magnus (does the bare minimum unless we're talking about his snake plant, Asmodeus, who he's kept thriving since he was 17)

toki (would forget to water the garden....he would also somehow manage to kill a false rose of jericho (aka a plant that you literally cant kill unless u set it on fire))

The False rose of Jericho, or resurrection fern is a member of the spike moss family. During dry weather its stems curl into a tight ball and the plant enters a period of dormancy.

The rose of Jericho symbolises resurrection, rebirth, enduring love, and longevity.

In many of these traditions, Rose of Jericho is said to call in wealth, provide protection, bring good luck, and absorb negative energy. It’s sometimes used in spells to “resurrect” an aspect of a person’s life such as romance or income. 

Around the world, many families cherish their Rose of Jericho plant and pass it down through generations.

Hi plant nerd anon from earlier! I handed off a couple of my plants to a friend because I just didn’t really vibe with them and I couldn’t just throw them away or let them die, and now I have space for a Sarracenia pitcher plant! Sarracenia differs from the family Nepenthes in just how the pitchers form: in Sarracenia, the entire leaf evolved to be the pitfall trap and it has generally larger cups that grow upwards from a rhizome; in Nepenthes, only the tendril (the structure that coils up and anchors grapes and beans to other objects) at the end of every leaf develops into a pitcher, and they grow upwards with a standard stem rather than a rhizome and have a more droopy kind of growth! They’re my fave carnivorous plants!!

I’ve also been collecting various native plants to turn into a costume for next year, it’ll be a sort of “woodland knight” kind of thing with scale mail made from seed pods from annual honesty plants (also called silver dollar plants!) and maybe magnolia leaves, but the cloak I have planned is going to be made up of dried flowers and fungi from throughout the entire year. It’s gonna be quite the undertaking, but it’s something I’m passionate about because I’m huge on conservation and education on native species of plants and fungi.

In addition I’ve also just watered my “baby toes” plant and she’s happy now that I’m watering her correctly, by taking her pot and putting it in a shallow dish of water to soak up until she’s had her fill. One of my favorite plants but she almost dried up, quite a scare!

I also need to put sand in with my false rose of Jericho, he’s been fine but I think some substrate to hold some water would be good for him.

Also processing some black walnuts I foraged about a month and a half ago, I’m aiming to make some spicy walnut fudge over the winter!

A Curse for True Love

A note: Apologies for the sudden onslaught of Evajacks posts. This is what happens when you discover a series so late in the game.

After waiting for it for 2 1/2 weeks, I finally got to read A Curse for True Love. I have to spill all the feels I am feeling over this series, because they are many.

While not as good as BONA, there is still some really good material. This love story is one of the best that you can get from books that resemble fairytales. There is something so profound about it, and deep. I mean, you have the fact that you get both Evangeline and Jacks being victims of curses and danger. It was a true fight for true love. It reminded of some of my favorite fictional couples.

For the cursed angle, it was giving Captain Swan (but done better...yeah, I said it), as well as Snowing. With Jacks pushing Evangeline away to keep her safe from him, it was very similar to Dimitri pushing Rose away in Spirit Bound and Last Sacrifice, which I love. Let me add, Jacks watching Evangeline and longing from afar was reminiscent of Peter watching Mary Jane after being rescued in SM2, and the ending scene of the CW BatB pilot. I need more literature like that.

I just love the simplicity of this series. It's so straightforward; nothing convoluted like you see in certain romantasies. And I believe I saw a booktuber (at least I think it was this series) say that the stakes are more realistic and higher**, which I have to agree with. You have the FMC trying to find a second love she can be happy with, seemingly finds it, then becomes enamored with the MMC. She knows that he is unable to be with her, but is determined to find a way to be with him. With the MMC, he's wanted love, thought he found it, but she backstabbed him. Now he's bitter, and does nefarious things. However, he slowly falls for the FMC unexpectedly, but doesn't want to hurt her, thus pushing her away. It all changes when she is killed, and he goes back in time to fix it because of how much he loves her. But it all goes wrong when the FMC's false love takes her memories. Fast forward to MMC trying to thwart the husband, or any way FMC may be endangered, trying to protect her so she can live. However, he is going to make sure he doesn't try to interact with her too much, and makes plans to disappear from her life forever. It hurts him immensely, but, like before, feels he has to. She regains her memories, discovers his plans, and she has a race against time before he destroys the thing that allows him to love. There is lots of begging, confessions, pushing/pulling, and the like. She makes a move and BAM! Curse lifted. Only, after all of that, the false love kidnaps her and MMC has to still fight to be with her. Totally no big deal, right? LOL.

What I liked about the curse breaking is that they both had to believe in their love. At first I was confused as to why the cuff hurt him when Jacks tried to kiss Evangeline, but it's because that his second heart isn't in close proximity, so, he wasn't in his right mind. He probably didn't think she loved him the way he loved her. Subconsciously he likely did, yet it wasn't until she said those words and risked her life to physically show him.

Anyway, my whole point is this: Evajacks has now topped Feysand within my top 3 book OTPs in terms of overcoming odds and development. Seriously, the guy was going to destroy his ability to feel because he couldn't bear losing her again...at his hand. That is real sacrifice. What Rhysand did pales in comparison.

This product contains 50 ml (1.69 oz) and is fragrance-free.

This sunscreen has a very lightweight, hydrating lotion texture and is tinted green.

It blends out very easily and feels like nothing.

It leaves skin very smooth and not tacky or sticky as it dries down, which it does very quickly.

There is no flashback, it's very invisible and you can't detect any white residue on the skin.

It also wears very well and layers well, I was out in the sun for most of the day and did reapply every few hours or so.

It also wears very well under makeup, no pilling up or shifting of the makeup.

Recommended use is to take an appropriate amount and apply it evenly onto the skin. It's designed for sensitive skin, non-comedogenic, oxybenzone-free, octinoxate-free and fragrance-free. After using, this sunscreen is really impressive. The packaging is great in that the applicator is very controlled and keeps it from distributing too much product. The sunscreen itself is very gentle, soothing, hydrating and lightweight. It doesn't pill or bunch up or leave any kind of white cast. It's a great moisturizer on its own but it layers over other skincare very well. The ingredients are very sensitive skin friendly and there are no irritants, or fragrances (artificial or otherwise) and it has strong and effective UV filters. It's also very safe around the eyelids and eyes, I didn't notice any irritation in that area or any kind of tingling. The protection is long-lasting and it keeps your skin even toned, even after being out in the sun for a while. Some aspects are water resistant but this product is not marketed as such so this wouldn't be safe against sweat either. I'd recommend this to anyone, especially to people who need a gentle formula.

What I like: this sunscreen is so hydrating and plays well with other products. It doesn't pill or bunch up or leave a white cast and there's no fragrance. It's got great ingredients minus any irritants and it's very hydrating and makes a great moisturizer on its own. It's also safe around the eyes and doesn't cause any irritation. What I don't like: honestly, nothing, it's a great product.

"Look at this. Lucas gave me information his father was looking up before he was murdered. He was investigating Laurel Gates. He started after Outreach Day. According to British police Laurel was presumed drowned, but no body was recovered. And the Gates mansion was purchased a year ago by a 90 year old candy heiress. She mysteriously died and gave all her belongings to her caregiver, Teresa L. Glad." Wednesday walks into my room as I was on the computer.

"Anagram for Laurel Gates. So she secretly bought her old house and comes back to Jericho as someone else. Why? To get revenge on all the people she blames for her family's misfortune?" I turn to face her.

"The Mayor, the coroner, our parents. Most of all Nevermore. The Hyde is doing all of her bidding since she controls it." Wednesday smiles, "Now we just get Dr. Kinbott to confess she's Laurel Gates."

"We? What do even you have to say it's her?"

"The flowers in her room at the mansion are the exact same flowers she took when visiting Eugene in the hospital. I mean it's so easy for a psychiatrist to slip in and out of a hospital undetected. Why would someone so overqualified want to be here? To crawl through outcasts minds till she found one to manipulate for her revenge." Wednesday goes on a rant explaining her reason.

"Wednesday, that's not evidence. Nothing really pinpoints Dr. Kinbott." I stand up from my desk.

"You want to know why you've changed? It's all because of her. She got into your mind." Wednesday steps closer to me making me roll my eyes.

"You sound ridiculous, Wednesday."

"Explain to me why you randomly changed then when you didn't want to?" She raises her voice.

I just stare at her like she lost her mind, "I didn't not want to, I was just confused to new things." I try explaining to her.

"No, you changed when you started your session with her."

"Have you ever thought that maybe I just wanted to change deep down and I did because I felt comfortable for once to open up to show that I keep locked away deep down? Enid and especially Tyler know parts of me that not you, Pugsley or even our parents don't know about." I step closer to her.

"You really are a disappointment. Kinbott got to your head and made you this way and made you not see the truth about her or Xavier."

I just stare at her shaking my head, "You're jumping to conclusions with no sold proof to back up you stupid theories. Hopefully you feel stupid when you turn out to be wrong with you accusations." I shoulder check her leaving my room.

I wish I knew who the real Laurel Gates was and who the monster was just to make Wednesday feel stupid for being so wrong. I mean yes, Wednesday had a theory compared to me but flowers aren't enough evidence. Then for Xavier having secret sessions with Kinbott wasn't odd, especially if you didn't want anyone to know you were seeing someone to talk about your life and problems.

"Thought you were ignoring me?" Xavier's video brings me out of my thoughts and I notice I walked all the way to his shed.

"Wednesday has officially lost it. She believes Kinbott is Laurel Gates who unlocked you, the Hyde, during your secret sessions." I take a seat on a stool.

"And her evidence?" He turns to face me crossing his arms.

"Kinbott brought Eugene the same roses that we found at the Gates mansion in Laurel's childhood bedroom. You're the monster because you paint it without ever seeing it and you show up after things or always around before something happens. But if she uses that logic then Tyler is in the same boat with you there in being around. I just can't wait till she's proven wrong. And she thinks I'm different now because Kinbott has got to my head as well making me not see the truth about her or you."

"That's just theories with no sold proof to back her up." Xavier walks over to me.

"I know, and I told her that. I know you aren't the monster and there's no way Kinbott is Laurel. I have no clue who the real people are and I wish I knew to make Wednesday feel stupid. I feel like I would already know or seen some hint because I've had some physical contact with everyone I talk to. I just want this to be over with. I don't want you, my friend, or the first therapist I like and trust to be falsely accused of murdering people."

"You're right, I may have not believed in you since day one but you've believed in me since day one. You're way more of a true friend than me." He sits on the stool next to me.

"If what Rowan told Wednesday is going to happen... if she never came and it was just me would all this still go down like it is? It would have to be because the murders started before she showed up. So if I never came as well..." I look at him.

"I wish I had answered for you." He looks at me as well.

"Oh, I hate you Nevermore." We both laugh.

"So Enid slipped... How was your second date with Tyler?" Xavier changes the topic messing with his hands.

"Good, but Wednesday was there. He decorated the crypt for a picnic and a movie. He asked do I like scary movies and I got excited but I got slightly tortured watching Legally Blonde. So that literally was a horror movie to me but I hated to admit I secretly liked it deep down."

"Enid got you used to the color pink?" He chuckles so I nod my head, "As much as I hate Tyler... I happy he makes you happy. You're my friend after all and I care about your happiness. And I mean it. I promise from now on I will stop with my sassy marks about him. I still hate him but I'll keep it locked away around you."

I lean over giving him a hug, "That means a lot to me. Really, Xavier."

"You're actually hugging me?"

"This is your one chance to hug me back because I don't give out free hugs." I tell him so he hugs me back.

I headed into town to check on Kinbott because I'm sure by now Wednesday has already been by accusing her being Laurel Gates.

"Dr. Kinbott." I knock on her door not getting an answer. "I'm not here to accuse you like Wednesday did. I'm here to check up on you." I wait for a response and still get nothing so I go in to see her laying in a pool of blood. "Dr. Kinbott." I rush over to see her struggling to breath.

"Val." She coughs up blood.

"No, no, no. Don't talk, just keep breathing." I tell putting a hand over her wound to stop the bleeding as I pull out my phone with my other hand calling for help.

"He..." She tries speaking.

"He? He who? No, don't try talking. Just hold on then you can tell Sheriff Galpin who did this to you." I say seeing she wasn't going to make of help doesn't get her faster. "This is a small town! Why are they taking so long!"

"You...him." She closes her eyes as help rushes in though the door.

They take her to the hospital and Sheriff Galpin takes me to a room to question me, "You didn't have a session today so why did you go see Dr. Kinbott?" He asks me as I sit looking at my recently washed hands.

"Wednesday went to go see her accusing her of being Laurel Gates. She thought she was the master of the Hyde. Her stupid evidence was roses we found at the Gates mansion because she brought Eugene the same roses. I didn't believe in her little theory... I wanted to come check on and when she wouldn't answer I opened the door to find her in a pool of her own blood."

"Did she manage to say anything to you while being awake?" He asks so I look up at him,

"I'm shocked she tried saying my name. Said him then me and him. I told her not to talk because it would make things harder for her. I told her to save it to talk to you who she saw but... I know she isn't going to make it. There was too much blood. I regret not saying say his name."

Sheriff Galpin sighs taking a seat next to me taking my shaking hands into his so I look at him, "She won't be able to say his name in that much shock. She kept it short and what ever words she could form. Don't feel guilty for telling her n't to talk."

"Why are you comforting me, Sheriff?

"Because I can tell this is effecting you. Once I found out your full name, I did my research on you since my son took a liking to you. Knowing what you did to people in your past and trying to kill people yourself... I can see you aren't the same girl anymore because your hands wouldn't be shaking nor would you feel guilt." He tells me.

"Why still comfort me, someone you hated around your son, but not comfort your own son about topics? I get it's hard to talk about but he's your son. If you don't open up, you'll lose him in a different way." I take my hands back from him.

"For starters; I want to make sure you're fine because you mean a lot to my son. You make him happy and that's all I want for him. And I know I need to open up with him but it's hard for me. The things after her pregnancy with Tyler that lead up to her passing... I don't want him to know." Sheriff Galpin looks away from me.

"If all you want for him to be happy then talk to him. He really needs that from you. Not just being nice to me. He needs you more than me. You're his father. I'm just a outcast girl he likes."

"He takes after his mother a lot but in that case he takes after me. I'm going to check in on Dr. Kinbott. Weems and Wednesday are out in the hall." He gets up leaving the room and I follow.

"Are you okay, Valentine?" Weems gets up walking over to me while Wednesday stares at me.

"I'll be fine." I force a smile.

This is personal advice on working with the Rose of Jericho.

You should already be asking your herbs before using them, especially if you harvest them fresh. The Rose of Jericho is a living spirit who naturally goes into rest, sometimes going years without opening again and can stay dormant for decades.

Even while my Rose is dormant when I water or acknowledge my other plant babies I make sure to share love and appreciation with it.

The Incredible Feat of a Resurrection Plant

It is understandable why one would look at the crispy brown bundle of a Selaginella lepidophylla and think that it was dead. No wonder then why this hardy spikemoss has become such a novelty item for those looking for a unique gift. Indeed, even the common name of "resurrection plant" suggests that this species miraculously returns from the dead with the simple addition of water. A dormant resurrection plant is far from dead, however. It is in a state of dormancy that we are still struggling to understand.

Selaginella lepidophylla is native to the Chihuahuan desert, spanning the border between the US and Mexico. This is a harsh habitat for most plants, let alone a Lycophyte. However, this lineage has not survived hundreds of millions of years by being overly sensitive to environmental change and S. lepidophylla is a wonderful reminder of that.

As you can probably imagine, tolerating near-complete desiccation can be pretty beneficial when your habitat receives an average of only 235 mm (9.3 in) of rain each year. A plant can either store water for those lean times or go dormant until the rains return. The latter is exactly what S. lepidophylla does. As its water supply dwindles, the whole body of the plant curls up into a tight ball and waits. No roots anchor it to the ground. It is at the mercy of the winds as it blows around like a tiny tumbleweed until it winds up wedged into a crack or crevice.

When the rains return, S. lepidophylla needs to be ready. Wet this crispy bundle and watch as over the course of about a day, the dormant ball unfurls to reveal the stunning body of a photosynthetic spikemoss ready to take advantage of moist conditions. Such conditions are short lived, of course, so after a few days drying out, the plant shrivels up and returns to its dormant, ball-like state. How does the plant manage to do this? Why doesn't it simply die? The answer to these questions has been the subject of quite a bit of debate and investigation. 

What we do know is that part of its success has to do with curling up into a ball. Without water in its tissues, its sensitive photosynthetic machinery would easily become damaged by punishing UV rays. By curling up, the plant essentially shelters these tissues from the sun. Indeed, plants that were kept from curling up experienced irreversible damage to their photo systems and were not as healthy as plants that did curl up. To this, the plant owes its success to rather flexible cell walls. Unlike other plants that snap when folded, the cells of S. lepidophylla are able to fold and unfold without any major structural damage.

As far as metabolism and chemistry is concerned, however, we are still trying to figure out how S. lepidophylla survives such drastic shifts. For a while it was thought that, similar to other organisms that undergo such dramatic desiccation, the plant relies on a special sugar called trehalose. Trehalose is known to bind to important proteins and membranes in other desiccation-tolerant organisms, thus protecting them from damage and allowing them to quickly return to their normal function as soon as water returns.

An analysis of non-desiccating Selaginella species, however, showed that S. lepidophylla doesn't produce a lot of trehalose. Though it is certainly present in its tissues, more wet-loving species of Selaginella contain much higher amounts of this sugar. Instead, it has been found that other sugars may actually be playing a bigger role in protecting the inner workings of this plant. Sorbitol and xylitol are found in much higher concentrations within the tissues of S. lepidophylla, suggesting that they may be playing a bigger role than we ever realized. More work is needed to say for sure.

Finally, it would appear that S. lepidophylla is able to maintain enzyme activities within its cells at much higher levels during desiccation periods than was initially thought possible. When dried, some enzymes were found to be working at upwards of 75% efficiency of those found in hydrated tissues. This is really important for a plant that needs to respond quickly to take advantage of fleeting conditions. Along with quick production of new enzymes, this "idling" of enzymatic activity during dormancy is thought to not only protect the plant from too much respiration, but also allows it to hit the ground running as soon as favorable conditions return. 

Despite our lack of understanding of the process, it is amazing to watch this resurrection plant in action. To see something go from a death-like state to a living, photosynthetic organism over the course of a day is truly a marvel worth enjoying.

So, if Canada doesn’t have android laws and neither supports the use nor presence of androids in its territory, then how, exactly, are deviants suppose to survive there? 👀

The androids in the game may be people, but they’re not exactly composed of the same materials as humans. They require different needs to be met so they can function properly. Without a steady/legal supply of Thirium, parts, and maybe even access to system/patch updates, they’re not gonna have a great or easy time over there.

It’s not that I don’t support Kara’s hopes and dreams of a peaceful life but if countries on both sides of the border are willing to shoot androids on sight, maybe they’d be better off in the country where they can actually manage to pilfer the supplies they need to survive.

I think it could actually turn into a nice little dilemma for Kara’s group. Zlatko gives androids false hope of freedom in a country that’s just close enough to touch, and promises to help them get there. But at Rose’s house, she could lay down the reality of the situation that it’s really not that easy. They would still have to live in hiding, and in fact, they wouldn’t even be able to scavenge for resources properly because there aren’t any to be had there. Kara’s family would have to depend solely on the supply runs of their human allies to survive day to day. Yes, they’re less likely to be spotted there because the humans aren’t too familiar with their faces and there may be more people willing to look the other way even then, but that’s about the only advantage.

This is where Jericho’s importance can really shine. Sure, they were pretty much dying, too, before Markus came along, but now that he’s around and pushing for reforms/revolution, the US now has a group which can support people like them. Jericho has supplies, numbers, and a rallying cause. In this universe where Canada is not an idyllic solution with a bow on top, Jericho is a reason to hope for a future where they aren’t constantly fighting to survive. Here, Markus really is the hope for their people.

So, Kara, Alice, and Luthor need to make a choice. Do they join their people’s cause, or do they lay low in a less hostile environment and wait for the situation to be resolved? It isn’t an easy choice with a child to think of, but … I also think that this could be where Alice being an android can come into play.

Because I want Alice’s identity to mean something. She’s designed as a little girl, but I imagine that her processing capabilities are on par with any other CyberLife product. She’s very aware of her own decisions, as well as what’s going on around her. Alice, I like to imagine, is more child-shaped than childlike.

So, they’re on Jericho. Rose has given them the details and dropped them off, and they need to decide if they’re going to ask for passports or stay to help/fight. Luthor wants to leave; Kara is conflicted. But Alice has reliably played the moral figure in Kara’s route and I think it’d be interesting if she argues to stay.

It isn’t a popular opinion. The three of them get into an argument and Kara gets angry, the kind of angry that comes from fear. Maybe they’re discussing this in an isolated part of the ship; maybe the other androids are just studiously ignoring them at this point. Either way, Alice wants to join Jericho, and Kara tells her, “You’re just a little girl!”

But she shouts, “Stop treating me like I’m human!”

And Alice is angry. She’s angry at Todd for terrorizing her over the memory of a little girl who probably doesn’t even remember him. She’s angry she had to run away from home. She’s angry that Kara has forced her to keep up the facade to the point of possibly endangering them. She’s angry at Zlatko, who hurt so many androids who came to him for help and instead locked and tortured them in his house.

Alice is done with pretending, done with hiding, and done with running away from people who want nothing more than to hurt her. Alice wants to fight back.

From there, the player has to decide if they’ll convince Luthor to stay in Jericho or convince Alice to come with them. Kara can also decide to strike off on her own if she fails to convince Alice (either through choosing all of the wrong dialogue options or just having a low relationship with her — also, Luthor will always stay with Alice even if you don’t). Maybe Kara can also have the option to walk away from both of them altogether when she realizes(?) Alice is an android.

Anyway, that was just some of my thoughts of what could have gone over. Mostly because I don’t believe in the happily-ever-after-land of Canada that the game presents — especially considering they can get shot at the border check instead of simply being turned away. Everything else kind of spiraled from there. 👀

Summary:When the titans split apart regarding the incident between Jericho and Deathstroke, you find yourself trying to comfort Dick Grayson.

Note: some swearing and violence

“and I lied to you too,” you can see Rose’s eyes becoming glossier the moment dick confesses the truth while everyone sits in utter silence, the tension slowly rising.

“I told you Jericho was dead when I got to the church but he wasn’t, he was alive.

“He died trying to save me from his father,” the sincerity in his words almost making it harder for the titans to actually believe he’s incredibly remorseful. “I’m sorry,” his words loud and clear as he hangs his head in shame since he’s aware he’s let down the team.

Everyone’s eyes follow Hank’s figure as he strides up to Dick, almost towering over him. “You lying sack of shit!” He sneers as he punches him against his jaw causing him to stumble. You can see the helpless look on Kori’s face as she runs to him in his defense trying to get Hank to back away from him while Dawn on the other hand tugs at Hank, pulling him away.

“How many other fucking half truths have you told us?” The coarseness In Donna’s voice as she impatiently drums her fingers onto the counter, ready to leave at any minute. Silence overcomes the team until Rose herself breaks the tension “My brothers dead because of you. I’m out,” her voice cold as ice as she storms out of the tower, Jason Todd following right behind her before shooting Dick a deathly glare.

One by one, each single Titan flounces their way out of the exit. Starfire herself, heads out to leave before explaining that she has some personal business to take care off, leaving only you and Garfield sticking by him. The titans are no more.

Garfield seems to get the hint that the two of you should rather talk and therefore heads in the opposite direction. You can feel your muscles tensing as you hear the clattering of your stilettos while you walk up to him. Hesitantly, you place your hand on his shoulder, causing him to turn around halfway. His eyes become darker as he delves deeper into his mind and realised the amount of destruction and hurt he has caused the team, especially Wilson.

“What actually happened that night.. you know.. with Jericho?” You mumble as his back is still turned away from you. “He tried saving my life and leaped in front of me,” his gaze fixated on the ground as your stomach churns as his name rolls of the tip of your tongue. You’d never imagined things to end like this.

“Deathstrokes sword went straight through him,” his voice slightly cracking towards the end as you purse your lips into a fineline. Within a matter of minutes, he heads out of the vast room, the sound of silence causing you discomfort. The titans tower seems deserted since everyone has already left and departed ways almost as if they’ve cut ties with Dick for lying about Jericho’s death.

Richard Dick Grayson, has never been the type to ask for help or want anyone to be around him. He tries to figure things out alone and that was what he was trying to accomplish now. You can’t help but make sure that he’s fine as your hands quiver while you gently knock on his door. You don’t hear a sound but decide to go in anyways.

He’s sat on his bed, his head in his hands as he tries to calm down and reassure himself that everything will be okay. However the tiny voice in his head constantly abuses him for making such an untrustworthy move. “Dick-“ you can hear the weariness in your voice as you lean against the frame of his door, your eyes turning softer when you seen him looking so devastated.

He isn’t the type to share feelings. He isn’t the type that needs you around but you do. You want to stick by him and comfort him and tell him everything’s going to be alright but that would be called ‘lying to yourself’ and sending him false hope.

Reluctantly, you move closer towards him and sit beside him on the mattress of his bed, your hand on his knee as he glances at you through his thick lashes, his gaze turning gentle. “You should leave,” the harshness in his voice reviving once again, as he tries to put up a false demeanour. “I don’t want too- I want to be here.. with you. Is that too much to ask?” You question, your voice trembling.

Within seconds, your lips are on his. It’s more of a ‘Needy kiss’ while you cup his visage with your hand, your mouthes moving in sync before pulling away, his eyes fluttering open as a wave of regret washes over you. “We- Kori,” her name leaves your lips like a diminuendo as you decided to not speak further about it, let alone the situation regarding death stroke.

Your legs feel weak but you manage to get up and leave, glancing at him one last time before letting him know that everything will fall back into place by itself and bidding him a goodnight.Trying not to mention the sudden cliche ness, you shut the door softly behind you and hope for the best to come for the titans.

Queen Of The Ring. The amount of female talent available on Raw, SmackDown, NXT and NXT UK is quite something. It's clear that this is the richest women's division in WWE history. They really should do something with all those workers. The 'Mae Young Classic' tourneys have been fine, but people would trip over themselves to see a fully-fledged 'Queen Of The Ring' epic staged across multiple nights. If booked correctly, this tournament could help establish a new contender for top titles. If she isn't Champion by then(though she should be) the perfect person to become Queen Of The Ring would be Bianca Belair! Bianca Belair would have unparalleled credibility for her 'StrongEST, FastEST, ToughEST' mantra if she whipped a bevy of skilled workers to become the first 'Queen'. WWE could also get creative by linking the event in with Charlotte Flair's nickname and spinning off into a feud between her and the winner afterwards.

Form Full-Time Female Tag-Teams and keep them around. The Women’s Tag Team DIvision is a mess. Keep creating makeshift Tag Teams and breaking up established tag teams and your tag team division is dead. The current champs and their predecessors haven't even been "proper" full-time duos - Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler were shoved together awkwardly in the summer, and they've since been replaced by the unlikely Asuka and Charlotte Flair combo. This cannot be allowed to continue. It's damning that WWE don't have more fully-formed pairings ready to go. The Riott Squad are perhaps the only actual twosome who are presented as a tight-knit collective weekly. Other than that, who is there? Considering the belts have been around for a few years now, that's unacceptable. The IIconics split, so did Sasha Banks and Bayley, and the scene is littered by 'odd couple' tandems like Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans and Peyton Royce, and Billie Kay teaming with the likes of Natalya or Tamina when it suits.

Ensure NXT is treated like a proper third brand rather than a quasi-development league for Raw and SmackDown. NXT has been on USA Network for over a year now, but it's still very much behind both Raw and SmackDown as a priority. Need proof? Look at the way Keith Lee was handled when he was "called up" after SummerSlam 2020. The former NXT Champ had to start all over again, and he's had several teething problems on Monday nights. It'd be nice to see WWE move away from positioning NXT as a 'feeder' for the other two shows. Changing someone's gimmick when they leave makes the brand look less-than, and there's simply no need for that anymore; NXT should be an equal to Raw and SmackDown, not a development league. Sadly, it still comes across as that. Lee's stop/start plight and the (mis)fortunes of others like Aleister Black and Ricochet should be a lesson to WWE. Some workers are better off rocking the black and yellow, not the red or blue.

The Women’s Division is improved. The girls get more time to shine on Dynamite. Your champion actually appears(shocking, I know) and build feuds and stories for your women’s division. There’s still some time to do what’s right for your women’s division, but the only thing that remains to be seen, does the powers that be of AEW even care?

Get a new title design for the Women’s Championship. It looks like a toy for a child. It’s plastic, not gold.  It should be as big and beautifully designed as the men’s titles. It should be as big as the NWA’s title or even the WWE’s title. The title is symbolic as to how AEW treats it’s own women’s division and that needs to change with a fresh new design.

Sign Thunder Rosa. It may not fix everything with the women’s division, but it gives you your needed star power. Tony Khan should be begging on his hands and knees to sign Thunder Rosa in 2021 after her time with the NWA is up, his women’s division is getting their asses kicked by what his EVP refers to as a “developmental brand”

If you can’t sign Thunder Rosa. My solution is Push Anna Jay and  Britt Baker as the top face and heel of the women’s division and either of them dethrone Shida.

Changes

Leave whatever that monstrosity of a creative team they have for RAW is. Let the Wrestlers dictate what they want their characters to be. Ditch the scripted promos. Let promos feel organic and real. Let the wrestlers be characters who feel real and genuine. Get rid of a “Creative” that isn't creative and let the wrestlers be creative and let them be free of terrible creative.

Get rid of the Gimmick PPV. WWE has ruined gimmick matches by turning them into themed PPVs. none of these matches are organic or special anymore. The matches themselves are great but are booked to fit a theme of a pay-per-view, when they should be used organically at the height of feuds. no one cares about the name of PPVs, so i don’t understand why WWE does this. the only one that actually works is MITB, because it makes sense as storylines reset after Mania.

Scrap the Brand Warfare/Brand Supremacy. WWE should scrap the tired brand warfare format at Survivor Series and move away from Raw vs. SmackDown completely. Booking around a calendar has become company law in WWE over the past decade or so. Perhaps McMahon always formatted things this way really, but it's more glaring now that gimmick bouts like Elimination Chamber, Hell In A Cell and Money In The Bank have their own pay-per-views. Survivor Series, with it's played out Raw vs. SmackDown vibes, also needs a rethink. "Brand warfare" is boring now, and it has been for several years. Although 2020's event was fun, it's nonetheless true that the month-long build to Survivors feels like a repetitive slog fans are forced to sit through every November. Hopefully, 2021 will change that. It is possible to book traditional elimination bouts without some sort of false show loyalty - WWE did this almost every single year until the first brand split in 2002. Their over-reliance on Raw vs. SmackDown is plain lazy. Survivor Series should be revolved around great rivalries between stables/factions. It’s really not that hard. Or at the very least if there IS a Smackdown vs Raw themed Survivor Series, at least add a damn reward. Give the brand a head start in the Rumble,, give the winners of the match number one contenders for their brand’s respective titles or ANYTHING better than just “brand supremacy lol”

Get rid of the 24/7 title. It has run it’s course. R-Truth is funny, but even he can’t make it work anymore.

Stop. Breaking. Up. Tag Teams. Stop killing your Tag Team Division. For the love of god just stop!

Do not rush Becky Lynch back to the ring, she just had a baby. I read the reports that Vince wants Becky back by Wrestlemania. That is a terrible decision

Stop killing pushes because Vince changed his mind

Enough with “creative has nothing for you” if your “creative” has nothing for a certain wrestler, then they are not creative. Either let the wrestlers appear on the show or release them if you don’t want them anymore, it’s simple as that.

Do. Not. Put. The. Title. On. Goldberg. Goldberg should not have beaten Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend' for the Universal Title at Super ShowDown in February - that was a huge mistake, one that set Bray back and felt totally unnecessary. In 2021, WWE should outright avoid any temptation to repeat the trick and give ol' Billy another go-around with one of the top titles. If anything, Goldberg's only purpose should be to play victim for a quick Roman Reigns squash. Get through that elusive match then turn Bill into a company ambassador. He doesn't need to pretend it's still 1998 all these years on.

AEW

Leave the overabundance of spots just for the sake of spots and enough with the false finishes. Jim Ross was right, like it or not, the spots for the sake of spots and the false finishes need to end. This is my major problem with AEW and why I can’t stand The Elite in general. Everyone just needs to  get their shit in. Everything looks fake. No one can look strong or credible and we have to see garbage Indy wrestlers and the spot monkeys make everything look fake and phony. The champions never look credible and everyone is on the level of job guys. This needs to change

Stop leaving your Women’s Champion off the show. It is downright insulting how dirty they are doing Hikaru Shida. She deserves as much time to shine as the other champions deserve.

Stop putting the NWA Women’s Champion as more of a priority than your own Women’s Champion

Enough with Brandi. Why is the women’s division given absolutely 0 screentime and barely anytime to develop their stories, but Brandi is ALWAYS THERE! Everything has to be about her. When a feud between Cody and Shaq was close to happening, of course it had to be about her. She’s turned heel/face as much time as the Big Show. I’ve grown tired of Brandi Rhodes. Stop shoving that attention whore down our throats. WE GET IT! You wanna be Stephanie so bad!

Enough with Cody’s big dramatic midlife crisis entrances. We get it, you wanna be Triple H SO BAD!

Stop the petty bullshit shots at WWE. It was fun at first, but it’s getting annoying. This is Eric Bischoff giving away the results and “That’ll put butts in the seats” level of petty bullshit. AEW had the fucking nerve to tweet a fan’s post saying they did a better tribute for Brodie Lee than WWE. HE JUST DIED! AND YOU ARE MAKING IT ABOUT YOUR FUCKING RIVALRY? GROW THE FUCK UP!

AEW All Out 2021 Review

AKA The PPV that turned my brain to scrambled eggs

Miro vs Eddie Kingston

We start off with “Redeem Deez Nuts”. Beautiful. This match was good, but nothing to what the rest of the card would bring. It is a little sad now that I say that, but I liked how it eased everyone in. I’m sure this is not the end of this feud.

Satoshi Kojima vs John Moxley

Jon is on his bullshit here and made it turn very brutal very quickly. Overall, this was a solid match and a good intro to Kojima for the uninitiated. At the time I thought it could have afforded to be a little longer, but with no stakes and with what’s to come I understand.

We also get our first debut of the night, Minoru Suzuki. Moxley preceded to have a “punch fest” Suzuki, which was a little silly but exciting.

Britt Baker vs Kris Statlander

I feel that this match fit in a comfortable space, it didn’t need to be anything special. That being said, it had great moments. First, Britt breaking the fourth wall was great. Then the powerbomb scissor kick combination from Kris. Orange cracking, and by extension Britt cracking. All great. They were slightly clunky going into the finish, but I can excuse that because of how much energy they were putting in

Lucha Bros vs Young Bucks

WHAT AN INTRO FOR THE LUCHA BROS. I feel that was the start of an atmosphere that would carry the rest of the night. There were “Zero Miedo” chants before it even started. Right out of the gate, the Bucks tried to escape, which began them being overly cocky throughout the rest of the match. Which isn’t a surprise but still. This is also apparent when the Bucks attempted to demask the brothers, and from there the match quickly went hardcore. A shoe covered in thumbtacks can apparently produce a lot of blood.

Overall, this was the match of the night and the Lucha Bros deserve this title run for as long as possible.

21-woman Casino Battle Royale

I can’t breathe at this point, so much has already happened. Here we got a mild rest, with good feud references, Nyla Rose on her usual demolition path, and a hint of Diamante vs Swole. Then, we got Ruby Soho. Which is awesome!

But, I don’t think she should have won. Last eliminated would have been fine, but Rosa deserved a win here. I’m also just not a big fan of people getting such high-stakes wins on a debut. I will admit, the back and forth on the ring edge was very entertaining. Basically, good ending with the wrong winner.

MJF vs Chris Jericho

Do you ever just look at the TV screen and drool? Because that’s what I did. I was white-knuckling the whole way. Jericho just seemed to be having fun, and I’m happy for him. These two were going to put on a banger, we knew this going in, but the stakes did something great here. Some standout moves: MJF’s troll intro referencing Y2J, the partition tossed into MJF’s head, Jericho’s lionsault, and the false finish. Honestly, I didn’t like the false finish, but MJF is a master heel and the look on his face when they reversed the decision was WORTH IT. As was getting to see him tap.

Darby Allen vs CM Punk

This match came prepackaged with an impeccable atmosphere. You could go back and just listen to the chants and know the importance of this match. Overall, the moves were jumpy and clever. I could tell Darby was leading sometimes, but Punk was following well and clearly, has been ready for this. Case and point, Darby getting LAUNCHED out of the ring, which was probably my favorite moment. Also, go to sleep must have felt good for Punk. I need to watch old Punk matches now

QT Marshall vs Paul Wight

Okay, it’s nap time! But, we got to watch Paul beat people up for a bit, which was nice.

Kenny Omega vs. Christian Cage

If you had told me last year this match was happening I would not believe you. But, I’m so glad it’s true. Kenny being Kenny, with his slipperiness and cotton candy douche bag right behind him at every turn. One minute here comes a table, then there goes the table. Quite frankly, there were a surprising amount of table spots and added needed energy after everything that had already happened on the show. It also felt like a touch of old school coming out from Christian’s TLC days. Speaking of Christian, he is nothing if not fearless and seemed to go feral towards the end of the match. The high-angle cloverleaf looked genuinely painful BECAUSE it was rushed and sloppy. Like he was running out of time and doing everything possible. Then, “Don’t do this”.

Gallows and Anderson. Didn’t like them being here, so we’re going to move on

There were 20 minutes. I was braced for impact. The first words out of my mouth when the bell rang was “If I hear Flight of the Valkyries, I will cry.” But no, it was the boyfriend of one of my favorite wrestlers and former half of the Big Top Tag Team Champions. Adam Cole came home. Frankly, I thought this was better. Adam Cole deserved to be here.

Then, Flight of the Valkyries actually did hit, and suddenly I was on the floor. I’m not even joking. I hit the floor, head in hands. Bryan Danielson. I’m still sitting here in a daze over this.

The raw emotion tonight, the environment AEW has cultivated, has lead to this.

Bravo, AEW. Now keep cultivating it. We have even higher expectations now.
