ive been gripped by an inexplicable need to try and get the little animations kinito does in game into portable gif format, a la what you would see on old websites.... unfortunately for me, kinito doesnt actually exist as a sprite- hes apparently a 3d model formatted to look like a 2d sprite. this means there is no good way to get his sprites as they are seen in game! which is super fun. and awesome.

however! i am nothing if not a stubborn little bitch.

So, I had a question. Do you have any advice for those who want to rp but are afraid they can’t or don’t have the right material? Or even how to record? I honestly don’t know what to do, and looking for a little advice.

Well, my sweet potato. Let’s hash this out. (Wait a minute….did I make a pun?! HOLY HELL! *ahem* I’m fine…I’ve just….never done that before….I’m dad jokes galore today. Sorry…this is about you not me. *Ahem*

First of all, after all the salt that’s been thrown around it’s important that you’re going into this for fun. It’s not supposed to take over your whole life, (although it probably will, just be sure to take a break when you need it.) it’s not a popularity contest and it’s just about getting your ideas and stuff out there and making some new friends. Right, now that that’s outta the way -

There’s nothing stopping you. You don’t have to have an expensive as heck camera and a wardrobe dedicated to costumes and wigs to get started, if you have, bonus, but don’t feel like you need it. Just work with what you have, Have a rummage through your wardrobe and see what you can fashion into one thing or another, save all of your pennies and go to some thrift shows. I can’t tell you how many times I went looking for clothes for drag and then was like “Wait a minute…this is for me.” Wigs don’t have to be expensive either. You can get some genuinely decent quality ones from wish until you have enough to step up to Amazon, and then you can go to specific wig stores online, but for me, Amazon has never steered me wrong, and ya boy loves a lace front. 

You can record on whatever you have to hand. Laptop, phone, handheld, honestly. Whatever. 

If you’re using your phone, I don’t know much about that, but I do know that Nik ( @you-have-been-hadfoot-by-padfoot )uploads gifs using his phone.I’m pretty sure it’s just a case of recording it straight onto Tumblr and then you can add captions afterwards, but don’t take my word, ask Nik. He knows his shit.

Depending on the type of laptop your using, you might have to change the format to be able to upload it to a gif maker. Most of the guys, gals, both and neither use imgflip, but there’s loads to choose from. EZGif, gifs.com, whatever you find easiest. 

Now, I could give you the ins and outs of sorting out your gifs, but TT ( @asktheboywholived) has already done it so brilliantly. So I’m just gonna link you here and here.
