@system-family​ I honestly never met anyone who’s parent(s) had an alcohol problem of any sort who wasn’t affected by their parent’s alcoholism. Just a personal experience on my side.

"Affected by” is quite the vague term ;)

If you mean “not traumatized by”, then yeah we exist. (i think there’s a bit of a self-selection bias going on, folks who have experienced trauma being more likely to be in a situation where “my parents were/are alcoholics” is actually relevant to say, i.e. in spaces talking about abusive parents, where “alcoholic parent” is an explanation unto itself)

25. I fucking hate Lambert he’s a dick to everyone all the time, especially Yennefer. I mean I guess Eskel also doesn’t like Yen, but more because he’s protecting Geralt than just being an asshole. also Eskel is nice.

37. I really like Cerys as a ruler more than Hjalmar. She’s incredibly level-headed and tries to get to the root of problems instead of rushing into things.

Right?! People always tell me ‘Hey, you have two hours, maybe spend them playing The Witcher’ and I am just laughing cause they absolutely don’t understand. This is not a game you can play real quick. It’s just not happening.

I agree with you completely, even coming from Germany. Alcohol is everywhere and it's a completely normal thing. People don't even think about it being dangerous. The issue is ignored or brushed off, it's worrying. :/

I’m sorry to hear it’s a problem for you as well, and it is worrying, for sure. No one wants to take the idea of it being an issue seriously, so it just keeps getting worse and worse.

There definitely isn't enough public education on mental illness. That's part of the problem. Another part of the problem, in my experience, has been NT people who, even after exposure to and education about anxiety and panic disorders, still cannot or will not understand that they are real. Like, sorry dude but my anxiety attack that leaves me emotionally and mentally drained to the point that I sometimes dissociate is in no way comparable to you being stressed out about work. It's not something that taking off an hour early will fix. It's not something that I can always manage. I'm fighting a war with my own brain so offering me anecdotes about how stressful your life may be isn't helpful at all. I understand that they may have good intentions and they are trying to understand by using their experiences as a yardstick but it's really apples and oranges and it usually comes with advice like "just breathe" or "it's going to be okay, just calm down". Buddy, if I could just breathe and calm down don't you think I would? Why, in my 30 some odd years on this earth dealing with an anxiety disorder did I never consider just calming down? My eyes are now opened and I have conquered the beast thanks to your advice! Idk I'm super salty today and this rant is in no way directed at you lol! Everything you said is absolutely true.

Wanting to change your therapist does NOT make you a bad person at all. If there is a reason you want to see a different therapist, any reason, that is completely fine. You should go to someone you are comfortable with & trust to be able to help you competently. Therapy is about you, not your therapist. It is supposed to help you & it can only be helpful and healthy if you have a therapist you are happy with! ❤

Do I have to pick just one? xD There are lots of them that I like...I guess I’ll go with Darth Vader from the original trilogy because when I was a kid he scared and fascinated me at the same time xD Apart from that - Captain Hook, Hades, Yzma, Loki, Magneto, Moriarty (from Doyle’s books), and many others that I probably have forgotten :P
