I made a night dimension creature. The Eatier. Inspired by the Japanese myth of the Baku.

The Eatier is considered one of the most powerful and dangerous animals in the night dimension. Specifically among the nightmaren. Because the eatier is the only natural predator of nightmaren, and considered a death wish to attempt to hunt one down. Strong enough to even give the first levels NiGHTS and Reala a fight of their lives and withstand most attacks, yet sentient and kind-hearted, and intuitive; allowing them to know what are true threats to the nightopians and visitors they defend.

As their name implies, the eatiers (pronounced EH-TEE-EARS) devour nightmaren. They were supposed to be way for the Night Dimension to remain balanced, and ensure no nightmaren tried to truly harm a visitor. But ever since Wizeman came into power, eatiers have been on the hunt more and more, catching any harmful nightmaren and offering refuge to any nightopian and visitor they they come across. Wizeman of course, wants these creatures destroyed. But everyone in Nightmare knows that they'd be lucky just to survive an encounter with an eatier, let alone damage it. So these night creatures are thriving.

As one can guess, the Baku was my main inspiration for the eatier. So was the tapir, the animal the Baku was based on. But I was also inspired by the giant anteater with its claws and giant tail, and the moose with its size and absolute level of "do not fu*k with me"

I wish so badly I could draw the eatier for you guys so you can see how I imagine they look! Hopefully you guys can get a decent image of their appearance with the animals I provided.

Some interesting things to know about eatiers...

An eatiers fur will change color based on what kind of nightmaren is most common in their diet. For example, one that eats mostly snips would have a mostly white coat with rainbow gradient.

When NiGHTS first rebelled, they did their best to avoid the eatiers. Though it was soon enough revealed to them that eatiers can sense what is in someone's heart when they flew into one carelessly, but wasn't harmed.

My OC Prism is close with an elder eatier named Mercedes. The two have fought along side each other a few times, and she has even sheltered and transported Prism when her wings have been damaged in battle (which happens a lot).

Some of Reala's scars were from a run-in with Mercedes. He doesn't need to be reminded of how lucky he was.

[ Kid has more guilt than one would think and it all falls on one thing. He could've saved his father from dying in the Curse caused blizzard that took more than the ex-Guy surprisingly. He won't speak of it as it was just as haunting as it was back when he was still fifteen years old. Kid was just terrified to let him inside after all that had happened. ]

[ Mornin' frendos. Woke up and had the worst idea ever but kinda glad it ain't a thing around here as I just had to look.

I hate to admit but I'm kinda glad there ain't a Strawberry Clock rp blog around here as Kiddo will be givin' him daggers of a glare for certain reasons. No matter the kind of SBC it is he'll hate his guts just because the one he knows traumatized him for life.

"You know...it's probably a good thing Pokey left...I got more important things to worry about anyways..."

Says the little Guy as he tosses a piece of basalt rock the size of his own head to a mottled Chain Chomp. He just watched as it crunched away happily.

"I'll take you for a walk, Tin Tin. Just hold on while I check on that sapling real quick."

Kid sighed as he wandered toward the backyard's orchard to look at the small plant in a pot, carefully looking over the leaves that had grew.

His thoughts were yanked out though as he heard the Chomp's barks, straightening up with a quiet hum in question.

"Alright, alright. Tree's doing fine right now so let's go get that excess energy out of you."

He didn't hesitate to catch the chain as it was whipped toward him, wrapping it around his hand. He knew the Zygarde would be beside him soon enough on the walk but right now he just needed more than a juice box, or so he felt.

If they hallucinated, what would they see? Kid

[ Due to an incident that actually gave him a major phobia he...still sometimes thinks he sees people, be it his own kind or the Civilians of the City, possessed by Clock faces. It's either that or he sees an older version of himself with the Spike head wandering around.

He knows the pain his Curse and illness has given him, hence the hallucination of a possible outcome on his own self. Though this one's a bit more rarer compared to the Clock face possessed individuals. ]

Happil squinted a bit as he was just sitting on his and his partner's ship in thought.

"You know...it's bad when a soul like Herobrine is less of a monster than you'd expect..."

The mere thought of S(im)teve made his stomach churn to the point he had to get up, grabbing a bottle of a light red liquid with a frown.

Dark Kid, on the other hand, knew exactly why. So said that frown of his own as he watched his partner wander out of the captain's quarters.

"Don't drink too much of the shard water, Hap. Remember last time what happened...?"

The reanimated Kid gave a sigh as the warning got a 'screw off' in return. No anger, just a knowing look from the undead to the blond's turned back.

🎮Amnesia: The Bunker (Kid)

Kid just hates to admit he'll happily play horror games but if it has a story he'll be too enthralled. The usual headphones and lights out even as he plays through it, trying to find any possible secrets or items that is needed for a 100%.

His careful nature does turn on him a lot of the time though within games. Amnesia is no exception.

Though there is one thing for certain...he finds Dark Descent to be a lot more scary than the newer additions to the series.

Kid, I need to know. What spirits are there and why are you giving them offerings?

Kid frowned at the question before looking toward the Castle. Yes he did have certain types of Yokai around but those...those weren't getting offerings as they were living there just like everyone else. He knew what the anon was talking about.

"Six of them...they can't pass either since my dad...killed them. There were others before me. Kids just like I was..."

He sat down after fiddling with his cape for a bit.

"I don't know why they can't pass, I spoke with U.O but even he's confused. They tell me I don't need to give offerings but...even spirits get hungry around here."
