Fandom Problem #7300:
The fact so many outspoken, one-topic proshipping blogs are also deluded people who diagnosed themselves with DID after watching tiktok videos, and who rally against literal DID specialists for saying there's an epidemic of mass sociogenic illness relating to DID due to tiktok, really isn't helping the "being against censorship is the logical and common sense thing" argument. How can people think being against censorship is common sense when half the people visibly posting about it on a regular basis are not exercising common sense or an ability to self examine themselves? I wish there were more people outwardly in favour of freedom of fanfiction and literature WITHOUT that kind of bullshit on their blogs.

Iris and Amber find themselves grappling with all manner of unfortunate questions as they attempt to acquire a rare text from a ruthless noble on behalf of a force far more dangerous than any problem that could arise during this all or nothing heist!
Submission 8: List the fandom and ships here (if applicable): Metal Fight Beyblade Word count: 2700 Short description: Stranded. Hungry. Kyoya Tategami is notorious for willing to do anything it takes to win a battle, but that was against physical opponents. Now, he must battle against the elements and mother nature herself in order to prove that he's strong enough to bare "the fangs of the heart," not only to the Dark Nebula, but to himself and restore his pride, even if his mind cracks and crumbles away in the process. Submission 9: List the fandom and ships here (if applicable): Avatar: The Last Airbender, Sokka genfic Word count: 919 Short description: "“His father said something else, but Sokka couldn’t hear over the rush of blood in his ears. Him, in an arranged marriage to the princess of the Fire Nation—it must have been a sad excuse for a joke.” In a universe where the Hundred Year War didn’t happen, Sokka struggles to deal with the news that he’s being forced into a political marriage with someone he doesn’t know or love. In which Sokka fights with his family, reconciles with Katara in his super secret igloo fort, and has a heart-to-heart with Hakoda on the way to the Fire Nation."

Basically, this is a weird atmospheric horror thing about being isolated in your single apartment, and also a time loop."
Submission 11: List the fandom and ships here (if applicable): Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright/Miles Edgeworth (Narumitsu/Wrightworth), implied/background Klavier/Apollo Word count: 12134 Short description: "This is the first chapter of an Ace Attorney fic I outlined a couple of years ago but never finished! It assumes a lot of background knowledge of AA1-AA5. Taking place three days after the end of AA5, Athena is hanging around in the Prosecutor's Office waiting for Simon when she runs into Miles Edgeworth. He unexpectedly reveals that they have something in common — they were both led to believe that they killed one of their own parents. But as they're talking about it, and as Edgeworth talks about Phoenix Wright, something seems off. Athena senses discord in his voice. And once she realizes that Edgeworth has some misgivings about being ""just friends"" with Wright, she does the only logical thing — enlist all their co-workers in a plot to set them up. (Also Apollo talks to Wright about Edgeworth/DL-6, this is all right before Christmas so Phoenix visits Edgeworth and they analyze his childhood trauma through the lens of tort law and nearly kiss (?), Phoenix and Edgeworth are very much in love but in denial about it, lots of scenes and moments to choose from! Hopefully I'll finish this one day.)"

Problem 7300
Forgive the metaphor /g but even a broken clock is right once a day. I can't knock people for one opinion, even if they're not just barking up the wrong tree but the wrong forest with another opinion. It's like that meme (what was it) where he says "when the person you hate makes a good point"
They're tiring and scary to be around though yes! /hj

Including a few additional anon replies to the same problem:
Anon:
Some people in any group are just totally lost in the online discourse/group/clique sauce, and have outstanding personal issues, so they have to make those unique or bold online identities a part of *their* identity, unfortunately. People love collecting too and it just emboldens them more. There's a reason a lot of these people collect dozens of labels and constantly make flags. I just block them instantly.
Anon:
Spend 10 minutes trawling the "fakeclaimers dni", "actually did", and "sysblr" tags and go on a blocking spree. It will hide most of the major offenders. Godspeed, I know they're everywhere. There has to be 100 people roleplaying Sonic the Hedgehog characters alone.
Anon:
The defensiveness in 7300 replies is so telling. Tell me you don't have a clue about the disorder without telling me you don't have a clue. Anyone can spend five minutes looking at studies and presentations and reach the natural conclusion that these kiddos are completely out to lunch and grasping for ways to explain their mental health without realising most of what they're doing, daydreaming, etc, is either just part of the human experience rather than something to pathologize, or connected to a different disorder. I get finding escapism in characters and feeling lonely so you need to find your peopleTM and wanting to make sense of what you're going through, but people, this ain't it.

Honestly the nicest way to handle it is to ignore it.
I have a couple of friends who fell into the DID pipeline. I just don't engage them when they try to talk about it, and try to gently steer away from the topic when it comes up. I don't entertain it, I don't argue against it.
Trying to explain anything to them is wasted energy. They'll only dig their feet in and cling to the label harder. They feed off the attention, not just positive but negative too. They're partially doing it because they feel like they need to identify themselves as being part of a marginalized community, so while positive attention encourages them to push the act to further extremes, negative attention strokes their ego because they see it as proof of the "persecution" they experience. Eventually they'll grow out of it on their own, when it stops being trendy in a few years.

You guys need to be nicer to the young teenagers who’re self diagnosing themselves with DID… yeah it’s frustrated, but almost all of them are genuinely mentally ill and misguided or, hey, actually delusional!
The online DID community has a huge emphasis on reaffirming people that they aren’t faking, and that “if you were faking you’d be using it to get attention.” Which probably makes it really hard to leave that mindset, especially if the cause is delusion.
This is coming from someone who wholeheartedly believed they had DID because of delusions. It fucking sucked, it wasn’t fun and quirky. I’m lucky I didn’t properly join the online DID community, because it would’ve been near impossible to get out of that mindset
Tl;dr Just be sympathetic to these kids? Please? I know how frustrating it is to see people misdiagnosing themselves with serious disorders, but being condescending and mean is ESPECIALLY not going to help them

"What does proshipping have to do with the did situation"
I wonder if it's because when people use common sense and awareness like ship and let ship you'd think they can extend that common sense to other things, especially big things like not diagnosing yourself as a 15 year old off things like tiktok, so it's inconsistent. That's just a guess though. I don't know!
