Summary: Sleeping with Charlie Weasley was easy. He was charming, and handsome, and was quite talented in bed… Finding out you’re pregnant with your casual fuck buddies baby was not easy.

Reader’s journey through co-parenting, an overbearing Molly Weasley who wants reader to marry her son to give the baby a “real family”, and maybe falling a tiny bit in love with her baby daddy.

His red hair is wild, well wilder than usual, as he holds my hand. Correction, as I crush his hand in my grip.

"Just breathe--"

"Charlie Weasley!" I glare at him, "If you tell me to 'just breathe' one more time--"

His smile is crooked as he cups my face in his large hand, "I'm sorry, darling. I've never helped deliver a human baby before--"

I lean my head back against our couch, smiling, "me either."

Charlie chuckles, "do you need anything? I should've read up more about childbirth-- Obviously, I've only dealt with dragons and eggs... I'm not treating you like a creature, am I?" His blue eyes are wide with sudden panic.

"Char," I shake my head, "darling, you're fine. You're being a perfect gentleman, I promise." 

Charlie squeezes my hand, "do you need anything?"

I sigh, giving him a brave smile, "No, I think I'm fine. Did you send for the healer? The specific one I planned with?"

"I did; she sent an owl back saying she will be over as soon as possible."

Nodding, I readjust the way I'm sitting, relieving some of the stress on my lower spine, "and your parents?"

"Did you want me to? You might find the entire family here--"

"Just-- ask for your mum, please?" I want someone I trusted here that knew what the hell was going on... ideally, that would have been my mother, but I trust Mrs. Weasley to be my surrogate mother figure at this moment. 

"Are you sure?" he asks again.

"Charles..." I frown, "I'm completely sure I want your mother here. Please, stop asking me!"

Charlie scatches the back of his head, "Sorry. I'll do that right now."

"You don't know how honored I am, (y/n), that you wanted me here," Mrs. Weasley runs a comforting hand across my forehead.

I nod, "I-- I didn't know who else should be here... and you know my mum can't be here... I appreciate that you came."

She nods, sympathy in her eyes, "Well, I'm going to do the best I can to be comforting. However, you need me, dear."

"What should I do?" Charlie's hectic appearance hasn't subsided. 

"Just do anything (y/n) asks of you, dear."

I grin, "Oo, I like the sound of that."

He chooses to ignore me, "that's it? I can't do anything proactive?"

"You can-- well, where are we doing this?" Molly looks at me.

"I-- I don't know... what do you think?"

Molly rubs her hands on my arms, "Well, all six times I've done this, I've chosen my bedroom. The bed will be comfortable."

I look at Charlie, "are you comfortable with that?"

"Am I?" He raises his eyebrows, "I'm comfortable with anything you want, darling. Don't worry about how I feel."

I grin at him, feeling incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful man in my life, "okay. The bedroom will be fine."

The healer I worked with for the last few months arrives moments after we've settled in the bedroom. She checks everything she needs to before asking to speak with Molly in the hall.

"What do you think they're talking about?" I ask Charlie. He's sitting next to me in our bed, his hand in mine.

"Maybe logistic stuff?"

I snort, "what in the world does that mean?"

Charlie smiles his crooked 'Charlie smile,' "I have no idea. All of this is-- not dragons."

The laughter escapes my lips before I can stop it, "Dragons? Charles Weasley, you've read at least a dozen baby books. Where has all that knowledge gone?"

Charlie scratches his head, "I'm so nervous! It's hard to remember everything."

"Well, I'm glad you're not treating me like a dragon, at least."

Charlie's holding the baby in the yellow blanket his mother made months back. 

"I just can't believe--" He moves a bit of the blanket, revealing our son's perfect face.

"Same," I lean back into my pillows, completely exhausted yet desperately wanting to continue to watch Charlie and our son.

"He's so small and perfect." Charlie comes over to sit next to me, leaning back against the pillows so I can gaze at the sleeping child along with him. 

"I'm glad he's so cute. Makes up for the last day." Playfully, I laugh as I trace a finger down the baby's nose.

"Merlin, I don't know how you did it. But you did amazing." Charlie leans over to press a kiss to my temple, "Honestly. I'm not sure how you did it, (y/n)."

"Was that crazier than anything you've experienced with the dragons?" I tease him.

"Definitely. Nothing like a hatching." He grins down at our baby.

I giggle, "That sounds much easier than what I just did."

"Oh definitely. But, I think he," Charlie smiles down at the sleeping baby, "is a thousand times better than anything I've ever helped bring into the world."

I raise my eyebrows in surprise, "Never thought I'd see the day that Charlie Weasley said something was better than dragons." 

"Never was anything really comparable to dragons till now, honestly."

I smile, "What do you think about the name Nikolas Cadmus (y/l/n)-Weasley?"

"Cadmus?" Charlie asks absentmindedly as the baby yawns.

"Yeah! I was looking through a book, and it stuck out. He needs a proper first name, and Nikolas was my father's."

"I like it. How do you feel about it, Nikolas?" The baby blinks once before closing his big eyes. "I think he approves."

"Good," I yawn.

"Do you need me to leave?" Charlie Weasley, always the gentleman.

"No, you can stay here if you'd like." Charlie seems to weigh his options but eventually sets Nikolas in his bassinet. I yawn again, leaning further into my pillows and closing my eyes. I don't expect to feel his body's weight again on the bed, but it's not an unpleasant feeling when he leans his head against my shoulder. 

"I love you."

My eyes shoot open, and immediately I'm wide awake.
