In this past months I have written about love probably more than my entire life. I recently felt to look at each of the 9 virtues described in Galatians 5 and write about each of them. At the end of writing about one of my favorites,Joy. I was hit with a very difficult serie of trials that lasted over a week. Every area of my life was tested to the limit. Today these storms have passed and I reflect on the greatest lesson I've learned, throguhout this journey I have seen first hand the power love has to restore, to heal, to mend, to give hope, and to keep you going forward. Especially when love is shown through the life of an everyday individual. I have seen love shown to me in a diversity of ways and the ones that admired me the most were the strangers that were so kind and loving to me throguhout this journey. Today I would like to celebrate love with you, and to remind you that it is truly the greatest virtue of all time. Everday we face untold challenges, but we can not forget to let our love burn to the very best of its potential. God is love and only living a lifestyle in Him will give you the kind of love that will help you prevail thru anything and everything. Love better today, a life depends on it. En los últimos meses he escrito sobre el amor probablemente más que toda mi vida. Recientemente sentí que debía mirar cada una de las 9 virtudes descritas en Gálatas 5 y escribir sobre cada una de ellas. Al final de escribir sobre una de mis favoritas, Gozo. Fui golpeado por una serie de pruebas muy difíciles que duraron más de una semana. Cada área de mi vida fue probada hasta el límite. Hoy estas tormentas han pasado y reflexiono sobre la lección más grande que he aprendido, a lo largo de este viaje he visto de primera mano el poder que tiene el amor para restaurar, sanar, reparar, dar esperanza y fuerzas para seguir adelante. Especialmente cuando el amor se muestra a través de la vida de un individuo común como tu y yo. He visto amor mostrado en una diversidad de formas y los que más me admiraron fueron los extraños que fueron tan amables y cariñosos conmigo durante todo estas travesias. Hoy me gustaría celebrar el amor contigo y recordarte que es verdaderamente la mayor virtud de todos los tiempos. Todos los días enfrentamos desafíos incalculables, pero no podemos olvidarnos de dejar que nuestro amor arda al máximo potencial que tiene. This past weekend I was privileged to celebrate the birthday of a one year old and a baby shower for another baby. I was happy to be in both, but suddenly I started receiving thoughts about the child that my wife and I lost in April this year. I experienced sudden moments in which I started realizing we could have been celebrating our baby's shower, or that we will not get to celebrate our first child's birthdays. These thoughts were very intense, and I did get sad momentarily. I lead a very intense schedule and is easy to not pay attention to emotions because of the task oriented life a person can live. This past weekend I realized the amount of healing the Lord is still doing in my wife and I after going through our loss, in the same manner I started thinking about the thousands of families who have lost family members to the pandemic and the thousands more praying for their relatives to recover. And then it came to me, I started thinking, "joy must be the last thing on anyone's mind all across the world" and if we all got to sit down together and share our stories we would get a better understanding of just how much pain and suffering we have all experienced in this season. Where can joy be found in all of this? Is joy only available in the sudden moments that briefly come, as when we celebrate a wedding, celebrate a birthday, see a baby for the very first time. I believe Joy is not only available for us in those moments, but actually joy is the intended purpose for our lives that God meant from the very beginning. These past weekend I found that first I had to reject all the thoughts that tried to take hold of me, whispers from the enemy that try to plague you and I. I had to make a firm decision to be happy for the little girls we did get to celebrate. The many wars we have fought have given us an understanding of peace that is not necessarily the same peace Jesus talks about in scripture. For many peace is the absence of conflict, yet when we read the word of God, we find verses like: “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3 NVI "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NLT This year we have experienced much conflict and much conflict is still ahead. We need the kind of peace that stays with us no matter what we face. Jesus is our perfect peace, and He is the perfect example of peace even facing death itself. In our daily walk and decision making, peace is the best ally and confirmation from God, so many decisions in my own life have had the key element of peace reassuring me that God was stirring me in the right direction. One advice I give often to people is, "do not let no one and nothing steal away the peace, Jesus Himself died to give you" I hope it is an advice you can take as well, since it has helped me maintain peace even when all around wants to steal it away in the form of circumstances, conflicts, disagreements, people lashing out among many others. Today I encourage you to seek God and ask for the perfect peace that i sable to take us through any trial and season, just like Jesus. Tip #1 is definitely surrendering to God. The bible is the depiction of the love story of Almighty Creator and creation choosing to walk away from Him and God sacrificing all to see that creation have a Way to go back to Him, and so many details in between for thousands and thousands of years. Today once again regardless of where our relationship with God is, it is time to surrender completely to God, fix anything that is getting between the relationship He desires to have with us and accept that Jesus gave His life for you and I. He paid with His life for our sin and error, so we may inherit the life He intended for us to have in the first place. This is definitely the first tip that will position us into hearing Him. ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬ El consejo # 1 es definitivamente rendirse a Dios. La Biblia es la descripción de la historia de amor del Creador Todopoderoso y la creación eligiendo alejarse de Él y Dios sacrificando todo para ver que la creación tenga un Camino para regresar a Él, y tantos detalles en el medio durante miles y miles de años. Hoy, una vez más, independientemente de dónde esté nuestra relación con Dios, es hora de entregarnos por completo a Él; arreglar cualquier cosa que se interponga entre la relación que Él desea tener con nosotros y aceptar que Jesús dio su vida por ti y por mí. Él pagó con Su vida por nuestro pecado y error, para que podamos heredar la vida que Él quiso que tuviéramos en primer lugar.
