The buccal fat pads are located deep within the cheeks and contribute to fullness in this area of the face. While volume is frequently associated with youth, the buccal fat pads can produce a very rounded appearance to a face regardless of someone’s weight. It is important when performing this procedure to respect the fat pads and only remove enough to contour the cheeks while preserving the remaining fat for continued structure and support to the face. True or False: The demand for rhinoplasty is growing. 🤔 . When Dr. Somenek performs rhinoplasty, he makes sure that nasal function is just as high of a priority as the aesthetics of the nose. This patient had a caudal septal deviation that was blocking her left nasal cavity. Dr. Somenek removed the crooked part of the septum and placed a septal extension graft to straighten out the nasal base. This opened up her airway and created symmetry between her nostrils. The nasal tip was also shaped to create a more proportionate contour.
