This Matters // Nitori and Rin

This year. This year, for sure. I have to do it. 

Last year had been an utter failure. For whatever reason, he hadn't been able to get ahold of Rin and hand over the gift he'd worked hard to get his hands on. It had taken a lot to get all the material needed, and then he worked through broken pieces and little odds and ends until he has assembled his creation. 

Supported on a dark black rope with hooks on the ends, and adorned with red and black and white beads to symbolize Samezuka, there in the center of the necklace sat a prominent shark's tooth engraved with "Rin," in English letters. Black beads with red and white lettering sat on either side of the tooth, two each, and they were carved with the characters for Samezuka. Nitori had learned how to do the work himself just so he could make sure the gift came from the heart.

If he bought some random shark-tooth necklace, it wouldn't be as special. If anything, it'd be ordinary. Rin probably got gifts like that all the time, after all, so he wasn't exactly being the most original with this idea. But he wanted to try it regardless. 

Taking a deep breath, he knocked a few times on the door leading to Rin and Sousuke's room, fidgeting with the gift bag he held in his hands. There were some other things in there too, mostly little snacks he knew Rin liked from his recommendations during swim practice, but...The necklace sat in a box near the bottom of said bag. And he could only hope everything went well. 

"R-Rin-senpai! Are you busy?"
