Edit: Design has been updated 👍
Prime Asset idea because I've not gotten to talk about my Outlast trials stuff in forever.

Turned the Showman into the Starlet, so fun times :) Her design is still just a wip so sorry 😞
Her name's Udelle, and she was a film actress/ stage presence before Murkoff. Was known for using her cast mates as actual props and quite literally taking out the competition with her own two hands. The usual toxic makeup and skin poisoning led to her disfigurements and may or may not have been purposeful sabotage from one of her old stage mates uwu
Starlet Trials:
1 - Set the stage. Takes place in a theatre and you have to do exactly as said, gathering items to set the stage she'd be working on. Would likely start with setting up mannequins/cadavers like actors from the dressing room, then switch to actually gathering the scenery from backstage and around the theatre, ends with the starting the show/ reaching the finale.
2 - Conduct the play. Kinda a second part to 1, you'd have to run around the theatre and turn on lights, fix wavelengths kinda as mic/ speaker checks, and turning cranks to change scenes until the pathway through to exit the trial is revealed. (Very similar to the play scene in Silent Hill Downpour)
3 - Enjoy the show. Gather films, set them up in theatre rooms, and watch the show to get hints/ clues to find keys to get out.
I had more but it's gone out the window so this is it for now :)

Hello praying people, I'm not doing well and would really appreciate your prayers right now <3
#long very boring and unnecessarily detailed tag monologue incoming‚ feel free to skip:#this is going to sound like a silly thing to be hitting rock bottom over#but i’m fairly certain i have a semi-rare skin condition known as sensitive skin syndrome#which is basically where skin gets progressively more sensitive#until it won’t tolerate the topical application of anything at all without getting irritated#usually it happens to people on the skin of their face and i have it there but i also specifically have it on my lips#(which apparently is extremely not normal; i found a dermatologist’s case study from like 2019 of one woman who had it on her lips#and according to this case study there were no other cases of people having it on their lips#in all the dermatological literature he had read)#i can’t follow the protocol which all the journal articles i’ve been able to find say is helpful for the rest of the face which is basicall#leave the area the heck alone for at least a year#because if i don’t apply anything to my lips for more than two or three days they will get so dry they crack and bleed#so it’s looking like one way or another i may be having to deal with dry burning irritated lips for the rest of my life#and i’m not dealing with the thought of that very well#i’ve already suffered so much anguish from extreme sensitivity on the rest of my face#and not being able to take proper care of the skin there#and this is just too much for me#i know God is allowing this for a reason but it’s filling me with so much frustration and panic and despair that i don’t know how to go on#but i must and i will#this isn’t a serious or a life-threatening condition but it’s looking like a pretty hopeless one and it’s hurting me badly#and i would appreciate prayers that it would just be healed or that i would know what to do#i think i will try going to my dermatologist but somehow i doubt she's even heard of sensitive skin syndrome#on a COMPLETELY unrelated note i'm just about to get my period and also for two days i've ''eaten'' nothing but vegetable smoothies#and those in pretty small amounts because they're disgusting#(do a detox my hormonal health doctor said)#(it'll be fun she said)#ok if you read this far you're so brave braver than any u.s. marine etc.#thanks for reading ily <3

got reminded of the "saying Arabs conquered and colonized North Africa is Zionist because obviously no one saying that coulx possibly draw a distinction between North African Arabs and Palestinian Arabs, and even drawing a distinction between Arabs and Imazighen is colonizer shit" school of thought
#cipher talk#I have seem Zionists co-opt the language of MENA Indigenous groups but MF that doesn't mean we're WRONG#It means they're stealing our talking points to appeal to more left leaning people#How is it you can recognize that they've co-opted the language of social justice and that that doesn't mean social justice is bad#Until the people YOU dispossess are mentioned and suddenly you're doing step 8 of the 8 steps of white settler colonial denial#Just like the Israelis do!#And yeah like. Some people don't draw the distinction. That's a product of intergenerational trauma and how our communities#Get manipulated by the US and shit. I've also met Arabs not from North Africa that refuse to draw a distinction#And see a discussion of how Arabs have hurt Indigenous Africans as an attack on them when it doesn't make sense to do so#I've also met a lot of people who DO clearly draw a distinction because the material conditions of Palestinians are that of Indigenity#Are your material conditions as a postcolonial North African with an Arab name and a mosque and skin that isn't black that of Indigenity?#Do you not have people with your face in the government (regardless of how shifty it is)? Did someone take your land or your churches land?#Do you struggle with employment? Is your tongue not the most common one? Are your cultural clothes looked at with distaste?#Are your girls targeted for kidnapping and rape to force them to not be of your culture? Are your women called whores who WANT rape?#Are you harassed by cops? Does the government try to take your kids because they have bullshit adoption laws?#Do your kids get arrested at 12 or 13 and almost sent a thousand miles away from home before pressure stays the order?#Is your language called feudal? Do people tell you they hope it dies soon? Is your name a barrier in your life?#Did they drown your fucking village?#Because all of these are things Copts and Nubians can say yes to#Before I even start on the shit done in the Maghreb or the fuckery about how Egypt defines 'Amazigh territory' (which is very complicated)

Saw another one of those posts compiling stupid commentaries of some men complaining about a videogame character looking realistic but also not all too conventionally attractive.. What always sticks out the most is stuff like "if I wanted realism - I'd go outside".
I just really can't comprehend what's in the mind of people who thinks that real women (and sometimes not only women) are ugly, repulsive, and something to "get away into a save haven from once in a while". I remember I once heard a similar criticism towards how I draw humans, too - that "uwu art is supposed to be a challenge to world's imperfections and ugliness, it should be a guiding light and dream of ideal to comfort us sick humans, and you defeat the purpose by bringing all the real world's flaws with you in your art uwu". *smh*
Like, I genuinely can't understand how these loosers even live if normal human faces and bodies are something to dread for them. I know I am constantly raving about how this wretched world is a factory of suffering and no person with basic sanity is glad to have been born at the first place, but even I am surprised when of all things to resent about the world some choose just faces of other idiots living in it??

One of the many things I love about writing Henry POV is how his subconscious is just... completely fucked in a way that manages surprises me. Case in point, he started imagining how Mary would react to what he considers to be the Hal's Face Hole Problem (that is, how people are going to judge Hal once they see his scar) and ended imagining she'd dump his arse over it:
Why do you need to manage Harry, he imagines Mary saying, her small body tucked against him, why must he be managed? You don’t understand, he would tell her, you don’t know what it’s like to rule a kingdom, to be seen and judged. You don’t know how men would see me – see him – once they know how his face (your face, he wears your face) has been marked out. It’s a stain, a blot – people will read him by its mark. We must prepare for that. Mary would bristle, pull away from him. She would take herself from his bed and go to Harry.

Skin Barrier: The Key to Healthy and Radiant Skin
Your skin is an amazing organ that serves as a protective shield against external elements, regulates body temperature, and plays a crucial role in maintaining overall health. At the core of your skin's defense system lies the skin barrier, a complex structure that acts as a gatekeeper, keeping harmful substances out and essential moisture in. Understanding and preserving this vital protective layer is essential for achieving and maintaining healthy, radiant skin. In this blog post, we will delve into the intricacies of the skin barrier, explore its importance, and discuss effective strategies to keep it strong and resilient.
Tumblr media
What is the Skin Barrier?
The skin barrier, also known as the stratum corneum, is the outermost layer of the epidermis—the top layer of the skin. It consists of a matrix of lipids, proteins, and corneocytes (dead skin cells) tightly packed together, forming a protective shield. This barrier plays a crucial role in preventing the entry of harmful substances, such as bacteria, allergens, and environmental pollutants, into the deeper layers of the skin.
The Importance of a Healthy Skin Barrier
A healthy skin barrier is the foundation of vibrant and glowing skin. It serves multiple functions:
Moisture Retention: The skin barrier acts as a barrier to water loss, preventing excessive evaporation and maintaining optimal hydration levels. This helps to keep the skin plump, supple, and well-nourished.
Protection from Irritants: A strong skin barrier shields the skin from external irritants, including harsh chemicals, detergents, and pollution. By keeping these irritants out, it reduces the risk of inflammation, redness, and allergic reactions.
Defense against Infections: The skin barrier acts as the first line of defense against microbial invaders. When intact and functioning properly, it prevents harmful bacteria, fungi, and viruses from entering the body, reducing the risk of infections.
UV Protection: While the skin barrier alone cannot provide full protection against harmful UV radiation, it does offer some degree of defense. A healthy skin barrier can enhance the efficacy of sunscreen and reduce the penetration of UV rays into the deeper layers of the skin.
Maintaining a Strong Skin Barrier
Gentle Cleansing: Opt for mild, soap-free cleansers that won't strip away natural oils or disrupt the delicate balance of the skin barrier. Avoid hot water, which can further dry out the skin. Instead, use lukewarm water when washing your face or body.
Moisturize Regularly: Hydration is key to maintaining a healthy skin barrier. Choose moisturizers containing humectants, such as hyaluronic acid or glycerin, which help to attract and retain moisture. Apply moisturizer immediately after showering or bathing to lock in hydration. What's more, you can use some tools to promote water into your face deeply, such as facial massager or microneedling pen.
Tumblr media
Avoid Harsh Ingredients: Certain skincare products, such as those containing alcohol, fragrance, or harsh detergents, can compromise the skin barrier. Read product labels carefully and opt for gentle, non-irritating formulations.
Protect from the Sun: Sun damage can weaken the skin barrier over time, leading to dryness and increased sensitivity. Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 daily, and seek shade during peak sun hours.
Balanced Diet and Hydration: Nourish your skin from within by maintaining a balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Drink plenty of water to ensure proper hydration, which supports skin health and elasticity.
Avoid Over-Exfoliation: While exfoliating can remove dead skin cells and reveal a fresh complexion, excessive exfoliation can disrupt the skin barrier. Limit exfoliation to once or twice a week and choose gentle exfoliants
