What’s behind the pi door? It was an honour to give a #FamilyFridays workshop at @MoMath1 #NewYork last week. I’ve been wanting to go ever since it opened. There’s a trove of mathematical amusements there. #museum #momath #nyc #newyork #pi #typography #signage #fixturesandfittings (at MoMath: the National Museum of Mathematics) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bqa0PHJA0ZL/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1v5hwtqhk4oqr
Families are always so fun to photograph, ok lets face it photographing anyone is fun for me 😂 When i'm photographing a family I do get those expected shots.....everyone looking at the camera and smiling, that perfect portrait. Once I've gotten that out of the way I just let them go and do what they do, have fun, be silly, be themselves and then I capture that, that's really what I love to do. . . This was a father/son family session and it was one I really enjoyed. Watching them just be and interact with each other was so fun. I love the images captured from this session. Here are just some of them. Enjoy! . . What kind of family photos do you prefer, posed and smiling at the camera or interactive and capturing the moments? . . . . #familyfridays #familyfriday #familyfun #familyfuntime #familyfuntimes #familyjoy #fathersmatter #fathersrights #fathersons #fathersonstime #familylove❤️ #familylove💕 #fatherandsongoals #fathersofinstagram #daddysboy #daddyduties #daddyandson #daddylife #daddylovesyou #lovedaddy #familyportrait #familylife #familyphotosession #familyphotoshoots #familyphoto #familyphotograph #familyphotographer #familyphotography #familysessions #fathersonphoto (at Nassau, Bahamas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDCkSXOBggv/?igshid=9htmoaht00dl
Loyal, compassionate, protective, uplifting, and dependable are just a few of the words I would use to describe my family! This quarantine has given all of US the opportunity to build stronger bonds. . . . . . #ThePersads #TeamPersad #ThePersadClan #Dad #Mom #B #Riri #Bentley #Halo #Harry #Lucky #animalhouse #quarantinedtogether #famalayyy #trulyblessed #highlyfavored #myfoundation #myearthlyblessings #livebeautifullytogether #FamilyFridays (at Valley Stream, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_XsJQCnel-tM2O5A77qbfMroA7VsWXwmZU2gg0/?igshid=6dsbltr302y3
We could all use a bit of #FridayFun this week, so I was tickled to come across this affectionate photograph from 1891 of Elenora Lammont Churchman (1876-1913) and Pierre S. du Pont (1870–1954) with Pierre’s aunt, Paulina du Pont (1827-1914), on the veranda of Goodstay, a du Pont family estate in Wilmington, Delaware purchased by Pierre’s grandmother, Margaretta Lammot du Pont (1807-1898), in 1868.
This photograph is part of Hagley Library’sP.S. du Pont photographs (Longwood) collection (Acc. 1969.002). To view more material from this collection, click here to visit its page in our Digital Archive.
wow they’re adorable. they’re mixed. they’re sisters. they’re twins. 👯♀️ #repost @natgeo ・・・ Photo @Hammond_Robin. I had the privilege of shooting the cover of this month’s special issue on Race. 11 year old twins Millie (right) and Marcia (left) are from Birmingham, United Kingdom. Their mother calls them her “rainbow twins.” “They’re my miracles” she says. Race is a made-up label used to define and separate us. In its special race issue, @NatGeo reports on the origins of scientific racism and how it has defined society as we know it. #IDefineMe. I’ll be sharing more images from the cover shoot and the feature I shot on genetics and race at @Hammond_Robin 💛💛 #flashbackfriday #familyfriday #mixedgirl https://www.instagram.com/p/B82LYdjloWa/?igshid=ngz42p7ns0me
Bonding and playing with family is important, and it can also help us cope with the stress and anxiety we may be feeling.
As my family and I are almost always on social media, I realized that I do not spend a lot of time bonding with them. There are also instances where my cousins and I are just using our phones during family gatherings. This activity made me realize the importance of spending time with my family. Playing games with my family members and sharing stories with them helped me relieve my stress and was a distraction for me to stop thinking about my problems and deadlines.
Family is really important. Family is not really about who you are related to by blood, but who is always there for you. Spending time with them, even by playing, promotes positive interactions which are known to reduce stress and keep us calm. It makes us feel happy and loved which is a really good way to improve our mental health.
If you’ve read the captions of my other videos, then you know how busy I was the past week! It’s been really hectic that I admit not being able to spend much time with my family. I also actually get kind of dizzy sometimes when I play COD, PUBG or ML. My family’s been playing this non stop though and it’s really nice that I was able to give them some of my time. I was (and actually still am) really happy for this and the fact that I know this made my brother happy too. With all the time I have given them this quarantine, I can really say I have improved my relationship with my family.
