Fandom Problem #5327:

When people complain about "entry level feminism" in shows for kids. Like, of course it's "entry level" it's for kids, what other level should they be on? If you want something more advanced have you thought of maybe watching something for adults?

Yes yes, kids shows could have complex themes that could be enjoyed by adults too, yada yada. But it's always the people who are like PROUD of the fact they hate adult media and only like kids' media 'cause it feels more "safe", that then want to complain about it not being complex enough for them. Have you considered maybe it's possible that it's time to graduate to the grown up table?

Like, why was I so bored by The Owl House when I adored Gravity Falls? Is Owl House BAD? No, it's just that I was a kid when Gravity Falls was airing and I was an adult by the time Owl House started.

I think a lot of us were teenagers who felt like we had to defend the fact that we still liked media with a target audience younger than us, by arguing it to be "actually much more mature than you might think!" and now as adults a lot of us are starting to grow out of things we used to like, but it admitting it to ourselves feels like a betrayal to our past selves.

But life goes on. Everyone has grown up, and Ladybug has allowed all of her teammates to retain their Miraculous permanently, just to be safe.

Now Marinette is working as the costume designer at the Palais Garnier, dating Luka, and confides in Alya and Master Fu about Miraculous-related problems.

She's joked about singing soprano in a show at the Palais Garnier, and has been taking singing lessons for fun, all from a mysterious person in the shadows as her teacher.

But now that the Palais Garnier is under new management, disturbing events keep happening, and when Chloé walks out after being targeted by the “Opera Ghost” one too many times, Marinette's shoved into the soprano role.

And now Marinette has to wonder: is Hawk Moth back, or is there something even MORE dangerous going on?

5327 This reminds me how when I was a kid, I watched YuGiOh all the time, I had the cards and everything. Recently I went back to watch season one of the show for nostalgia reasons, and it bored me to tears, it was the most generic thing ever, and the dialogue was just awful. It was probably the biggest "you're definitely not the target audience" slap in the face I'd ever had, lol.
