I’m sorry, but why do we keep continuing to act as if Jason was out on the streets jacking tires because he felt like it?

Why frame this as Jason just being an angry kid doing angry kid things because he’s parentless (or powerless and lashing out or whatever) when he was stealing the tires off the batmobile so he could feed himself because he was disadvantaged - ie: homeless. He was fucking homeless - ?

I’m probably nitpicking, but I don’t give a shit. Also, the narrative that Bruce is who “made” Jason a good person “against all the odds” is such bullshit.

I’m going to be real. Arcane act 2 is going pretty shit. And I don’t have high hopes for the next and last act. I really believe it should have had 3 season because this whole second act feels like it should have been its own season.

Arcane whole show not tell thing has been thrown out the window too often to count. Or it has characters do things without explanation. Too much time with one character too little time with another. I do not know how they are going to wrap this up satisfyingly in three more episodes.

I’m still very invested in arcane even with its flaws. I am too attached to the characters story world and fandom to start to really dislike it over some writing flaws. But I am a little disappointed and worried going forward.

So anyways, Arthur is not either of the twins' parental figure, and to say so weakens a lot of themes with both the twins and Arthur, to me.

He gives Emizel too much free reign. Few good parents worry about their child this little, and few bad parents know that their child deserves this much autonomy.

He gives Shilo the grace of being seen as an equal despite his inexperience, very important for Shilo when he has never been anybody's equal.

Both of the twins are impacted by the way their respective parent treated them, which were styles of parenting that are widely socially acceptable regardless of the harm they cause, and it is important that Arthur doesn't treat them the same way.

Emizel has problems with authority because Jeffrey used that authority to treat him like an employee. He rejects the idea of Arthur having authority over him, so Arthur doesn't try to.

Shilo has been struggling his whole life with his mother seeing him as too fragile to make any decisions for himself or learn anything about the outside world. The very first thing Arthur does for Shilo directly is respect his decision to run away while giving him advice he may need due to his sheltered upbringing.

He still gives them guidance in a society they're unfamiliar with, but that alone does not make a parental figure. Guidance can come from any number of sources. Emizel and Shilo have more experience than him with some things anyways, like technology or social grace.

Even if one did want to adhere to a traditional family structure despite the twins both having suffered as a result of the power traditional family gave their parents over them, it's pointed out far more times in canon that Arthur sees them much more like his younger siblings. Grizzly even says so outright at times.

au where robb as grey wind gets free and, still thinking that jon is his only living sibling, goes north to meet him and jon proceeds to refuse to pick up a hint but in fairness robb is having to fight the fact that he now runs on wolf hardware and can easily derailed from proving that he has the capabilities of understanding human speech by jon waving a really good stick and then throwing it. 

jon is still in general having a bad time but the dramatic irony is he’s like i’m such a weakling, im so crazed by grief, sometimes i stupidly think grey wind is robb returned to me, not just symbolically, that grey wind is some sort of magic sign,

meanwhile robb is biting into his stupid baby brothers sleeve and trying to drag him bodily out the door of the nights watch so jon can respect his will and take up the crown of the king of the north.  jon is like okay this is some heavyhanded symbolism. going to lock you in the storage room now.  and robb howls all night in frustration and then chews up jons boots in revenge.

I thought the same thing if Luci turned out to be a bad father. Which, he isn't great, but he's clearly trying his best. Also, he's goofy as hell, which is so rare to see for The Devil.
