— You were thankful for Price, especially when he was home from work. Even if the two of you never really had a lot of time to spend together, due to said work, you enjoyed every moment you could. This morning he woke you to a nice cup of coffee and some wildflowers he had picked just outside the fence on your shared farm. Of course you two would rather stay in bed the entire day, sadly the garden needed tending today.

So begrudgingly, you two got up to begin the task. The garden was slowly becoming more like a hot spot for weeds than that of a pretty field. And of course, Price just had to make a comment on it.

"I've only been gone a few months love," He starts to say, gesturing to the obstacle before you two. Smirk on his face as he slips on some gloves to help with pulling the weeds out. "What'cha do while I was gone, huh?" The sarcasm very apparent in his gruff voice.

You rolled your eyes, lovingly of course, and shrugged. "I don't know John, count our savin's?" You reply jokingly as you put your own gloves on.

The two of you began your work of removing some of the more stubborn weeds. Things went smoothly for awhile, snarky comment here and there, but suddenly Price was muttering in discomfort. Come to find out, the big oaf was stung by a wasp. You chuckle at the thought of this man getting stung by something as small as a wasp. Even though, wasp's kinda sucked.

"That's what you get for all that sarcasm," You say, making your way to his side. Gently grabbing his arm and turning it ever so slightly to view the sting. It was of course just a little swollen and a lot of red but no stinger in site, which was the most concerning thing at the moment. "C'mon baby, let's go get some ice for that swelling." You kindly speak, leading John by the arm back to the house.

Of course, he replies simply in a grumble. Managing a shake of his head at his predicament. The military man had been through hell and back but it was certainly a wasp that was making him feel the worst.

Once back inside, you adoringly take care of John. Making sure to dress the wound and put it on ice. Listening to him gripe about being taken care of , but you truly wouldn't have it any other way. The morning coffee, the sarcasm, the loving caress, the complaining old man, you wouldn't trade it for the world.

II. The first five years he was there, he spent working alongside the royal family. Learning their history, the history of Alabasta. The climate was one that favored Crocodile’s Devil Fruit; during the cooler nights, he’d walk into the desert and spend hours working on fine tuning his abilities. Creating sand storms with the wave of a hand, crating dust devils that grew into full-fledged tornadoes, sink holes. If it weren’t for Alabasta, he would not have grown as strong as he now is.

III. The greed didn’t begin until after his fifth year; the idea that he could be more. [ The whispers of the World Government moving again, killing the famous Shipwright, Tom, searching for blueprints that he knew damn well caused the destruction of his own home. He couldn’t sit by and do nothing. ] Thus, Rain Dinners sprouted: drawing in both pirate and civilian ( and marine ) coin, allowing for Alabasta to flourish with the influx.

IV. He spent hours with the Nefertari family- between conferences with Cobra and entertaining young Vivi by letting her climb over him, hang off of his hook, or play with the baby Bananawani- the hours spent within the halls of the palace quickly added up.

V. “But how didn't he know that Vivi had joined the ranks of Baroque Works?” Oh, he knew. It was Vivi who didn't know that Crocodile was both Mister Zero and the leader of Baroque Works until she joined with the Strawhats. After all, how many blue haired girls are followed around by a man with fancy hair? After all, by the time she'd joined- his plan was already too far in the works for him to ever stop. ( Perhaps a part of him hoped she'd remain on his side. )

VI. The tragic events that led up to his defeat were due to his own pride getting in the way. Of course, Cobra had become a pawn in this game of chess, but Crocodile hadn't had plans to kill Cobra. Cobra was going to enact that himself by bringing the whole building down atop them! ( That's what he tells himself; the pain of losing those closest to you one after another so quickly can make one do such silly things… )

controversial take but I see ppl catfighting about this a lot so I thought to throw my own coin here with my headcanons/interpretation:

I think Daemon's favorite child is 100% Aegon III. The man wanted a son for so very long. it makes sense that the favoritism would go there. Aegon is everything he had wanted. He lost the potential son Mysaria could give him, lost another son along with his second wife Laena, and finally got his wish with his final wife, Rhaenyra. I know there's the argument that "baela is his mini me so she'd be the apple of his eye" but eh, i never viewed baela as a female version of daemon. She's wild and passionate and has a fire similar to her parents but that's it and it's okay. A child being a favourite doesn't mean he doesn't love the rest

Rhaenyra's favorite child is Jacaerys. He's the firstborn son, her heir, her pride and joy. I know there's the alternative belief that Aegon III could also be suited for the role of the favorite, but I think he and rhaneyra are simply more emotional attached.

I think Laena would probably lean more towards Baela 'cause hot take but baela is more similar to Laena (in my mind at least). Obviously she loves Rhaena too but Baela is definitely her favorite.

Now, onto the children:

Jacaerys/Lucerys/Joffreys favorite parent is Daemon. He's the one they identity and remember as a father and he's someone they look up to. Of course they adore their mother but Daemon is the fun parent and they can get away with anything as long as they have him by their side.

Aegon's iii favorite parent is Rhaenyra. He can be needy sometimes and his mother is all the more willing to be affectionate with her son. She loves that she finally has a boy who isn't in too much rush to grow up fast.

Viserys's II favorite parent is also Rhaenyra. Vivi prefers the quiet company of hid older brother Aegon above all but he's not fond of the training his other elder siblings and Daemon are obsessed with. He loves sitting with Aegon as his mother tells them one of the stories of old valyria.

Baela's favorite is Daemon. While she admires her mother, her father's Rogue prince personality is more appealing, and while her mother doesn't preasure her about being a "proper lady" according to westerosi standards her father still let's her get away with more things

Rhaenas' favorite parent is Laena. She admires her mother's spirit and hopes to become like her one day. When her mother passes away Rhaena latches onto Rhaenyra who makes it clear to her and her twin that she'll never try to replace their mother's memory. Her beauty and playful side definitely help Rhaena grow out of her shy self.

Also, had Visenya survived she definitely would have joined Aegon and Viserys to team Rhaenyra. She's mama's girl
