Scorpia isn't a Princess, just like them, but she's going to Princess Prom anyway - to ruin it for everyone. She hates doing it. And maybe herself, just a little. Face to face with who Adora and Catra have become outside the Horde and kindness from an inventor from the Whispering Woods, she might just find herself witness to the future of Etheria - and find her place in it.

This story was originally supposed to be called 'the Horde Whisperer.' That didn't happen.

Originally, this was supposed to be a light-hearted romp wherein Bow teased Scorpia into dancing with Perfuma and got her to join the Rebellion.

I couldn't write it. Days of fighting it. So I wrote a Catradora prom scene to loosen up my creativity, and - well, now we have this.

I am, apparently, constitutionally incapable of not writing epic, dramatic moments if I write in a setting long enough.

Bow still got his moment, thought, and if you've read Defiance, you know how I feel about Scorpia.

So. There we have it. The next one is already in process.

SPOP Creative Flex Summer SPOPtacular | prompt: Mermaid

The nascent Princess Alliance is off to Salineas to recruit Princess Mermista, fight the Horde, and save the world - in that order. Catra and Adora start to face some of what their upbringing has made them, and reforge their bond stronger and healthier. But when Catra figures out who a certain mermaid following them really is, she finds herself having to play diplomat and find out if the Alliance is doomed before it begins, and if Glimmer is right about what can save Etheria.

I'm going to hit all the prompts with this series, and all of them will have red creme fizz (red cream soda!) in them. For better or for worse! This is the second story in the series and the first of the series actually filling a prompt!
