Hello Again Everyone!

As you may, or may not have noticed, this blog has been on hiatus for some time now. The reason for that was because of an issue that arose between the moderators of this blog on how to move forward. From this point on this blog is no longer just a johnlock fanfic review blog, it is now a blog that celebrates all authors of fanfiction and supports whatever fanfiction they may write.

The mods of this blog are happy to announce that we are opening our submissions to ANY fanfiction author looking for some constructive criticism or just exposure. Whatever you write about we will be more than happy to review it. Our goal here is to show our support to the often underappreciated fanfiction authors and create a safe community where they can feel valued.

Any questions regarding these changes can be asked and will be answered in a timely manner. We appreciate our loyal followers who have stuck around during these times of change and hiatus.

Hey everyone I just broke 100 followers and I want to say thanks to all of you who stuck around for so long. I appreciate every single one of you, thanks for liking and reblogging my random shit on here. On the other hand my fanfiction review blog, fanatic4fanfiction, just broke 700 followers. So me and my moderators are planning to do a celebratory post on that blog. We are currently planning a small giveaway and a follow-forever. Nineteen Seconds of Falling

Pairing: Sherlock and John

Summary: Sherlock spends exactly nineteen seconds zoned out after John asks him to be best man. He retreats to his mind palace in the desperate hope of figuring out what he wants, unfortunately for him his mind palace is full of people who keep trying to give him advice.

Words: 3,723

Thoughts: Almost all of this fic takes place inside Sherlock's Mind Palace which is something I've never come across while reading fanfiction. It was, overall, a very interesting idea and EmmyAngua painted it really well. The transitions between characters and places is flawless. I love the whole battle Sherlock is fighting with his feelings and his 'misuse' of his mind palace for escaping reality. It's a fantastic setting for the plot and it made me really think about how broken Sherlock is after his time apart from John and how badly he wants something more than friendship. BELIEVE IN TJLC GUYS. ITS REAL.

Thoughts: This fic fucked me up. It's devastating and gorgeous and everyone should read it right now. The way ShyOwl describes pain made me curl up into a ball and cry. It is magnificent.

Thoughts: Wow....just...wow. Words cannot describe how much I absolutely love this fic. Definitely one of my all time favorites. I followed it all through out it's W.I.P mode and now that it is officially finished I can review it and recommend it to all of you. That said, READ. THIS. FIC. It's a unforgettable mash of angst, tears, and the fluffiest fluff I've ever read. This fic will keep you up for days and you will love every second of it.

Thoughts: John and Sherlock are in love and they won't admit it out loud to each other and I need to breathe because this fic is perfect. It's very angsty, and very sweet. Loved the tension and I'm a sucker for fics that put Lestrade and his team in the midst of all of it. Very cute, fun, short fic.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Hello everyone! I have some bad news, and then I have some good news. Which, when you think about it, mixes together and makes alright news. (I'm hilarious, I know)

ANYWAYS, I've been thinking lately (shocking, right?) and I was remembering the good old days when this blog was just all fanfiction reviews and I didn't cry about johnlock so hard on here. Well welcome back to the good old days! This account is turning into a strictly fanfiction review only blog. No more gifs or pictures or text post about johnlock, sorry!

Thoughts: Did someone say crack? Because, dear readers, that is what this fic is. I absolutely love Mycroft in this fic; he's so protective and he's just a dear! (Wow, I never thought I'd say that about the man who is basically the British government) This fic is virtually smut-free though, there are mentions of it; but no sexy-times. But I don't think that lessens the quality of this fic, or any fic, at all. This is awesome crack, and I think we all have a secret weakness for crack fic.

When it Rains, It Pours

Pairing: John/Victor, John/Sherlock

Summary: John starts dating Victor Trevor because, in John's mind, Victor is an attainable version of Sherlock. Cue crazy, jealous, petulant Sherlock.

 When John first meets Victor Trevor, the man is doing something amazing; he is making Sherlock Holmes laugh. The kind of deep-bellied laugh that John thought he was solely capable of bringing out from the detective.

Thoughts: To celebrate 100 followers, a review! This fic has probably one of my favorite interpretations of Victor Trevor because the usual interpretation of Victor is this really posh man who's trying to ruin John and Sherlock's relationship. While this fic is not entirely free of that trope, I think the author did a good job of making Victor less of a bad guy. (I have that same problem with Mary in fics too, pre-series 3) ANYWAYS, I won't go into specifics; because of spoilers, but this is a really good fic I highly recommend it if you like jealous!Sherlock. And who doesn't like smut? Because this fic certainly does not lack in that area either.

Everlasting

Summary: Most lives end. A Tuck Everlasting fusion, in which the Holmes brothers have lived for a very, very long time.

Thoughts: If you've ever read Tuck Everlasting, then you need to read this fic. That being said, you don't have to read the book to get the plot of this fic. Which I am in love with. World-building is SUCH an important part of ANY AU and the author, cypress, did it so brilliantly. Cypress also wrote the best ending imaginable without being OOC. THE ENDING. Let's just talk about, for a second here no spoilers, how utterly PERFECT it is. There were tears and feelings and emotional trauma. That's what I call a good fic.

A Study in Winning

Pairing: Sherlock/John

Summary: John and Sherlock are professional tennis players and it’s Wimbledon. One is a broken almost was at the end of his career, the other an arrogant rising star tipped for greatness. It should have been a straightforward tournament. It really should have been. How were they to know that a chance encounter would change everything?

Words: 106,658

Thoughts: I reviewed 'The Bang and the Clatter' by earlgreytea68 a while back and I mentioned this fic in the review. It's a Tennis AU, yes, but don't let your lack of knowledge of the sport stop you from reading this fic. Jupiter_Ash's writing of the actual tennis game is SUPER clear so you need no introduction to the sport. Anyways, this fic is brilliant! Both John and Sherlock are so in character throughout the whole fic. I also recommend reading the rest of her 'Tennis' series as well because they are just as good as 'A Study in Winning'. It's smutty and angsty and perfect.

Summary: John assumes that Sherlock is playing chess by himself. Sherlock lets him think what he will - it's certainly better than admitting to the truth.

Thoughts: I don't read many 'Holmes Brothers bonding' type fics; maybe because I'm too busy reading fluff and smut, but this made me smile so I'm reviewing (or is it more like recommending?) it. Oh and this author PostcardsfromTheoryland, love her username, also writes really good fluff. So go check that out if you like fluff, and honestly who in their right mind doesn't like fluff?
