Window Shades Daybreak in Utah - Site Shade Co
What is a daylight blind?
A daylight blind, also known as a daylight roller blind or a light-filtering blind, is a type of window covering designed to filter and diffuse natural daylight while providing privacy. Daylight blinds are often used in homes and offices to control the amount of sunlight entering a room without completely blocking it out.
Here are some key characteristics and features of daylight blinds:
Light Filtering: Daylight blinds are made from materials that allow diffused natural light to enter the room while reducing glare and blocking harmful UV rays. This makes them ideal for areas where you want to maintain a bright and airy feel while protecting against excessive sun exposure.
Privacy: These blinds offer varying degrees of privacy depending on the material and design. They typically provide privacy during the daytime when they are closed, but they may not provide complete privacy at night when the interior lights are on and it's dark outside. Some daylight blinds have options for additional privacy liners or dual roller systems for better light and privacy control.
Roller Mechanism: Daylight blinds are often designed as roller blinds, which means they can be rolled up or down using a cord or a chain mechanism. This allows for easy adjustment of the amount of light entering the room.
Variety of Materials: They can be made from various materials, including sheer or semi-sheer fabrics, voile, polyester, or other light-filtering materials. Some designs may also incorporate patterns or textures to add a decorative element to the window.
Aesthetic Appeal: Daylight blinds are known for their aesthetic appeal. When they are closed, they create a soft and diffused lighting effect, adding a touch of elegance to the room.
Energy Efficiency: By allowing natural daylight to enter a room, daylight blinds can help reduce the need for artificial lighting during the day, which can contribute to energy savings. They also help regulate indoor temperatures by reducing solar heat gain.
Easy Maintenance: Daylight blinds are relatively easy to clean and maintain. Most can be wiped down or vacuumed to remove dust and dirt.
Daylight blinds are a popular choice for living rooms, bedrooms, and office spaces where you want to balance the need for natural light with privacy and light control. They come in various styles and designs to suit different interior decor preferences and can be customized to fit specific window sizes and shapes.
Can you see through shades at night?
The level of privacy and visibility through shades at night depends on the type of shade and its material. Here are some common types of shades and how they perform in terms of visibility at night:
Daylight Shades: Daylight shades, also known as light-filtering or sheer shades, are designed to allow natural light to enter while providing some privacy during the day. However, at night when the interior lights are on and it's dark outside, these shades may not provide complete privacy. Depending on the material and the amount of light inside the room, people outside may be able to see silhouettes or shapes through these shades.
Blackout Shades: Blackout shades are designed to block out light completely and provide maximum privacy. These shades are typically made from thicker, opaque materials that do not allow visibility from the outside, even when the interior lights are on.
Roller Shades: Roller shades can come in various materials, including light-filtering and blackout options. Light-filtering roller shades may allow some visibility at night, especially if there is light inside the room. Blackout roller shades, on the other hand, are designed to block light and provide privacy both day and night.
Roman Shades: Roman shades can be made from a variety of fabrics, including sheer, semi-sheer, and opaque materials. Similar to roller shades, the level of privacy and visibility at night will depend on the specific fabric and whether it is designed for light filtering or blackout.
Cellular Shades: Cellular shades, also known as honeycomb shades, come in different opacity levels, including light-filtering and blackout. Light-filtering cellular shades may provide some visibility at night, especially if there is light inside the room, while blackout cellular shades offer greater privacy.
It's important to choose shades based on your specific privacy needs and the room's function. If nighttime privacy is a significant concern, blackout shades or other opaque window coverings are a good choice. Additionally, using curtains or drapes in conjunction with shades can provide an extra layer of privacy, especially when they are closed at night.

Kit Couture - Jack Draper
summary: a playful fashion show helps Jack choose his winning look for the Oceania swing...
You stand in the living room of your shared apartment, Jack's eyes sparkling with excitement as he tears into the freshly delivered Nike parcel. The sound of plastic and cardboard fills the air as he pulls out kit after kit, each one more vibrant and cutting-edge than the last. You can't help but smile at his enthusiasm; his cheeks flushed with the anticipation of the upcoming Oceania swing.
Jack holds up the first kit, a sleek, electric blue ensemble with neon green accents that pop against his tan skin. "What do you think?" he asks, eager for your opinion. You nod, taking in the way the fabric clings to his muscular frame, showcasing the hours of training he's put in on the court.
"It's bold," you say, your eyes lingering on the reflective material that shimmers under the lights. "It'll definitely make you stand out."
Jack grins, tossing the blue kit aside to reveal the next option: a pink and teal combo that reminds you of a tropical sunset. "How about this one?" he asks, holding it against his chest with both arms outstretched. You lean in, tilting your head to one side as you assess the colors against his complexion.
"It's…different," you admit, a smile playing at the corners of your lips. "But you've got the confidence to pull it off."
Jack's grin widens as he tosses the pink and teal kit over his shoulder and moves on to the next. A kaleidoscope of colors emerges, a blend of purple and orange that seems to pulse with energy. "And what about this?"
You tilt your head, scrutinizing the kit. "It's… striking. It'll be like you're playing under a disco ball."
Jack laughs, his eyes lighting up. "Exactly the effect I'm going for!" He tosses it onto the growing pile and pulls out a kit that seems to be all white with a subtle pattern of light blue waves. "How about this one?"
You nod thoughtfully. "It's clean, classic. It says you're focused on the game, not the flash."
Jack's eyes scan the room, searching for the next kit to model. "What about this?" he says, holding up a kit that's a symphony of navy blue and gold. The material looks luxurious, the gold threads woven in a way that reminds you of the gilded edges of an ancient book.
You nod approvingly. "It's regal," you murmur. "It's like you're a knight ready to joust on the tennis court."
Jack's cheeks turn a deeper shade of pink at the compliment, and he playfully bows before holding out the next kit—a fiery red number with black and silver stripes that scream speed and power. "How about this?" he asks, the excitement in his voice palpable.
You study the kit, the way the red seems to vibrate against his skin, the sharp contrast of the black and silver stripes giving him the aura of a panther ready to pounce. "It's intense," you say, your voice low. "It's like you're bringing the heat of a volcano to the tennis court."
Jack's eyes light up, a hint of mischief playing across his features. "I like that," he murmurs, holding the kit closer to his chest. He glances down at the pile, his fingers brushing against the soft fabric of the next choice. It's a cool mint green with splashes of navy, a refreshing change from the boldness of the previous ones.
"This one's for the ocean breeze," he says, holding it up. The minty hue brings out the brightness of his eyes, giving him an aura of calmness amidst the storm of competition. "What's your verdict?"
You cross your arms, tilting your head as you consider the kit. "It's cool," you say with a nod. "It'll keep you looking sharp and fresh, even in the Aussie heat. You know what, Jack, why don't you try them all on? Let's see how they look in action."
Jack's grin widens, and he eagerly starts to strip out of his casual wear. "Which one first?" he asks, his excitement palpable.
You gesture to the electric blue and neon green kit. "Let's start with the first one," you say. "It'll set the tone for the fashion show."
Jack's laughter fills the room as he quickly changes into the outfit. The fabric is lightweight and stretchy, perfect for the intense matches that await him in Australia. The blue seems to pulse with every beat of his heart, the neon green lines tracing the contours of his body as he strides over to the makeshift catwalk—the plush carpet leading from the couch to the balcony door. He does a little spin, showing off the kit from all angles. "What do you think?" he asks, bouncing on the balls of his feet.
You watch him, his excitement contagious. "It's eye-catching," you say, "like a bolt of lightning across a clear sky."
Jack nods, his eyes alight with the thrill of the upcoming tournaments. He quickly changes into the next kit, the tropical pink and teal one. He struts over to you, his gait playful and full of swagger. "Ready for the sunset on my shoulders?"
You can't help but chuckle at his charm. "It's definitely unique," you say, your eyes sweeping over the vibrant hues. "You'll be the talk of the town in this."
Jack winks and then quickly changes into the next kit—the kaleidoscope of purple and orange. He struts down the makeshift catwalk, mimicking his signature serve, the material stretching and moving with his body in a mesmerizing dance of color and light. "Now, this one's got some pizzazz," he says, twirling around.
You clap your hands together. "It's like you're going to play in a box of Skittles," you tease. "But you know what? It totally works."
Jack laughs, his eyes lighting up with the thrill of your approval. He quickly shimmies out of the purple and orange ensemble and into the navy and gold kit. The material is luxurious under your fingertips as he struts back over, the gold threads gleaming like stars against the rich blue fabric. "Now, this is how you play tennis," he says, striking a pose.
You nod, your eyes widening at the transformation. "It's like you're wearing the night sky," you murmur. "The gold threads look like constellations guiding you to victory."
Jack's grin widens, and he does a little victory dance, the material swishing around his legs. He then peels off the royal attire and dons the mint green kit with navy splashes. The room seems to cool down with his every step, the mint hue a stark contrast to the warm tones of the previous kits. He twirls the racket in his hand, the motion fluid and graceful. "What do you think of this one?"
You lean back on the couch, crossing your legs. "It's like you're bringing a piece of the ocean with you," you muse. "It's elegant, Jack. Like you're gliding through the waves."
Jack beams, performing a light jog, the mint fabric fluttering around his legs. "It's comfortable, too," he says, jumping up to touch the ceiling.
You watch him, his movements a blur of grace and power. "It's like you're one with the court," you murmur. "Which one do you like best?"
Jack pauses, his mint-green clad form frozen in mid-air. He looks down at the pile of discarded kits, each a testament to the hours of thought and design that went into them. Then he looks back at you, his eyes searching yours for a hint of preference. "I like them all," he says, his voice earnest. "But I want to know what you think."
You sit up, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. "Jack," you say, your voice gentle. "You know I think you look amazing in all of them. But if I had to choose…" You lean back into the couch cushions, considering the options. "I quite like the teal and pink one. It's different, and it really brings out your playful side."
Jack's eyes light up, and he quickly strips down to his boxers before pulling on the teal and pink kit. He twirls around, the fabric catching the light and casting a colorful shadow on the wall. "You really think so?" he asks, his voice filled with hope.
You nod, a smile playing on your lips. "It's unexpected," you say. "It shows that you're not just about the power serves and smashes. It shows you've got style, too."
Jack's eyes light up, and he strikes a pose, the teal and pink kit hugging his body like a second skin. "Style, huh?" he says, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips. "I can do style."
You laugh, watching him as he practically glows in the vibrant colors. "You definitely can," you say, your eyes sparkling with amusement.
Jack takes a bow, his grin never leaving his face. "Alright, I'll take that into consideration," he says, his voice filled with playful confidence. He starts to take off the teal and pink kit, but you stop him with a hand on his arm.
"Hang on," you say, your eyes scanning the room. You spot your phone on the coffee table and snatch it up. "Let's get some photos. For…research purposes," you add with a wink.
Jack laughs, his cheeks flushing a deeper shade of pink as he obliges, striking a series of poses that range from serious to playful. You snap away, capturing the way the colors play with the light, the way his muscles flex, and the pure joy on his face.
"Alright, now let's get serious," you say, standing up from the couch. You approach him, your eyes scanning the kit. "How does it feel? Can you move freely?"
Jack nods, mimicking a few serves and volleys, the teal and pink fabric fluttering around him like the petals of an exotic flower in the breeze. "It's comfortable," he says, bouncing on his toes.
You take a moment to appreciate the way he moves in the kit, the fabric seemingly an extension of his body. "It's like it's made for you," you murmur, snapping a few more photos.
Jack laughs, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Thanks, but I'm pretty sure Nike had a whole team behind it," he says, a hint of humility in his voice.
You hand him the phone to see the photos you've taken, and his smile widens as he scrolls through them. "Wow, these are great," he says, admiring your photography skills. "You've got an eye for this."
"You're not so bad yourself," you tease, nudging him playfully. "Now, let's see how they look in action." You gesture to the mini tennis court you've set up in the living room, complete with a makeshift net made of a yoga strap and a couple of chairs.
Jack's eyes light up even more, if that's possible, and he grabs his racket, already dressed in the teal and pink ensemble. He bounces on his toes, his eyes focused on the "net." "Ready to be my opponent?"
You laugh, shaking your head. "I'm no match for you, but I'll try to return a few," you say, grabbing your own racket from the corner.
Jack's eyes light up even more, and he takes his position on the makeshift baseline. "Alright, let's do this," he says, his British accent making the challenge sound almost like a friendly suggestion.
You stand opposite him, feeling a bit nervous. You're no professional tennis player, but the excitement in the room is infectious. You serve the ball, and Jack returns it with ease, the teal and pink kit moving with him like a second skin. You can see the difference in his stance, his confidence boosted by the vibrant colors.
"You've got this," you call out, your voice echoing slightly in the apartment.
Jack nods, his eyes never leaving the neon green ball you've served. He hits it back with surprising precision, the teal and pink kit a blur as he moves swiftly around the makeshift court. You manage to return it, but he's already on the offensive, sending the ball back with a fierce volley that you barely get your racket on.
"Nice try," he says, his voice filled with the thrill of competition. "But you're going to have to do better than that."
You laugh, feeling the excitement build as you watch Jack move with the grace of a gazelle and the precision of a hawk. Each swing of his racket sends the ball zipping through the air in a blur of color. The teal and pink kit is definitely a good choice, you think to yourself, as it seems to enhance his playful spirit.
Jack pauses, catching his breath, and looks at you expectantly. "Well?"
You bite your lip, contemplating. "You know what?" you say, setting down your racket. "I think the teal and pink might just be the lucky charm you need for the Oceania swing."
Jack's smile reaches his eyes, the colors of the kit mirroring his excitement. "Yeah?"
You nod firmly. "Definitely. It's got that 'wow' factor that'll make the crowds remember you."
Jack's grin grows, his teeth flashing white against the vivid colors of the kit. He does a victory pose, one fist in the air, the other holding his racket like a sword. "Alright, it's settled then," he declares. "Teal and pink it is for the Oceania swing."
You can't help but laugh at his dramatic flair. "It's going to be a fashion statement and a half," you say, shaking your head.
Jack grins back at you, the teal and pink kit a stark contrast against the neutral tones of your apartment. "I'm all for making an entrance," he says, winking.
You laugh, shaking your head. "You always do," you reply, unable to resist his charisma. You pick up the phone again, eager to capture more of Jack's fiery spirit in the vibrant outfit. "Alright, let's see the full range of your moves," you say, holding up the phone like a professional photographer.
Jack nods, his eyes focused on the imaginary opponent across the net. He starts with a few practice serves, the teal and pink kit stretching and moving with each powerful throw of his arm. You snap away, the camera capturing the fluid motion of his body, the fabric rippling like a wave.
"Alright, let's mix it up," you suggest, your voice filled with excitement. "Some forehands, backhands, and maybe even a drop shot or two?"
Jack's eyes light up at the challenge, and he nods, ready to show off his skills. He starts with a series of powerful forehands, the teal and pink kit accentuating his swift movements. You capture the images, the fabric a blur of color against the stark white walls of the apartment. Each shot is met with a grunt of effort, the sound of the racket meeting the ball echoing in the room.
"How about a backhand?" you suggest, and Jack pivots gracefully, his body a study in motion as he executes a perfect stroke. The kit seems to come alive, the teal almost glowing with the power of his swing.
"Ace!" you exclaim, the word hanging in the air as the ball sails past the makeshift net. You snap a photo, catching the moment of victory in the flash of light.
Jack laughs, the sound filling the room like the sweetest melody. He's in his element, the teal and pink kit a canvas for his athleticism. "You think?" he asks, his eyes twinkling with the thrill of the game.
"Absolutely," you reply, nodding emphatically. "It's like you're bringing the vibrancy of the reef to the concrete jungle of the tennis court."
Jack's eyes widen with excitement, and he starts to rally with an invisible opponent, the teal and pink kit flashing as he moves. "Okay, okay," you say, raising a hand to stop him. "Let's not break any lamps."
Jack laughs, his eyes sparkling with mischief. He lowers the racket, the teal fabric of the kit fluttering with his breath. "Fine," he says, his grin never leaving his face. "But you're going to have to deal with this much energy in Australia."
You roll your eyes, but you can't help the smile that tugs at your lips. "I think I can handle it," you say, your voice teasing.
Jack laughs, his eyes sparkling. "That's the spirit," he says, setting down his racket. He starts to strip off the teal and pink kit, his movements quick and efficient. "But for now, let's order some takeout and watch the sunset," he suggests, his voice warm and inviting.
You nod, already feeling the tension of the day start to melt away. "Sounds perfect," you reply, heading to the kitchen to grab your laptop. You sit cross-legged on the floor, scrolling through the various restaurant options as Jack pulls on a pair of sweatpants and a plain white tee, his usual post-workout attire.
"How about Indian?" you ask, knowing his love for spicy food.
Jack nods enthusiastically. "Curry night it is," he says, his voice echoing with the same passion he has for his sport. You place the order, and as you wait for the food to arrive, you both sit down at the dinner table, the discarded kits a colorful mess on the floor. The setting sun casts a warm glow through the balcony door, painting the room in shades of pink and gold.
"So," you say, leaning back in your chair, "what are you looking forward to the most about the Oceania swing?"
Jack's eyes light up as he thinks. "The energy," he finally says. "The Aussie crowds are always amazing. And the chance to play on those iconic courts…" His voice trails off as he stares out the balcony door, lost in thought.
You nod, understanding. You've watched Jack play on TV, seen the way the crowds come alive, the way the sun seems to shine just for him. It's not just about the game; it's about the experience. "And what about the fashion?" you tease, nodding towards the pile of kits.
Jack laughs, his eyes crinkling. "Oh, that's just a bonus," he says, his voice filled with the easy charm that's made him a fan favorite.
You both sit in companionable silence, the anticipation of the upcoming tournaments thick in the air. The apartment is a whirlwind of color, the discarded kits a testament to Jack's excitement. The sun has dipped below the horizon now, casting the room in a soft, golden light that makes the colors of the kits seem even more vivid.
Jack leans over to kiss you, his lips warm and gentle against yours. "Thanks for helping me choose," he murmurs, his eyes sincere.
"Anytime," you reply, smiling as you lean into his touch. The apartment feels alive with the energy of his excitement, the vibrant kits scattered across the floor like a colorful mosaic.
The doorbell rings, breaking the silence, and Jack jumps up to grab the takeout. The smell of spices fills the air as he sets the food down on the table, the steam rising like a warm embrace. You both dig in, sharing bites and stories from past tournaments, your laughter mixing with the clink of silverware.
As you eat, you can't help but notice how the teal and pink kit seems to be winking at you from the floor. It's like it's already whispering tales of victory, of the cheers and gasps it'll elicit from the Australian crowds. Jack catches your gaze and grins, his teeth flashing white against the deepening shadows of the room. "I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when I walk out in that one," he says, his eyes glinting with excitement.
You laugh, shaking your head. "You're going to be the talk of the town," you say, popping a piece of naan into your mouth.
Jack grins, his teeth gleaming. "That's the plan," he says, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
You both laugh, the tension of choosing the perfect kit dissipating with the warmth of your shared amusement. The apartment buzzes with the promise of the upcoming adventure, the kits a colorful reminder of the grand stage awaiting him.

A little later fairyverse ficlet for rulie’s birthday. I’d like to draw for it too, but hands are not hands tonight.
“How about this one?”
Warriors held up a little yellow shirt, with a green petal-shaped cape. Hyrule’s eye lit up seeing it - with a pink shirt, it would be perfect for his siblings who still held loyalty to Auntie Ledah. He wriggled out of the orange dress, with a little leaf-shaped collar, that he had been trying on, and tugged the shirt around his wings.
Like every other item in the pile, it fit perfectly, and still gave his wings freedom.
Then along with the top came a poofed out green skirt, decorated with pink butterflies.
“Do they make it in pink? Or green?” he asked, giving a little twirl. “The top, I mean - or pink in the skirt. Heela would love this skirt in pink.”
“I can make it in pink,” Warriors was leaning his head on the table, and still towered over Hyrule like this. “Do you like it?”
Hyrule twirlled again, considering, before diving into the pile of already tried on clothes. With a little rummaging he found his prize - a pair of lose, striped trousers in shades of dark blue. He swapped them for the skirt, and made his way back out of the pile.
“Colour or pattern or shape?”
It was a question that Warriors had asked Hyrule a lot over the course of their delving into the clothes. He was a little worried, though; Warriors had said that the clothes were for his siblings, as an apology for everything that had happened during that ill-fated visit. That Hyrule could understand, but not why he was the model - his siblings from his own time were small compared to other fairies, yes, but the taint in the magic and his chaotic first transformation had left Hyrule smaller still. Not by much, but by enough that if these clothes fit him perfectly, they would not fit his siblings.
He... should probably point it out.
But he liked these clothes, and the bird bath turned warm bubble bath that Warriors had forced him to have before allowing him near the supplied.
A bubble bath which was fun, and washing his hair which was... Nice now it was clean, but a little harrowing to perform. And then having wet wings! Warriors had helped him dry them off very quickly, but it was still scary.
“Shape,” Hyrule answered him. “But blue was Aunt Seril’s colour, and I was Aunt Ledah’s...”
After some thought, Warriors pulled out another pair of trousers. The fabric was different, and the ends a little ragged, but the stripes were much thinner and all of the fabric was green. The magic in them settled less neatly against Hyrule, but he knew plenty of different sorts by now, and could mesh it easily enough.
Really, they were perfect, except for how the fabric was starched. Warriors must have seen it in Hyrule’s face, for he frowned, “I’ll see if I can find any fabric more like the blue ones...”
Then, after another moment, Warriors pulled a final item from his bag; a little coat, all blue unfortunately, except where there was soft, white fleece lining sticking out from the edges. Even the wing slits were lined in fleece, and it came with a pair of pale-blue mittens.
It was all the wrong colours, but it looked so, so warm...
“Here, try this on,” Warriors looked a little sheepish. “I don’t have other colours right now, but the draper did have some green last time I visited...”
For the first time Hyrule hesitated. The other clothes... Everything else he would be willing to give back, but the coat? If it fit, as it was sure to do, he was not sure he would even take it off on Death Mountain. Just looking at it, imagining the fleece on his skin and soft mittens on his hands...
“Are you sure?” he whispered. “I... Am not sure I’ll be able to give it back.”
“Give it back?” Warriors’ brow furrowed a little. “Why would you give it back?”
“You said it was for my siblings?”
“I said I was making some for your siblings, I just wanted to know if they’d like the same designs,” a strange look crossed Warriors’ face. “These ones are for you, ‘Rulie.”
“Oh.”
Hyrule could not manage to process more than that as he reached out, taking the coat. He removed the cape but not the shirt before putting it on, immediately melting into the fleece.
“Temtem would like this,” he managed to whisper out. “Same colours, too...”
Warriors shook his head, “do you like it?”
Feeling a little young and a little silly, Hyrule hugged himself tightly. He hid himself in the fluff, until only his eyes and tips of his ears could be seen.
“Comfy.”
“I can see that,” there was laughter in Warriors’ voice. “Why don’t you keep it on, and I’ll get you a box for the rest?”
Hyrule wriggled somehow deeper into the coat, nodding with his entire body.
It would only be twenty minutes later that he realised he could actually definitely truly keep the clothes - and more than just the clothes, the coat, with another to be made to match but actually in his colours and maybe in his magic - and burst into overwhelmed tears.

Zebra Blinds In Calgary: The Newest Trends In Blinds
Do you want to give a modern look to your home? If so, then opt for blinds instead of other window treatments.
Zebra blinds in Calgary allow you to adjust the brightness to your preference. These blinds are high in demand due to their ability to work in a double-layer system. Moreover, they are the perfect alternative to ordinary slatted blinds.
Why is it known as zebra shades? This question might have crossed your mind. Well, these blinds have something very common with the animal zebra, and it is the pattern. Now, let's know what is the purpose of zebra shades.
What are zebra shades?
The zebra blinds consist of horizontal slats that are made of two different fabrics. The alternate pattern, which is similar to that of a Zebra, is behind naming these blinds.
Do you know the unique part of zebra shades? Well, when you operate it, the slats place themselves like a row of stripes. When you double-cross the strips, some of them are transparent and others, opaque.
It is the primary reason that you can enjoy the natural daylight soothingly. On the other hand, when horizontal shades do not cross each other, they act as a barrier against the sunlight. And this is when you get to enjoy a cosy environment.
What are the features of Zebra blinds in Calgary?
Simplicity grabs attention, and it is true in every aspect. Do you know the reason behind the widespread popularity of zebra blinds? Well, the simplicity of their design is one of the main reasons for their demand. They're sleek, deliver clear pictures, and work well with any window form.
Now let's focus on the different features that are available in zebra shades.
1. Light Control
Zebra blinds are a great choice for any room due to their sleek form and capacity to manage the lights. Moreover, when you want some private space, then close the blinds. And when you want more light to enter from the windows, then simply keep them open.
You get the flexibility to control light, isn't it great!
Furthermore, You can elevate these blinds into their valance to view the outdoors.
2. Fabric option
Zebra blinds are available in a wide variety of fabrics, colours, and designs.
Do you want some bright hues? Or neutral shades? You can get all that suits the home decor.
Are you interested to coordinate zebra shades with your room’s furniture? It can enhance the look of the entire house! So if you want then go for these shades. Moreover, zebra blinds are available in both, room darkening and light-filtering fabrics. Therefore, you can easily pair it up with other furnishing items in the room. For instance, upholstery and drapers.
3. Indoor protection
Do you want your home to look great for the upcoming years? If so, then start taking care from now on. However, long-term exposure to sunlight may cause fading and discolouration of the floor and furniture. This includes carpets, wallpapers, as well as artworks such as paintings.
But don't worry! The good news is that layered zebra shades can block up to 99 per cent of harmful UV rays. So, by installing them, you can protect your interiors from the adverse effect of the sun.
4. Child protection
Are you aware of the accidents that have occurred due to corded blinds? Yes, this is a serious matter. According to reports, incidents of strangulation due to the hanging cord have taken place. So, corded blinds are not suitable for homes with pets and kids. The best alternative to it is the cordless variant. These cordless zebra blinds are suitable for playrooms, nurseries, and classrooms for children.
5. Versatility
Do you want a blind that is adaptable to any interior design? If so, then the best option is to go for zebra blinds. They consist of soft fabrics which go well with traditional and antique decor. On the other hand, the minimalist design and clean lines are a perfect match for a contemporary style.
6. Motorization
Do you find it difficult to reach your windows? So, you keep them open or closed all day! If this is your concern, then, you don't have to worry from now on, as Zebra blinds are motorized. These blinds not only save you time and effort but also add value to your home. Moreover, you can set timers in the apps to your preference and the motors will take care of the rest. Above all, you can operate these blinds from a distance, thereby solving all the issues.
Final thought!
Zebra blinds are a perfect addition to any space, ranging from simple interiors to lavish styles. Further, they not only uplift the look but also offer the light controlling option.
These shades are available in varied colours, fabrics, and designs. So, you have the option to select between a wide range of products.

No Man Walks Alone Drops Gorgeous, Tight Tailoring Collection Summer 2020
No doubt originally slated to be made and listed for sale in April before the pandemic forced the nationwide shutdown in Italy and much of the world, the No Man Walks Alone x Sartoria Carrara tailoring collection for Spring/Summer 2020 has dropped for sale. Better late than never, as these are gorgeous, timeless pieces. Literally every single one is covetable.
If you haven’t read my review of the N.M.W.A. x S.C. tailoring line, go check it out here. Of the various full-canvas ready-to-wear tailoring lines in this general price point ($1k-1500), it’s maybe my favorite or at least tied for first. The styling is mature, the make is high-quality and done by genuine artisans with generations of skill, and the cloth choices from Greg and co. are always sublime.
This season’s is a small collection, with just three suits, three sportcoats and one pair of odd trousers.
My favorite is the sand hopsack in a Marling & Evans wool-linen hopsack. It’s the perfect shade of tan—not too yellow, not too gray (I was consistently disappointed with the shade of tans Eidos always put out, it was always more greige than anything). And it’s got some variation in the coloring with little specks that give it interest when you’re close up, but which don’t call attention to themselves from far away.
The sand has a twin in the same Marling & Evans cloth but in blue, too. Not a dark navy, though not a high or bright blue either. It’s likewise got an outstanding color variation and surface texture. As a summer navy blazer, this would be perfect.
Suit-wise, the two that catch my in particular are the tobacco linen—that ever-popular shade of rich mid brown that yearns for a tall, open collar Italian shirt in pale blue and a pair of loafers-sans-socks—and the navy in Drapers “Ascot” cloth. Greg explains of the Drapers cloth: “For those looking for a really lightweight fabric that doesn’t turn into a hot mess, this is it. Does not fall quite as hard as fresco but exponentially softer.”
Rounding out the collection is a sportcoat in a lightweight gun club check made of tan and charcoal, a suit in lightweight tan cotton gabardine, and a pair of trousers in the Drapers Ascot cloth in a taupe brown.
Check out the full collection here. And you can see their tailoring from the prior seasons here (in case you’re thinking ahead already to colder temps).
Which is your favorite of the whole collection?
(Help support this site! If you buy stuff through my links, your clicks and purchases earn me a commission from many of the retailers I feature, and it helps me sustain this site—as well as my menswear habit ;-) Thanks!)

Types of kisses prompts: 16. Chrisjen/Cotyar, 33. Bobbie/Cotyar, 42. Bobbie/Chrisjen (I'm not even gonna bother putting any "or's" between these anymore)
So, shocker, I did do all of them. Behind a cut, because otherwise it would be a hella long post.
16.Chrisjen/Cotyar - One person pouting, only to have it removed by a kiss fromthe other person.
Therewas something oddly satisfying in watching Chrisjen be out of her element.Cotyar didn’t necessarily enjoy seeing her be this uncomfortable, but she wasthe kind of person who could walk into any situation and own it, made it play out exactly the way she wanted it. To see her brow furrowed, her lips pursed and practicallyjump out of her chair as soon as they had gotten the all clear that the dropshiphad docked and leave the cramped area was new and it was interesting. Althoughprobably not a good thing to have her in this nervous of a mindset if they weregoing to deal with Mao.
He leftthe marine to fend for herself and followed Chrisjen to a small private areawhere he found her pacing, the click of her heels muffled against the carpet. She shot him a dirty look as he closed the door behind him. Oh good, she wasstill in a terrible mood. “If you mention that we’re walking into a trap onemore goddamn time, I will have you tossed out of this fucking ship.”
“I wouldn’tdream of it.” The look in her eyes could have melted the hull of the ship andit said that she knew he would definitely dream of it. For now he would keepthose comments to himself. He never was sure when she was serious with herthreats to do grievous bodily harm. But the amusement he felt at watching herbe uncomfortable was starting to fade and he sighed, watching her walk thelength of the space. “You need to breathe.”
“I amfucking breathing,” she snapped and stopped pacing. Cotyar raised his hands insurrender and carefully approached her, glad to see that she was letting him.He could see that she was breathing, but it was a little shallow and irregular. It made sense in a way. She could fight any battle, take on any enemy, but thiswasn’t a fight. This was fear, or at least a huge discomfort, and she wasn’t goodat fighting herself.
“No, youneed to breathe, properly.” He placed his hands on her shoulders and ignoredthe incredulous expression on her face. “I’m afraid your heart will give outand I would hate to blame your death on the Martian back there.”
Chrisjengave him a spectacular eyeroll, but he spotted the smallest hint of a smile inthe corner of her mouth and there wasn’t any anger behind her next curse as herhands lightly landed on his hips. “Motherfucker.”
“Youalright?” he asked a little more seriously. As much as he had smirked when shehad been seemed a little scared, even though he knew her fear was justifiedafter the transport from Pallas incident, but he kind of needed her to bealright. Chrisjen looked up at him and he immediately realized he shouldn’thave asked her that. He shook his head slightly and squeezed her shoulders. “Stupidquestion.”
“It was.I just fucking hate space and space travel and everything associated with it.” Thegrip on his hips tightened and she looked almost more defeated than she didannoyed. She was even pouting, even though he had learned to not point that outanymore, because she always vehemently denied it. It was endearing and theallure of her bottom lip was too much to resist. Giving her plenty of time toshove him away, he leaned closer until there was only a hair’s breadth betweenthem.
When shedidn’t stop him, he closed even that small distance, kissing her softly, capturing her bottom lip between his own. He actually felt some of the tensionin her shoulders disappear as she kissed him back. It made him wish they hadmore time, that there wasn’t a Martian marine on board whom he still didn’tquite trust. He wanted to be on Earth with a bed so he could give her what sheneeded, what they both wanted. But for now a kiss would have to do, until thismess was resolved.
“Wasthat supposed to be distracting?” she asked, arching an eyebrow, her lipsticksomehow still perfect. Cotyar shrugged, tracing her bottom lip with his thumb.
“Yep.”It had been as much a distracting move as it had been something he had wantedto do before they reached Mao’s ship. It was a trap they were flying into and atrap he wasn’t sure he was prepared for, could prepare for. But Cotyar didn’twant to tell her that, even though he suspected Chrisjen already knew. Sheusually did.
“It didn’twork.” She raised her chin defiantly. Her pout was gone, so was the worry inher eyes and tension she had carried. Kissing her had worked, but he wouldgladly play along to make this moment last longer. Her hands moved from hiships to underneath his jacket, her palms warm through the fabric of his shirtagainst his lower back.
“I cantry again.”
“I thinkyou should.” Chrisjen met him halfway when he leaned down to kiss her again.
33.Bobbie/Cotyar - An unexpected kiss that shocks the one receiving it.
Cotyarfelt nervous which was a strange sensation that he hadn’t felt quite like thisin years. By some miracle he had survived getting off Mao’s ship, had beenpicked up by the UNN, had a gut wound healed and then had managed to get to vacsuit before the protomolecule had reached him. And now here he was, on JamesHolden’s ship with Chrisjen, who had slapped him squarely across the facebefore wrapping her arms around him and cursing him into the next century.
Theremay have also been some kisses which would have ended up in some desperate sexif they hadn’t gotten the message that Holden was coming back with a bunch ofkids and more importantly, an injured Draper. He had watched her being carriedin by the pilot, limping, every inch of her bruised. She had given him an emptylook before the drugs kicked in and she had passed out, which was probably forthe better.
So nowhere he sat, watching her heartbeat, waiting for Chrisjen to return or for thedrugs to slowly stop working, whichever happened first. It turned out it was the latterwhen Bobbie’s heartrate increased a little and her eyes began to flutter open.Cotyar immediately moved to her side, carefully taking her hand, wanting to bean anchor for her as she returned to reality.
“HeyMarine,” he whispered. It took a moment for Bobbie’s eyes to focus on him andthen another for her to realize who she was looking at. When it finally clickedshe gave him a groggy smile and squeezed his fingers. He felt a warmth settlein his stomach as he looked at her.
“Spy.You made it.” Her skin was still more bruise than its original shade, but therewas no mistaking that accent or that tone. This was Bobbie Draper and she washere and she was alive. He had to resist the sudden urge to hug her as reliefcoursed through his veins. She was a marine, she was supposed to risky, stupidshit, but that didn’t mean he hadn’t been scared when Chrisjen had told himwhat she had done.
“Barely. You look worse though.” What was gunshot wound and a little protomoleculecompared to going one on one with a hybrid and living to tell the tale? Bobbietried to smile.
“Ah, youshould see the other guy.” It was probably for the best that he couldn’t. The Rocinantehad nuked the site of the lab, destroying all evidence of the protomoleculethere, including Bobbie’s hybrid. But the big mechanic had already told himBobbie had done quite a number on him, emptying her gun into its head.
“Youkilled your dragon, huh?” Bobbie took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Whenshe opened them again, there were tears in her eyes and Cotyar felt his heartbreak a little. She was so strong and powerful, had saved his ass and Chrisjen’s,had destroyed something that was impossible to destroy, but she was stillhuman. Carefully he wiped away a tear that nearly rolled into her hairline, letting his thumb rest against her cheekbone.
“I did.”She didn’t sound proud or victorious. She sounded tired, like it hadn’t beenthe catharsis she had sought. He could have told her that slaying your dragonsdoesn’t give you the peace you seek, but she wouldn’t have listened. At leastnow she knew.
“Youscared her, Marine. You scared me when I heard what you did.” He had no doubtChrisjen would tell her all about how terrified she had been in a less thansubtle way, but he wanted to say it as well. He got wanting to get revenge, butnot at the near cost of one’s own life. The tired expression on Bobbie’s facewas changed into of sadness as if it suddenly hit her that she had people whocared about her on this ship.
On animpulse, on the feeling that he didn’t want to lose her, Cotyar leaned down andpressed a soft kiss to her lips. Bobbie inhaled sharply, but after a moment aher lips started moving against his, the grip she had on his fingers tighteninguntil it hurt. Cotyar smiled and pulled back, kissing her forehead beforelooking down at her. “Don’t scare us again.”
Bobbielooked thoroughly confused and speechless, pressing her lips together as if shecouldn’t quite believe what had just happened. Somehow he could barely believeit himself. “I – what?”
“We’lltalk about it later. Just rest and heal.”
42.Bobbie/Chrisjen - Distracting kisses from someone that are meant to stop theother person from finishing their work, and give them kisses instead.
Chrisjenhad the talent of firing orders at people faster than any PDC could. Bobbie wasa little awestruck watching her as Chrisjen walked into the apartment in the UNbuilding, talking to one of her assistants no doubt. Bobbie almost felt sorryfor who was on the other end and she hoped they were recording thisconversation. Confirming appointments there, canceling them somewhere else, blacklisting one motherfucking idiot and inviting another to dinner.
As shepoured herself a drink, Chrisjen smiled at her, rolled her eyes and continuedtalking. Bobbie smiled back as she muted the television, smiling wider when shewas handed a glass of whiskey most Martians could only dream of. She caughtChrisjen’s wrist before she could walk away and brushed her lips against theinside of her palm, looking up to watch Chrisjen’s lips part and the tip of hertongue flick out to wet her bottom lip.
“Fuck…No,not you. Where was I?” Bobbie felt an immense of amount of pride that such a smallgesture had managed to momentarily distract Chrisjen. Chrisjen caressed hercheek and walked away, gesturing to open the door to the small outside area. She looked so beautiful today, draped in gold and blue that moved like it wasliquid. She looked like royalty from centuries ago and it just made Bobbierealize that she had barely spent any time together.
Abandoningthe whiskey without ever taking a sip, she decided to take advantage of the factthat Chrisjen was on an audio-only call. Bobbie walked up behind her and trailedher fingers down her arm before wrapping her arms around Chrisjen’s waist andresting her chin on her shoulder, breathing in the fresh air, even as thecomforting sound of Chrisjen voice continued to hurl orders.
WhenChrisjen didn’t stop, even though she had once stated she preferred to do aslittle work as possible at home (before grumbling that this fucking apartmentwould never be home), Bobbie turned her head. The line from her neck the edgeof her shoulder was bare, except for a necklace. Smirking, she kissed justbehind Chrisjen’s ear, knowing it would make it shiver. She wasn’t disappointedwhen she could her stiffen in her arms.
Sadly, she barely faltered in her fairly one-sided conversation, so Bobbie moved tokiss her neck, barely there kisses at first, slowly building up the pressure, until she was just shy of leaving a mark, nipping at the sensitive skin withher teeth as Chrisjen seemed to lose her train of thought several times andcovered Bobbie’s hands with her own, seemingly to steady herself. Bobbie smiledagainst her neck and bit softly just above the necklace.
Withoutwarning, Chrisjen muted her earpiece and spun around her arms. She was a littleflushed, her eyes were dark and she looked a slightly heated. Good. That hadbeen exactly what she wanted.
“Bobbie…”Chrisjen tried to sound exasperated, but Bobbie could see straight through that. She was turned on and it wouldn’t take much to have her put down work for thenight. She missed her and she wanted her.
“Yes, ma’am?”she tried innocently.
“Don’t ‘ma’am’me. You know exactly what you’re doing.” Chrisjen actually poked her in thechest with her finger and Bobbie smiled. It was cute when she was pretending tobe annoyed with her.
“And I’mnot gonna stop. Earth will continue spinning if you stop working for a moment.Send that poor girl home and spend some time with me.” Chrisjen narrowed hereyes, but Bobbie didn’t budge. She just held her close, looking down at her, waiting for her to give in already. Thankfully, that didn’t take long when Chrisjensuddenly sighed.
“Fuck, fine.” She unceremoniously hung up on her assistant and tossed her earpiece onthe table. “You have my full attention.”
Bobbiedidn’t bother responding. She simply picked Chrisjen up and kissed her properlyas she walked her over to the bed.

Wedding outfit of dress, bonnet and cap worn by Sarah Fletcher and wedding waistcoat worn by James Kenyon, 1844
These clothes were worn by the couple for their marriage on 27th March 1844 in Bury Parish Church. The fashionably shaped but modest dress is typical of wedding clothing in the early Victorian era, and the dress also comes with an accompanying bertha and pelerine cape. These accessories would have been used to alter the look of the dress slightly and allow it to be worn in a few different styles. It was common to wear the wedding dress again after the wedding perhaps as a formal afternoon, reception or dinner dress. Queen Victoria is credited with a rise in the popularity of white wedding dresses after she wore a white gown for her wedding in 1849 but even after this middle and working class brides would often still choose a more practical colour that could be worn again afterwards more easily. During the 1840s soft pinkish browns like the shade seen on this dress were popular alternatives to white as were purplish greys, soft greens and pinks.
The dress fabric is a quality silk satin damask, probably woven on a jacquard loom, with a self-coloured pattern of jagged geometric shapes known as a ‘cracked ice’ pattern that was very fashionable during the early 1840s. The silk satin brocade used in James’ waistcoat is another good quality fabric with a beautiful lustre. The patterning of small sprigs of flowers interspersed with small blocks of zig-zag shading is again right on trend for the 1840s. William Kenyon was a linen draper, which probably explains the high quality and fashionable patterning of the fabrics used in both his waistcoat and Sarah’s dress. Further evidence of the good quality of the wedding garments is indicated by the perfectly colour matched passementrie trimmings on the dress and its accessories as well as the skilful tailoring of the waistcoat which included painstakingly pattern matching the fabric pattern on the pockets.
Sarah’s fragile plaited straw bonnet and even more fragile silk net and ribbon cap worn beneath it also survive. The smooth, finely plaited straw bonnet would have been an expensive item that would likely have been re-worn many times and well-looked after. Although simple in shape it has been tastefully decorated with handmade bobbin lace and a wide floral patterned silk ribbon that co-ordinates with the colour of the dress. Unfortunately, no other parts of James’s outfit have survived, likely because his suit was re-used until it was worn out.
The items were donated to the collection by descendants of James and Sarah Kenyon in 1964 but the names of James and Sarah themselves had not been recorded. Over the last few years we have been researching the people associated with many items in the collection and, not only were we able to trace the original couple who wore the clothes, we were also contacted by another descendant of the couple who was able to give us even more information about them. Of all the pieces we have researched so far this has certainly been the most fruitful.
These pieces were selected as part of The Collection in 60 Objects to celebrate 60 years since the founding of our charity. Use the tag #rbks60 to see the other items we selected.

Top tips for picking the right Custom Drapers
Nowadays, drapes are a bit of a secret weapon for interior designers. They are the decorative component that can be employed to cover up flaws in other areas. They can also add the finishing touch to a successful decor. Drapes are sophisticated window treatments that give your living space a formality and elegance. But creating custom valance to draw attention to an area is more difficult than simply browsing an online store. Here are some of the tips for picking the right custom drapers online, which are explained below:
Custom Design:
When considering your house's interior design, you need to choose the custom curtains. It is a crucial component of a thoughtfully designed space and is cost-effective. Additionally, several design factors are required for various rooms. The atmosphere can be more formal in the living room and more casual in the dining room. The ideal drapes for a home might not be the best option for a contemporary home with a minimalist design. Different decor elements are required for various architectural styles to complement them.
Texture:
Avoid using smooth, monochrome curtains in a space with rich textures and embroidery. Textures are a decorative element that shouldn't be used carelessly or without considering their surroundings. This rule applies to choosing the texture of your draperies and throw pillows, area rugs, and other decorative items. To improve the texture of the space and achieve the ideal colour harmony, choose custom valance with suitable patterns, fabrics, and finishes.
Fabric:
The same is true for textiles for lengths, each of which conveys a different message. For a formal appearance, you must use a rich fabric like velvet or damask. Cotton will seem lighter and have a more relaxed vibe in contrast. You must ensure that the drapes you select will hold their shape and properly block light.
Colour:
Orange is a clean, modern colour to choose because it is so vivid and striking. In contrast, stay away from vibrant colours like red, orange, and purple if the room receives a lot of sunlight. Instead, opt for a neutral colour like beige, light grey, or white because they won't fade as quickly. The colour of the furniture and other furnishings in the room should also be considered when selecting your custom curtains.
Luxury fabrics are used to create custom curtains in various designs to match your home's style. Custom drapery is a decorative light control solution that can be easily layered with blinds and shades to create chic looks, whether for an opulent dining room. Custom drapery is made to your precise measurements and requirements to achieve the ideal style for your room or window.

A Hamptons Beach House Renovation Gets a Full Pop Art Redo
Artist Katy Garry’s beach house renovation in Long Island includes a garage conversion for lounging
“After” photos by Lena Yaremenko for Sweeten
My Sweeten Story | Sweeten homeowner Katy
A house flood sets off a new start
Sometimes you can spin a disaster into an opportunity. That’s what happened with Hildreth Place, our house in the Hamptons. We used a devastating flood as a prompt to create a happy, modern home where family and friends can meet.
Hildreth Place has been in the Garry family for more than 40 years, and my husband and I have owned it for 10. The house is in Hampton Bays, New York, 50 yards from Meschutt Beach, where families gather to swim in the bay and live music plays every night at Tiki Joes. The house was originally built in 1970, in a traditional Cape style. We have long used it with family, shared it with friends, and also rented it.
Two years ago, a pipe froze and burst. After discovering eight feet of water in our basement, we decided to go down to the bones and renovate. Our goals were to make the home more efficient from both energy and maintenance standpoints, all while turning it into something beautiful that our family and friends can enjoy.
A new chapter for a family home
Cara Boyce of Red Wagon Design partnered with me on the interior design and helped me reimagine the home. We planned to revise the façade, giving it the relaxed appearance of a modern farmhouse, and use the interior redesign to solve problems and increase our living space. With Sweeten’s help, we found the perfect contractor to help us with our Hampton Bays home renovation. He worked on time and within budget, keeping cost savings in mind and brainstorming solutions to construction challenges. The house had a few!
Hildreth Place has endured quite a bit, and we needed to prepare it for the future. The house has been standing 50 years, and is close to the beach and exposed to the elements, so our biggest investment was on exterior improvements. The materials needed to withstand the environment. We installed James Hardie clapboard on the exterior, invested in a fiberglass front door, and chose fiberglass casement windows rather than old-school wood.
A garage bay turns into a lounge space
One of the biggest interior changes we made in modernizing was on the home’s ground floor. The first floor was very traditional for a beach house, and the formal dining room, which was in the front of the house, wasn’t practical for entertaining.
By raising the roofline, we were able to add about 200 square feet upstairs, creating space for a center hallway.
We decided to create an open floor plan that connected the kitchen to a walk-through dining room and then to a new inside-outside room we carved out by stealing just under 300 square feet from the garage. This “garage room,” which opens to the back via an industrial-style roller door, lets the indoor space flow to the outdoors, and is an ideal casual gathering spot for coming off the beach.
On the second floor, there was another flow blockage to overcome: We had four bedrooms, including a big dormer for the kids, but the only way to access that bunk room was through one of the other bedrooms. It was an awkward layout for children trying to find the bathroom at night. By raising the roofline, we were able to add about 200 square feet upstairs, creating space for a center hallway. The resectioning also found us space for a master bathroom, a nice bonus.
Personalizing with color and art
Seeing my murals and paintings transform the house has been incredible. The master bedroom got a bold, black-and-white brush-stroke mural. I love it! I have a moody painting tucked between the shelves in the master bath and oceany pieces in all the first-floor rooms. A guest room with a bright bamboo theme features a hand-painted ceiling by me and is inspired by colors that I’ve been gravitating to—the combination of orange, hot pink, and red makes me happy.
Down on the first floor in the powder room, we added wallpaper—this Dorothy Draper look was a dream of mine. The lush green print and chartreuse ceiling color is the kind of pairing that inspires me as an artist. Such a surprise when you open the door! I always recommend spending money on things that give the most bang for the buck. I told my husband that the splurgy wallpaper was more important than running water.
Many of the room designs in the house are inspired by my paintings, as I really wanted to bring their joy into our home. One of the best examples of that is the “goldfish bathroom,” which is bathed in a dappling of water-blue penny tile and features several playful fish paintings.
Natural elements soften
Throughout the house, we also chose simple items to offset the highly visible ones. We went with pre-painted cabinetry in the kitchen, and the same hardwood floors as in other rooms. The lights are modern loft pendants, clean in matte white.
I’m intimidated by the process of picking out kitchen appliances, so I let my mother-in-law—a holiday-entertaining superwoman—choose; she picked a single oven with the largest cubic heating space she could find. The living room fireplace mantel is made of a rustic, hewn-wood beam.
With Sweeten’s help, we renovated and built a home that has exceeded our expectations. Hildreth Place makes me so proud. We took a tragedy and turned it into a house that makes you feel like you are on vacation the moment you walk in.
Thank you for sharing your Hampton Bays beach house renovation with us, Katy!
