i am still annoyed with how the faily oddparents was so obsessed with the status quo they would literaly erase everyones memory of major events just to keep it

not that it mattered in the later seasons

rememebr that rule about keepign fairies a secret

well not anymore i guess cause timmys dad, and vickey all saw poof and foop in this one episode where dad had to be babysat by vicky....and vicky stole foop and poofs wands

honestly it would have been really interesting to see status quo change to where timmys friends know about cosmo and wanda and timmy and trixie actually stayed together

I think I'd change it so that keeping it secret is less a 'hard rule' and more a 'do so at your own risk' situation. Because think about it.

1.) There are Fairy Hunters.

2.) Some parents would not react kindly to finding out 'your kid is so miserable they were assigned a new Magical adult guardian to fulfill their happiness requirements'.

3.) Other kids might get a little bitter and jealous that their friend suddenly has all that power.

4.) In general, there's just people who would want to take advantage of the Fairy's powers.

So yeah it would make sense why they would just say 'don't tell anyone'. But you'd be allowed to tell at risk of friendships, and should you tell someone who is in category 1 or 4, then you might lose the Fairies as precaution against that as they'd erase memory when it poses a danger to the group as a whole.
