank you so much for asking!

Congratulations! Your OCs have joined social media! What platform are they on, what’s their username, and what’s their posting style?
So sorry it took me so long to get to this one... but I know next to nothing about social media as I personally barley uses them myself so this is my best attempt.
I could see Marcel having a Instagram with the user name Littlefaygardener. It is mostly just them posting about their lovely garden and all the critters that visit him.
Serrabeth is the old lady who only has facebook to keep up with grandchildren.
Segara defiantly has a Instagram, Tiktok and Twitter called FlamboyantFeathers. It where he post shirtless work out pics and thirst traps, he may or may not have a OnlyFans.
Molycap doesn't know what social media is.
Dillan only has a tumbler and discord to keep up with friends his user name is Beddy_Bye_Baa.
Out of all my Ocs Nivel is most active across all social media as he is promoting his DJ business. User name DJ_Ascetic.

Oh I love the idea of a gothic horror plane of secrets, where the people live in ignorance of the darkness festering just below the cobblestone they walk. Is it just the monsters that the people are kept in dark about, or is the very existence of magic suppressed? Are there like secret societies that keep the people ignorant to it all? Is this a situation where the more people that know about the darkness the stronger it grows?
Not monsters, per se, not in the Innistrad sense, at least. The forces behind the plane feed on its residents’ psyches.
Magic is practiced, but less commonly than on other planes. Too much progress in certain magical areas could be a threat to the arrangement.

pain: What's the worst pain your OC has ever felt? Do they have a high pain tolerance?
Garrag has been in a lab accident or two, and is no stranger to pain. The worst pain he ever felt, however, was the event that ignited his planeswalker spark, as it was both physically and mentally traumatic. While he is a kenku, he used to have rudimental wings still, which he had usually folded up on his back like a backpack. Garrag was working on a project with his best friend and lab partner, Mel, when something went horribly wrong. The project exploded in a blast of scrapnel and searing light, Mel was vaporised, and as garrag instinctively shielded himself with his wings the blast tore them clean off. He only survived that because he managed to planeswalk away before the blast pulverised everything in the lab.

Ugh and the WORST PART is that I have an IDEA now for combating Compleation, at least combating the mind-fuckery that Norn did (fuck canon it's my canon now and I have THOUGHTS) and it involves fucking SparkBonds and I'm like...
I get to do Compleated!Avery AND all of Avery's SparkBond fuckery like we have Avery and Jace and their Bond being fucked up by Norn and then we have poor Liliana having to deal with that and THEN. And THEN.
We have an opportunity for Tezzeret to not only fuck over Norn BIG TIME... We have a chance for my favorite evil man to do the right thing for 100% selfish reasons and I am. So here. For it....
#mtg#magic the gathering#fanwalker#oc x canon shit#fuck it's been 5 minutes and i have a story now#FUCK#someone ask me questions about my blorbo I need it#someone ask me fanwalker questions I'm adhding so bad

Love is in the air, so I would love to hear your ocs thoughts on the subject of romance~
Cypheus: This man develops a crush on every 3rd person he meets. He loves the idea of going out on dates, sharing sweets and deserts, and watching the sunset cuddled up with a person he cares about. Cypheus frequently daydreams about finding love, but he travels far to much to settle down and meet someone.
Ahmeral: has only ever been in love with himself.
Malain: Loves love, they would watch romance movies all day if they could. Malain jumps at the opportunity to listen about their friends love lives, or even pitch in with romantic advice. However, they themselves are incredibly bashful when feelings are expressed towards them.
Aderick: Is in love with Ingdiir and has made it everyone's problem, especially hers.
Ingdiir: Pretends to think romance is overrated and refuses to admit she likes Aderick back.
Karesh: Though he'd like to settle down one day and get married, he's already a little to married to his work. Karesh has a "One Day..." approach to romance.
Ventir: Believes romance is a silly thing that he needn't pay mind to (desperately lonely).
Emerick: Actively searching for love, not that he's lonely, but he believes any home is better when shared with a loved one.
Xiltas: Xiltas' history with love is a dangerous one. He fell madly in love once long ago and tragedy befell his lover. And he is willing to tear the multiverse apart to get him back.
Maharabh and Prophet are aro/ace, and Chydle is an actual plant that reproduces asexually and has not discovered the concept of romance.
#words from the whale#mtg#fanwalkers#asks#the krishai's are not listed because i couldnt think of anything noteworthy about them for this prompt

It's friday! Tradition, doing back that Fanwalker friday thing, for now I'll leave open characters for questions (they usually are, but this post adds some officialness). See this post for a long list, though the first half will have more material.

Now that March of the Machine story has been fully released I can ask, how did your ocs weather the Phyrexia invasion of the multiverse?
I'm actually currently writing a story about what my ocs did during the Phyrexian Arc, Shadows of the Multiverse. Links in my pinned post.
I'd love to answer this question but it would be major spoilers for that story.

Rhynn already has a mount! :D Her drake (mutant) that she biomanced to save as a broken egg. She has an empathic bond with him and if they’re on the same plane they can always at least sorta feel each other.
I do have an old card I made for him forever ago. I would probably change/update it or just make a new one. But I have played with the idea of making him an actual mount card too!
Thanks for the ask! ^_^

🍲🍥
🍲When did you start writing and why?
In general, it would’ve been maybe 1990 and because of a school assignment. Shameless ripoff of pop-culture elements at the time, but enough that teachers were minorly impressed.
A more relevant answer would have been 2015, when a random inspiration from a question of “Can MTG Planeswalkers become planeswalkers from positive experiences, or is it only trauma?”. This was the inception of Liya as a character, and I basically started writing and designing from that day on. (Also, I cheekily suspect it may have also inspired the creation of The Wanderer, so I fully accept credit for that 😅)
The post in question, from @dougbeyermtg’s blog:
🍥What's your favorite fic you've written?
So while To Tame A Tiger is far and away the most popular work I’ve written, I consider Future Past my strongest writing to date. It’s really helped set up a number of plot elements, but beyond that, I don’t think it’s all that bad either.
Thanks for the ask, @yrael!

seeing as it is the spooky season I thought I would ask about the time your OC was the most afraid.
Happy Halloween!
I think if we're talking about my fanwalker, Joseph, it would have to be the night his spark ignited.
He was a child, only eight years old, and it started when he was woken up by some sounds coming from behind his family's home. His father went out to investigate, and from the window, Joseph and his mother watched in horror as a vampire came from their chicken coop and attacked his father.
In a frenzy, his mother rushed him and his little brother to the cellar to hide, but the vampire knew better. Before long, it had broken into the cellar, and Joseph was made to watch as it attacked both his mother and his little brother.
When the vampire finally turned its attention to him, soaked in the blood of his family, Joseph's spark ignited, and he crashed head first into a rock on the shard of Bant on the plane of Alara.
Joseph has since seen many horrific things - from a mother gryff being mauled to death by werewolves to the way a group of zealous cathars slaughtered a coven of seemingly innocent witches. Joseph has even taken part in some horrific acts he, at the time, did not realize the depth of.
However, the night of his sparking made him realize the horrors of the multiverse, and ever since then, nothing has quite hit him as hard, no matter how horrific those events may be.
Here is a Sparker Planeswalker card I created for Joseph, which depicts the night of his sparking in question.

So tell us about your new esper sphinx walker? 👀
@leafdrake-haven @thetabbybadger
For those of you who do not know I have been thinking of retiring my old nyxborn sphinx walker and replacing him with a new sphinx walker. I still love Niphorbis but his backstory is so complex and has such a feel of finality to it, I never know what to do with him.
My new panes-walker is named Anise she is a crime novelist from New Capenna, with ties to the Obscura.
Being from New Capenna her look is very much inspired by the nineteen twenties. She has that iconic bob cut from the era peeking out around a cloche hat. The fur around his neck is very thick and fluffy giving the illusion of a fur coat and she often wears a pearl necklace. By sphinx standers she would be consider a bit of a runt as from her head to her hunches she is maybe five seven, five eight? Her build is very much more house cat then big cat.
Her personality is also very atypical of a sphinx as she is chatty, bubbly and a bit of a nosey gossip. Anise herself often says she never made for a good sphinx. That being said she dose have the spices obsession with mysteries and riddles. Though she tends to philosophies on such mysteries less then she enjoys tugging at their strings until they unravel like a ball of yarn.
She is very much inspired by flappers and Agatha Christie.
Anise makes her living writing crime novels under a number of pen names, her most favors being the mysterious Tabitha Badgers. She never uses her real name as her novels are often based off the activates of the other crime families, she snoops out. Though ever since she got her spark Anise has been brining the stories of the multiverse back to New Cappena. Recently she has been writing a novel based on the Dragon Maze, recasting Tajic as a private investigator.
Magic wise Anise has the mind magic found on most of her species as well as the Obscura observation magic she uses to gather the information needed to write her novels. But Anise also uses a form a literary magic that lets her imbue properties onto things by writing on them with enchanted ink. Examples of which would be writing Melt on stone to turn it into lava, or light as a feather to turn a heavy burden into a light one.
Mechanically Anise makes both Inklings and clue tokens as well as having interactions with scrying and surveilling. The big thing Anise dose is shenanigans with keyword abilities, such as sharing them among creatures you control or making keyword tokens.
