Hey there friends! I want to play a game!

I LOVE the idea of a Draw This In Your Style, but I've always been a little bummed that I can't draw very well. But I'm really proud of how this picture came out, so I wanted to propose an event! 👀

Draw my little fairies in your style, having a picnic. If you need close-ups or other references, you can find them on my blog under the tag ts fairy au. You can stick to this layout or get a little more creative, however you prefer!

I'm offering a small prize as well, winner's choice of a custom fairy design (shipping not included) OR a 1,000 word drabble of your choice (no nsfw please, and other standard drabble rules apply). I may pick multiple winners if I get a lot of participants!

I hope he came out petty. I've been staring at the glitter scales for 20 minutes and I can't decide if I like it or not. I might make a Logan for him to dance with 👀 ((if you like him 😳😳))

@kittenwitchandthebadvibes I made a fairy for you!! Your blog helps me with so much and I wanted to try my hand at another character. My favorite thing about my style is that I can spend time watching my ideas come to life in my hands, and no two are ever done exactly the same!

My Sanders Sides project is finally complete!!! Fairies are kind of my thing, so I made the sides into a Royal Fairy Court. Roman is the King of the Fairies, Logan is his Royal Adviser, Patton is the Court Mage, and finally, Virgil is the Captain of the Guard and Roman’s personal Guard. If anyone is interested I will be posting each individually later tonight and talking a little more in depth about how they were made, and each with have some extra pictures. Special thanks to @randomslasher for previewing these for me. 

I suppose I should also @thatsthat24 for being such an awesome creator and bringing these characters to life, since they’ve sparked an interest in my character//costume studies that I haven’t had in years :)

Logan, the Royal Adviser. Logan is by far the most simply designed of the four. His shirt is made of navy-blue pansy and he has a little train of black ostrich feather. I can’t imagine the feather was in his original design plan, but who can really say no to the king? (Roman totally brought it back for him from a quest to put on his coat, and he totally loved it, but if you ask him, its a different story entirely.)

Logan and Patton’s glasses are magically-imbued replicas of the ones they see humans wearing, and it took a lot of trial and error to get them right. Yes, the fairies can make an invisible solid surface similar to glass (made with magic though), but its not like they know how to grind it properly. Logan is very proud of his discovery, even if he was pretty shy about wearing them at first.

He enjoys his job because it makes him feel both needed in the court and secure in his future. He enjoys spending time with the others, certainly, but he can get socially exhausted easily. He does NOT stay long at Roman’s parties, but he does make the effort to spend time doing something Roman enjoys so much.

Patton, the Court Mage. Patton’s outfit is certainly the most technical. He has/had an undershirt of a white rose petal that is now extremely hard to see. His coat is made of light blue roses on top and the tail is blue dahlia, with a blue peacock feather. (The peacock feather is super important because it looks magical and I said so. :) )

Patton loves parties and watching humans and anything else he can wander off and do. He likes his magic, but doesn’t necessarily use it much for the purposes that most believe the Court Mage’s Position is (read: enforcing law and otherwise scaring people.) His coat is big and flow-y because he likes it that way, says it makes him dance better and give better hugs because he can bundle people up in the tails. (Logan says that’s not how that works, but doesn’t complain when Patton bundles him up.)

Patton likes to show off the positive sides of his magic. He’s one of the strongest mages within the court in generations, but relatively naïve about his magic. He claims to have taken a vow totally swearing off violent or negative-magics. Some say that he can’t actually do that as the Court Mage, because his duty is to protect Roman and the Royal Court, but Roman isn’t going to push him.

Roman, the King of the Fairies. ((Yeah, I kinda had to go with King for this. we’ll say he graduated.)) His coat is made of white roses and white lilies, and the bottom tails of the coat are lined with little red roses. His wings are double-layered, which is the sign of royal blood among the fairies in this Au.

I’d like to think that roman is large-scale and extravagant, even when the Fairies should technically be hiding themselves from men. Roman loves to host parties and dances and invite whoever he can, and naturally is a bit of a seducer, but always leaves with one of his Court (did i mention this was a LAMP au?)

Virgil, the Royal Guard. Virgil’s overcoat is black hydrangea and purple dahlia at the tails, and the undershirt is purple poppies. his coat is split so that it only covers his breast, which he liked better than the full coats that roman had shown him.

Virgil took the opportunity to be the Royal Guard because it offered him the chance to protect those that he cares about the most, as well as give him the excuse to worry over them and not seem overbearing. However, he didn’t realize that in becoming Roman’s personal bodyguard, he was also signing up to be the captain of the Court’s Guardsmen, which is a lot more responsibility than he thought (thinks) he can handle. Roman does a lot of reassuring in the mornings. Patton totes him off to bed when he’s clearly not gotten enough sleep.

Of the four, Virgil is the youngest, but only slightly, and therefore the most recent addition to the Royal Court. He feels like he constantly needs to earn his place (he sees the other guardsmen as being much better fighters than he is, and constantly questions his ability to serve in his positions well.) He wants to prove himself. The others want to show him he doesn’t have to.

Incorrect costume is incorrect, but I ran out of time. The important thing is, I had this little guy autographed and that makes me 10000% happier about him.
