      ‘ hello, ’ he teases gently, a finger tip gently running over his cheek. tenderness isn’t really IN HIS NATURE. at least, that’s what a lifetime of hell has lead him to believe. his father had drilled into him that love was a weakness but staring down into the wide eyes of his son, Jonathan can’t find it in himself to agree with that any longer. he lifts the boy easily, mindful of how small he is, & settles him on his lap. ‘ did you miss me, little one? ’ he had a room at the institute made over for the two of them, pending the Queen’s permission to take Ash back with him so he might have some amount of training in his father’s world between spending time learning the ways of the Seelie Court, but that’s for later. right now he just wants to hold his son, spend TIME with him outside of obligations & expectations. ‘ I missed you very much. ’

      his laughter bounces off the halls before he dissolves into a pile on her lap. he’s so HAPPY HERE, with his mother - it’s so hard to think about leaving, & for a long minute he’s elated enough he can forget about it. it’ll come back though; it always does. finally, he lets out a spluttering gasp of no more, mama! no more! before collapsing into another heap of giggles. he’s content. MORE than content. ‘ I love you! ’ he grins finally. ‘ I wanna stay here with you all the time. ’

      ‘ yes! ’ Clary grins, scooping up the soft fabric & easily tugging it on her head. it’s perfect really - how he’s always able to just know astounds her. ‘ it’s perfect, and it goes with the scarf your daddy gave me. ’ somehow, that might just maybe explain it a little bit, but if anything that just makes her even more fond of them both. ‘ did you get one for yourself? we should match! and-- ’ she pulls him up to sit on her lap where she’s working on cutting up apples & oranges into slices. ‘ want to help me put those in that big pot? we’re going to make cider. ’

“You sent for me, my queen?” Kaelie bowed as she always did, kneeling before fairy queen, a sign of her loyalty and servitude. She had been by her side since she was a youngling, eager to find her place in the court and how best to serve the woman before her. Today though, she had not been expecting a summence, she had been basking by the rivers with a few others, soaking in the sun when the messenger came and as such, she was hardly dressed for court.  Even still, she knew better then to keep the queen waiting.

“Of course, would you prefer I do so princess style or piggy back?” He could do either of course, Ash may be almost fully grown after his disappearance into that other world but Adaon was confident he was strong enough to carry the boy if it was truly what he wanted.

      it’s been... he doesn’t want to think about how long it’s been. the house arrest isn’t permanent, he knows, but it feels like it’s already dragged on forever. still, they’ve loosened SOME of the restrictions they’ve put on him, meaning he can at least receive visitors. they had seemed... surprised at the request, & he has to wonder if they had assumed he’d ask for something more like a stele or weapons. no, he knew they would never grant that & while this was a risk... he had to see HIS SON. he sits up straighter when he sees a familiar face approaching the Institute, Meliorn approaching the sanctuary with a familiar little bundle. tossing the book aside, he heads downstairs, meeting them in the Sanctuary. ‘ hello there, ’ he says, a softness coming over him as he accepts the little bundle, laughing as he sees his boy is curled up in one of his own sweaters. ‘ thank you for bringing him, ’ he murmurs, knowing the other is the Queen’s most trusted if he’s the one accompanying their little boy. ‘ hello, little one. did you miss me? ’

      ‘ yeah! ’ it’s maybe a shade too enthusiastic, but he grins all the same & kicks his little feet against the cabinets under where he’s sitting perched on the counter. dad is out on patrol but he should be home soon. the weather is just cold enough that there won’t be too many people outside, but finding good apples shouldn’t be a problem for them. ‘ can we ask aunt clary to go too? ’

      ‘ I’m sorry our plans got rained out, ’ the redhead says, balancing the little boy on her hip as she makes her way through the traffic. she had planned to take him to the park, or maybe even the botanical gardens PROPERLY, but the heavy rain had made that all but impossible today so she’d had to improvise. they’ve all been cooped up inside unless they have to patrol, & she knows they’re both probably getting a little too much cabin fever. 

      luckily the CONSERVATORY at the botanical garden wasn’t especially busy, & she can carry him through to look at the interesting plants. it makes her miss wandering the Steinhardt Conservatory with Simon on days like this, but that had felt... she wasn’t ready for that. that was another lifetime & she’s not sure what’ll happen if she tries to bring her new self back into it. this is good though, this place - getting to share it with Ash. ‘ see anything interesting? ’

“Are you ready for movie night?” Dru greeted the prince with a grin that could only be described as mischievous. Eagerly she lead him up to her room, where she had her TV all set up and snacks a plenty to go with the double feature of Halloween 1 & 2. She was almost glad no one had warned him of her obsession with the darker movies. “Make yourself at home, I have pizza on the way from nightshade’s and all the candy and popcorn you could ever want-- just don’t tell Julian, he’ll lecture me about cavities again.”

Was it illness or did you stumble into a corner of my lands not exactly suited to you?” Kieran was kinder than his father but he had no disillusions of his people’s behavior, though so long as everyone involved in any acts that were sexual in nature were consenting adults there was no need to kinkshame. It was only in cases like Oban’s parties where the mortals in attendance hadn’t been informed they were going to suffer for his brother’s pleasure where it became an issue. If his sadistic tendencies were played out on those who enjoyed being made to suffer then there would have been nothing wrong.
