I’m part of an FL zine that’s celebrating the release of the sequel in October, and it’s like my favorite game so how could I not join in LOL

I sketched this so I could have an idea how to incorporate my style and the FL style together

Level-5, Fantasy Life:i and Generative AI Stable Diffusion.

The Developer of Fantasy Life: i, Level-5. Just announced a lot of delays for their upcoming games at Level 5 Vision 2024: To the World's Children.

In this presentation, a lot of the games showed off BEAUTIFUL and unique looking art styles and character designs. They stand out from what a lot of current anime games were offering.

I watched it live on stream and my stream community enjoyed seeing it all. However the very next day?

We learned through this article posted above, that the developer had started to embrace using Stable Diffusion, a form of Generative AI, for the Art Assets in three of its games. Megaton Musashi, Yokai Watch, and Inazuma Eleven are shown in the official government presentation.

As someone who is very passionate about Fantasy Life i?

Seeing the company you grew up loving embrace a form of Generative AI that doesn't collect the data of their original works without explicit consent is HEARTBREAKING.

However, I want to be as clear and accurate as possible.

There is very clear evidence that Level 5 is embracing Generative AI for the games listed in the video. There is no clear evidence that these techniques were used in the development of Fantasy Life: i. This post is being shared with you for your awareness.

Fantasy Life for the 3ds is one of the most magical games I've ever played.

The game had so much charm that I showed a minimum of 6 different friends, and upon just watching me play it? They immediately went to buy the game themselves.

It was so charming, so simple yet aesthetically pleasing that anyone could appreciate it for what it was.

This game was developed by Level-5.

The fact that Level-5 was the developers is what got my eye on this game in the first place. Ever since Dark Cloud 2 for the Playstation 2 I fell in love with what these developers can do.

Dark Cloud, Ni no Kuni, Rogue Galaxy, I fell in love with the developers ages ago and what they do meant a lot to me.

It feels awful that I cannot feel comfortable supporting the developer as a whole anymore.

I don't fault anyone if they choose the purchase the game still because ultimately, i know the game means a lot. Part of me still wants to experience the game.

However, its clear that Level 5 is one of the developers who plan to fully integrate Gen Ai into their development cycle going forward and I wouldn't be surprised it's why they have so many delays in all their games. As they may be adapting to a new workflow.

As someone who heavily endorsed this game as a streaming vtuber, I felt it was only fair I spread this information. Thank you.

Wanted to finally make a ref of the fantasy life i character that's been living rent free in my brain since the game was announced. I knew as soon as farmer was revealed as a new life that I HAD to make a little farmer! I ended up drawing inspiration from Laura without even meaning to since she was my favorite character in the first gameXD Carlotta (and her whole family) are based on veggies, and even though she wants to move on to bigger things, the farm life never leaves her. Does anyone else have a character idea in the works before the game releases? Or are you waiting to see what character creation has in store?

Anyone else getting really concerned that the release date for Fantasy Life i is less than 2 months away but we’ve heard nothing since February?

I personally don’t care if it’s delayed again, I just hope it is actually happening and that it will live up to the hype and to the 3DS game.

Level 5 Presentation for Fantasy Life: i : NEW LIFE REVEALED!

So Fantasy Life : i just had its segment in the Level 5 ch presentation.

As someone who loved the original game and put nearly 200 hours into it? Trust me, I WILL be streaming this game on release. This was a huge comfort game for me back then, and it likely will be again!

Here's a quick overview of what was shown off by the wonderful and enthusiastic developers!

Small peek at character creation

Terraforming for the main island of the game and town.

"Artifact" system to bring former characters of the original games to your new island. Characters trapped in the form of various objects, once freed, can join your party and provide services to your island town.

Furniture and Housing showcase

Cooking minigame display, showing off how foods crafted can be ranked from 1-5 stars based on performance. They're pretty similar to the original game

Fishing mechanics showcase.

Miniboss combat showcase

Reveals of the two new lives. One, the Farmer was already revealed.

However in THIS Livestream they revealed one new life! Click the read more to see the new life, as I don't wanna spoil it for anyone looking to be surprised.

The new Life revealed is...

ARTIST!!! As an artist myself I'm PLEASANTLY HAPPY for this reveal and can't wait to see what it'll contribute to the game.

Overall. I'm happy and excited to see this sequel come to life. I wanted to see more of the game's exploration, as the original Fantasy Life 3ds had an amazingly huge world to explore.

So far I have yet to see even a display of the world map. So i have no clue to go off of for now.

I hope that this sequel provides just as big of a world, if not BIGGER to explore.

Sadly There was no release date revealed. which is VERY dissappointing. but I won't rush something I've waited THIS long for. I can wait a little longer.

Once this game releases, I'll likely be streaming it a lot, and hopefully it catches hold for me. If it does, It'll definitely be a regular thing for me.

Also there’s been one thing personally bothering me with the new Lives we’re getting in the new Fantasy Life game

Namely, what exactly is Artist supposed to do or contribute? And why is it a Life?

Farmer I kind of get, with it presumably being your way of getting crops that the Cook Life requires, not to mention there were a number of farmers in the original game

But what does Artist contribute? It seems to be painting focused based on the picture they gave us, so is it just, making paintings? So have in your houses? That seems kind of not important

The Carpenter Life may have been mostly about crafting furniture, which is also optional, but not only did the furniture occupy a 3D space, instead of just being a picture on a wall (that’d probably be hard to see at most angles with the top-down perspective), but you could craft tools and weapons that the Blacksmith Life couldn’t

And Tailor may have been about mostly clothes, which again, may not contribute much, but that’s making part of your character’s appearance that you will constantly be seeing as you play, so it’s kind of necessary

I guess it’s a matter of finding out when the game comes out, but I just don’t get what the point of the Artist Life is. Is there not another crafting Life they could have made that would be more useful? Or maybe a new battle Life?
