Hi, congrats on 4K! If your drawing requests are still open, I'd like to put in my request, which is Chloé x Marinette (or Ladybug x Queen Bee) content.

I could see both girls building each other up: Chloé in her business venture and Marinette in her fashion career, plus the former could also serve as her model (Chloé's already been redeemed at this point and has been nice to Marinette). Not to mention they enjoy doing all the lovey-dovey stuff.

Tikki/Plagg

Screw canon with "Kwami don't understand love or human's feelings", Tikki and Plagg are the oldest married couple ever around!!! The balance, opposite attracts, fun bickering, sweet nickname Plagg only has for Tikki? They're married, your Honour!

Alya/Marinette

Best friends to lovers is a go!! It's a shame the show is so inconstant with Alya's characterization, but let's forget it for a moment: Alya is the one who openly stood up to Chloé for Marinette when they didn't know one another, Alya keeps rooting for Marinette in everything she does and helps whenever she can, is her confident and keeps giving her pep talk... what's not to love? Sure, Alya isn't perfect, and she's still a teen learning subtility among other things. And I don't think I need to expand on what Marinette does for Alya and everyone else, the poor girl even needs a long vacation! Burn whatever Lila is doing to Alya's brain whenever she appears on screen, Alya is a good friend and potential GF for Marinette!

Felix/Marinette

I am glad Felix was replaced by Adrien, I don't care if the quality of the show dropped or is imitating a roller-coaster ride. I've seen enough "girl is infatuated with a (selfish) boy who's acting like an asshole to her, whilst drooling all over a persona of hers", and I am glad they went for the "classmates-friends-to-lovers" route. Felix isn't "a jerk with a heart of gold", that's fanon Felix, and while some creators have very good AUs for the pairing (some I even follow!), it got tarnished in my eyes by the too many salt fics where Felix comes around to "save Marinette from EvUlanDsTOopiD classmates and Adrien". UGH. I despise how they made Felix an asshole only to try and make me feel sorry for him afterwards, there are two kinds of assholes, and Felix in his first apparitions wasn't in the "likeable" one.

Adrien/Nino

Underrated, underdeveloped, wasted potential, WHY?! They would make a very cute couple!! Also, gimme more of their friendship on screen goddamnit!!!!! They would be so fun to follow, example: Nino is usually being chill and smiling yet he (internally or not) completely freak out when Adrien makes a social faux pas due to his upbringing or casually buys him some expensive stuff "DUDE PLEASE DON'T 😨" "Did I do something wrong?? Are you mad? 😢" "Nonononono I'm not mad but... next time, just follow my lead and keep your money, please??" (still he lets Adrien give him gifts though because it's one of his love languages)

Luka/Nino

Anon, either you've been through my main blog (respect, for it's so chaotic and mostly untagged) or you're a mind-reader because it's a rare pair that I'd love to see more!! I admit that the idea crossed my mind kind of randomly, mostly when I was working on my Miraculous Team AU, but then I couldn't stop thinking about it. With good development, these two could work well! They'd make a fun, cute and chill couple, both music lovers and artists in different fields. Nino could be the shoulder Luka could lean on, he who is so often the one to dry people's tears, the two would support each other in a calm, steady way. Nino's perseverance would inspire Luka, and Luka's hidden sneakiness would come in handy for Nino... so much potential!

Is there anything funnier than canon Chloé's reaction to Lila bullying Marinette compared to fanon Chloé's reaction?

Chat Blanc

The titular character started off as a fanon concept that was picked up by the show.

Despite the Chat Noir, one of the series’ main heroes, being the one to be akumatized, the episode itself doesn’t hold any real relevance to the main story. It’s essentially there to cause Love Square Drama.

Also, it completely destroys any chance of the audience seeing Gabriel as a sympathetic villain, a father who’s “just doing this because he loves his family”.

Heart Hunter & Miracle Queen

Now, I’m not going to debate whether or not Chloé really had any sort of redemption arc. That being said, I do think that she was shown to have the potential to better herself and to have more of a character than just the mean rich girl archetype.

I’d say that the S3 finale didn’t crush any hope of Chloé reforming. Everything on from that, however… The writers really need everyone to know that this middle schooler incapable of being anything other than pure evil incarnate.

With that out the way, I do plan to have Chloé reform in this rewrite. Although, my ideas for this character arc still need a lot of piecing together.

I know you think there are many things about "fanon" Zoe that you think are generally more interesting than canon Zoe, including her more wholesome relationship with Chloe. But then again, in fanon, even Andre's relationship with Chloe is more wholesome than the canon established in Seasons 4 and 5. So just out of curiosity, is there anything, or even just one thing, about Canon Zoe that you find more compelling than so called "fanon" Zoe?

I mean, I suppose it depends on who's fanon?

I write her as Pan, and comfortable with it (but not immune to absolute brain melting crushes) so that takes care of the Sapphics thing.

I've written her as a resourceful and motivated wielder of the Bee miraculous, and someone who thinks independently as well. That takes care of the hero aspect.

I've written her as a fierce defender of her family, but also willing to cross her family.

I've written her as one of Mari's besties.

What *is* there for canon to have that fanon doesn't?

Now not all fanon is better than canon, there's a lot of fanon out there. I think though that fanon has treated her a lot better than canon did. Except for the saltfics of course. I don't like salt fics of any kind though so 🤷‍♀️

Zoé just deserves better than to be juggled between being the anti-Chloé and being another tool for the love square.

Seriously, her confession to Marinette only existed to give Marinette the confidence to confess to Adrien. The pool girl has *nothing* that is her own.

Canon vs Fanon

Canon Chloé: You two are ridiculous!

Canon Lila: Not to mention weak. You actually caved and became friends with Marinette? Pathetic.

AU Chloé: We're pathetic? Are you kidding me? I'm not the one who has to use my best friend to do my homework for me... Anymore... What's more, I have more friends, REAL friends, than you've ever had, a boyfriend who loves me, and a healthier relationship with my family.

AU Lila: And at least I embrace who I am. Your name might not even really be Lila. And I don't have to leech off a supervillain to feel important. *takes AU Chloé's hand* And my friendships are based off love and forgiveness, not lies and empty promises.

Canon Chloé: Whatever. It doesn't matter.

Canon Lila: At the end of the day, we're the originals and you're not.

AU Lila: We don't care! We still exist!

AU Chloé: And if being canon means having to be anything like you, then maybe we don't want to be! *starts to leave* And by the way, Marinette is a great friend, in yours and a lot of other universes. And I pity you because you will never know.

FWIW I have found in my writing *waves at AO3* that starting with an incredibly simple and seemingly small plotline *really helps* it'll expand on its own.

'I'm going to rewrite X!' or 'Here are my 8 OCs to join the main cast!' are huge undertakings, and can quickly turn into a mental and emotional load.

Just as an example of what I mean. One of my stories started from the core: Road Trip.

Picked out two characters:Chloé &Marinette (chaos factor)

Okay, why would they be together?

Following Adrien. (Easy canon motive)

Why?

Gabriel(antagonist) is taking him and Lila on a second 'First Love' tour since the furst one failed (canon happening)

Needed Canon Divergence- Felix's plan failed, lovesick Marinette transformed back early(humour scene) so Gabe is going to unleash akumas across the globe on the trip to ruin Ladybug's rep.

Inciting event- Marinette overhears Lila(love rival) bragging about how she'll convince Gabriel to arrange a Marriage for herself and Adrien on the trip. Marinette panics, then plots. Reveals Lila's plan to Chloé causing the other to fly into indignant rage and call for her private jet to follow them. Mari gets to come along because she got the itinerary from Adrien earlier.

And 81k later hijinks, emotional trauma, healing, action et al just from just bouncing the characters off each other, almost no planning. All from 'road trip.'

This happens regularly 😂

My longest AU was in fact 'this was just gonna be a one shot to see what this rare pair might look like.'

Because of me being a Chloenette shipper (fanon version with MOST of season two in mind) I’d simply just abandon them following Adrien or simply get lost while trying to follow Adrien and them having hijinks in the place that they end up in and forgetting about him.

(As you can see I’m a firm believer in “Chloe and Marinette shouldn’t have to bond just because of Adrien and their mutual dislike for Lila (or any other girl that “threatens” their relationship with Adrien.)”

But with that being said, yeah I can see how one would get carried away with a prompt like this- Sooo much potential.

the more I read Claire's POV, I remember fanon Chloé. wanting to protect the person they love despite the risk it may pose???? struggling to keep themselves in check for fear of being too vulnerable???? willing to put their safety, future and life of the one they love before their own???? The Various Character Problems and how I’ve dealt with some of them

(plus an episode list for seasons one and two please ask me questions it’s the only way I feel valid in posting this stuff)

Finally decided to talk more about my rewrite unprompted and what better way than to talk about the holes I have in fact, walked myself into and how I’ve mostly managed to deal with them. For both my convenience and yours, I have ordered these in a numbered list from the most dealt with to the least dealt with.

1. The Félix Problem

Felix was by far the easiest to deal with, especially since I got rid of the zodiac kwamis and changed what the peacock miraculous does. Rather than assistant to the emotional terrorist, Félix is Adrien’s kinda shady cousin. He still does get some people akumatized in his debut episode (which might also mark Alya’s first akumatization cause there’s zero way my Alya would think Chloé is Ladybug), but he makes no attempts to kiss Ladybug while disguised as Adrien and does explain why he did what he did and is mostly sorry for it. He then continuously and kind of sporadically pops up for the rest of season three, especially given that season three takes place from May to August.

2. The Lila Problem

Why was main problem came in the fact that I didn’t know if I wanted to use her canon-ish portrayal or pre-Volpina fanon interpretation. Not to reveal my age I guess, but I was watching miraculous ladybug before Lila was introduced, and all we got was a teaser image of the back of Volpina’s head. I was there in the fandom whenever everyone thought Volpina was gonna be Chat Noir’ rival for Ladybug’s affection. And even post-Volpina still had shades of that with Lila pursuing Marinette and then we got jealous Adrien. At this point, what I’ve landed on is Lila still lies about being friends with Ladybug, Ladybug politely asked her to maybe not do that, Lila gets akumatized, and maybe Adrien reveals he knew she was lying the whole time. Regardless of when Adrien reveals he knew Lila was lying Lila targets him rather than Marinette, by actively attempting to befriend Marinette, not knowing that she knows Lila’s a liar. I don’t think Lila will be like a man antagonist. She’ll probably just be like a Chloé.

3. The Emilie Problem

Trying to decide if Adrien’s mom was dead or not should be easier than it is but it’s not. In fact, I have three possible endings for her. Number one is that she’s just straight up dead and her body is like I cryogenic pod so it doesn’t decompose. Gabriel‘s goal is to bring back his super dead wife.

Number two is that Emilie is in a coma. This has the same markings as Emilie just being dead except less angsty because we could have Emilie come out of her coma when she is taken to an actual hospital instead of a weird cryogenic pod.

Number three is Emilie ran away in the middle of the night. This is the most of the options and the reason why is because Emilie is dead or in a coma she had no choice when she left Adrien with Gabriel, but running away and leaving her son behind means she made a conscious decision that her happiness and survival is more important than her son’s. I have two specials that take place after this series ends that could explore this fact depending on what happens when Gabriel is caught. Option one is that Emilie comes back once Gabriel is caught and we get some of Adrien’s feelings about his mother, learning that she could have come back at anytime or even though she could’ve taken him with her and she did the follow up of that and can they even reconcile that fact? The other option is that a learning that Gabriel has been arrested she stays away. Emilie is aware of the fact that she abandoned her son and he might not want to see her and maybe it’s just easier not try and change that. That being said, Emilie could have like a letter sent to Adrien explaining things and offer an olive branch and it’s up to him if he chooses to take it.

Not gonna lie this might be my favourite of the three, even if I think it be the least satisfying for the show, specials not included.

4. The Luka Problem

I don’t know if people were expecting this to be the main problem, but it is. Unlike Kagami, I feel that Lucas’s entire existence is contingent on Marinette dating life was written to her midseasons love interest. And yes, Kagami was written to do the same, I feel like she just has a bit more going on. Actually I only realized that I hadn’t figured out what to do with Luka because I realized that I backed myself into a corner when I decided to put Frozer, an episode that is about a date before the introduction of Kagami and Luka. I honestly don’t even know when or where I’m gonna introduce Luka into the show. Because of how quickly I have the show going, I can’t really have episodes where Marinette dates Luka and Adrien dates Kagami and so I feel like Luka’s entire purpose has kind of been removed. I mean I could, but it feels cruel to write those characters dating when I know they’re gonna break up because I have the main endgame couple as Marinette and Adrien.

I only have three episodes of season three planned atm: Félix, Argos, and Befana.

after turning 18 and getting access to his full inheritance, Adrien discovers that you can rent whole islands on AirBnB. he immediately rents one, and invites all of his friends for a week-long mediterraine holiday where they eat, and dance, and go to the beach, and generally have the time of their life. he also invites Félix and fanon!Chloé, who, upon landing, scrunch up their noses and decide, "Adrien, this has been a splurge. why didn't you ask, we would have lent you either of ours for free."

(for Adrien's next birthday, they proceed to gift him his very own island. Adrien has no idea what to do with it, can you give a whole island to charity?)
