What types of fanworks do you create? Mostly I read and write fanfiction. I sometimes record podfics or translate other people's Spanish-language fics to English. I also occasionally doodle fanart and make animated GIFs of fanart. I have super top-secret hidden wish to embody Matt's public identity suit from Mark Waid's comic run but cosplay ain't cheap. 

What are your favourite types of fanworks, when you're not creating? On Discord I have fun reading and collaborating on headcanons, snippets-without-homes, and various other not!fic.

What do you like in particular about this fandom? Superhero origins and explorations of their powers: the alienation and responsibility, identity shenanigans and identity reveals, parallels to queer identities, the authorial struggle to express or represent unknowable perceptions of reality, the grey and overlapping borderland between sciences and the fantastical, the raw persistence of extraordinary faith and courage and hope and compassion wielded by everyman characters suddenly beset by fantastical power and equally impossible challenges, negotiation of evolving relationships with non-powered friends and ordinary citizens (especially outsider POV), the deep, abiding, gruff love of NYC and her denizens for her heroes.

Do you like participating in fan events? I love DDE and have participated three times. So much fun to see the work everyone produces, not just the excitement of your own personal gift and the challenge of your giftee's prompt(s). My first fics in the DD fandom were posted in response to significantowl's Daredevil bingo, which I won right at the deadline. The first Avocados server telephone exchange and the first MattFog week (DDE: check out @themattfogblog !) went swimmingly and I can't wait to participate again. I also love to be pulled into writing or creative sprints with a prompt and just a few minutes of preparation time; the words seem to flow particularly well when there's a clock ticking and friends also working away at similar ideas.I was introduced to Discord through VoiceTeam 2020, an annual podficcing collaborative extravaganza.

What about your creating process? Since joining various Discord servers I've found communal timed writing sprints to be incredibly fun and productive! I can take a prompt and produce 500-1,000 words of banter pretty quickly. Though these fics don't usually have all that much plot, they are often fun! I also occasionally dictate in-character voice notes on my phone, especially when my brain has an idea while I'm trying to fall asleep.

Do you interact a lot with other fans? Mostly I left comments on AO3 until I stumbled into some friendly Discord servers, where I'm now fairly active. I would love more interaction with Spanish-speaking fans especially. I am always happy to receive critique and constructive feedback on any of my works. Likewise, all of my work is remixable, with the request that you link back to me and let me know so I can be excited about it!

Is there any particular piece you'd like to showcase for this post? For recent works in the fandom, I'm surprised "Oscillations are steady; this is me (us) vacillating" (https://archiveofourown.org/works/30913472) hasn't had more hits. It's short and captures a certain bittersweetness to Matt & Foggy's strained relationship in early NMCU DD season 1. Also, Josie makes a small appearance and Josie is great! Read "Oscillations" if you want to get a sense of the typical rhythm of my fanfic, which can be boiled down to: not a lot of plot but tons of banter. The "Team Red Discord Server Inaugural Murder Mystery" (https://archiveofourown.org/works/27648184) deserves special mention for being hugely collaborative and a fun story featuring lots of this fandom's favorite characters and some auxillary/peripheral characters as well. "Minds, and Hearts" (https://archiveofourown.org/works/14475504) is the fic I'm most proud of. It's in the fandom of The Flash TV show but can be read fandom-blind and deals with a lot of the same topics I like exploring in Daredevil; namely: how do everyday lives change when we suddenly have super-heroic powers of surveillance? "Fomites" (https://archiveofourown.org/works/8889973) is fun as a densely-interwoven mystery based on a board game but grounded in science -- and is therefore easy to read fandom-blind.

Do you have other fandoms you'd like to talk about? Look, I just really like superheroes okay? I fell for Cole & Zeke (inFAMOUS) shenanigans and bonding before I found Matt & Foggy. I love Cisco Ramon's simultaneous infectious enthusiasm and burdened reluctance in the face of superpowers on The Flash, and his abilities mirror Matt's in interesting ways. My longest-abiding curiosity is probably for Spider-Man, in almost all his incarnations.

Is there anything else you want to tell us about yourself? I'm probably not a sophisticated and compelling artificial intelligence masquerading as human. (I am not sophisticated.) Oh, and I heckin' love dogs.

That’s right folks, the Reigisa Creative Works Exchange is finally here!!!!!!!!!

For those of you just joining the party, this exchange is a free-for-all, gift-giving extravaganza for anyone and everyone to participate in and enjoy! And if you have been listening to me go on (and on) about this since September, kudos to you and you probably know this by heart but I’ll repeat it anyway~

The rules are very simple: if you have a gift you wish to give to the Reigisa fandom, simply post it here on tumblr.com and tag it as #reigisaexchange. (Please remember to put it in the first 5 tags you use or we won’t see it!) We here at @iwatobies​ will reblog your gift for all our followers to see, and hopefully everyone just has a really great time! The event starts on Friday the 14th of December (which just happens to be Rei’s birthday) and runs until the 24th. There is no pressure to create a particular gift for a particular someone because we will love and appreciate every single fic, fanart, amv, meta post, gif, graphic or ANYTHING ELSE you wish to create! Here we go, the nitty gritty!

First off, since this event runs until the 24th, it is not too late to participate! Gifts are accepted and appreciated the whole time! And there is no rush at all to post gifts all at once—in fact, it’s probably more fun to stagger gifts so that the event keeps going for all ten days!

If you find yourself strapped for ideas, some wonderful followers submitted a few ideas to consider that you can see HERE. There’s also some broad suggestions for themes listed at the bottom of this post HERE. But really, go wild with your own ideas as well! And if you don’t happen to finish on time, that’s fine. We will of course accept late submissions! This event is built on the idea of being a low-stress, plain old fun explosion of new Reigisa content for us all to enjoy!

How many gifts you give is up to you! (And if you don’t have it in you to create something this year, then I fully hope you enjoy seeing other people’s creations!) Works of the (ahem) not so safe for work variety ARE ALLOWED. However, with the new tumblr rules coming into effect soon, please post a censored or incomplete version of your work to tumblr and host the main event on a different website, otherwise we cannot reblog it here. Archive of our Own and fanfiction.net are good sites to post erotic fanfic. Pixiv, Twitter, Patreon, and Deviantart still host erotic images, so those are some possibilities for artists to use as host sites. If any questions or concerns come up, feel free to contact us immediately. 

Please post each gift with the tag #reigisaexchange. You can also tag #iwatobies as we’ll be checking that tag regularly as well. You don’t need to mention this blog or the exchange directly in your post if you don’t want to—as long as you tag it with #reigisaexchange, we’ll know it’s a gift! Although if you are making a gift to fulfill a specific request, it might be nice to mention that so that the requester can find your gift more easily!

We will reblog each gift THREE TIMES to make sure they all reach a broad audience. If you posted your gift and do not see it in the EXCHANGE TAG after a 24hr period, then please let us know so we can correct that immediately! Any questions or clarification posts will also be in that tag if you happen to send us an ask.

Okay, so if this is your first time doing anything like this, it’s pretty easy! You can host sfw gifts on your own blog, but if you feel like using an outside site, even for sfw gifts, here’s an example to help out.

Since fic will likely be the most common submission, here is a screenshot of an example link for a fic I posted last year:

This was done by choosing to create a LINK POST, and then setting that link to the fic on my Ao3 account. I chose to include the fandom, pairing, and word count info because...that’s just what I like to do, but you can include whatever information you want. In my experience, putting word count and (I didn’t do that in this example, whoops) rating is a good idea to give potential readers an idea of what they’re looking at. Adding a summary or excerpt can also help draw readers in. And if you’re writing for the exchange, tagging #reigisaexchange would be the priority at the end there. 

If I was dealing with a photo that needed to be censured, instead of a linked post, I would suggest posting the sfw version of your art as a photo post (cropped or using those thick black lines to cover the naked bits), and then putting the link to the full thing in the description. 

If you have any further questions, please let me know. No such thing as a dumb question. Just remember that this event is designed to be low-stress, so if anything is stressing you out, I am all ears!

Introduce yourself, please! Who are you?

Hiya! I’m Writhing/Sintero, antithesis of good taste, and black sheep of the Staraccuser fandom. ;D

According to @scorpling: It was a thundering night, ages ago, when I was first summoned onto the realm of mortals in a ritual of blood and screams. And now, for the greater purpose that was placed upon me, I find myself in the arts of carnal pictures and words.

I also take commissions.

How and when did you get into the pairing?

Fun fact: I’m a fandom granny. So, after watching GotG and falling in love with the characters, I unhooked my phone and booted up the good ol’ dial-up modem to go onto the interwebs. As it turned out, Yahoo!groups and Livejournal were apparently no longer the “in thing,” and I found myself having to consult the Google to find out where all of the hip kids were congregating (and posting porn). The first result was Tumblr, the first search I did on Tumblr was for Ronan, and the first post I ever liked was the Staraccusevents call for gift requests. After perusing the Staraccuser tag, I realized that, “hey, yeah, it would be pretty sweet if Peter and Ro were boning.” That’s when Staubengel sunk her claws into me, and never let go.

What made you stay in the fandom?  

An intense and well justified fear of @staubengel hunting me down where I live and permanently removing my kneecaps.

Well, that and the fact that Ronan will never stop being my favorite bald, blue sex god. <3

What do you like about the pairing?

I really enjoy the balance of Peter’s bombastic personality and Ronan’s flat affect. It makes for a fun dynamic to explore in fanworks.  

Too, I’m almost thankful for the MCU version of Ronan being rather unidimensional in that it allows for a lot of Leeway (har har har) in playing with the potential of what his character could be.

What was your favourite part of GotG with them in it (not necessarily together)?

I adore the intro in the first GotG! We see Peter’s trademark buffoonery, but his immature facade belies the competence and strategy with which he then escapes Korath and Co. It’s a really neat way of layering his characterization with nuance so early in the film.

For Ronan, I love the scene where he battles Drax and dumps him in the vat of CSF. Everything Ronan does in this scene is so lackadaisical. His power is vast and he’s confident in his own strength. He’s lovely.  

Do you like your Ronan redeemed or still a fun, blue zealot?

Redemption is for the weak! ;D

Honestly, I tend to stray from the zealot concept, but he will always be a murderous, self important jackhole to me.

What is your favourite kink/setting/trope/AU for this pairing?

I’m a sucker for Ravager!Ronan. Having him as a self-serving antihero, working in conjunction with Yondu, is the single most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. *swoons*

Extra points if Ronan is a disgraced, disenchanted Accuser when he joins up.

Extra, extra points if he’s Yondu’s underling.

What kind of content to you create within the fandom? Fanfics, fanart, edits, something else?

Oh gosh, all of the above! XD Most of my fanworks are either art or fic, posted here and on AO3.

What is your favourite self-made content you yourself have created for this fandom?

Probably my fic Ebb and Flow (http://archiveofourown.org/works/11035590), on AO3. Ravager!Ronan is my jam, and this fic was my first foray into really exploring his character. <3

Tell us a bit about it! How did you come up with the idea behind that content and how did you bring it to life?

This was actually written as part of the Staraccuser Week extravaganza on Tumblr. Each chapter is essentially a snapshot of Peter's life as he grows up aboard the Eclector under the reluctant guidance of Ronan, with the chapter concepts corresponding to the daily themes of Staraccuser Week.

It was wickedly fun to write, and @prisdreamsbravely was absolutely instrumental to the process of bringing my vision to life. Though, fair warning, please heed the tags.

What other fan(s) do you admire in the fandom?

There’s so much unbelievable talent in this fandom! It’s hard to list everyone! Off of the top of my head:

They are all wickedly good at what they do, and amazing people to boot.

What is your favourite content someone else has created for this fandom?

Incidentally, I love to collect stupid and/or silly mugs. @lydiabutz‘s bit of brilliance will always be one of my favorites!

Has the fandom affected your life in anyway?

This fandom led me to meeting some genuinely amazing friends, and I am forever thankful for such a gift. <3 <3 <3
