Paxton accuses Texas doctor of providing gender-affirming care in violation of state law

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) on Thursday sued a doctor in Dallas, accusing her of providing gender-affirming care to nearly two dozen minors in violation of the state’s law. 

Paxton accuses May Chi Lau of “blatantly violating Texas law” by providing hormone-replacement therapy to 21 minors in the period between last October and this August. 

His office said in a statement outlining the lawsuit that the doctor “allegedly used false diagnoses and billing codes to mask these unlawful prescriptions.” 

“Texas passed a law to protect children from these dangerous unscientific medical interventions that have irreversible and damaging effects,” Paxton said in a statement. “Doctors who continue to provide these harmful ‘gender transition’ drugs and treatments will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

Texas’s Supreme Court upheld in an 8-1 ruling the state’s ban on gender-affirming care for minors in late June this year. 

Lau specializes in adolescent medicine. She is an associate professor in the department of pediatrics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. 

The lawsuit was filed in Collin County district court. 

The Hill has reached out to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for comment.

State bans on gender-affirming care are set to come before the Supreme Court this session after the Biden administration challenged a similar measure passed in Tennessee.

“The laws are inflicting profound harms on transgender adolescents and their families by denying medical treatments that the affected adolescents, their parents, their doctors, and medical experts have all concluded are appropriate and necessary to treat a serious medical condition,” the Department of Justice wrote in court filings.

How did you and B meet?

I'm sure I've talked about this before, but here's the Official Story from our reception invitations:

Erica met B through their mutual friend G while rock climbing at the Austin greenbelt in April of 2019.

Erica had just purchased a new camera and 80% of the photos she took that day were of B. She shyly sent B the best ones and noted he was a lovely subject. B said, “thanks bro” and used those pictures for his Bumble profile.

It was an auspicious beginning.

At the time, B was living and working in Austin while Erica was a PhD student in Dallas. She often visited “home” to see her parents and climb, so they met up regularly over the next two years.

When the pandemic hit, Erica moved back to Austin to work on her dissertation, and isolated with a small group of climbers that included B. They also started playing D&D together.

Erica’s character was a chaotic neutral half-elf bard who cast spells and cantrips exclusively via limerick. Her go-to solutions to problems they encountered were seduction, inciting political rebellion, befriending monsters, and stabbing.

B played a lawful good half-elf paladin who found Erica’s character extremely vexing.

In real life, however, they had quite a bit in common, and started spending time alone outside of group climbing and D&D meetups. Later, they would discover they had a mutual romantic interest at this point, but neither acted on it since Erica had accepted a visiting professorship in Colorado. She moved in July.

When Erica returned briefly to Austin over spring break the following year, she spent most of her time with B: climbing, hiking, grilling at her parent’s place, and staunchly denying there was anything happening between them even if she wished there was because honestly, mom, he's never shown the slightest bit of interest in me (her father scoffed loudly from the other room).

She decided to move back to Austin at the end of the school year. When B (and G) came to visit her a few weeks before she moved, Erica decided to be brave and make her intentions known. While watching a UFC fight with B on the couch, she tucked her toes, lasciviously, under B’s thigh.

Shockingly, he did not respond to this unequivocal romantic overture. But he did help her remove all the temporary wallpaper on her ugly rental cabinets before they left, so that was nice.

The following month, when Erica moved back to Austin, B asked if she’d like to come over for dinner after climbing. She agreed because she wanted to procrastinate unpacking and also she was slightly in love with him. The following day, he asked if she wanted to have dinner again. She did.

“Wow,” Erica said to her mother that morning, “I guess B is really lonely since G moved. He’s been asking me to hang out with him a lot.”

“You're an idiot,” her mother said.

That night, B asked Erica if she'd ever thought about them dating.

“I’m thinking about it now,” she said, cavalier, suave, blasé, and not nervous at all.

This wasn’t a lie, but she had also thought about it once or twice prior to that moment as well.

“Great,” B said, “How would you feel if I kissed you?”

And Erica said, “Yeah, I’d feel pretty good about that.”

A few weeks later, B casually showed Erica an empty shelf in his bathroom cabinet and an inviting space in his closet and a couple spare drawers in his dresser and she, equally casually, moved in with him.

Over the next year, the apartment’s decor and Erica’s diet improved drastically. They traveled, they climbed, they spent time with each others families. They lived, laughed, loved and reduced, reused, recycled. Shortly after moving into their new house, combining bank accounts, making each other their medical powers of attorney, solidifying their retirement plans, and discussing whether getting married would have tax benefits, they realized most people got engaged before doing…a good portion of those things. So they planned to propose to each other.

Christmas of 2022, they took a road trip across Colorado. B proposed to Erica on the gondola in Telluride; two days later, Erica proposed to B on the Train to Cascade Canyon in Durango. They both said yes.

In August 2023 they will elope, with their dog Deacon as a witness, to Mt. Rainier national park.

In November 2023, they’ll celebrate with their friends and family at a backyard reception that will include food, drinks, swimming, croquet, corn hole, axe-throwing and a bounce house (the axe-throwing and the bounce-house will be on opposite sides of the lawn; if it's cold, the pool will be heated). They hope you’ll come and share their joy with them.

As a kid, I watched this for the gun fights. Now I watch it for James Arness, Ken Curtis, Amanda Blake and Milburn Stone.

An amiable, inquisitive Chicago priest moonlights as a detective and is assisted by a rather worldly, lock-picking nun.

Tom Bosley as a priest. Yeah… I'm watching this.

5. Matlock (TV Series 1986–1995)

Ben Matlock is a very expensive criminal defense attorney, who charges one hundred thousand dollars to take a case. Fortunately, he's worth every penny, as he and his associates defend his clients by finding the real killer.

Love to watch Andy Griffith's progression from the beginning of the series from a tall, gray haired man to a short, silver haired chub. I kid you not, by the end of the series, he looked shorter and definitely fatter.

4. Bonanza (TV Series 1959–1973)

The Wild West adventures of Ben Cartwright and his sons as they run and defend their Nevada ranch while helping the surrounding community.

Surprisingly, I watch this as a kid for my strange attraction to Lorne Greene (figured out why later on). It's only recently I watch it for Dan Blocker.

3. Blue Bloods (TV Series 2010–2024)

Blue Bloods follows the lives of the NYPD's First Family of Law Enforcement: the Reagans.

Sure, Tom Selleck is nice, but I keep watching for Len Cariou at Sunday dinner each week.

This is the show that got me lusting after Carroll O'Connor.

I love watching the show for show regulars William Windom, Tom Bosley, Ron Masak to the many, many guest stars. Plus I had a childhood crush on Angela Lansbury.

The Strange Disappearance and Death of David Glenn Lewis

David Glenn Lewis was born on December 11th, 1953, in Borger, Texas. David married a woman named Karen Garret in 1982 and the couple had their only child together—a daughter named Lauren—a year later.

On Thursday, January 28th, 1993, David left work at the Buckner, Lara & Swindell law practice, stating that he wasn’t feeling well. However, his credit card revealed a charge made at a gas station later that afternoon. David also reportedly taught his class that night, which ended at 10 p.m.

The following day, Karen and Lauren left to spend the weekend shopping in Dallas. Although they didn’t see David before leaving, they didn’t find that especially concerning. They already knew he wanted to stay home that weekend, because his favorite football team—the Dallas Cowboys—would be playing in the Super Bowl and David was eager to watch the game.

It was during this weekend that David’s behavior took a turn for the strange. First, he was spotted by a friend from church frantically rushing through a Southwest Airlines terminal. David didn’t appear to have any luggage with him.

On Sunday, David’s red Ford Explorer was seen parked outside of the Potter County courthouse and a deputy sheriff witnessed a man matching David’s description photographing the vehicle. David returned home at some point, evidently, because the neighbors reported seeing his vehicle parked in the driveway that weekend.

However, when Karen and Lauren arrived home on Sunday, they found David’s wedding ring and watch on the counter and a load of laundry in the dryer. The lights and television were on and the VCR was still recording the football game. There were also two turkey sandwiches in the refrigerator, presumably prepared by David. The thing that was notably absent from the home, however, was David himself.

Nevertheless, Karen assumed that he had simply gone to watch the game at a friend’s house and that he’d be back soon. But when she learned the following day that David had missed two appointments—very out of character for him—she became worried and notified the police that he was missing.

Early in the investigation into David Glenn Lewis’s disappearance, police learned that someone using his name had purchased two plane tickets before he went missing. The first ticket was bought on January 31st and was from Dallas to Amarillo. The second ticket was purchased the next day and this one would take him from Los Angeles to Dallas. No one could explain what might have compelled David to buy these tickets, and since U.S. airports didn’t require a person to show their ID before boarding a plane in 1993, it couldn’t be verified that he was really the person who purchased the tickets.

Another unexplained detail that came out during the investigation was that $5,000 had been deposited into the Lewis family's bank account on January 30th. Unfortunately, it couldn't be determined who made the deposit. David’s Ford Explorer was soon discovered parked by the courthouse. His keys were under the floor mat and his driver’s license, credit cards, and checkbook were all found inside as well.

Later, a cab driver came forward to say that he had picked up a man strongly resembling David on February 1st and drove him to the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The man in question appeared nervous and paid in cash from a wad of hundred-dollar bills he had with him. There were no further sightings of David reported in the Amarillo area after this.

David’s family didn’t believe that he had left voluntarily; they believed he was abducted. Karen said that he had received death threats in the past while working as a judge and that he’d begun to receive death threats once again just before he vanished.

At the time he went missing, David had been a defendant in a conflict-of-interest lawsuit that had been brought against him and several other attorneys, as well as a former client.

Ultimately, the authorities believed that David left Amarillo of his own free will and couldn’t find any evidence of foul play. They eventually closed his case in 2002.

However, on the night of February 1st, 1993, motorists witnessed a man walking down the middle of State Route 24 in Moxee, Washington, east of Yakima. The man was wearing military fatigues and boots. He didn’t appear to have anything else with him. A concerned driver turned around and attempted to warn the other motorists that someone was walking on the road. Sadly, they were too late to help this man, because, by the time they got back, he was lying dead by the side of the road, the victim of an apparent hit-and-run accident. The autopsy report concluded that he had died of injuries consistent with having been struck by a vehicle. Additionally, there were no drugs or alcohol in his system. The deceased, who had no ID, would be classified as a “John Doe” and remained unidentified for 11 years.

Washington State Patrol detective in Yakima, Washington, Pat Ditter, read the series of reports and started to look into a number of local missing persons cases, as well as John and Jane Doe cases, hoping to solve at least some of them. He noted that David looked very much like the John Doe in question, but a notable difference was that David wore glasses and the John Doe hadn’t been wearing any when he was found.

However, they still had the clothing he’d been wearing at the time of the accident and Ditter discovered a pair of glasses in one of the pockets. These glasses looked identical to the distinctive pair that David himself wore. Ditter was now convinced that they were the same person. A DNA test in 2004 would confirm that he was correct: the Moxee John Doe was in fact, David Glenn Lewis.

But how and why did he end up over 1,600 miles away from his home in Amarillo, Texas? Why was David, said to have very poor eyesight, not wearing his glasses that night? Why was he walking down the middle of a road at all? Many aspects of this case remain a mystery.

It’s also unclear why he was wearing military fatigues, as Karen was adamant that he didn’t own anything like that.

The other was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and helped his daddy in the family business: Housing discrimination,” Crockett said to boisterous laughter. “She became a career prosecutor, while he became a career criminal, with 34 felonies, two impeachments, and one porn star to prove it.” “Kamala Harris has a résumé. Donald Trump has a rap sheet,” Crockett said. “She presides over the Senate, while he keeps national secrets next to his thinking chair — y’all know what I said the other time — in Mar-A-Lago.” Crockett was the first Texan in Congress to speak on the DNC main stage. Her presence on the convention program punctuated her exceptional political rise. She is a freshman member of the U.S. House, running for Congress after serving only one term in the Texas House. She has broken out as a viral messenger on Democratic priorities, often clashing with Republicans in public committee hearings.

Crockett’s acumen as a party messenger showed early signs as a state representative, when she was an architect of a 2021 state House Democratic quorum break to stall the passage of Republican-led voting legislation. Before elected office, Crockett was a public defense attorney practicing civil rights law. She alluded to her past as a public defender, saying Harris was “the kind of prosecutor we longed for.” She brought up Harris’ mandate for police officers to wear body cameras and efforts to reduce criminal recidivism. Crockett also opened up about Harris caring for her when she was early in her time in Congress. She said Harris consoled her during their first meeting at the Vice President’s residence shortly after Crockett was elected to Congress. “When I first got to Congress, I wasn't sure I made the right decision,” Crockett said. “That chaos caucus couldn’t elect a speaker and the Oversight Committee was unhinged.”

“She saw right through me. She saw the distress. I immediately began crying,” Crockett continued, holding back tears. “And the most powerful woman in the world wiped my tears and listened. She then said, among other things, ‘You are exactly where God wants you.’ ” Crockett went on: “The next month, I went viral for the first of many times to come.” Crockett made a quiet allusion to one of her most famous viral moments where she pushed back at U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Georgia, for mocking her appearance during a committee hearing. During that meeting, Crockett indirectly said Greene had a “bleach blonde, bad built, butch body.” “The question before us is, will a vindictive, vile villain violate voters’ vision for a better American or not?” Crockett said, giving a knowing smile as the crowd burst into laughter. “I hear alliteration is back in style.”

Attorney Ulysses Simpson Tate (January 26, 1900 - December 12, 1968) attorney and civil rights leader, was born in Good Springs, Alabama to James Washington and Mary B. Tate. The youngest of five children, he received his BA and MA from Lincoln University. He graduated from Howard University Law School. He married Jennie E. Tate.

He and his family moved to Dallas after he became the attorney for the Southwest Region of the NAACP. He began filing lawsuits and implementing the NAACP strategy for desegregating schools. He filed a suit against the public school district in Fort Smith, Arkansas, alleging that the Black high school was old and unsafe. He noted the omission of certain subjects at the African American school.

This lawsuit served as a model for subsequent legal challenges in Arkansas. Winning cases to improve conditions in high schools throughout the Southwest region, He employed the NAACP strategy to desegregate college and university-level Jim Crow practices. In 1950, he was one of the attorneys who filed a case against Louisiana State University Law School, which refused to admit Roy S. Wilson because of his race. He encouraged more African Americans to enroll in college and worked on opening more schools so that, by September of 1954, there were 11 Texas junior colleges opened to African Americans. He filed against several institutions, including the University of North Texas College, Lamar College, Midwestern University, and the University of Texas, El Paso.

He worked on other cases as well, including a 1951 challenge to voting discrimination in Harrison County, Texas, and another case against the Missouri Pacific Railroad on behalf of the Michigan delegation to the National Beauty Culturist League convention in Houston. This delegation bought tickets, boarded the train in Detroit, and rode south without any incident until they reached Texas where they were asked to move to the Jim Crow car, and were threatened when they didn’t move quickly. Bruce was an exemplary employee who was the current, reining employee of the year before his abrupt termination, which resulted from the unrelenting, horrifying, insidious, deceitful, and heinous actions of his many treating doctors, the cruelty he endured from his employer following his work-related accidents, and the extent of his numerous life-altering, bodily injuries.

#FBI: Bruce was involved in TWO work-related, traffic accidents--while functioning within the scope of employment--and operating NTTA's company trucks that occurred approximately one week apart [he was not the at-fault-driver of either accident]. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, ONE OF THOSE ACCIDENTS OCCURRED WHILE HE WAS UTILIZING THE COMPANY'S VEHICLE TO PROVIDE "POSITIVE PROTECTION" FOR TWO DEFENSELESS CARROLLTON, TEXAS POLICE OFFICERS WHO WERE STANDING, EXPOSED IN HARM'S WAY ON THE NTTA'S DANGEROUS TOLLWAY. However, when Dallas Fire & Rescue responded to the accidents, they negligently failed to transport him to a hospital to ascertain if he had incurred any unforeseen internal injuries--and he had many. Furthermore, as experienced EMT professionals, they should have expected that he had incurred internal injuries due to the extent of damage sustained to both NTTA's trucks, which were totaled beyond repair.

#FBI: As a direct result of the massive amount of kinetic and brutal momentum force that resulted from both accidents, Bruce sustained the following injuries; Blunt Chest Trauma, Serious Head Trauma, Serious Neck Trauma, Partial Bilateral Collapse Of Both Lungs, (3) Stomach Herniations, Lesions On The Liver, (8) Severely Herniated Discs In His Cervical and Lumbar Regions, Clot In Pulmonary Arteries, and a Displaced/Fractured Rib. Bruce's primary worker's compensation doctor sent him to receive treatment at Medical City Dallas Hospital STAT [and medical documents will support this assertion]; however, the medical personnel ordered a full CT lab report that revealed the serious medical implications of the above-listed injuries, but the ONLY injury that was documented by hospital's treating doctor's assistant was...a fractured rib. UNBELIEVABLE...but sadly, this is the brutal reality of how many black people are treated when it's ALL about the 💵benjamins💵.

NTTA's insurance provider, Texas Municipal League Risk Pool [Workers Compensation], evidently considered Bruce to be so undeserving to receive proper medical treatment, until they refused to pay the $2,091.00 bill for medical services rendered during his visit at the Medical City Dallas hospital. And, they [or some other co-conspirator] falsely submitted the bill to Bruce's insurance provider, UnitedHealthcare, to pay the bill, but evidently, they refused to participate in the act of approving the fraudulent claim. As a result, this bill went into collections.

In the face of Bruce's atrocities, I'm making an impassioned plea to everyone to kindly be a blessing to Bruce while he continues his perilous plight at navigating through this horrifying maze of unrelenting corruption, racial biases, physical and emotional distress, impending surgeries, loss of his career, loss of income, loss of health insurance, loss of pension, and loss of quality of life. #FBI: To cut to the chase, as a direct result of the anticipated exorbitant financial implications of those accidents, many horrific crimes have been committed, including the attempted murder of Bruce. An unrelenting, highly-organized, criminal conspiracy was executed to mitigate their gross negligence and to minimize the extent of their financial responsibility of Bruce's extremely expensive injuries [which has already amassed more than $250K, with multiple injuries left untreated].

This conspiracy was established when a large group of people--acting as known and unknown agents of their employers--collectively joined together to form an agreement to violate the law, by engaging in many overt criminal acts toward the furtherance of the said conspiracy.

Therefore, I'm publicly alleging that approximately TEN Dallas, Texas doctors did knowingly, intentionally, maliciously, and recklessly falsify most of Bruce's medical records for profit; I'm alleging that several Dallas, Texas police officers did knowingly, intentionally, maliciously, and recklessly falsify Bruce's accident reports for profit; I alleging that several attorneys assigned to Bruce's case did knowingly, intentionally, maliciously, and recklessly fail to zealously protect and pursue his legal interests for profit; and, I'm also alleging that many other medical professionals did knowingly, intentionally, maliciously, and recklessly deprived Bruce of the required proper medical treatment for profit [mind you, both Workers' Compensation and UnitedHealthcare insurance companies were ALLEGEDLY at play in this matter, and yet, the outcome has been unfathomable]. However, their nefarious plot was discovered by Bruce's wife, which lead to a legion of individuals engaging in many overt acts of organized crime against her and her seriously injured husband. Also, pertinent information relevant to this matter is being sent to some of you via other means.

The Pinkerton Rule Of Law: "Co-conspirators, do YOU realize that when YOU became an active participant in the criminality of this conspiracy, YOU are as guilty as the person who committed fraud, attempted murder and all other serious crimes? ALL members involved in the conspiracy can be convicted of substantive crimes, even if YOU did not personally commit the crime, and a conspiracy charge relieves the prosecution of the burden of even having to prove your role in the said conspiracy.

Latachie “The Invisible Girl” Veal, 17 (USA 1991)

Houston teenager Latachie Veal was 20–22 weeks pregnant when she suffered a painful death at the hands of the West Loop abortion facility staff.

Latachie was already bleeding badly at the abortion facility and crying out for help. The staff dismissed her bleeding and excruciating pain as “normal” and sent her home. Hours later, Latachie stopped breathing. Her terrified sister administered CPR while a brother-in-law called 911, but Latachie was dead on arrival at Ben Taub Hospital. She was only 17.

Her furious and heartbroken family sued Robert Crist, the abortionist who killed Latachie and her baby. He had already been the subject of a lawsuit over the abortion death of 19-year-old Diane Boyd, a disabled victim of forced abortion. Crist was also sued for the case of an abortion client who delivered her baby’s mutilated corpse in a bathroom two days after the abortion. And just a few weeks before killing Latachie, another teenage girl had been hospitalized for abortion injuries inflicted by West Loop. Crist should never have been allowed to keep his license long enough to kill Latachie.

Crist appeared on TV calling the case “media hype” and a “political event”. The Veal family’s attorney responded, "I wish he would have a copy of the 911 tape.... If he would talk to the parents, if he would talk to the sister as she gave her CPR or talk to the brother-in-law as she was breathing her last breath and see then if he thinks it's a media event."

To add insult to lethal injury, Latachie’s death was excluded from CDC data on deaths from legal abortion. Even though her case went public and was documented in newspapers and court records, the voluntary-only reporting system for abortion deaths clearly was not enough for the CDC to notice. Data sets from the CDC on deaths from legal abortion counted NO abortion fatalities in Black girls aged 15–19 in 1991. This exclusion has earned Latachie the nickname “Invisible Girl” among some researchers because apparently nobody at the CDC noticed her death.

This is even more astounding when you take into account the speech Crist made at the 1992 National Abortion Federation Seminar in Dallas. He openly spoke about Latachie’s death and tried to convince his audience that the death was not his fault. (He did not, of course, mention her name, but researchers were unable to find any another 17-year-old abortion client of his who he killed in 1991.) TWO staffers from the Centers for Disease Control's abortion surveillance activities area attended, including the person whose job it was to verify abortion deaths. Yet Latachie still went uncounted.

In spite of all the publicity, in spite of the lawsuit, in spite of the shouting from the rooftops, in spite of the abortionist discussing her death at an event attended by the very woman whose job it was to notice abortion deaths, the Centers for Disease Control failed to notice Latachie. Their 1991 Abortion Surveillance Report, published in May of 1995, did not even mention of abortion mortality and requests for information had to be filed to even see the statistics, which still did not include Latachie. If the CDC failed to notice Latachie’s highly-publicized death even after it was discussed openly at an event attended by two of their abortion surveillance staffers, what would it take to get them to notice and count legal abortion deaths?

Two months after Latachie was killed, another 17-year-old girl had to be hospitalized for abortion injuries inflicted at the West Loop facility. Both young girls deserved better than abortion.

The trial for a North Texas influencer accused of deceptive business practices is scheduled to begin next month.

Social media personality Brittany Dawn Davis faces a lawsuit from Texas over a fitness plan scheme that state officials say violated consumer protection laws and misled followers with eating disorders.

Davis’ trial in Dallas County, scheduled to begin March 6, could offer a glimpse into the sometimes lucrative world of social media influencing.

The lawsuit centers around Davis’ business, Brittany Dawn Fitness, which billed itself a personalized health and fitness coaching service.

Beginning in 2014, Davis sold online fitness packages for $92 to $300 to thousands of customers, according to the lawsuit. But the plans were not individualized, and Davis did not provide coaching and check-ins as promised, the state alleges.

On social media, Davis positioned herself as having overcome eating disorders with nutrition and exercise, the lawsuit says, leading clients to believe she was trained to address such conditions.

Neither Davis nor her attorney, Calvin McLean, responded to requests for comment.

A former customer, who at one point weighed less than 80 pounds, was quoted in the lawsuit saying she chose Davis because she had advertised herself as an “eating disorder soldier.” Another said she nearly passed out from inadequate nutrition.

One woman reached out to Davis pleading for help. “I truly need guidance, help, the right information and support right now currently have an eating disorder, horrible body image views am underweight for my height.”

Davis replied, “Great! Welcome to the #teambrittanydawn family.”

In some cases, Davis provided weight-loss plans to clients needing to gain weight, according to the lawsuit.

Davis denies accepting customers with eating disorders, the lawsuit says, but at least 14 customers who sought refunds mentioned eating disorders in their complaints.

The Texas attorney general’s office began receiving complaints in 2019 as customers sought refunds, often unsuccessfully.

Davis apologized on Good Morning America that year and took down her fitness website bdawnfit.com. The website is now active, although the shop is shut down.

Since then, Davis has shifted her focus on social media platforms from fitness to faith, often posting inspirational and Christian content. She has retained a large following, including 473,000 followers on Instagram and 1.2 million on TikTok.

In 2021, she started hosting She Lives Freed spiritual retreats in several cities, charging $125 for a one-day event in Fort Worth. And in 2022, she chronicled her experience as a new foster parent with her husband.

Davis also moved from Dallas to Fort Worth, explaining in social media videos that Dallas was too materialistic and she wanted to be closer to family.

Court records show both Davis’ attorney and the attorney general’s office asked to postpone the trial, but the judge denied the request, saying the parties had failed to mediate on their own.

Texas is seeking between $250,000 and $1 million in penalties and court fees.
